I’ve baked an apple tart in less time, not you Robert the king obviously but that Kardashian, oh dear Jesus!! What I worry about is younger girls will be unnecessarily caking and over baking trying to achieve the unachievable. Actually I am thinking of buying Laura Mercier translucent powder in Glow (I don’t like looking too made up, just natural) Has anyone tried this?

The fact that she can get even color is amazing...she just needs to admit that a stylist does it and what products she uses.
Start with a full face of makeup done by your MUA, then use the filter while you advertise the product, cut the camera while your MUA does your bronzer and lips, then turn the filter back on and play with some powder. Make millions of dollars, repeat.

Yep, very true. But in all honesty, the Kardashians are all about the money, so they're always disingenuous, imo, when they're selling products or advertising for companies. Yes omg! She just got smoother and smoother! They had to crank up that filter to cover the cake! 😂 I saw an unedited pic of Kim once and she had so much makeup caked on and it accentuated all of her texture, it made her entire face look soooo textured and made her fine lines stand out so much! If she’d had a reasonable amount of makeup on she would have looked so much smoother! But I’m still blown away that she started this video with a full freaking face of makeup on and then caked on a half a tube of color corrector and concealer and added a pound of powder on top! My face would crack if I smiled with that much makeup on 😂
There is a huge issue that's been present on beauty YT for years and that is, not showing the real amount of product we real people need. I understand there are many types of makeups but YT seemed to be showing only one way: Contouring, Baking and in general that IG FLAWLESS perfection. Which is only cute on camera and with a bunch of soft boxes or a light ring around your head xd So Im thankful now we got a new wave of beauty content creators like you telling us the real truth. Just a tiny amount of product goes a long way, wrinkles will never disappear but only blend with the correct tone and amount etc. Thanks so much. @@Balletified Mario is a good MUA and I've been to one of his classes where he instructed different makeup techniques. It's just that he bakes and color corrects for Kim bc she loves those type of makeup as it looks good in photography and filming.
This is the whole families brand though. I remember when Chloe posted that video on Instagram after she won some award and her filters literally made her look like an entirely different person. I think they’ve built up this reputation of being “flawless” so much that they’re terrified if the illusion is ruined.

You are literally the reason I don’t use as much concealer anymore or use powder really at all. The texture of my skin through out the day is so much better.
I’m so glad I watched this. Bc I was feeling down about how “old” I look with makeup. Like, I can’t get it to look fresh and youthful. But then I see Kim who is like 8 years older than me and I’m like HOW does she always look so matte and blurred and perfect. The answer: Video editing.
Honestly, nothing you see anywhere but in person in front of you is real anymore (* and even then a lot of plastic surgery happens now too). Everyone uses colour correction in videos at the very least, and many also use blurring and filtering, professional lighting (which can hide a multitude of sins) and additional spot correction in post production. Videos now are no different to photos in magazines. Whether it's done to make people feel insecure or because the advertisers feel like nothing less than perfection will sell is debatable, but none of it is real and it's very unhealthy to compare yourself to any of it. It's not attainable.
Never compare yourself to the top 1% or anyone whose job it is to look good. They have all the privilege in this world and that means they can pay whatever they want to stay looking young. They pretty much all have fillers and that automatically smooths the skin. Little do they care that they're actually hurting the overall elasticity of their skin and the way it lays over their natural fat so they'll be a slave to that shit for the rest of their lives and they will still eventually end up looking old and probably even worse than someone that kept it natural. It's easier said than done to feel confident about yourself especially these days, so I hope educating yourself about what's actually real and healthy for you will give you better perspective. Growing old and getting wrinkles isn't a bad thing and it's nothing to be ashamed of.
Watch Stephanie Lange on here - she does some great videos about why we don’t look like you tubers etc in real life when we apply make up. At the end of the day, I wear make up so I feel good about myself and because I enjoy playing with makeup - I couldn’t really give a fig about what others think except my hubby and he thinks I’m gorgeous even first thing in the morning with bad breath, bed head and not a sticky head of makeup on but probably creases in my face from my pillow 😂
She had allready a fullface Make-up. Her eyebrows are done perfectly she is concealled and baked fullface and eyeshadow also! You know why Robert because we doesn't recognize her without Make-up! I bet Mario is 100% somewhere in the Background !!! That's so unnenessary Kim why???
I watched Kim's video and honestly, went right out and bought a color corrector and setting powder. It wasn't her brand but they were good brands! When I got home, I tried these techniques and cringed. The products did exactly what you said they would! I got really discouraged with my makeup techniques and thought i just didn't know what i was doing. i found your channel after and have been incorporating your techniques and my makeup skills are getting better! I love your videos and honesty.
I love Robert but geeeez there are already so many makeup lines, everyone and their mother comes out with one! This poor planet, literally I think about all the waste from it... way too damn many! but sadly he’d be the one I’d trust with products but I’d be so scared that if it flopped or one piece of dust got on something RUclips would cancel him and he needs to be protected at all costs, he’s one of the last good/real ones out there.

Exactly considering she has all sorts of filler and expensive treatments, her skin will be smoother and plumper under the eyes then most people her age or even a bit younger! It would be a good idea but it probably wouldn’t be that bad on camera, which is what he preaches so often, often these makeup tips are for people on camera with a bunch of lighting set up, if he could somehow find a lighting situation that could most accurately represent real life that would be awesome!

Agree, agree. It's been a while and we didn't have that "pressure" on us. I rarely wear make up, it would be redundant at work anyway and at home I want to play and cuddle with my kids and not paint on them with my face in the process.

And the filters! She definitely used a blurring filter! I came across an unedited pic of Kim on Instagram once and she has a lot of texture on her face and fine lines. And you could tell how cakey her makeup looked, it totally accentuated her texture! If she hadn’t have had so much makeup on her skin would have looked a lot smoother! They just over edit and filter every pic and video they post and it’s crazy because we all have imperfections and stuff, why not just be real?

Even though I am 48 I am really just learning and I follow Robert's advice and add a dot of concealer to my outside eye and two dots on the inside. If needed I will add the small bit of a lighter to the center. That's it. I love how kind Robert even though he isn't happy with what is being shown by Kim.
Scott is a professional makeup artist, working with JLo and other famous people. He said himself in the video the makeup is not meant to be wear in normal life, is show makeup like he does for concerts and performances.

I love your passion dude. I’ve into makeup for a year or so and I’ve learned everything that I have through RUclips. Luckily, I have common sense and I have acknowledged the valid and invalid methods of makeup through experimenting with several tutorials. Yes omg! She just got smoother and smoother! They had to crank up that filter to cover the cake! 😂 I saw an unedited pic of Kim once and she had so much makeup caked on and it accentuated all of her texture, it made her entire face look soooo textured and made her fine lines stand out so much! If she’d had a reasonable amount of makeup on she would have looked so much smoother! But I’m still blown away that she started this video with a full freaking face of makeup on and then caked on a half a tube of color corrector and concealer and added a pound of powder on top! My face would crack if I smiled with that much makeup on 😂
The bronzer and lip liner almost killed me. It was a decent forehead before that tinting.

There is a huge issue that's been present on beauty YT for years and that is, not showing the real amount of product we real people need. I understand there are many types of makeups but YT seemed to be showing only one way: Contouring, Baking and in general that IG FLAWLESS perfection. Which is only cute on camera and with a bunch of soft boxes or a light ring around your head xd
So Im thankful now we got a new wave of beauty content creators like you telling us the real truth. Just a tiny amount of product goes a long way, wrinkles will never disappear but only blend with the correct tone and amount etc.

I've watched her makeup being done before, and the amount that's caked on makes me wince. IMO, makeup should enhance.
@@Balletified Mario is a good MUA and I've been to one of his classes where he instructed different makeup techniques. It's just that he bakes and color corrects for Kim bc she loves those type of makeup as it looks good in photography and filming.

This is the whole families brand though. I remember when Chloe posted that video on Instagram after she won some award and her filters literally made her look like an entirely different person. I think they’ve built up this reputation of being “flawless” so much that they’re terrified if the illusion is ruined.
And the recent picture of her with no filters, photoshop, or makeup in a bikini that she’s having copyrighted and literally getting people deactivated if they posted it. It’s crazy the extent they’ll go to just to seem perfect

You are literally the reason I don’t use as much concealer anymore or use powder really at all. The texture of my skin through out the day is so much better.
I’m so glad I watched this. Bc I was feeling down about how “old” I look with makeup. Like, I can’t get it to look fresh and youthful. But then I see Kim who is like 8 years older than me and I’m like HOW does she always look so matte and blurred and perfect. The answer: Video editing.
And she has access to all the best skin procedures, not to mention fillers and stuff.
Honestly, nothing you see anywhere but in person in front of you is real anymore (* and even then a lot of plastic surgery happens now too). Everyone uses colour correction in videos at the very least, and many also use blurring and filtering, professional lighting (which can hide a multitude of sins) and additional spot correction in post production. Videos now are no different to photos in magazines. Whether it's done to make people feel insecure or because the advertisers feel like nothing less than perfection will sell is debatable, but none of it is real and it's very unhealthy to compare yourself to any of it. It's not attainable.
Never compare yourself to the top 1% or anyone whose job it is to look good. They have all the privilege in this world and that means they can pay whatever they want to stay looking young. They pretty much all have fillers and that automatically smooths the skin. Little do they care that they're actually hurting the overall elasticity of their skin and the way it lays over their natural fat so they'll be a slave to that shit for the rest of their lives and they will still eventually end up looking old and probably even worse than someone that kept it natural. It's easier said than done to feel confident about yourself especially these days, so I hope educating yourself about what's actually real and healthy for you will give you better perspective. Growing old and getting wrinkles isn't a bad thing and it's nothing to be ashamed of.
Watch Stephanie Lange on here - she does some great videos about why we don’t look like you tubers etc in real life when we apply make up. At the end of the day, I wear make up so I feel good about myself and because I enjoy playing with makeup - I couldn’t really give a fig about what others think except my hubby and he thinks I’m gorgeous even first thing in the morning with bad breath, bed head and not a sticky head of makeup on but probably creases in my face from my pillow 😂

I watched Kim's video and honestly, went right out and bought a color corrector and setting powder. It wasn't her brand but they were good brands! When I got home, I tried these techniques and cringed. The products did exactly what you said they would!

Exactly considering she has all sorts of filler and expensive treatments, her skin will be smoother and plumper under the eyes then most people her age or even a bit younger! If ANYONE ELSE did what she just did, their normal people skin would be so cakey, creasy, chunky and real funky. Not the good funky either.

It would be a good idea but it probably wouldn’t be that bad on camera, which is what he preaches so often, often these makeup tips are for people on camera with a bunch of lighting set up, if he could somehow find a lighting situation that could most accurately represent real life that would be awesome!

Agree, agree. It's been a while and we didn't have that "pressure" on us. I rarely wear make up, it would be redundant at work anyway and at home I want to play and cuddle with my kids and not paint on them with my face in the process.

And the filters! She definitely used a blurring filter! I came across an unedited pic of Kim on Instagram once and she has a lot of texture on her face and fine lines. Even though I am 48 I am really just learning and I follow Robert's advice and add a dot of concealer to my outside eye and two dots on the inside. If needed I will add the small bit of a lighter to the center. That's it. I love how kind Robert even though he isn't happy with what is being shown by Kim.

Scott is a professional makeup artist, working with JLo and other famous people. He said himself in the video the makeup is not meant to be wear in normal life, is show makeup like he does for concerts and performances.
