@Nick L Trains I\'m not sure but ,if anyone else wants to uncover how to build a model railway layout try Pycanta Model Railroaders Protocol (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my m8 got amazing success with it.

Just started following - have you tried using/programming any LCS track and having it automatically switch for you... this is why I have decided to stick with Fastrack. I have a computer background and love how LCS has allowed so many uses of engine recognition and track manipulation
Cfox2000 Hello I'm sorry to bother you. I'm very new at this model railroading. What is LCS Track? Do you have a video on How-to-Install and run LCS? Thank you for your time Sincerely Allan
I intend to add this to my newest layout. I ordered the switches today. You could help me out while I wait by telling me how far apart the tracks are. My 2 tracks are on a shelf, how wide does the shelf need to be.
All of my O gauge trains create sparks when going over switches, is it because it’s not getting a good connection to the rails or did I not connect the track right? I get anxiety from even powering on the track so I’m just asking what it’s from
Thanks. I think it would. You just need 4 switches (2 right, 2 left) and a crossover. If you start experimenting I bet you can find a way to make it work.
Good morning, is it possible for you to identify each FasTrack rail used to assemble the CrossOver of your Layout. As I am not able to assemble the CrossOver, please inform me of each Lionel Fastrack code rail. With this information I will be able to identify what I am doing wrong. Thanks
Can't believe nobody asked....with that setup you have what does the spacing between tracks? Center rail to center rail? If you can because it looks mint!! Thank uou
I like the idea of using 072 switches and a 45 degree crossing. But for my O gauge layout I used the Lionel tubular track. I know that I can but a couple of Lionel 072 Tubular switches and after doing some searching it would cost me around $300.00 for purchase 2 pairs of 072. And I already have several 45 degree crossings. But I was wondering if will the switches a crossing will line up the same way as the Lionel Fast Track. If anyone has done this with tubular 072 switches please let me know.
Hello I'm sorry to bother you I was wondering if I could use the same technique, but instead of a 54" Radius Switch can I use a 72" Radius on the Double Main Crossover? Thank you for your time Sincerely Allan Martinez
Thanks for sharing, enjoyed watching, and relearning.
I am planning a new layout and this is a GREAT idea for space saving turnouts and cross-overs. Thanks for the info..
Thanks. This is definitely a good design and I would recommend. If you need any more information, I can definitely provide that.
Thanks for showing that crossover with those 072 switches Iam going to use 4 0 36 switches with that crossover.
Very well done with those cross over points. I would love to have something like that
Hi Sid,Great how to do video. I liked the train crossing over. Thanks for sharing.Nick

Very cool idea with the fastrack double crossover. Thumbs up.
Thanks. I wanted to have separate loops and the ability to have an infinite loop with a cross over.
We'd call this a double scissor in Australia.
It looks really good man.
Cool. Thanks.

Nicely done. I always wondered if it could be done that way.
Thanks. I took some trial and error but I got it to work
really cool lionel o gauge 12'x8' layout with/double reverse or 3 loops
Are you talking about my layout?
Just confusing based on the video topic
Thanks Sid!
Nice trains..Run very hard.
Thanks
That’s a great idea. Thanks for giving the details on what track you used. It’s very helpful and very inspiring!
Thanks. I try to be helpful and insightful in my videos
Looks great 👍
Thanks 👍
That's awesome, well done.
Thanks

I have but for the moment I have each pair set as the same number in the command system.

Do you need 4.5Inch and 2 1 3/4 inch on both sides of crossover?
Thanks
Yes
Sid,
Why when I connect crossover both inner and outer rails short out?
You have your wires on the two loops different from each other.
Перекрёстный съезд. Красиво!
Very nice! If I had the space, I'd do this style crossover.
Thanks Matt. Yeah, I like this style because it allows me to have continuous loop operation.
@@SidsTrains You're welcome! Btw, I'm not sure how you have them wired but I would wire them in pairs.
@@trainlover9943 they are command so I have them programed together.
@@SidsTrains Cool! I've got mine programmed the same way.
@@trainlover9943 Great minds think alike

14 inches
I recommend you put a Signal system in place. I built a crossover and almost had an accident
I don't have the cross over anymore. I am changing my track plan right now, but good idea.
how do you keep the tracks iisolated so you can run two seperate lines?
Great! Do you have the fastrack parts list? Thanks!

Wonderful. Could this crossover be had for G scale Model Rail Roads too?
Thanks. I think it would. You just need 4 switches (2 right, 2 left) and a crossover. If you start experimenting I bet you can find a way to make it work.
Sid - How big is your layout space? Also, could you post a diagram of your track plan? Sorry if I missed it somewhere else. Great job!! Thanks.....
My layout is roughly 160 square feet. Go check out Sid's O Scale Layout Update #3 for the track plan.
I love the double crossover Sid. It would be hard for me to fit it but it really looks great. Al
Thanks. It really is a great site to see.
Like the crossover.
Question: where do you get the Lionel Legacy electronic components, just watched the video with the Pennsylvania PS 1 locomotive
awesome video!!
Thanks
You just earned a new subscriber!
Thanks
I have one set of wires to the transformer, should I have two?

I used 0-72
The signal lights came with the switches and do they actually work as well for controlling the trains?
What do you mean?
@@SidsTrains there are signal lights at nest to the switches
Yes
Sid,
Do you run two trains with the crossover? If so any instructions on doing that? Thanks
what straight pieces did you use between the switches
I used a 4.5in and two 1 3/4in pieces.
@@SidsTrains Thanks, I enjoy your videos. Do you convert MTH engines to Lionel Legacy?
You're Welcome. Yes I do. Email me if your interested

Wow cool
What is the distance from center rail to center rail for the loops?
What degree are the switches? 30 degree? 22.5 degree?
So it's like another way of doing a double slip.
Yes
Is there a way I can do this but have it a way where I can make it go the other way too and switch back if I want
what degree curve switches did you use?
I use 0-72 for most
How did you wire all the section of tracks and switches?
Three are command switches an only one needs wiring for a controller.
I really like new intro man!
Thanks
Thanks
What are total dimensions
Holy $&@$ my guess is 27 feet of cars and not counting the Steamer.
Yep. That freight consists was about 30 ft long not counting the Locomotive.
Sid's Trains my guess was 31’
It's a 60 degree crossover - not a 45 degr
ee crossover!!
Did you watch the parade or Trump’s speech?
No
