Thank you Dr. Pal. I am 62 years old , and have been on IF for three months and I have lost 7 kgs. Your “lighthearted presentation”- in a serious way, is very motivating. Having successfully been on IF, you are able to give suggest ways , to overcome hunger, for me in my IF journey. I sleep better, am more alert and feel good giving my body the rest that I should have been giving, long time ago. I am particularly amazed by the circadian rhythm. Something I wish science/ biology books teach our children, at a young age.
Thank you. I will continue on this journey and want very much to make this my lifestyle.

    Hey Dr.Pal🙏🏻
I’m a massive fan of your work. Kudos.
My eating window starts 30mins post sunrise & ends 30-45mins prior to sunset. And I live in “Toronto”, which would explain how tight my eating regime is!!! (It’s like a very stringent 6hr eating window).
Yet I’m super comfortable in this space. Certainly a cup of aromatic Tim Hortons black coffee in the mornings works wonders in managing hunger. Since I wake up 5am everyday, my tactics to staying sane till sunrise is to divide 1 cup of coffee into 2 parts. And I sail through those 3.5hrs in the morning like a boat in the calmest of seas.
1cup black tea/coffee followed by bitter gourd juice with turmeric/ ginger lemon water/apple cider vinegar with glass of water etc are great options to diffuse hunger pangs and extend fasting window.

Started IF recently like a month ago. But unknowingly I’m doing the same suggested by Dr.Pal. Green Tea is the first meal around 10-11 ish in the morning, thus my lunch goes to around 12:30. By night 8 my dinner is served, I’m at a hostel and can’t help. Unknowingly I’m doing a 16-17 hour IF, and I don’t feel a thing. Yeah weight loss was a side effect, and I’ve been working out too. Important thing to consider is to take all the macro and micro nutrients within the time period and not to get devoid of them as the time is strict. Good luck y’all… All the power to you ❤

I'll share what actually worked for me. I start eating at 12pm-1pm in the afternoon. I know its not a long fasting period but guess what you're still gonna loose weight without loosing your sanity since you're gonna eat only three meals on your caloric deficit. Dividing a 2000 calorie into 3 meals is actually a 3 big meals and you won't even feel hunger. For the mornings, just hydrate. Drink plenty of water and you should be fine. All the best

great tips! Initially the protein premier 30g of protein drink at the end of the day (at around 5 or 6 pm latest) kept me thru' the evening to the next morning till 8 am. Once I realized that its not hunger but just a conditional response like you pointed out, I can get by with any non-caffeine herbal tea or simply boiled water with cumin and fenugreek seeds.

Drink black filter coffee. (Chukku filter kaapi). Try to make a weaker decoction so that you use less milk. Milk itself needs a lot of sugar. When you drink a milder filter coffee, you save on lots of calorie intake.

Dr Pal, I have been following your videos since a month and started doing time restricted eating habits .
Today what happened was I finished my dinner by 6 :30 PM . Then around 8 PM my neighbour gave me Prasadam from the Prashinikkadavu muthappan temple ( it was like some boiled brown chana with some coconut and a piece of dry fish ) . I thought of having it tmrw , but ate it without even thinking.
Now, I have terrible regrets. How can I overcome this kind of temptation?

Push your feeding window period to adjust your intermittent fasting schedule buddy

    • @Thepokerfanboy
      @Thepokerfanboy 8 месяцев назад +1

This not even a temptation. Rather a conditioned response of getting prasad.
      1. Don't regret it. "All or nothing" - thinking is what causes more people to fail. If you are serious about IF as a life style, today is just 1 day in a long series of days.
      2. Refuse food - even if it is prasad - after your eating window. Again it is a conditioned response of not being able to say No to prasad and thinking about keeping it. And we feel bad about it. Just say NO.

I get gas and sort of bloating if I remain hungry too long...water does not make the discomfort go away. Plus the increased hydration interrupts sleep too much (going to bathroom), and then I am tired the next day (sometimes I just cannot go back to sleep - so now I dont drink herbal tea/water close to bedtime). Difficult choices...do I want to play these Hunger Games?

I am doing 16-hour fasting. 8 hour eating window. 4: 30 pm to 8:30 Am. Might extend to 9.00 - 9.15 Am. Some times had to break early because of migraine headaches. 3 months now. 1 to 2 days had to break because of family get-together. Sometimes getting discouraged due to slow weight reduction. For me, i get hunger attacks after 11.00 pm to 12.00 am. Sometimes, like 2.30 am. I dont like the bitter taste of black tea. So i usually just endure it.

Doctor I don't have belly fat and all I'm already underweight for my age but I'm concerned abt my health.. I have vitiligo since 5th std and now I just turned 20 but it didn't cured yet, I normally eat a lot but I don't put weight at all i have high metabolism.. my dad cooks Mutton 2 Times a week and some fish once a week, he likes non veg so much, so we eat it thrice a week and sometimes more normally. I many times told him that I need veggies in my diet but he doesn't care. Im taking cyclosporine for last 1 year as per my dermatologist's prescription. I saw your videos and started eating more fiber & protein rich foods and completely avoided packaged foods. Me and my dad are cooking separately for ourselves now. I eat veggies more now and started buying nuts for daily consumption even though my father gets a bit angry abt my expenses. But When I started this 6am to 6pm eating thing I couldn't sleep at night, i sleep at 9 30pm sharp everyday. I noticed every 4 hrs I get hungry and I eat something good, thanks to you. I Wake up at 4am, do my routine and eat at 5 45 am (soaked almonds and walnuts) again i get hungry at 9 am so breakfast, at 2 pm lunch, dinner at 6 45but I couldn't really sleep at night I'm waking up at 12 am feeling really hungry and also weak, like my legs and hands are paining a little. The problem is i do mild work out everyday and I eat good and feel full but my weight is not increasing at all! I'm just 43kgs and 162 cm. My hand looks like a kids hand! Im trying my best and just want to put some weight, cure my condition and stop this hunger at night. What should I do? Please help me! I want to be healthy. Feeling hungry is not the problem I can resist it by drinking water at night as you said but I feel weak even though I eat good food and work out daily. Please help me! Love From 🇮🇳
