Lancer is not teleporting anywhere. Toby was just lazy and didn't give him walking animation.
He sais so in his playground of Chapter 1.
All enemy's in Deltarune can douge ONLY if you warn them. This isn't exclusive to Lancer.
      6:40
You CAN kill enemy's in DR if you use SnowGrave in aborted ,, SnowGrave" runs(god that's confusing) if you use Noellle to attack normal enemys whit that specific attack. They do - in fact - turn to dust.
People REAAAAALY latch on to that ,,Sans bleeds" point.
      I see 2 explanations
      - Its ketchup and Toby made it as a joke
-Toby taught it would be more dramatic that way
Yea , i think it's almost but confirmed Noelle is the Angel.

Headcannon: Lancer doesn't have a walk cycle because Rouxls taught him how to walk, and he doesn't have one either. With this, you could also think that Rouxls taught him to teleport, because you see him do it in game. There's precedent for this in Lancer's writing, which resembles calligraphy, something Rouxls enjoys.

Okay throwing one more comment in here as I just finished two left thumbs’s video on Sans being a darkner. He draws a connection between Lancer and Sans both “dodging” attacks, Sans being the only character capable of this prior to Deltarune, of course. In the Lancer battle with Susie, when you warn Lancer of Susie’s attacks, he also is capable of dodging. Maybe your teleportation argument is strengthened by it, but I have yet to have been personally convinced that Lancer has the ability to teleport, and I’ll give my reasoning.
Lancer, more or less, shows all of his cards. He isn’t a character that knows more than they are letting on, if you catch my drift. In the story, he converses with you in such a way that it would feel very odd if he “hid” something as useful as teleportation. When he DOES feel the need to hide stuff, like about his dad, he gets very upset. Just for an example, I would understand if Ralsei secretly could teleport. Ralsei tends to only bring things up when it is absolutely necessary or is required of him, and this has been shown multiple times. Same could be said about Sans in a way, while he is blatant about his teleportation use (snow on the hot dog stand, him acting tongue and cheek about his shortcuts), he never speaks of it in a direct matter. Also, my memory is a bit foggy of the Rouxl’s scenes, but I do recall that whenever Rouxl’s teleports there is a bit of spectacle to the act.
I wrote all of this, forgetting that I’m literally trying to poke holes in HEADCANNON xD… I love this stuff too much and just can’t stop myself from talking whenever I see the opportunity, but I hope you don’t mind because I’d like Cibles to see what I have to say as well.

This actually brings up a significant point that seems to be widely overlooked; Ralsei can appear anywhere because he doesn't exist in the light world, and nor is there any object that represents him. This is because he comes from the 'pure' fountain of castle town directly, where any darkner can exist in their usual state. As a result, he doesn't have to follow the same laws of reality as the lightners do, and as the two know of Ralsei, it could follow that he can appear as long as there are people there who have seen him before.

that same final form also has an upright heart within the circle, so maybe the angel's heaven contains a human SOUL too? the SOUL we control might then not even be the bottom triangle, but the one contained by the circle

In Undertale, the "Angel" was Asriel. He had seen the surface, died, and returned. He was also simultaneously an Angel that freed the monsters by breaking the barrier, and an Angel of Death as he had to kill nearly every monster in order to achieve that form. The name "Asriel" comes from "Azrael" the name of the Angel of Death in Islam. His design in the final phase is also literally the Delta Rune.
The player is NOT the angel in Undertale. In genocide, you neither learn about nor fulfill the prophecy. Gerson doesn't tell you about the angel in genocide. There are also still monsters with Alphys hidden in Hotland up until the end of the run, and then you destroy the entire world, both underground and surface. There is no longer an underground to be empty. The prophecy is ONLY fulfilled in the pacifist ending.

Sans teleports by pausing time, moving, then playing time. This is heavily implied by the nature of his teleportation, and he even paused time with you, and played time after talking about flowey. With the power of the 6 human souls, flowey showed that he could also do the same thing, meaning it has something to do with the soul traits, just like the Reset/Determination thing.

    • @ZyphLegend

I dont really think it'd be pausing time. I think pausing time is a separate ability for sans. mostly because the transitions that do involve sans having us follow him. we clearly go to a path that isn't the right way with no kind of single of a turn around. we've already seen from Papyrus showing us where his house is that the game is willing to let you follow someone's actual path regardless of it it loops back on itself. There is not a single moment when he shows signs of having any other powers, and since he abuses both of those powers during his fight, it is unlikely he has any other special powers.

Lastly, if sans is stopping time for these shortcuts, how come we don't experience it? afterall, when we see him seemingly stopping time in Grillby's, we have no issue witnessing the stopped time, yet we can follow him without also witnessing time stopping?

I personally believe that Sans IS from the Deltarune universe, but still a monster, not a darkner, and the bleeding is one of the main reasons.
We've seen changes occur between the worlds, magic not being a common thing for monsters being one that comes to mind. And nothing has re-established that monsters don't bleed, but we have evidence of the contrary. Specifically, an unused set of sprites for when Susie falls in the trash zone, showing her bleeding, just like Sans did in Undertale.
This would also explain all his dialog about trying to go back to somewhere that wasn't the surface, he's trying to go back to the deltarune universe.

Ok I have a few things to say about this. First, something that you didn't mention that could go with your theory, is that Sans's door in undertale has the same little flames on the bottom as the ones in Deltarune that are on the teleporting doors in the dark world. (Also Papyrus sais that Sans's room is like "another world", and also if you call him in a room full of trash in waterfall he mentions Trashy.) However, why would a darkner who has the ability to teleport use a door made to teleport ?? That means that his teleportation ability must be limited.
Secondly Susie says to Lancer somewhere in the end of chapter 1 talking about Lancer's dad that "everyone bleeds", so maybe monsters bleed too, idk^^.
And lastly if Sans is a darkner, then why does he have a store in the light world ? He should be just an inanimate object. Therefore, maybe Sans is a darkner in Undertale, but not in Deltarune probably.

there's just one BIG problem with your theory: Darkners are based on objects while Lightners aren't based on anything.
Sans can't be a Darkner because Darkners can't leave the Dark World and go into the Light World, because if they did so they'd instantly turn into the Item they are. so, how can Sans NOT turn into an Item when going into the Light World and how does he appear in UNDERTALE?
in all instances of Sans being on-screen, he is not in a Dark World on both games. that much is explicit.
the MOST you can do with this theory is theorize that Sans could've probably killed a Human while he was a Darkner and absorbed their Soul and then came to the Light World like what Spamton was trying to do in Chapter 2. but even *that* is a stretch in itself...

    1. Sans is an inhabitant of the Light World in Deltarune, which would be impossible if he were a darkner (Lancer turns into an ace of spades in the Light World, Rouxls turns into the rules card etc). So perhaps he has found a way to maintain his form in the LW? Also probably that's the reason we can't see Papyrus in Deltarune, Sans might not be able to help him to maintain his form as well just yet

And by the way, the reason the deltarune symbol is used as the symbol for the monster kingdom in undertale, is because they forgot what it originally meant and therefore just used it to represent their kingdom bc it looked cool or something idk. Gerson in waterfall says this.

  • @racoonwhocannotbekilled9999
    @racoonwhocannotbekilled9999 2 года назад +1

This is an AMAZING theory, but... sadly... two things debunk it.
    1. A Darkner cannot exist in the Light World, as they'll just become a regular object. (e.g. Lancer turns into a Jack of Spades card, Rouxls Kaard turns into the rules card) This debunks the Sans is a Darkner part, (as Sans would just be a regular object if it WAS true), even though I perfectly agree with the "black, white, and blue characters can teleport" part.
    2. This one is a lot more obscure than the last one. If you hack the game so that Noelle can cast SnowGrave on a normal enemy, (or, in older versions of the game, abort the Weird Route during the Berdly fight and actually bring Noelle back to a normal enemy to cast SnowGrave on,) the enemy won't run away or become frozen. *It'll turn to dust.* Furthermore, even before Chapter 2 was released, there is unused data for *the same turning to dust death animation*. This means that Lancer, King, and Queen don't actually bleed. They'd turn to dust if we managed to kill them.
If these two facts weren't true then I'd 100% agree with this theory, but sadly, no.

Theory: Sans is a human AND a monster. Here is why I believe this: Sans still turns to dust after dying in genocide, but, he bleeds, like other monsters cannot do. My theory is that sans was the second human with the cyan soul that fell into the underground. After he was killed by Asgore, his body was placed in one of asgore's coffins. Maybe through the determination and PATIENCE to continue living, his skeletal body was resurrected after death. Maybe through the magic blows of Asgore, sans was able to absorb magic, and continue to live after death, after his skin rotted away from his skeleton. This is why he still bleeds when brought to death in genocide. He possesses human qualities, like blood, and the knowledge of the abilities to save and load. He also possesses magic, like a monster. There was a whole comic dub created around a theory like this, called "Undertale green," where something similar happens to the green soul of Undertale. The green soul was able to keep her memories after death, so this means, the fact that sans is half human, is what he is hiding from the player. Sans probably found papyrus in the middle of nowhere, and decided to keep him safe as his "brother." I believe that papyrus is a full monster. Sans was probably taken up as an apprentice by gaster, the previous royal scientist, as they both have knowledge of saving and loading. Maybe the bunker in deltarune is Gaster's secret lab, where he tested an experiment on sans to get him how he is in Undertale. Maybe there will be a dark fountain in there in the future that the lighteners have to seal? Anyway, that is my crazy theory.

  • @JustASunflowerSeeD

There's just no way Sans is a Darkner, for once darkners can't even exist in the light world, they're objects given life inside of the dark worlds, in the light world they turn back into their objects, is Sans made out of an object then? There's no evidence that he's not real.
We don't know if monsters actually have blood or not I think, Toby did make spites of Susie bleeding and she said "everybody bleeds" once, there's a chance some monsters do have blood but the little monster thought humans are made of it, Sans has an equal chance of being a mutated human that looks like a skeleton who doesn't have enough determination to notice the time loops without some sort of device.
Lancer acts nothing like Sans, his "teleportation" is used for comedic effect and his blood joke is just a joke.
Also, Asgore can dodge attacks, Undyne said it in her hangout, monsters can dodge attacks but they're just too weak (side characters) or don't want to (most bosses). Darkners need a heads up to know to dodge, and I'm pretty sure you only damage enemies when you miss attacks if their defense is low so that's just a game mechanic.
tldr: "oh Sans has blood so he can't be a monster, and he can't be a human because that's weird, so he must be the only other species we've ever seen in the games even though undertale is separate from deltarune and it's a dumb plot twist!"

In Deltarune, there’s a lack of a presence of magic amongst monsters in the Light World. So monsters could potentially have different biology in Deltarune comparing to Undertale?
Another thing, I noticed someone else pointed out that Susie has a quote among the lines of “Everyone bleeds, right?” Which further suggests to Deltarune monsters having different biology to Undertale monsters. I'll just educate you on how Monster Food works on UNDERTALE:
monster food and human food are different in every way possible: when a monster eats monster food that food immediately turns into energy and does not take up space or do things like "spoil"
when you eat food in UNDERTALE, you're eating monster food that immediately heals you.
what sans is drinking is a monster ketchup, that is also, like all other food items in UNDERTALE - monster food
so even if sans for some reason decided to drink before the fight or had drunk the ketchup way before: it wouldn't make a difference.
it is still blood, CASE CLOSED!!!

I've been thinking about a theory revolving around the possible fact that Deltarune may be an alternate timeline of the Undertale History. When in the intro of Undertale they talk about how the 7 human mages sealed the underground It is implied that humans could use magic at some point. But at the time of Undertale it isn't implied that humans still use magic or remember it.
So, pretending that actually Deltarune IS an alternate timeline, the same rules may be applied for the monsters, 'cus Noelles wishes healing Rudy while visiting him and also at the Darkworld un the end of GigaQueen's Fight, implying that Monsters are incapable of using spells.
There's some dialogue about the stoves of Toriel's kitchen beign used making It more clear that she IS incapable of fire magic...
Maybe the time Deltarune IS being placed is the exact one of Undertale or similar, where monsters as well as humans are incapable of the usage of magic.
    ...
And that's it. Thanks for listening my TEDDY BEAR Talk. See ya~~💺

I got plenty of reasons to list why Lancer isn't really Sans.
    1. He doesn't have 1 HP (remember the Card Prison fight or the first encounter? One hit he would be DEAD in an instant and instead he was still alive and got hit multiple times)
    2. He doesn't walk. As far as I can tell, Sans can walk while Lancer actually can't. He just slides.
    3. He freezes in other Dark Worlds. Cause u see Sans would be a lightner, so if he were Lancer, Lancer wouldn't freeze.
So yeah those are my reasons. Idc if it is irrelevant. But bro u don't need to reply saying why Lancer IS Sans. I don't need to know it.
I mean he COULD be Sans if this actually IS a different Sans in Deltarune and that this Sans has more HP. But this Sans would be a lightner in Deltarune remember. Also about Lancer teleporting (this is a joke lads) maybe he dug holes.

I feel like alot of people take things that are just cartoon logic (sans 'teleporting') or are there for dramatic effect (sans bleeding) and try to make an entire theory about it. Not everything is that deep. toby fox isn't a god. Also, as far as lancer having a bucket for your blood, DELTARUNE IS A DIFFERENT UNIVERSE ENTIRELY! It's like veggietales or Loony Tunes where the same characters are used in different stories with similar archetypes attached. The rules between these two games could be, and probably are, completely different and you can't just assume that "sans did this in undertale" means ANYTHING for deltarune at all! There actually IS evidence in deltarune that monsters aren't made of blood (a monster asking if it hurts to be made of blood) but you didn't bother to brining that up at all. Stop assuming shit is true about this game because of a completely different game!
The only thing of any real note you added here was at the very end about noel, and then you didn't elaborate. I'm tired of people acting like sans is more important than he is.

It's really interesting to hear other people's theories and opinions
However I personally disagree with this theory because :
    - Lancer and king's designs were made by someone else wayyyy before deltarune was released or made
    - I think it would be a huge stretch to imagine that toby made sans' design reminiscent of these 2 while deltarune didn't even exist yet (sorry if that isn't clear)
    - i think the reason why sans is the only character to keep his Undertale clothes in deltarune is because he's the only Undertale character to wear "normal" clothes, like clothes you'd see in everyday life
    - for the enemies running away thing, I'm pretty sure everybody knows this at this point but at the release of chapter 2 you could actually kill enemies with Noelle, and they would actually turn into dust (this got patched anyway but there's no way that's not significant). I personally think the reason why the enemies run away is so it would affect the ending too much, to stay coherent with this whole "1 ending" thing
    - everyone's gonna insult me for this but I'm convinced the blood bucket and sans bleeding things are just huge oversights
    - I'm personally think that pretty much all of the sans/lancer or whatever teleporting sequences are just meant to be gags and not taken seriously
Yes, i know not everyone is gonna agree with this, but I just wanted to share my opinions in a less... agressive way than what other people do 😂
Feel free to tell me your opinions on all of this but PLEASE, don't do it like "uuuuh, what you said is completely stupid because ...". I'll gladly hear everyone's opinions, as long as it stays respectful and doesn't make me sound like a retarded moron or something

What if the Angel’s Heaven is a metaphor for Asriel’s college? He was an Angel in Undertale and the computer in Kris’s room shows that he looked up when summer break is. Also, Queen is a representation of every characters mom depending on who she interacts with. We barely see her interact with Ralsei. Toriel brings up Asriel, but obviously he’s not there so we don’t see them together. While that could just be coincidence, consider the Delta Rune symbol. It’s on Asriel’s clothes when he becomes an angel.

I think Sans pretended to bleed by using magic, because he wants to make player sorry and regrets doing genocide and reset game to complete it in pacifist way. Especially since he know we have ability to reset and colour sprite in undertale means useing a lot of power like used during Omega Flowey and Asriel battle.
I'm not the autor of that teory above. I think I saw it once on channel called Underlab and I think even thou it's simple it appeals to me more. However rest of your theory is pretty good and interesting.
