Between you and me, there's something odd going on with Sans and Papyrus. Though they're both skeletons, they're two extremely different characters! While that isn't necessarily something you wouldn't expect from two brothers, does it also explain Sans' mysterious behaviour...?
Papyrus humbly requested that bone puns be kept to a minimum this episode.

Papyrus can use gaster blasters too. If you spare him in a genocide route he'll tell you that if you didn't he would have used something a bit blasty.

If you abort the genocide route on Papyrus' fight he actually hints that he might have Gaster Blasters too, but doesn't use them because he doesn't want to hurt you.
Another thing I realized recently is that monsters are said to grow weaker the less they want to fight/hurt you. It is possible Papyrus never fights at his theoretical maximum, due to being too kind and nice and thus never wanting to hurt people. On the other hand, Sans is actively trying to make your life hell during his genocide fight. He is not being held back by any such unwillingness to fight.

kinguinpenguin If you go on the date after sparing him on genocide and click the bone box he says something about how it was a good thing he didn't use his special attack as it would have completely disintegrated you. This may very well hint that he has Gaster Blasters too.
There is an Easter egg in Undertale where if you call Papyrus while you're in his room, he'll say his special attack would've 'Blasted' you away.
Plus, sparing him on genocide would make him say he willcuse something a "bit blasty."

Papyrus does seem to know about Sans's knowledge of time and space because if you go into sans's room at the end of pacifist papyrus comes in and says "Was Sans pranking you through time and space? I hate it when he does that"

I'm pretty sure Papyrus has gasterblasters. He just doesn't use them because he's innocent. In fact, pretty sure it would've been his special attack, as if you check the box of bones in the date, Papyrus says something along the lines of you being blasted away if he used his special attack.
unoriginal name and he mentions something that makes it a whole lot more likely if you do genocide until Papyrus battle, then date him.
And at one point the dialogue in papyrus's fight says "Papyrus made a non-bone attack and spent a minute cleaning up his mistake" or something along those lines. And I think (thought I'm not sure) Toby confirmed those were gasterblasters.

That game is *FAN MADE* and not *CANON* to the original game. Who knows if Papyrus is stronger/weaker than Sans. Only Toby Fox knows that.

I think the reason Sans keeps secrets from Papyrus is this:
Sans knows the world is going to end without warning. That's a really depressing thing. He doesn't want to burden papyrus with this knowledge. After all, knowing Papyrus, Papyrus would break down. My theory is that he has told papyrus, but the resets happened. He felt he had to keep the secret. Over a depressing amount of resets, it became a habit for him to keep secrets from Paps.

Oh, and the game hints Papryus CAN use Gaster Blasters. During the date/hangout with Papyrus, killing Papyrus but bailing in the middle and going for a spare causes this dialogue to pop up if you investigate his box of bones (i'm paraphrasing): THOSE ARE ALL THE BONES I USED! IF WE DIDN'T BECOME FRIENDS, I WOULD HAVE HAD TO HAVE USED MY SPECIAL ATTACK. IT WOULD HAVE BLASTED YOU AWAY!

Yasinah Saddiq one unsubscribe won't hurt the channel. Underlab will make videos on whatever he wants (Undertale) because that is what the channel was made for. Oh and with the indication that since they use "bro", that they must be brothers, what if "bro" is just a synonym for "comrade" or "friend"? Some religious Christian folk for example with call each other "Sister Sarah", or "Brother Dave" for example? Which is also an example that "brother" does not necessarily mean "brother" in a "blood-related" sense :)

Personally, I never doubted that they were brothers. It's confirmed, pretty much. Also, Papyrus does appear without Sans often, particularly with Undyne.

I believe that Sans and Papyrus are not blood brothers. It's even likely that they aren't the same creatures. Sans might be a revenant and could have adopted Papyrus. I think that Sans was a human that was caught in the crossfire in the war and was killed, his body falling into the underground where he adopted Papyrus. I can elaborate, because this would fill in a lot of details about both of their characters and then some.

Very nice theory video here! :) Also, I think a good follow-up for this video would be one discussing how Papyrus is no less mysterious than Sans? I mean, once we think about it, how much do we actually know about him? I read a blogpost talk about this, that in essence "Sans provides the distraction and Papyrus goes unnoticed".
It got me intrigued, so it would be nice to see a theory vid here pointing out all the strange stuff Papyrus is linked to in the game. For instance, it's implied (after the update) in the aborted genocide route that he's able to use the Gaster Blasters, too.

Yes, in the japanese translation Sans refers to Papyrus as "little brothers"
There is age difference to consider, too.

If there is ever a sequel to Undertale, it should not be like the original. It should be a prequel or something dedicated to Gaster. Anything else would suck, in my opinion
Papyrus *IS* Gaster. I did a pretty complicated (like 9 pages) theory on it on Tumblr, but here's the short version:

Gaster is forgotten, so he is forgettable. Papyrus is forgettable (according to narrator Chara), and Sans doesn't want to forget.
Also Sans is *NOT* stronger than Papyrus!!! That is a huge misconception! (I can explain in intense detail as to why, if you like, but the best reason why Papyrus is just as strong if not stronger is the fact that Paps, CAN use blasters. He doesn't because he doesn't want to hurt you, and he mentions that he can use them if you hangout with him on a genocide run.)

me and my little sister are pretty much exactly like the brothers down to the bone AAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAH but seriously that's definitely how we are from what I know...but wait...WHAT IF I'M ADOPTED! it's all so clear now! haha I had to.
Here's my theory:
Papyrus and Sans aren't brothers. They're ADOPTED brothers. W. D. Gaster found them one day and decided to adopt them. He raised them with care. He made sure no one knew about them, for he was afraid Asgore would fire him because he thought he would think that he needed to spend time with his sons. He still had plenty of time to be with them, because he could alter time and space, which he taught to Sans. He taught Papyrus how to cook (how he did it, which wasn't very good) and he taught Sans magic. They learned to defend themselves and important life lessons and skills. They where a family, even if they where not technically related. One day, he was working on one of his creations, when something went horribly wrong. He died, his dust spreading across the floor. Sans, now old enough to care for himself, came in to see what happened. When he saw his father's soul on the ground, he was wracked with grief. He remembered his dad saying that he still had so many things to teach him and Papyrus. He absorbed the soul, which made him much more powerful and filled him with knowledge and strength. He ran to tell Papyrus, and he, too, was sorrowful. Sans told Papyrus to stay strong, and reminded him that nobody should know who or where they came from. They moved to the place they where adopted, and decided to live there. Papyrus cooked and did puzzles to keep his mind off his dad, and Sans told bad jokes.

They're skeletons with fonts for names and live together, also referring to each other as brothers. Papyrus and Sans' attacks are very much similar, and Papyrus is heavily implied to have weapons like Gaster Blasters as well. Although, even if by some ludicrously small chance they weren't blood related (?), you could still consider someone as family.

But see, Papyrus is never confirmed to be worse than Sans at all. But he's too nice to ever attack you with full force. It's also heavily implied at some point that he does indeed own Gaster Blasters.

Sans is probably stronger, due to his extra gimmicks/abilities, but, remember, Papyrus was holding back when he fought the player, since he was trying to incapacitate and capture, not kill. If he could get over his compassion and go all out, there's no telling what Papy could do, since Undyne admits that, compared to her, he's pretty strong and that's from someone who trained with Asgore doing the comparison.

This makes it harder to tell which brother is more powerful. Papyrus never had the intent of killing you and just wanted to be your friend, while sans (when you fight him) wants to smite you with a thousand judgemental death beams and then proceed to stab you 37 times in the chest with a thigh bone. If Papyrus had the same feelings as Sans when you fought him (feelings he might not even be capable of feeling because hes too cool), he might have had a similar magnitude of power

honestly, i think the two people mentioned in the dark darker yet darker entry are chara and frisk (assuming charas spirit follows frisk or chara is the player controlling frisk. choose your theory of choice). this would however either mean that the entry is written as you enter the secret room, or that gaster left them a message through time. whatever.

sans and paps are the son of gaster ,he created them with his DNA and gaster gave sans a little bit of determination to remember resets but not papyrus and gaster is responsible for creating artificial monster soul .sans and papyrus were the two of his greatest creation . sans work for gaster but one day gaster fell into his creation and stuck in the void and every one forgot him and even paps also forgot him but expect sans and gaster followers don't forgot him.
