I always felt that the souls represented the traits that the monsters needed to learn.
Yeah. When you fight Papyrus, he's noticeably having doubts about capturing you, but still attempts to. He's not doing what he's starting to think is the right thing. Undyne, while being kind to people close to her, and not really disliking many monsters, has the blatant hate for all of humanity. She's being unkind and unfair to humans, judging them all for the actions of long-dead humans. Mettaton is acting without much justification during his fight, attempting to kill you simply because he thinks you'll die later anyway, which would be bad for way more people, when he's barely even seen you fighting.

@@demonprincess9680 In retrospect she makes this idea fall apart a bit. I did have this idea, but it's a bit of a stretch: we usually see Muffet trying to solve the spiders' money problems all at once. She charges way more money than the spiders in the ruins, scares people into buying them, and accepted what is essentially a hitman job just for that money. She's trying to take quick ways out, when the more rational (but difficult) approach would be to persevere. Hence she needs to learn perseverance.
Very good theory! There is however, one issue. At the very end, you stated “it is possible, trough some dark experiments that he had alphys conduct, he brought them back to life as monsters” that might work except for Gaster. Gaster came BEFORE Alphys.
Well, it could be the ghost in the Ruins too.

Normal undead are said to be born out of strong emotion of the soul which all of them seem to have over the top emotions at time or over extracted traits ie. Paps seems to be unconditionaly kind and compassionate no matter what

Omg, this is actually very similar to my own theory. I came up with this around September of last year, so a little bit after this video was posted, but it bears a striking resemblance!!
I wrote this at around the end of November and posted it to the UnderTale Amino, these words are an actual copy/paste of my original theory:
I have a pretty long theory, that I've been waiting for recognition on for a pretty long time. This post contains spoilers, and may contain absurd or triggering ideas. Feel free to argue against the validity of this theory in the comments below.
Have you noticed that there are quite a few undead monsters in Undertale? Let's see, there is: Papyrus, Sans, Mettaton (used to be a ghost), Napstablook, Mad Dummy, and Gaster (if you believe he is a skeleton). If you don't believe Gaster is a skeleton, he may be replaced by the ghost in the Ruins. Now, I believe anytime a human dies *IN THE UNDERGROUND (a high place of magical concentration)* (therefore, why Chara has no monster equivalent, as well as having their soul originally absorbed by Asriel) that a fragment of their soul is fractured and it forms a new monster. Yes, yes, it may sound crazy, but hear me out. There are 7 human souls, and 6 monsters that can be classified as being an undead version of what a human could be. I believe that when that fragment of the soul splits off from the main soul, the virtue passed on or rejected to/by the monster. It is either accepted or rejected and reduced to almost nil/turned opposite. So, now on to explaining the monster equivalent of the souls. Papyrus is probably the fragmented green soul, as the soul is closely associated cooking and kindness. The weapon and armor associated with the green soul is the frying pan and apron, and Papyrus certainly loves cooking. Also, what monster is more kind than Papyrus? He, in fact, hosts you as a guest in his house very politely, goes on a date with you, and puts much time and effort into making sure the human has a good time (making people endure puzzles is normal and how most monsters have fun, according to Papyrus).
Secondly, I believe Sans is the fragmented yellow soul, as it is closely associated with justice. Now, Sans is very lazy, and will rarely take action- yet, at the end of the game, he is literally your judge, and will fight you, bring you to justice, and literally uses your sins against you in the form of his "Karmic Retribution" (Retribution is also a kind of synonym for Judgement). And also... those Gaster Blasters are an awful lot like guns, no?
Third, I believe Napstablook is the fragmented dark blue soul- a soul closely associated with Integrity. Now, this is a case where it was rejected. Napstablook is very shy, and socially anxious. A person of Integrity is outgoing and doesn't take insults to heart, and will stand up for themselves. Napstablook takes all insults you give him to heart, and even goes into a fit of despair if you give him a cruel look after he shows you his "Dapper blook" apparel. If you name Chara "Napsta" in the character naming menu, it shows that "they're powerless to stop you." They didn't stand up for themselves. Also, the blue soul has ballet shoes and a tutu as armor and weapon... the only one of the souls associated with music. And what is Napstablook? A dj.
Fourth, Mad Dummy is another case of rejection of virtue. I believe he is the fragmented cyan soul, as it is associated with patience. He is extremely impatient with you, and immediately attacks you all-out after you encounter him in the waterfall garbage dump. Also, that one knife he uses, and the toy knife that is the associated with the cyan soul... coincidence? I think not!
Fifth, I believe Mettaton is the fragmented purple so, as it is associated with perseverance. Now, the reason their is a difference between perseverance and determination is that per. is lasting through anything, enduring the toughest times, yet determination is pushing forward to bigger and better things, going on and on. Mettaton is the star of the Underground, who lept forward and took the opportunity for Alphys to make him a new body, and to leave Blook farm. And he wants to push on to go to the overworld (yet is stopped by you, even though in the true ending he becomes a star above ground as well). Also, after using the secret key obtained from Bratty and Catty to go into MTT's house, you discover he had an obsession with keeping diaries, and would buy one of them for each new entry. Now, the journal weapon (associated with the purple soul) is the ONLY WEAPON in the game you can buy an unlimited amount of. Only the tough glove can be found twice, and that is because... well, gloves come in pairs.
Speaking of the tough glove, this next one is a bit of a stretch. I believe either Gaster or the ghost in the Ruins is the fragmented orange soul. If it is Gaster, I believe he fell into his creation because he was reckless. If it is the ghost in the Ruins, there is some evidence as it does not move, nor does it take any action against you if you destroy its body.
And now, looking back on this, there is one more thing I have noticed. Every skeleton on the list kept their virtue- they're closer to being human and therefore retain a corporeal body. However, the ones who rejected their virtue are ghosts, and are formed without a corporeal body- further from being human.
Now, some of this is a big stretch, yet there was just too much evidence for me to ignore it.

HOLY SHIT THIS COULD ACTUALLY BE LEGIT. you gave a lot more evidence than underlab did, and even a little bit of Soul Science (TM). i was skeptical at first when i saw the underlab video, but you have completely convinced me. 11/10
I think this needs more recgonition. Do you have this written down somewhere on a blog or something? Maybe even make a video out of it :D I like your theory, and I completely agree with Sans having the yellow heart/soul for justice...considering he's a form of judgement. It just makes more sans to me.
And the notebook theory blew me away -- I've never bought the notebooks before, so I never knew that there was an unlimited amount of them to buy! That's very interesting, and it really does make you question "why" @ Toby's planning.

I have a new theory.
I want to start with Sans, as he is actually the most interesting in terms of theory fodder.
Sans seems to have two sides to him. A laid back jokester, and a serious judge of sins. He could be not one soul, but rather two souls together. The jokester is Patience, and the judge is Justice.
Item evidence: The Gaster Blasters are gun-like. Also, when you get dunked on, bones come from the bottom and pierce your soul, like a knife.
Now, Papyrus. Papyrus is very brave, wanting to fight in the Royal Guard and has the guts to face you in Genocide. He has a scarf that looks a bit like a bandanna. Papyrus has gloves as well.
Mad Dummy? Mad Dummy is Chara. Not only does Mad Dummy have a real knife, but Mad Dummy keeps trying to win. He's willing to fight you forever to fulfill his dreams. He's determined to win.
Mettaton is Perseverance. He never gives up, no matter how much he hates Alphys's plan, and never gave up on his dream, even if it meant leaving Napstablook.
He also writes in journals, akin to Perseverance.
Napstablook is Kindness. He's very kind and understanding towards Frisk.
Ruins Dummy is Integrity. They stay there because it's their duty as a training dummy to be there for people to punch. Doing their duty. Doing the right thing? This one has the least evidence, but still.

You said something about Alphys bringing them back to life somehow, but that can be easily disproved two ways.
1. The last time Alphys tried to do something like that, she fucked up.
2. Gaster was there first. Alphys jumped into the Royal Scientist position after Gaster fell to his death.
and 3. napstablook, mad dummy (before being a dummy) and hapstablook (mettaton) were still ghosts when alphys became royal scientist cause she talked to hapstablook first and then offered mettaton's body

BetaPoltergeist Maybe there was a Royal Scientist before Gaster. He turned Gaster into a Skeleton and maybe later made him his assistant. Then the old Royal Scientist died and the job of reviving the humans into monster was given to gaster. Then gaster got wiped out of existence and was replaced by Alphys. But before he got wiped out he managed to turn the last human into a monster.

What about ruins dummy? he's the mad dummy's cousin, and if he's a monster, then how is he the mad dummy's cousin? I also disagree with gsster being undead. I think mad dummy is Bravery, and the ruins dummy is patience, and the two souls fell down together and died at separate times. What do you think? leave a comment..
It's confirmed that Mad Dummy and the Ruins Dummy are cousins, and Mettaton wrote in his diary that his cousin left the farm to become a training dummy. So I think that Mettaton, Blooky, Mad Dummy, and Ruins Dummy are cousins. But I don't know how this fits in this theory though.

Now, you say that the mad dummy used to be patience, but all the other undead monsters kept their traits, and the mad dummy went crazy. Now, let's say that sans was patience. He is lazy and waits to fight you until the end. If he was truly justice, he would have fought you before undyne transformed into undyne the undying, for killing his brother, because that would be enough, but he waits until the end when you killed everyone except for Asgore and flowey. The mad dummy is now justice, and that makes more sense if he still had the trait of justice. Even if he has mostly greed, evidenced in the fight because he wants to be in a window of a fancy store. But he still has a little bit of justice for avenging his cousin. Also, he probably thinks that having the humans ban the monsters to the underground is unfair and wants justice. 💥 not to say your theory is bad, but I think this better explains the mad dummy and sans. Mostly the mad dummy.
Actually, sans is Patient Justice. His eye flashes yellow and light blue. Very subtle wonk from Toby.
i personally believe that sans is integrity as he judges you based on your actions and acts as your moral compass in a sense
My theory about why he waited is that he could only beat you when karmatic retribution was active. and he can only use KR on you after you kill enough monsters. or else he wouldn't even be able to kill you ONCE. He may be justice, but he's also smart. ya dig?

in a way they all lost their trait and Frisk helped them regain it or tried, at least. obviously mad dummy lost 'his' patience and... went mad, Frisk attempts to force 'him?' to be patient but Nabstablook gets in the way. I don't think I need to explain that Nabstablook has no persistence at the beginning but slowly and surely becomes more persistent. Papyrus, though we may not notice it is very mean to his brother, on that subject as stated somewhere here Sans refuses to confront or 'judge' you until the end of the game, with furious but justified retribution. I don't believe Gaster is bravery or human at all for that matter, but instead the dummy in the ruins was bravery, as said by 'his' 'cousin' 'he' was scared right out of 'his' dummy by what WE said to 'him'. Finally Mettaton has NO integrity or even morals when we first meet him but then we try to help him, despite all our efforts we fail, but he does regain his integrity and moral after hearing his fans over the phone. and there you have it an almost perfect change/ back-up to Underlab's theory.

I've heard a theory that Undyne gives the player that one shield that is used to block her attacks.
Update: If you avoid her first attack too many times, then she will mention that she gave you a spear to block with, and that you should actually use it.
This is pretty accurate for me, especially the Bravery part.

And, some of those monsters, I don't think were even around when the war originally happened so Frisk ended up being the first human to survive long enough for them to actually get to know

And blooky can interact with the material plain and ghosts cant because the are souls who can't to that... was he (and metteton) born a ghost, or were they originally a monster or human, or maybe just maybe there was more ghosts and they are the only two left... that's my theory anyway. if u read all of this THANK YOU SO MUCH!😃

Oh, not to mention that there's all those Dummy minions that Mad Dummy hires.
Notice how in the Muffet fight you have to keep going like perseverance until the spider brings a newspaper, and in the Undyne fight you get a shield to dodge the attacks
Theory, assuming that Gaster is their father: Gaster, Sans and Papyrus when they were human went on a camping trip to Mt. Ebott. Papyrus wanted to explore a bit more, and they fell down the hole into the Underground. They got killed by Asgore trying to escape. Asgore felt bad so he turned them into skeletons. Gaster was a scientist so to thank Asgore for reviving them, he started working with Alphys and Sans once he was older to try and give monsters DETERMINATION. But, hey! Thats just a theory! A GAME THEORY! Thanks for watching.

From what I know, Wing Dings Gaster created Sans/Papyrus. He gave them the ability to learn, and feel. He fell into the imploding space time core and Sans and Papyrus seemed to just pop into existence.

Point 1: The mad dummy's fight he says that you will be stuck fighting him forever, which is a clear showing of patience, and point 2 is that Gaster's experiment shows bravery.

One thing that disapproves this theory is the end of the neutral route when one of the characters (I think Papyrus) says that the souls have disappeared.
That doesn't disprove this theory since the souls were already separated from the monsters

Well, can't say I haven't wanted to share this for a while now. This is a theory I came up with, hm... 7 weeks ago? And yes, I did watch the full video before posing this comment, I promise.

some things may be misspelled, nonfactual, incorrect, or just plan dumb.

Chara is our starting point. After death, Chara remained conscious in their body, but unable to move. When Frisk falls on them, their determination wakes their spirit and they're able to leave their body. What's this got to do with Sans and Papyrus? Well, they're skeletons, basically walking corpses, and the Underground is, well, under ground, where bodies are usually buried.
Let's say Sans and Papyrus were humans very long ago. Maybe they fought in the human-monster world. They died, and were buried on the war site, which is common in away from home wars. They're bodies decompose in about 3 years, giving humans enough time to win the war and force monsters Underground.
Now what? Chara only stayed awake because when they and Asriel died, they lost their Determination. Well, what if Sans had Determination as a human? He used it rarely, and he honestly didn't care, he liked living around monsters because he didn't really care about them... Then the war started, he went just because Papyrus was going. On the war front, he watched his brother die. He froze, and himself was killed.
He lost his Determination when his brother died before him, like Chara.
*The rest of this theory involves Gaster and just pure speculation, no evidence in the
game can back this up other then the Gaster Blasters and the Aster
typeface.*
About 10 years pass, Sans and Papyrus are skeletons, found during a dig to make the Underground larger, and brought to W.D. Gaster for experimentation. With Determination from Asgore's human child, he manged to create a soul and awaken the first of the brothers, Sans. But he seems to have no motivation, no Hope (HP), useless in battle if he's easily taken out. So, he does the same for the other brother. Papyrus is easily awaken with hardly any Determination, he shoots right up and begins talking. For a moment, Sans in tears, hugs his brother. Only to be greeted by "Hello there, do I know you?"
Papyrus had forgotten everything he once was. Of course he did. He wasn't like Sans, cursed to never truly die, never fully forget. Realizing this, Sans came up with a fake story for his brother in the monster world. Saying they had been in an accident that wiped both their memories, and their other brother, Gaster, manged to save their lives.
And that's about it.
Sans died, lost his Determination as a human, and re-awoken like Chara.
And I can hear the three people who actual read this saying "But Chara didn't become a walking corpse, they're a ghost!"
To that I say, Chara didn't directly get Determination injected into them, like Sans and Papyrus did.
"But what about the Determination experiments?"
Those are monsters that Alphys put way too much Determination into. Sans and Papyrus lost their souls and had new ones made.
"Flowey didn't have a soul and was filled with Determination"
Flowey use to be a monster, Asriel. Sans and Papyrus were humans.
"What about Napstablook and his cousins?"
They were born ghosts. I mean it's "Blook family farm"
Going with this theory can add a bit of a happier ending to Chara. Go back to the Underground, inject their bones with Determination, and vola! You've got your Chara back as a flower covered skeleton with full memories. The body only takes 1-3 years to decompose, especially around plant life, so they must already be a skeleton.

While this theory does make sense, it seems a bit of a stretch. How would humans become monsters? In the determination experiments, there was not once a mentioning of Alphys experimenting on human corpses. Also, if they truly were necromanced humans, then why don't you ever see their souls when they die? They would still be humans after all, even if they took on a monster form. You would think that their souls would react much like a Boss Monster soul and stay there for a few
moments and then shattering. But they don't.
Also, at the end of a true pacifist run, if you go into the coffin room, all the coffins are empty. You could assume that the dead humans could have gotten their souls back. But even if that did happen, they would still be human.

Oh, your logic does make sense! Of course the theory is a bit of a stretch, but what theory isn't? Well, er, I guess you could get theories more ridiculous than this one (see 'Sans is a banana and Papyrus is an apple'...). As for Alphys experimenting with corpses, we do know she experimented with determination at some point, and how else did she get access to that without humans? Maybe she made it with a chemical formula or something, but who knows. Isn't that device in the true lab called the determination extractor? Well, what to extract determination from other than the bodies(?) of humans? Just a thought!

They were probably are experiments, and I bet bravery went down second.
It seems like that he has at least half of every soul and in a previous theory you made of sans might of injected determination in him, well maybe he wanted some of that power for himself so he took some from each soul and injected it into him which could explain why he bleeds (Or is it ketchup because he loves eating it). Or maybe sans was actually made in the lab and papyrus as well and papyrus only had a nice and justice soul and the nice soul took over more. Maybe Sans and Papyrus are experiments and that is why they showed up there one day and there father is W.D. Gaster because he probably used his DNA to create them. That makes a lot of sense now. They are experiments, maybe they were suppose to be plan "B" or something to escape but failed. Actually that makes so much sense now that I think it good be true, who else probably think my theory is true?

I think sans is a monster and not a skeleton from a dead human. Because if that was true then sans would have not bleeded once you kill him in the genocide route. The reason why papyrus shows no blood is because when you strike him down his costume covers up the blood.

Who were sans and papyrus before being skeletons (skeletons are undead, what were they before death) wellllll.....
I believe papyrus and sans, as kids, were going to go play on the mountain. Papyrus wanted to play cooking up there, so he brought an apron and a pan. He ran ahead of sans to get set up. as he was running, he tripped and fell down into the underground. Papyrus was green, or kindness. when sans realized he wasn't there, he went to go tell his parents. After a search, they couldn't find papyrus, so they gave up. This wasn't enough for sans. He needed his brother back. He went back to the mountain and investigated it all around. He found and marked the hole, then began running home so he could get his notebook in case he made any little scientific discoveries while there. he got his book. cleaned his glasses, and ran out and up the mountain He jumped down the hole. Sans was purple, or Perseverance. Upon going down there, he just went right past torial, right through the door, and so on. He walked until hotland, where he saw his brother's dead body. He just sat down and stayed next to the body until he died of dehydration.
-years later-
Two skeletons were all that was left of them. They were found, and experimented on until sans woke up and just stayed in the lab, waiting for them to finish waking up papyrus. They both remembered nothing except they were brothers.

Papyrus is always moving around you have to move around during an orange attack. Papyrus wears orange. Spaghetti sauce is orange. Sans never moves. He telaportes. You have to stay still during a blue attack. San's eye goes blue in the sans fight and sans wears blue. Papyrus wants to be brave and go in the Royal Guard like Undyne Sans is patient with the human and only fights them at the end of the game when they have killed everybody.

Patience - Sans
Bravery - Papyrus
Perseverance - Mettaton
Kindness - Napstablook
Justice - Mad Dummy
Integrity - Ruins Dummy
Eh, i feel more like Papyrus is integrity. He knows not to gaster blast you. And he know what's right for the underground. And Alphys would be justice because of how she completes mettaton to kill Frisk. Because they kinda deserve it. Ruins dummy wasn't human. Undyne would be bravery. Because how she faces off with a human. The underground doesn't know much. The human could have Gaster blasters, fire magic and etc. It's very unpredictable
I like this theory. But a hole in it is that Paps doesn't seem to know what a human looks like, ( he DOES think you're a rock.) not to metion Mettatons other, soul, the one you shoot in the EX fight. ( that one also appears as a heart, not a spade looking thing I might add.)
1.Papyrus didn't think you where a rock. He was referring to the rock behind you. Also, Papyrus could just not remember his life as a human.
2. That's not what Mettaton's soul looks like. His looks like any other monster soul. The "soul" you see in his fight is a heart shaped core he is possessing. It also powers the Mettaton EX body.
Jamal Jabaieh ok, I concur, with your statement.It makes sense Papyrus (or any of the other guys) wouldn't remember because they DO have different souls, if they were originally humans. But there another hole in this theory, he says at the end of the video, Alphys might have done some sort of experiment to bring Sans, Paps, Mettaton, Blooky, Mad Dummy, and Gaster, back to life. The problem is that Alphys made a body for METTATON, (saying it was a robot with a soul) to show Asgore to become the royal scientist. So that rules out that Alphys made mettaton or Blooky (who was still in the blue house when Mettaton left to help Alphys) OR probably Mad dummy either. As for the skelebros and gaster, Who knows of Alphys brought them back from the dead?! I'm not sure.

I have an addition to this theory, although I’m 7 years late. It’s still fun to comment, I guess. You seemed to forget about Mad Dummy’s cousin, the dummy in the ruins. So I propose the dummy you encounter in the ruins is the Patience Soul. I mean think about it, he was extremely patient to be corporeal if they waited long enough. The Toy Knife and Faded Ribbon, aka the Patience Soul’s belongings are also located in the ruins. Coincidence? I think not! But this would also contradict the Mad Dummy’s past human soul. So maybe the Mad Dummy is actually Bravery. I know this would also contradict Gaster’s past human soul. But I’ll get to that. So the Mad Dummy did show Bravery in trying to kill you, possibly bc of the relief that he’s immortal against your attacks, but bravery nonetheless…. ok that’s all I have but let’s just continue because even if there isn’t much evidence that he’s Bravery, by the process of elimination he’d be Bravery, showing the least of any other trait and having all the other undead monsters have the most of others traits than Bravery. So onto Gaster. Gaster could be Determination. While we aren’t dead, Chara is. And as we know from Flowey, Chara had determination, so was a determination soul. Matpat, aka Game Theory once said that Gaster could’ve injected himself with high amounts of Determination. Hence why he would be given the Determination soul. Matpat gave a LOT of insanely good proof and stuff on why he could’ve injected himself with Determination. So go watch his 3 part UnderTale series on W.D. Gaster. It’s really entertaining.

Sans is one of the few monsters, that used colors.
Let me explain:
When you fight Toriel, her eyes are reddish-brown (hard to see), and when you fight Asgore, he uses his determination to create a trident. Colored attacks are far more common than color in the monster's sprite itself - green can heal (or just required to spare), and blue/orange ones are harmless when you stop/keep moving.
Sans, however, has his eye glowing with his craving for JUSTICE, and with his PATIENCE to wait until the judgement hall. He is weak, but his PERSEVERANCE allows him to strike through your invincibility frames (purple soul's equipment gives you more invincibility frames, so KARMA should be considered as PERSEVERANCE's effect). His KINDNESS has limits, but he's so kind that even uses it to make his attacks harder uses *green* platforms. His INTEGRITY allows him to use blue mode, and his DETERMINATION is so strong, that he literally melts ("sweats") and *BLEEDS* with it after being defeated.
He is literally the only monster (except Asriel, of course) who showed all seven colors in battle. It's possible that he took six souls from Asgore to stop you, but it's unlikely - he wasn't morphed by them in any way, and Asgore probably wouldn't give souls to some monster just because they're saying there is someone doing mass killings outside. So, probably, as with Undyne the Undying, all colors/essences/traits were generated naturally.
This explains why Sans is so powerful. He has all things that makes monster strong.

I've been reading the comments to see if someone has already said it, but I guess I should point another fact:
At the end of the pacifist route, before fighting Asriel, all main monsters meet, right? So... why none of them seems to know who is Toriel? Like... She's the queen, right? and still, they don't know her? Unless... they appeared AFTER Asgore promised to kill every human that falls down (making Toriel leave the capital and never show up again).
Also, in Snowdin, they tell us how, one day, "two skeletons arrived", so Sans and Papyrus weren't there since the very beginning. Undyne tells us how she tried to fight Asgore and she was defeated.

Integrity: Papyrus shows integrity by sparing you when you are week.
Perseverance: Muffet shows perseverance by commiting her life to saving the spiders in the ruins. No matter the delay.
Kindness: Undyne shows you Kindness by giving you a spear to block her attacks with.
Justice: Mettaton shows Justice by revealing Alphys's plot.

An issue I saw was the humans died as CHILDREN, and they don’t look young. Also, Gaster was the royal scientist, and if he was a human brought back, how did Asgore let him oversee duties that could be sabotaged?

the monsters that the soul colors correspond to are muffet, sans, papyrus, alphys, undyne, and mettaton. the soul colors that correspond to to them in order are purple, blue, orange, yellow, green, and light blue. the traits in order are integrity (she eventually fulfilled her promise to the spiders), patience (he is very patient with you and others on pacivist and genocide), kindness (what is there else to say about this cinnamon roll?), bravery (she is brave in her actions, confessing the wrong she has done in the true lab), Justice (The name of her theme is literally spear of JUSTICE, she is also trying to get justice for what the humans have done to monsterkind), perseverance (he keeps going without his legs and even says "The show must go on").
