What! Congratulations on ten years! You’re one of the most consistent, process oriented resellers. So focused! ❤
Congratulations on ten years Karen. I do like sold/pull videos. And I realize its because it motivates me. It shows that you can thrift, sell, and make a profit. I just need to put the work in. 😊 Thanks for showing us it can be done.
Oh my gosh, that Conair blow dryer brought back the memories! I remember the day I graduated from high school (1983) it was an unusually hot day in Portland, OR area (pushing 100!) I was trying to put my makeup on & do my hair, but I was sweating so much my makeup was melting off my face & it was much too hot to use a blow dryer inside. My wonderful dad ran a huge extension cord and I got ready in my car (a Volare, yep, I am dating myself:), which had amazing air conditioning. I was literally drying
my hair with that exact dryer in an air conditioned car, lol, so I could look beautiful for my graduation ceremony. 😅 Thanks for the fun memories ❤
Hey, I'm a class of '83 graduate too!! I miss my high school years.
@@hiyellagal 😊 We sure grew up in a wonderful era. We had the best music & life was definitely more simple then. I don’t miss my high school years though. I love where & who I am now, but I definitely remember those years fondly & still have many of the same friends I met in grade, middle & high school 😊xo
@@LindaKayHolevas You should have grown up in the 70s. (Class of '74) That's the best decade. Bee Gees still my all time favorite.
Congratulations Karen on 10 years selling on E-bay.
It's so amazing & also wonderful all the things you do everyday and have accomplished in the last 10 years. I bet sometimes it feels just like yesterday. So glad you found Roger that loves the same things you like to do. Makes life so much more fun doesn't it? A Big Thumbs-up to you Karen. 👍
What a way to make a living! How awesome! But who pays $200 for ghosts 😳 Just blows my mind. I'm just trying to figure out how to live off $40 for a week 🤣
Karen, yes you are a friend that I hear from twice a week. I really look forward to your videos. I also had that hair dryer. Your gentle manner and organizational skills inspire me. It's also fun to share your excitement and zest!
I always enjoy seeing your hard work! I’m 75 & I appreciate your energy & your beautiful neat & organized home! You have excellent taste!
It’s my 54th anniversary and I’m finishing up a great day watching Karen. I so enjoy your channel. It’s a wonderful education.
That's the only time I've heard leaves described as "uneventful". Never boring, ty.
Fear of Plugging in Old Electrical Items: common fear, but a few simple tips may help. Many of the older items were far better made. First, check for obvious wear or damage (frayed cords, loose screws, damaged plugs). If your still concerned, then plug the item into a power strip (that has a built in circuit breaker) that is turned off, so you are not actually touching the item to be tested, when power is applied. Then, when you are ready and clear of the object to be tested, flip on the power strip’s power button. If something sparks or arcs, flip the switch back off. If it has an internal short, it should trip the circuit protection built into the power strip. Then, unplug the power strip, followed by the item.
An alternative, to a power strip, would be to plug the item to be tested into a GFI/GFCI protected plug. GFI, or Ground Fault Protected plug (has the test and reset buttons on it) can be found in most house kitchens and baths these days and is designed to “trip” (turn off) the input power fast, if a short is detected.
As always, be careful and be safe.
You are amazingly organized Karen! That's part of the reason you are so successful. Don't ever say you are not organized. BTW - I love all your tassel earrings. They look so pretty on you.
Congratulations 🎉 Karen 👏. I watch all of your videos. You are such a lovely person and very informative. Here's to your next 10 years of thrifting! 🍷❤️
love the basement pulls the most. Great video Karen. Always learning something
Wow- you even scoped out the thrifting opportunities before you moved- you are the most disciplined and intentional you tuber- so inspiring. I live in a resort town- great items, very high prices.
Someone told me to put coffee grinds and water in a vase and just shake it around to clean it. It works on coffee pots and it did clean the vase that I got at a yard sale. It wasn’t anything special but it was a size I wanted.
You are my favorite YT thrifter because you are so kind, sweet, funny and just "real". Also, I relate to you as I was also raised on LI and am fairly close in age to you (although I'm a bit older as I had already graduated college when Charlies Angels aired -- I'm 67). And yes, I definitely had that very Conair blow dryer!
same here
Thank You Karen for brightening our days with your kindness, grace and angelic voice! I LOVE thrifting with you! Thank You and Congrats! 💐😍🎉😊
Wow ten years! Congratulations. You are so right about the friends. My kids laugh at me because I say "my friend Karen." Lol
Congratulations my friend on your ten year anniversary ❤.
I was so glad to hear you talk about your viewers as friends even though maybe not in person. I have a short list of RUclipsrs that I follow regularly and you are at the top of my list. Wednesday & Sunday every week I get comfortable with a cup of tea and catch up on your week. I often thought it was strange to feel like you guys as friends and it’s nice to know you feel the same.
I love all your videos but love that you include a little about your family and Roger too. I remember one of the hurricanes in Fl, and a lot of your followers were asking about Mellisa and Bear’s safety and offering prayers for them. You’ve built a lovely community that really cares about you ❤
I’m so happy for your well earned success and happiness. Wishing you all the success for another ten years !!! Lol, well maybe not that long you may want to retire at some point.
I am amazed at what someone paid for the Halloween blow molds And it appears that one of them is missing the item it was carrying. Just goes to show us that we should list our imperfect items.
The last supper pic is amazing - would be great in a mid century dining room!! love it
Congrats. Narrow neck vases…try cleaning with warm water, vinegar, detergent and dry rice. Swirl and swirl.
🎉Congratulations! 🎊. That last red, heavy vase you picked up is a Princess House piece, believe it was a hostess gift. Beautiful ❤️
Oh, I definitely had that hair dryer!! Always learn something new every time I watch your videos. Thanks for your content!
Congrats Karen, Always a great video!!! Enjoying as I list Inventory!!
I always enjoy your videos. Your store is so variable in hard goods and so solid in clothing and soft goofs. The value is always there.
Congratulations on 10 years!!!
Hi Karen: I take my hat off to you, my problem is I am not consistent, I wished it was easier to list items on eBay!!! You and Roger are looking so good together! He is a keeper!!!😊
Colonial Drawer Pull sale: I sell a lot of vintage hardware. I may photograph them with the bolts screwed in, but do not store or ship them that way. The protruding bolts can scratch up the finish on the pulls stored loose in the bag. Especially true of the shiny brash finish.
Instead, after (or during photography, I take the bolts out and line them up under the handles so the lead photo shows the buyer how many handles and bolts they’re getting. I also include a photo of a bolt laying adjacent to a machinist’s ruler, to show bolt length. I use the same ruler for mounting hole spacing on the pulls reverse view and overall size on the front view photos.
Then, I store the bolts separately in a small ziplock, put in the larger bag with the pulls. Having the bolts separate also helps with the packing/shipping. I lay a few pulls (4-6) on a layer of thin sheet foam (bubble wood also work) and roll them up to keep them separated from each other. Then I cube up those bundles in bubble.
This way I can often ship them out in a Padded Mailer, rather then a box. Once the weight exceeds 16 ounces, I use a Priority Padded FR mailer. Having the bolts out allows them to be packed tightly, with less concern that the product will puncture the bubble wrap. You can ship a lot of hardware in a Padded FR Mailer.
The sheet foam is thinner and wraps tighterthen bubble wrap, but is much stronger then tissue paper.
Ten years looks good on you kid! You are a thrifting icon! Love you and your channel.😉🤑
I often wonder why Goodwill sells sets as separate items. I believe this is their way of making more money on items they should have been sold as a set to start with.
I love when you do these
Congratulations on 10 years!! You are so inspiring, and one of my favorites! ❤️
I'm impressed how you can find all your items. I can't even find my own shoes.
Hi😃 I believe that The Last Supper mirrored picture is from Home Interiors. I had one years ago. Very beautiful piece! Great find!
Congratulations on 10 years! My husband and I met you in a Goodwill in Lancaster last fall and you were so nice! You are right about the area being a great place to "pick". We can't wait plan another Pickin in Pennsylvania trip. From Karen in Virginia!
I appreciate your channel and the positive nature of it. At the same time I wonder if you have any of the same struggles I hear from other resellers like scammers, returns, no payments, etc.
Thank you for this video. Congratulations🦋👏 You are great to listen to. You are so funny🥳 I am much older than you, so I have had many of the items on those shelves.. Love to see you and your channel grow 🎉 God bless
The glass bird was a Goebel figurine from the 90s. It is lead crystal and worth about $25.
The fish vase may be a wether bottle. Clean the inside of vases with denture tablets or a combination of vinegar and barkeepers friend. Not that bottle, though … too narrow. 😉
How do you keep looking younger ❤️. I’ve been watching the earlier videos & you look more amazing every day. Great videos, great information. You keep inspiring me, Thank you.
Yes. Karen is a beautiful lady and kind!
My opinion: I think she is overall HAPPY, and enjoys her profession, has a handsome beau, her kids are doing well, and she is living her BEST LIFE. She does present as radiant. (It is the stress, and depression, and bad diet, which ages us.)
What's love got to do with it!! :)
@@grayciesmom5807 My point is that her life appears to be balanced. Nothing more and nothing less in the domains that represent stability: health, socialization, work, spirituality, love, etc... Love is only one part of the equation of striving for absolute happiness. To love and be loved by others and your family...
Mine was a poor reference to a Tina Turner song! I should have just said being a love has a positive effect. So happy for you. And thanks for the videos.
SURPRISE! THERE'S ROGER! 🤩
Loved this shopping trip ~ Amy 😍
Yes, very true, we say “Interesting” when we are not really interested. I say “ I’ll think about it” when I’m not sure but end up leaving it 99% of the time.
Makes me want to move to central Pennsylvania for all the good stuff and houses with basements. But I’m from Texas and hate cold weather 🫤
The missing bell piece is called the ding-a-ling. But what do I know? I make stuff up too! Like that lol
27:30 I believe the Last Supper mirrored art ISN'T vintage because I've seen those for sale at stores like Ross and Burlington about 6 years ago, both gold-colored ones like that and multi-colored. If it feels plasticy and lightweight, it's probably what I remember and, therefore, not worth picking up.
10 yrs! congrats! You are my inspiration Karen, thx
I had that hair dryer. It was the last thing my grandma bought me before she passed.
I love, love, love ginkgo leaves. I think maybe others do too.
I think you & I are about the same age & yes, I had that same blow dryer "back in the day" when we all wanted to style our hair like Farrah Fawcett! 😆
Love your videos, your basement is amazing! Congratulations on 10 years !!
A big CONGRATULATIONS to you for 10 years on ebay!! Love your organization in your basement...very well arranged. Thanks for all the lessons and teaching you give!!
Yes, I LOVE what solds!! 🎉
Love Farrah Fawcett hair!!
Congratulations Karen!! I just stumbled on your channel and I have to say thank you for all your wonderful tips!! You’re so knowledgeable and encouraging. I hope to one day be as successful as you. 😊

Wow love your basement. Wish I had space like that. Awesome
Thank you so very much for sharing your solds and thrifting. May I ask how many items do you list a day and do you fill out the recommended item specifics as well as a detailed description. Great job!👏👏👏👏
I'm shocked at the empty shelves! Maybe they cleaned out to restock with awesome new treasures😉! You mentioned Brian, your great nephew, so how is he doing with his eBay store? You truly seem to love what you are doing and appreciate everyone's support. I love seeing you thrift and always learn something new. I always grab the brass duck head bookends because they are hot items in my area! Location--Location!! Congratulations on 10 years of eBay selling!
your basement ,, it is so,, meow meow perfect,
At minute 19 on this video next to the music stand it looks like a HEAVY duty Revere Wear Dutch oven... and if it was you passed up on something really good. You would know because it's heavy and it has a copper bottom.
Karen i love the etched aluminum trays. I collect them. To use or hang in my kitchen wall.
Your my wise one to listen too
I have copper jello molds hanging on my kitchen walls.
You cracked me up! Thrift stores were top in your real estate house hunting! Teacher María here:” if I were a man” rather! Maree meh koh. 3
Edit: horses are noble animals! That is why they do good for you! Come from generations of Argentine polo players, and my father and brother both horse veterinarians!
Love the shipping videos, as always!! Thanks for sharing.
That is a mass produced Home Interiors Last Supper Frame.
I want that! Go get it! It’s yours!
Congratulations. You are so organized. Love it. I can no longer watch such disorganized flip for profit vendors. Makes me crazy. Looks like hoarding. 😮
Thank you Karen for showing us lv Ann uk ❤️❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
You deserve all good things to come your way!! You're an inspiration on being yourself and most positive! 💕🌻
The one blow mold, it was sitting on the right on the table. …. Wasn’t it missing something. The other one had a black cat. They were both very cute. Love your videos. Shipping, shopping, chatting, vacationing. You are amazing. What stamina you have. I admire your organizational skills. 😊
silver frames,, art signed, y r so lucky,, smart
It is very difficult to clean some glass, even with a larger opening, but I have had some luck with denture tablets and believe it or not, oven cleaner.
Combined Shipping: When Not to combine shipping. You mentioned not mixing breakables with the other, heavy objects, but depending on what you source and sell, there are other situations were combining items in the same package is problematic.
You aren’t often seen sourcing media, but I do source and sell it regularly and combining media, with non-media is usually an issue because it disqualifies the package from going media rate. For instance, 20 DVD movies, combined with a single non-media (xBox game, t-shirt, etc) means paying more for shipping, then shipping them separately.
This is important if you like to put groups of related themed items into a single listing and the bulk of the weight is from the media portion of the mix. 25 Louis L’amor western books and a single signed L’Amore photo might make your listing stand out, but it couldn’t go media rate.
Another example might be a vintage Lone Ranger item group. Metal lunchbox, 10 story books, 3 videos and 6 comics. Sounds like a good mix, but may not be once you check shipping costs. The books and videos qualify for Media, the rest does not (even the comics do not). The group could still be a good listing, but you would have to send the box other then Media Rate.
You are awesome been watching now for about a month - love your videos
🎉congratulations on your reseller anniversary!! Your dedication and shopping skills have made you successful! You’re much admired 🥰
The hair dryer! 👍🏻👍🏻😂
You’re so inspiring, Karen! I’m a small seller, trying to grow my business. I think we’re the same age-ish, lol. Curious; do you ever do auctions on eBay? Thanks, Karen! God bless!
Karen, you're just a wonderful human being... and I still love your hair, lol
I sure do look forward to your videos. Thanks for making them for us.
I found several allen edmonds belts,, just sold one for $62.00 paid 5 at goodwill
Congrats! You are an inspiration!😊
Thanks to you, I’m catching myself doing the tap test in the grocery store. Lol
Congratulations on 10 years, Karen! XO I really agree that the Alan Edwards shoes (esp. loafers) are gorgeous! I think those "octopus" glass vessels are votive holders and look to me like sea urchins.
Congratulations!!!! Your achievement is so inspiring! God Bless
Glass lampshade looks more like a screw in ceiling light shade.
Congratulations!!!!!!
Congrats.👏 I always enjoy your pullings, your organizational skills are great.
Congratulations on your 10 years of success🎉🎉🎉.. you are amazing Karen🤗💕🙏🏼
You make me laugh when I watch your videos. Thank you for that.
I love clear glass!
Congrats girlfriend!! 🎉🎉🎉❤
Congratulations Karen! You are doing an awesome job!
To clean glass like the fish vase container add water, vinegar and denture cleaner let sit over night empty and rinse with water.
You are fantastic…Congratulations on 10 years…
Amazing sales. Congrats on 10 years Karen.
The tray with the gazelle looks like the Egyptian one I have. Worth money.
Congratulations Karen! I Enjoy Your Videos!
Congratulations!!
The one and only thing I ever made in a ceramics class is the very same ghost like the blow mold one with pumpkin. My pumpkin is bright orange and the ghost face is black and the light shines through. My son was 2 yrs old when I made it and he's 51 yr old now....
Thanks for the encouragement right back at ya😍❤💯👌
Love watching your finds! My daughter and I have been thrifting for 20 years or so. It seems like the merchandise in my area isn't as great as it was. That conair blow dryer is probably from the seventies as I remember buying it as a teen and it was about $27.00 at the time-ouch ! Congratulations on a decade of hard work.
I love your channel. you find the most interesting things! I hope you were going to go to flipcon this year, because I would love to meet you!
