Hi Gemma! This video comes at the perfect time for me!🙆♀️ Right now in my fridge, there is a double batch of this very dough aging! My niece Sevda graduated from Pre-K last Friday. The poor love cried almost through the whole thing, even as she was singing the songs. It is not in her nature to openly show emotions like that. I was not able to be there so I wanted to do something really special for her. We are having a tea party with pink cupcakes and your best ever chocolate chip cookies💕💕! 1 cup (8oz/225g) butter
1¼ cups (7 1/2oz/212g) light brown sugar
¾ cup (6oz/170g) white granulated/caster sugar
2½ cups (12 1/2oz/354g) all-purpose flour/plain flour
1½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 large eggs*
2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional, but encouraged)
2 cups (12oz/340g) bittersweet chocolate chunks

Amazing tips! If I wanted to make these cookies thicker, would making the dough balls twice the size do the trick? Should I leave them in the oven longer, and if so, would it burn tbe bottom?

I've made this recipe multiple times & it does make for delicious, bakery quality cookies! Rave reviews from all my family & friends who've tried them!
The one thing I'd like to share is that simply scooping the chilled/aged dough is NOT going to happen. As you mention, the butter solidifies & makes it nearly impossible to shape into balls straight out of the fridge. I don't know how you manage to get your 1/4 cup measure through chilled dough but I could not. I have since chosen to shape the cookies as soon as the dough comes together & chill/age the already formed dough. They do sometimes need a bit of reshaping when it comes time to bake them off but the warmth of my hands is just enough to get them together & they are quickly popped into the oven.
I was just thinking that! How to scoop them up if they were aged/freezed?

I'd love to see a video where you compare the flavors and textures of your different chocolate chip cookie recipes! Crazy Cookie Dough vs. Best Ever vs. Internet's Best Chewy, etc. It's hard for me to know what makes them different. 💖
Hi Jessica. Texture and flavor among these recipes vary. Those are the main differences. Some use oil, others butter, even olive oil. The amount may vary for some ingredients as those are what gives a different texture of sweetness.

Another is dusting blueberries, raspberries or any other open wet fruits like peaches or apples, and combined them in your muffin, cupcake or pancake batter. Eventually the fruits won't bleed while they are cooking or baking. I got this tip from a chef from Berkeley's Bette Oceanview Diner cookbook. It works! and taste even delicious.

I mean dusting flour on fruits. Gently fold them to get the flour around the fruits, so they won't bleed in your batter.

Hi Gemma! It's me again! I love your recipes and I've never failed any of your recipes! They've always turned out great. Say, since this cookie is one of your most famous recipes. I don't have bittersweet chocolate, should I substitute it with milk or dark? It's the only thing I have here

It will be a different recipe for that. If you make smaller rounds with my recipe, they will still end up flat and chewy. I will see what I can do
