OMG ROBERT 😩💕 I literally screamed when I saw this video, thank you sm for all the kind words!!! I’m so stoked that makeup is going in a more natural (and even unique!) direction after YEARS of being fed the same IG face over and over. Your videos 100% lead the charge 💕💕💕💕💕
I love you both 😍🥰
Thank you so so much! I absolutely agree. And I think your video in particular, and the creative side of you, show that you can do two incredible types of makeup that are completely different from each-other, and have amazing results both ways! 🖤🖤🖤
I loved your tip for the liquid lipsticks!! I’d also highly recommend Colourpop’s Ultra Blotted Lips- they do the same thing basically. I can put lip balm on top, rub my lips around, etc with no issues. But I love now that I can use my Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks without any issues too, thanks!
I never felt attractive in my old YT videos because on the rare occasion I wore makeup, it always looked good in natural lighting which isn’t good for instagram.
Annika O'Brien I had the opposite problem- I was always trying to copy what all the makeup RUclipsrs were doing and was getting sooo frustrated when it looked like crap IRL. Now I know why! 💕
I'm sooo here for the "actually good looking makeup irl" era
Same!! 🖤🖤
YES!!! It's actually amazing how even instagram creators have started to do more natural, creamy looks and I'm living for it!
Preach
FINALLY !
Yaaasss. I’ve always strayed away from makeup because I feel like it’s never looked good in person and I liked how my skin looked without it, better. Now I can finally wear makeup in a way that doesn’t accentuate my imperfections and at the same time not show I am covering trying to cover them up.
“Except art. If you’re an artist and someone steals your work....sue them” mood lol
lol ikr
Absolutely
I laughed so hard when he said this. Also, very true. Sue them.
Yes! F*@ken aholes.
my fave part as well lol. i legit rewatched just that bit a few times and laughed out loud to myself. amazing.
Robert: *pauses Snitchery again* "sorry"
ONLY Robert would apologise for speaking on his OWN video 😂
He's too sweet I know 😄
So true 😂😂
This literally made me laugh out loud because its SO TRUE. XD
Ikr? It’s so cute and sweet
HES SO NICE
Those instagram looks are the reason I got into K-beauty. Had enough seeing all the packed on products on textured skin, because they looked terrible in real life. I wanted to look better in real life, so I got all into Korean skin care and make-up, because it was exactly the look I was going for. My skin is now a perfect base, make up looks natural and even and real, so I get many compliments.
Yes! Me too!
Same
What products did you use💗💗
@@dannysimon9030 First,I wannt to say that I´m no expert, I jut got into Korean skin care/make-up about 8 months ago, there are many youtubers like "beauty within", James/Robert and Hyram, which are very educating and helped me a lot.
So I began mainly with the skincare that got recommended often and that were available in my country, and still use them most. Those are Cosrx, Laneige and Innisfree. I also learned about my skin-type, which is not often described in our country (dehydrated oily, so much oil, little water) and searched for fitting products. I added a ph-balanced washing gel(instead of harsh ones),chemical exfoliation (very important!), and much more serums and moisturizers(masks to pack on and held onto that routine. Recommendations are difficult, because they depend more on skin type. Before, my skin looked just fine from far away, but it was textured/dry flaky skin with big pores and many black/whiteheads. It would also get very easy out of balance, because of my weakened skin-barrier(harsh face washes at fault!). At first, it didnt like the change in routine! But now everything is gone after 8 months. I also use Korean make-up( buy them on Yesstyle). I love the moonshot micro settifit cushion, it looks beautiful and very skinlike on me. But I also need much less than before and it sits perfectly on hydrated skin!
nafania thank you soooo so much. we have the exact same skin type and it’s a relief to see ppl embracing it and taking properly care of it. im getting my skincare products tomorrow (thank you hyram) and might have gone a lil overboard with hydrating cerave products lol but this dehydrated ashiness mess is a no-no!
Hey! I know the intro to this video is long, but its something I really want to get across so I hope you can take a moment to listen! Thank you all! 🖤
Listenin’ now because I love you both so much 😭
If the intro is 1 hour long, I'd watch it because it's you💜
ofcourse!
Thank you for this! I have avoided so many "tutorials" because of the bickering in the comments over credit. I am 48 and have really just started playing with makeup. I want to tell these young people to find something better to argue about. I love your channel, Wayne Goss, and PamperedWolf... You all are informative and respectful.... Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
Thank you! 🖤😝
That took such a turn. "Everything has been done! Nothing is new! I don't want people to fight over giving credit! ...Except artwork. If you're an artist and your art's copied, sue them." Indeed.
😂🖤
F A C T S
Other beauty influencers: I did that first, YOU'RE NOT CREDITING ME!!!
Robert: yeah no, don't credit me, that's a classic technic, I'm just happy that you learned something
😝🖤🖤🖤
He's always been all class all the time!🤗 That's why we love him so.
We stan an unproblematic fave
He’s so sweet
Honestly the most mature thing I've seen in this community.
Robert Welsh, please quit apologizing for your eyebrow, it makes you, you. And personally I like it. Thank you and have a great day!
Thank you so much! I’m not apologising I’m just making some sarcastic comments for the people who comment about it 😜
You’re extremely handsome, and I also like your eyebrow. It’s your character!😘
As someone who also has a scar on my brow I've learned to ignore and just live my best life. You seem to be doing that 😊
Yes! That eyebrow deserves a parade and awards. I love it so much
Gosh imagine looking like snitchery! She is insanely stunning
i know! her eyes and nose are perfect
Her face is literal perfection 😍
yeah! she does so many great looks and cosplays and she can pull off anything
Also she's a damn shape shifter. THE TALENTED!!!
Darling we're not ugly, we're just poor 😢😂
nobody:
Robert: *laughs shadily*
😂🖤
lmao
😹
Right?!😂
loveee
🗣 NOT EVERYONE HAS A YELLOW UNDERTONE 🗣 thank you!!! I’m tired of seeing people use a shade of peanut butter for their foundations
Shade of peanut butter 😂😂😂😂 that made me laugh so much! 😂 (Would love if a brand names one of their shades that 😆)
With how thicc everyone puts it on it might as well be peanut butter
Okay but you look gorgeous 😳
I compare shades to food too xd
My shade is mayo
@@kindtoyourmind 😂
“If you’re an artist and your artwork is copied, sue them.” I laughed out loud at this, but totally true, thank you.
Got the flu but watching Roberts Video's and I died 😂😂😂 when he said that!!
Same! Just the way he says it makes me laugh🤣
What I think is a massive problem with “RUclips” concealer techniques is that the average person who isn’t makeup savvy, is not aware of the difference between highlighting and concealing. DAILY I have customers come to me asking for a concealer to cover under eye darkness and they all want a very light shade concealer. Because that doesn’t cover the darkness they keep packing it on like they see on RUclips. It drives me crazy because they are so SO hard to convince and speak to me like I’m an idiot until a manage to persuade them to sit down so I can demo on them. Robert please do a video on the difference between colour correcting under the eye and concealing. I need people to know and to stop packing on heavy concealer that’s 4 shades too light for them.
Do you have any recommendations? I have a chronic fatigue disorder do I live with dark circles, but in the past year I've noticed my undereyes are crepey in a way they didn't used to be when I put concealer on. I'm only 28, but I have the inner under eyes of a much older woman when I put on the concealer I used to use and set it with powder.
Rose What skincare are you using? This is what will address crepiness under the eyes. You’ll need something deeply hydrating. Is the discoloration blue/purple or is this actual dark/brown hyperpigmentation in the skin?
@@maddisonponting9923 the only skincare I use on my eye area is eyecream from lush or bia beauty. Maybe I need something better hydrating?
And it's blue/purple discolouration due to lack of refreshing sleep.
@@maddisonponting9923 for more general skincare I use the ordinary niacinamide + zinc and simples moisturiser every day, with a few other bits from the ordinary depending on the day
Rose i recommend the cerave under eye cream. it’s really good!
I find it interesting that there's a shift toward more natural-looking in-person kind of makeup now that everyone is staying home and mostly interacting through video chat lol.
You'd think it would be the opposite since we're only communicating via the internet, hence, cameras
I don’t know I def noticed that before everyone was staying at home, I think it’s a rejection of the heavy 2017 insta makeup with the intense highlight and contour
Over the past year, I’ve definitely noticed influencers on youtube moving away from heavy instagram makeup. I’m really glad about this since I don’t know anyone who wears a full beat everyday to work or whatever so it’s nice to see makeup online reflecting reality more
Keep in mind that trends constantly come and go, instagram trends included. And it’s also possible that with more beauty gurus watching influencers like Robert and learning from his expertise, they too have decided not to make the same mistakes.
I think it's bc ppl are spending more time looking at themselves in the mirror and notice that the ig makeup is too heavy for daily wear, simply bc they have the time to observe and analyze their makeup routines now
Don’t even watch the “beauty community” anymore but I watch Robert for his personality😊 (and knowledge)
Thank you so much!
Same I watch Nikkie and Jeffree for crazy eye looks and entertainment but Robert for useful information and yeah personality of course 💜
liz same they are too toxic
Same I used to watch so many of them all the time but now I only watch like 3-4 beauty channels regularly🤷🏼♀️ it’s better now😊
I only watch Kathleen, raw beauty kristi, and Robert. I watch Kathleen and kristi because we have similar features so I can learn to play them up and their personalities and I watch Robert for knowledge.
Wayne Goss, John Maclean are also people who I’ve watched for years that also does a lot of classic makeup’s techniques. I’ve discovered Robert’s channel more recently and I’m glad I keep discovering more mua’s that are so similar :)
If you love them than you would also love Lisa Eldridge and Andrea Ali.
*Lisa Eldridge* - she is the first person I started to follow on RUclips over 11-12 years ago, almost everything I learned about make-up i learned from her. she is not a "beauty guru" or " influencer, she is a real deal make-up artist since the 90's - RUclips is more of a means to impart her knowledge. She does not upload much because she usually busy doing magazines / runways / red carpet / movies / creative developer for Lancome, etc.
Everything she shows on RUclips is applicable in real life, she doesn't show make-up just to show it on camera.
+ she never earned a dime off her channel, just a year and a half ago (?) she started to insert commercials through RUclips and all proceeds go to charity.
Also check out *Andrea Ali* she is lovely and funny, she does amazing techniques and explains so much. She is also a make-up artist not a "beauty guru".
Robert did an awesome vid on John Maclean ! It's my favourite one.. :)
Queen Lisa Eldridge, Gucci Westman and Monika Blunder are also classic make up artists, I always recommend them to anyone who wants to learn how to apply makeup!
@@anna_med pixiwoos was one of my first.... They've primarily moved over to Instagram but they definitely are true artists
@@efolinsky hmmm, I used to watch them, but I always preferred Lisa. I don't like IG as _video_ platform - absolutely horrible in my opinion, so it's been a while since I watched Nick & Sam. This last year I got hooked also on Andrea Ali's channel, she is marvelous.
I pulled my phone off the charger and told my husband “let’s watch Robert videos while we rearrange furniture” and got a notification you just uploaded. I think my biological clock has recognized your posting schedule. 🤗
Do you live above Robert?... Are you the phantom furniture shifter?!... 🤔😎🖤
Alena Vikernes666 lol, I meant literally moving the couch and tables, but that sounds like a good cover.
Alena Vikernes666 I’ve never heard that. Such a strange saying for sex 🙃😂
Alena Vikernes666 lol I’ve always used that term “rearranging furniture” as code for sex! I’m surprised a lot people haven’t heard that saying. 🤔
Alena Vikernes666 idk but when I hear “biological clock” I think of people trying to have babies before they get too old...
I remember I went to a popular makeup artist for my graduation and I looked ratchet. I looked really bad I wanted to cry and I thought I would be the ugliest person in the room but istg I did not have one bad pic. All of my pics came out P E R F E CT. I had people hitting my dm's left and right wanting my makeup artists number after I posted my pictures on instagram lol.
camera makeup is really different and while I enjoyed that experience I'm never repeating it again haha I love a soft natural look
EXACTLY. Camera/stage makeup is not in the same ballpark as makeup made to be worn out of the spotlight and seen by eyes and way too many people aren't informed about this. Both have the capability to look absolutely beautiful but it all depends on the environment where each look will stand out the best.
Same with wedding makeup! Every time I've been a bridesmaid I was horrified but the photos looked great haha
“Not everyone is a yellow undertone” say it louder for people in the back!!!
The amount of customer that come to the counter and tell me they are a yellow undertone when they are clearly pink/beige is absolutely wild. They walk out looking like the Simpson’s..... :/
I always get told I have a pink undertone by muas at the makeup counter. I'm so olive I'm literally just green with yellow overtones. Walk out of the store with swatches on my neck and they look like full on blush against my alien skin tone. Never in my life have I been matched correctly, but maybe that's cause nobody makes shades for olive skin..
@@nshvh That makes me sad to hear you haven't been colour matched correctly. There are brands that stock foundation with olive undertones. A sad reality, a lot of mua at counters don't know how to colour match, they don't understand how undertones work etc.. all it takes is passion and education to solve this problem.
I have the opposite experience! My skin is neutral, I have both purple and green looking veins. But my skin is also very light and my face has a bit of redness, so muas always assume I need a cool tone foundation which makes my face look really pink and separated from my body... Happier with my foundations since I stopped listening to them :/
Saga Lindhé you should get samples of MAC neutral (N4-6.5) range in studio fix fluid. They have great neutral colours. I think it’s a little bit harder for artist in like Mecca maxima or Sephora as they aren’t all 100% trained in every single brand and exactly know how each foundation will sit on the all types of skin; whereas someone who works for one brand can have a better understanding on how products will sit on the skin. for instance myself; I work for one brand and can just look at someone and tell how a foundation will sit on someone skin. It comes down to experience and training! X
I get told I have yellow undertones even though I’m more olive and if sucks not being to find olive undertone products 😭
Robert Welsh the ultimate postmodernist! Everything’s been done before.
It's as if beauty RUclipsrs are essentially applying "stage" makeup. If you have ever seen someone after a stage performance, their makeup is extremely exaggerated. Robert, thanks to you, I just don't watch these channels anymore because I don't want to see ton's of concealer and powder applied. I wear the least amount of makeup now than I ever have before, and am loving it. THANK YOU!!
Check out the channel, Pampered Wolf. She is an esthetician and does such lovely makeup looks!
Completely true. My reference for my stage make-up to-dos are all the IG/RUclipsr Influencer make-up gurus with the harsh lights. Helpful, but from there, I never knew how to do formal make-up for real life. So, thank you Robert!
Exactly!! Lots of the contour and base techniques are from stage make up or even drag queens. When it all kicked off on instagram with people like the Kardashians showing extreme contouring, I did a huge facepalm as girls started copying these photographic techniques that make great insta photos but look awful in real life. However strong your make up look is, skin should still look like skin.
@@nerdmaid1240 Absolutely! In the 80's, my foundation was a creme product similar to the "pancake" makeup used on stage. We wore a lot of makeup back then. But real skin is just more beautiful than all that foundation and powder. Great comment🙌
@@dylzareerecentes6883 I'm so glad you found Robert. I am amazed how many younger influencers are stil piling on the makeup!
@@Patti-1962 Yes, I am very thankful Robert posts quality content like this. Especially since I am lazy at doing make-up for real life, it's so good to know that minimal is the more effective way to do it! Yey!
Remember when youtubers made videos with a web cam and a desk lamp? That's how long I've been watching tutorials 😂
Make sure you credit the first one who did it!! 😜
@@ZiggyKitty lol
I started makeup in the early 80's. Believe me, everything that goes around, comes around. I've always said that everyone doesn't need a face primer. Depending on your skin, a moisturizer is enough; All that concealer and powder is totally unnecessary. As for foundation, a tinted moisturizer is awesome. Again, it all depends on YOUR SKIN!
What people don’t understand is so many beauty guru “techniques” are designed to use the maximum amount of product per application. If you use a crapload of concealer or powder or whatever, *every day*, you have to buy new ones more often!! Then the makeup companies make more money, and the gurus make more money.
I always am extremely cautious when watching those types of videos. It’s important to understand that you are almost always being marketed to, and you need to critically think about why they’re telling you what they’re telling you. It’s nice to see more youtubers getting popular that are actually good makeup artists who don’t just try to peddle products!
Robert just nodding his head as she keeps saying butthole really make me cackle for some reason
Lmfao same
Robert and Jenna Marbles are two nicest people on RUclips! Would love to see them collaborate. That would be the most delightful video in this platform! 🖤🖤🖤
That'd be amazing. Jenna can bring a plant or two with her too.
@@toastiememes a kermit or two*
I love Jenna's makeup transformation since she did her E-girl video. She looks so cute with lighter contour/bronzer and the e-girl blush!
OH. MY GAWD. YESSSSSSSS!!! THIS IS MY DREAM!!! 😳😭😳
Just imagine Robert &Jenna trying to recreate 5min crafts but the makeup version! Tell me that wouldn't break the internet 😂
You should do half your face with camera makeup and the other haft normal life and make it like a tutorial!
Yessssss
This is such a good idea!!
The ferocity in "Sue them." gave me everything I needed
The problem with spot foundation or just concealing is that when your outside or get hot and your face reddens it looks really bizarre when only parts of your face turn red and the other spots aren’t changing color. I tried this and it looked so weird and obvious I was wearing makeup.
Exactly. I'm really light and get flushed easily, and the spots of makeup hides it, so I just try to do a very light blend all over and then maybe go in with a little more on the problem areas
but isn't the whole point of both of them saying that not everyone needs it. you might need it because of that reason (i'm the same) but someone, like snitchery, who doesn't have that problem wouldn't.
I feel this. Not with redness but just having different colors going on in general lol Hyperpigmentation everywhere 😭
We come back to the point of everyone is different, you don’t need as much foundation does NOT mean, only pin point foundation, use your normal foundation. So, what people in this video are trying to teach you is do NOT pile product when most likely you don’t need it because you will get rid of the redness but you will create texture. What I would suggest is adjust the amount of foundation/pin point concealing to the areas of your face accordingly that’s all.
VampMetalGlamour yea I know what the video is intended to teach. Just putting in my two cents about my experience with spot concealing that’s all.
The fact that you say that u do not need to have credit for something classic, is actually appreciable!❤️
Love how u always take the positive way rather than drama or " spilling tea"
Thank you so much! 🖤
Not a lot of makeup artists ever talk about when you wear makeup and you have acne that is slowly healing but then you put foundation over it and it just gets all dry and flaky and then it just doesn’t look flattering
The problem is primer or moisturiser doesn’t even help smoothing out dried out spots on my oily, dehydrated skin
i have that! the way that works for me is using nyx honey dew primer then a mix of l’oréal true match and a water based moisturer, no powder or concealer on top x
I think although acne In many stages is a normal thing to experience, it’s unique to every individual, so it’s hard to recommend something without seeing your individual situation in real life. 🖤
Check some older videos from Samantha Ravndahl, maybe Taylor Wynn
I don't think you can cover that texture only the redness. Exfoliating first can help get some of the dead flaky skin.
ohh i remember that!! back when i was on roaccutanr. ughh. i spent hundreds on skin care and high quality make up and it still would just... get all flakey and fall off during the day. i hated itttt hope it gets better for you soon!! ✨
even when influencers try to do minimal makeup "natural" or whatever they want to call it , it still looks like too much makeup. But its a step in the right direction
I have extremely oily skin and I was using a “normal” amount of foundation but within a couple hours my oils were already breaking it down and it would look horrible. I would end up just wiping it all off. Your videos have helped so much with explaining which primers to use (I was using the wrong type) Right after I put on my primer I use setting spray as recommended and then I use a small amount of foundation. I don’t use the setting spray at the end and I stopped putting setting powder on my face besides a tiny bit on my nose. My makeup stays on all day now. I still look oily but my makeup isn’t cakey or literally sliding off my face. When the foundation starts to crease I can just dab it a bit with my fingers and it looks good again. All of your recommendations have worked marvelously! Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I absolutely adore you!
What works for me as well, is to set my primer with a light layer of powder.
P
"Nobody needs a full face of foundation"

Aaa mood😂 my cheeks are covered in hyperpigmentation and everywhere else in freckles
(That wasnt really proper english but you get what i mean lol)
I think natural freckles are beautiful 💖
@@mssumii I like my freckles but i have them all over my face and they're pretty big and super dark so if i only put foundation in certain areas it looks off the only way ig you could fix it is if i go and remove the makeup off every single freckle and that's not going to happen lol

I started watching Robert's vids because he was different from the others MUAs. I became a huge fan because he is an excellent MUA and charming and humble.

@@The_Hessie haha I live for him I wish I could carry him in my pocket I swear
Thank Robert for saying this about “credit”. Makeup has been around forever and things repeat. For an “influencer” & their “stans” to assume they own a technique is ridiculous but the BYT community has gotten so ridiculous. You are such a breath of fresh air. Thanks for teaching us.
"Sue them" is such a mood and I'm here for it.
He cracks me up 😹
I love watching Snitchery do her Cos makeup and such. To see another RUclipsr do “normal” makeup is great. I use watch a ton of influencers, but over the last year and a half I only watch a few with Robert being my favorite. I’m older than most, 48, so I don’t need a ton of makeup. I just want to look good when I go see clients. So my makeup is not heavy.
I’m still a youngster at 26, and I work at a restaurant with customers. Makeup isn’t necessary, but it does help me avoid getting asked if I’m feeling okay, as without it I always have dark circles. I’m ridiculously pale regardless, so that one is unavoidable.
I want Robert to do my bridal makeup MORE than I want to get married... (and my wedding was already postponed due to Covid-19... Imagine that!)

Right!! The cutest
It’s so crazy, I was watching her “real life makeup” video and I was wondering what you think about it!! She’s incredibly gorgeous holyyy ✨ it’s really nice that you address your followers going after other influencers because a lot of people on this platform don’t do that and even encourage it lol
PS i’m so happy that you’ve decided to do YT full time 🥺
the same I was like what if Robert saw this, he would love it, then bam, I saw this upload and almost fainted
Your videos have brought back my passion for makeup- I was so bored of seeing looks that just would not work in real life, and my makeup never quite looking like I wanted it to.
Have recommended your channel to every human I've spoken to during the past few days, including (but not limited to) my brother and my mother.
Thank you!
Thank you so so much!! 🖤
Same. I’ve tried everyone’s “favorite” products and my oily skin and “mature” skin near my eyes just ain’t havin it. Robert’s eye concealer method works. And Wayne Goss’s setting powder technique works. Anything else I see on IG makes me look wrinkly where I’m not.
I'm watching him just nodding vibing along with her video like he's a proud dad at a dance recital
Robert, you are a CLASSY GUY!! Always constructive in your criticism and always using critiques as teachable moments!! Thank you for rising above the drama that inevitably haunts the beauty community on RUclips.
I love how you addressed the concealer thing, it isn't even exactly the same as your technique. I have under eyes just like hers, and her technique helped me soooooo much! 🥰 (not to say yours isn't also great, I'm sure it's because of my face shape). I love this reaction vid!
I just adore your humility and drama free approach to beauty on youtube 🧡 also ghost stories and makeup mondays!
Thank you! 🖤
If you want both on Monday check out bailey Sarian!
At first I was like, "oh you better be nice to my girl!!" but then I remembered that Robert is always nice.🤦😆
I've been thinning my liquid lipstick with a finger, like you do with a bullet one, for quite a while, and I love it. It does last longer, it's more wearable and if it fades, it will fade in a nicer way. Still pretty drying, but I don't mind it, I just hydrate my lips after I take my make up off.
I do the exact same thing but another step that makes it better and not drying at all is after youve dabbed it in with your finger, get a tissue and stamp your lips on it quickly! Excess product disappears, lasts me hours and fades even better and definately not drying!
You are still great at what you do.
I'm over 50 (52) classic makeup has been around for decades. Exactly.
I love Snitchery, her tips are always so helpful
You have reinvigorated my love for makeup... I was licensed in the 80’s (yes, I’m that damn old) but life got in the way of that career path. After finding your videos, I’m hooked again... and much better at it now 😄... Plus, you are so funny and sarcastic that there is never a video where I don’t laugh out loud! Continued success to you!
your excited agreements with Snitchery is just so lovely and positive!
I was following his brother and now i am more addicted to his videos and youtube keeps recommending me his videos . Makeup is more fun than skin tbh , at least for me .
I really appreciate that you aren’t here to claim glory and “credit” for yourself.
It makes me really believe that you are in this to help everyone and selflessly contribute to the makeup users of the world. This video made me so happy because I adore both Snitchery and you!
I totally agree with what you said about giving credit, (I'm a fashion designer and what you mentioned applies to everything, 'cause a lot of things are already done, or been created, everything else are just variations) However the way you apply concealer it's so refreshing to see nowadays, even though it's a classic technique, all we see in social media is an under eye packed with product. I'm glad you shared this video and appreciate you for sharing your knowledge. Love your humble personality. 🖤 (excuse my English I hope makes sense. I speak Spanish, mostly)
Could you imagine having to try to credit someone for putting shoulder pads in a blouse? 😂😂😂 🥰
@@tkmiller_author I knoooown!! 🤣🤣🤣. there's a lot of people out there that love to take credit for things they didn't invented or created, that's not very honest.
Your English is beautiful! 🤗💖
@@chenoda aww thank you sweetheart!
@@tkmiller_author who wears shoulder pads lol
I’ve been doing the “spot foundation” trick she does for 2-3 years and whenever I’d tell people they’d call me weird. Sometimes I’d get made fun of and told to do makeup the right way lol
IKR! I got made fun of for doing natural makeup too, they’re like “theres no difference, your face looks the same” :/
the way robert explain things is so thorough and so humble at the same time
"Spot-foundationing" - Robert smiles all over and nods enthusiastically. Cute ^^
This whole video is so smooth, it’s like a cream cheese on the toast of my soul.
Fuck, that is such a perfect analogy
I'm about to start a Zoom quiz, but so tempted to be late and to watch a bit of Robert first :)
😂😂🖤🖤
im really happy to see this "minimalist" makeup use coming back into style, thank you for advocating for this technique because i feel like influencers have been peddling the heavy cakey look for too long.
3 mins in and I’m overwhelmed by how humble you are Robert, you’re pretty much the only make up channel I watch now. You’re effortlessly hilarious, and very educational. You’re brill and I might be ya biggest fan.
I love how articulate he is, he speaks in such a nice way :)
Going on a Robert Welsh binge was the greatest decision of my life.
Nothing like a bit of sensible makeup advice to calm me down after a frustrating work meeting. 💕 I'm really starting to get used to these perks while working from home.
Thank you SO SO SOO much for the statement at the beginning of this video!! I think people often forget that makeup has been around for AGES and truly, nothing is really that “innovative or new” anymore! Of course there’s a technique that I follow for my clients ALWAYS but for myself, sometimes it’s fun to play around a bit! Love your videos xxx 🥰 - sincerely, certified MUA ✨
That’s a very good point! There are things I do on myself, that I wouldn’t do on clients!! 🖤
Her: Blush will make you cute no matter where you put it
Me: *sweats nervously in reddish face* nope
Edit: thanks for all the recommendations, they're very nice! My redness subsided quite a bit after I added a product with glycolic acid into my skincare, but I still don't wear much blush :)
For her, yes blush will make her look cute no matter where she puts it. Fr. She's just striking!🐾🖤
A few friends with very red faces swear by adding blush back in a different tone and more flattering place after obliterating the rest of the redness with it Cosmetics bye bye redness or green/yellow primers/concealer (skintone dependant) under their foundation. They’ve all said it adds dimension back.
up until like maybe this year, i'd put on blush and it would look like the rosacea I was trying to cover up in the first place lol.
@@LadyAhro I sometimes put on a little blush, but I mostly use light coverage foundation and strategically add a bit more where I need to have less redness. Works for me :)
I usually skip blush and use bronzer, so much pink in my skin.
I love Robert. He is always so kind and respectful and stays above the fray. He defines what a gentleman is.
Fun fact: Mariah Carey hates baking too!
I love her 💜
SNITCHERYYYY. omg two of my fave youtubers. I'm so excited
Robert when are you going to bring out merchandise with "Makeup has a theory" on it????
Many of us have ideas for merchandising. I'm not sure how many others have pestered him for it, but I know I have. 😳 Both he and James are flat out hilarious and quick with good one liners. I have no idea what goes into being a professional at this type of thing, like costs and shipping, and international logistics, so it could be tougher than it's worth. But who couldn't use a little black something or other with a splash of purple and stars and moons and general witchery-do-dads with snarky one liners?
Oh my god yessssss
Who else loves Robert welsh love you 😘
🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
I love both you and Snitchery very much for the same reason. You are both so respectful! It can sometimes seem like a rarity in media/social media because drama gets clicks. I don't blame the people following this dramatic narrative but it's nice to have a non-dramatic alternative.
I remember getting so frustrated when I first started watching makeup tutorials around 2015 and when I tried it out on myself it looked so textured and cakey. The makeup always looked so smooth on their skin even when they were packing on lots of concealer, foundation, etc. but it never looked good on me no matter what product or technique I tried. I'm glad that "real life" makeup/classical makeup techniques are regaining popularity as I only learned what worked for me through trial and error. More tutorials of this style when I was first starting to use makeup would've been so useful.
“People used to apply their highlight with a fan brush” yeahhh *used* to..... who would still do that... definitely not me 😶
😂😂 it’s not a bad thing at all!! It’s a really great way of applying a nice light layer of anything!
Robert Welsh okay I’m glad to hear that 😅 I feel like it used to be such a trend to use fanbrushes and then suddenly all the beauty youtubers acted like they’re really bad and moved on to another brush 😅😂
I do it because it gives a light layer and anything more than a light layer on me looks ridiculous. I hate full coverage foundations, and am super pale. Half the time I prefer drugstore products because they’re less intensely pigmented.
I never tried the fan brush for highlighter lol it doesn't make sense just looking at it.. I like using a small blush brush!
Fan brushes are nice, but the only problem is the fact that it doesn't allow you freedom in the shape of your highlight. It just looks like a defused straight line. I personally like my highlights to curve like my cheeks.
Robert, for real for real, I was never into makeup and I remembering coming across one of your videos earlier this year and now I have my own little collection of makeup lol your tips and tricks have been so freaking helpful! Just want to say thanks ☺️💕
When i watched Snitcherys video (this video) i immediately thought about your videos youve made doing "real like makeup" and i was like YES! Im sooo happy about this reaction video!
“... it looks natural, it looks real” I’m here for authenticity.
My makeup was good but so fake before, I needed to change that and Robert is the one to teach you how to
i do nearly drag makeup and use tips like this
just shows that this stuff actually works.
I adore Snitchery. I wanna just put her on a shelf in my house and chit chat with her all day!!
Your a diamond in the rough 😊
Your are so humble and and I would hope other RUclipsrs would take notes on how to be and ethics .
Thank you so much! 🖤
This video just popped up on my phone and I instantly read 'SNITCHERY' in the most panto-esk voice possible AHAHAH you bring this out in me..
😂🖤🖤🖤
What's panto? 😮
@@plumpy_space_princess Pantomimes in the UK are shows that get put on around Christmas time and they are overly exaggerated re-tellings of classic story's. Like Cinderella,Peter Pan etc :D
@@mandy7674 Oh, okay. 😂 thanks for sharing!
I dont have many followers but Robert my entire channel is based on natural lighting! I literally sit in front of my windowsill with a backdrop behind my chair because I love being able to show how colors look in real life just recording and taking pictures with my phone. Thank you for being such a helpful teacher! 💙
Anyone else wish he’d come to your house and do your makeup for you and go through all your junk makeup and leave u with everything u actually need? 😂😂
I WISH he could...love Robert
Omg I wish
I’ve literally been experimenting with different ways to apply my lipstick recently to see which effect I like best and I tried this couple dots of liquid lipstick blended out with my finger and I loved it! 🖤
I’ve been doing it for years because I like how seamless it looks! And I can actually reapply it that way! :) it’s exciting to see where beauty is heading this year!
Same. I've been blotting bullet lipstick with my fingers and it looks gorge!
Your maturity is so insane when you know all these other MUA‘s that are prominent here on RUclips, & I really appreciate it!
Loving what you’re doing here🥰
I love how Robert is being so proffesional, such a break from make up people on social media where they just try to sell you their stuff or drawing unnecessary attention to themself by stirring drama..
I know Snitchery is gorgeous, but I love hearing Robert compliment people's face shapes and talking about what looks best. I want to bask in his praise!
I didn't watch any makeup videos for a long while, and I just naturally began to use less product and experiment with different techniques. Been watching Snitchery lately and I love that she's breaking the mold!
Robert is a class act🖤
So glad you’re looking at her makeup !! I always love it and can’t wait for your take 💕
This is why we love you. Honest and humble. Keep it up!
I love the “sue them” the immediate switch was so funny 😂🖤 and we all love that you get it lmao
Honestly, Robert changed my life. I used to stress over my skin being to textured, or too oily, or too dry. I’m grateful to found the channel ;Robert. My makeup game totally changed.
