  • Finally I´ve found some time to lay my O scale floor layout with the latest additions on it: the new LC+ electric loco I´ve shown in former videos, a MTH bay window caboose, a Lionel vat car carrying tropical fish food and another siding to park all this new rolling stock. Leave your comments, please and don´t forget to subscribe! Thanks for watching.

    This is much nicer than what I thought at first glance. Might build something similar. For those who are lacking space like me, you might try looking into a folding baseboard layout that can be stored under a bed.

    • @albersala1968
      @albersala1968  3 года назад

      A folding baseboard could be a good idea but in my case is not possible. I've got so many things under my beds that I can't keep more things. The only permanent layout I can have for the moment is the small N scale one you can watch in my channel. May be one day...

    I love the layout that you created with THREE trains! I'd go the floor route, too, but we live in a very small house and just zero space to leave something set up for more than a few hours. Some day...

    • @albersala1968

      I understand your point. I live in a very small apartment that's why I can't have a permanent O scale layout. Setting some tracks on the floor is the only way for me to enjoy running trains like these. You could start buying some starter set and running it on the floor from time to time. Those sets require very little space and are very easy to play with.
      Thanks for watching and for the compliments.

    When you finally make a shelf layout that runs around the room near the ceiling, then you can have great wide radius curves that will make the longer wheel base cars look great. I have done that and then have a long narrow table top o27 lionel layout for my 1950's trains. Yours run nice and slow and smooth. The audio effects and multiple trains on the same trackage is impressive. Have fun.

    • @albersala1968
      @albersala1968  3 года назад

      Your suggestion of a shelf layout around the room near the ceiling is very interesting, but like science fiction to me, Loretta. I would never persuade my wife to do such a thing. For the moment I must be happy to set the layout on the living room floor from time to time and enjoy running some trains. I'm glad you liked it anyway. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    How old are you? Trust me get it off the floor.! You'll be glad you did. It is some layout. Nice trains choice. Trust me you want to go bigger. I love model trains. I only found it more fun coming up with a new layout every year, around Christmas time. You got to hand it to Lionel and MTH. Electric trains just don't grow old they get better. By the way, the vista dome goes into the middle. A little FYI.

      Hello, Marc. I'm 52. I'm glad you like my layout. I live in a small apartment so the only way I can enjoy it is to place it on the floor from time to time and have it there for a few days. I know that the dome car goes in the middle but It keeps derailing in several places of the layout. That's why it goes behind the loco.
      Thanks for watching, Marc. I appreciate your interest and your comments.

    I love mth trains but there curbs are to sharp for a layout for passenger cars that’s why I use Lionel fast track the passenger cars don’t bend to bad on the curbs that’s why I used it on my permanent layout

    • @albersala1968
      @albersala1968  2 года назад

      I use these sharp MTH curves because I have very little place to set the layout. If I could I'd use larger radius curves because It would be more realistic.

    • @albersala1968
      @albersala1968  3 года назад

      La verdad es que cuando monto el circuito con estas "miniaturas" me lo paso cañón. El problema es el espacio (o mejor dicho, la falta de él) que no permite tenerlo fijo. Por eso sólo lo monto 2 ó 3 veces al año. Otro problema es que hay que traelos de los EEUU y sale bastante caro. Pero bueno, cuando los tienes aquí y lo pones todo en marcha te lo pasas genial. 😎

      Thanks for watching, Muye Akinkuotu. I don't know how to share the drawing of my layout but it's based on one you can find in www.mthtrains.com that is called Twice Around. It's about 4X8 feet. I made It a bit narrower and added some sidings to park more trains but the main design is the Twice Around plan I've told you before.

      My layout is based on one you can find in www.mthtrains.com that is called Twice Around 4X8 feet. I made it a bit narrower and added some sidings to have several trains parked. The track list of my layout is:
      - 21 MTH 40-1001 10" straight.
      - 1 MTH 40-1008 10" straight
      operating track.
      - 22 MTH 40-1002 O-31 curve.
      - 11 MTH 40-1012 5.5" straight.
      - 1 MTH 40-1016 5.0" straight.
      - 3 MTH 40-1017 4.25" straight.
      - 2 MTH 40-1004 O-31 right-
      hand switch.
      - 3 MTH 40-1005 O-31 left-hand
      switch.
      - 5 MTH 40-1024 track bumper.

    • @albersala1968
      @albersala1968  6 лет назад

      @@flemmingj1965 I'm not sure but I don't think you could build a layout like mine using O-42 curves. However you could build my O-31 layout and add an outer loop using O-42 mth tracks. As for the dead spot, you might try to connect a couple of feeder wires to the piece of track that loses electrical contact.
