That saved my life, finally able to render twice as big on my laptop, in eevee and cycles also doesn't crash. Gonna do more tests, but both values set safe to 5 do not lock the system and GT 750M renders easily over 25MP. Thanks
Nice, 2 year old video and still pretty accurate. I’m running blender 2.9 on rtx2080. TdrDelay was already created in my registry but hexadecimal was set to 8. Changed it to decimal and typed 60. That seems to work. Thanks!

Bruh it worked. I had no idea what was causing all the crashes. I thought it was from enabling adaptive sampling, openCL nodes, or memory issues but it was just this reg edit trick.

Did this trick for blender 2.9 I used 64 bit instead of 32 bit when creating the registry files. Seems to be working. System loads quicker. Still getting time out error in blender. It is a pretty intensive render though. Okay, I did this fix but in addition I had to change my tile size. I was okay at 128 x 128 and samples down to 120. Im running 3gpu's rendering about 6 particle systems plus base meshes and camera animation.
I'm using blender 2.83 and it randomly breaks my gpu as Blender crashes and windows gets all glitchy and my screens keep flickering, it happens when I'm just modelling something simple, it's so frustrating
If you use this trick, the graphics adapter gets priority over everything. I have the impression that the computer does nothing else than waiting for the graphics adapter to complete its operation. Even Strg-Alt-Del does not work anymore. The keyboard buffer does not work anymore to read any Esc keys. So you will have to reset your computer if you want to stop rendering.
hmm. My keyboard remains responsive, even while it's doing the initial heavy calculations. I tested it at several points in the render process, including on the first tile, and it stops immediately when I hit esc.
I wouldn't delete anything necessarily, but if you delete anything you created in the registry editor, nothing should happen, it should be fine. however i would be very careful.

You can also enable Debug Mode in the Nvidia Control Panel if you're running an RTX card. Works like a charm.

What happens if one was to revert the changes in Registry Editor back to what it was before by deleting the additions?
I wouldn't delete anything necessarily, but if you delete anything you created in the registry editor, nothing should happen, it should be fine. however i would be very careful.
