      And FYI - 500 Epochs really does make a better model if you have the patience. The model that comes from a 100 or 500 or 1,000 Epoch training session will have the exact same CPU usage when you are using them so the only thing you are losing is time while you wait for the Epochs to finish. Its worth it, IMHO!

    • @jasonzdora
      @jasonzdora Год назад

      Your model has more gain because the training file was louder than your guitar. Its a tough thing to balance them correctly.

    Hi Emil, I just tested your profiles and I overall liked the results. You have a lot of noise somewhere in the chain though, and I suspect also a little too much gain. Not sure if this is because of the device you're using to send the signal to the amp or something else, but your model ended up much noisier than most other high gain profiles I've tried. Would love to try some updated profiles if you manage to fix this

    With real amps or amp sims, you can boost the preamp or even the pwer amp by placing some booster ou overdrive pedal (set as a clean booster) before the amp. I guess that doesn't work with a nam profile... So creating an audio chain in a VST host (DAW, or another soft such as Element or Plogue Bidule) with a booster plugin before a NAM profile won't boost the amp profile as it would do if we were using a real amp or an amp sim ?

    Cool video. Say I want to capture some profiles of my OCD pedal, should I use a mono line-out from my DAW into the effectspedal, using a device like the CP8201 inbetween? Any suggestion on how to set the correct outputlevel on the interface going into the pedal?

    • @Rohbemusic
      @Rohbemusic  Год назад

      That cp8201 didnt work out quite well. In the next video i replace it with a better solution. But you can try without it. You want to lower the signal to the pedal with a passive volume control (analogue). I say its a bit of trial and error, I got it right the 2nd time. If you can messure the signal after the pedal you want to hit the same levels as with a guitar plugged in to it 👍

      @@Rohbemusic Thanks, just never seen one like that before, only the usual boxy ones. 🙂 I guess one pro with the boxes is, that they usually have a dedicated level knob. How it would differ from adjusting the output on your interface, I do not know. 🙂 Ground lift option too, of course.
