    This Trucking Game may not be a view from inside the cab, but it's the most realistic physics that a truck makes where you get to understand how to truck operates in reverse. American Truck Simulator (ATS)and European Trucking Simulator 2 (ETS2) are the best trucking games that you get, and I recommend that you play them, but my game is created for people to just get used to reversing a trailer.
    I have heard from so many users that truck schools across the country use my game and use my videos to show their students how to back up.

    Thanks David. My first time having to do this and my pin was sticking just a bit. The MTC handbook didn't mention lowering the suspension. That did the trick. (I did do it twice in training but that was a while ago)

    Your channel is so useful. I never get tired of watching your backing tips. With regards to sliding the fifth wheel. What if you do not have an air bag dump?

    • @MyTruckingSkills

      Then crank that landing gear down till there is no weight on the 5th wheel. Personally I've never been in a truck that didn't have it.

    Great step by step David. I do have a question; Why and when do you need or want to move the 5th wheel ? I'm assuming it may have something to do with weight distribution, or maybe to increase turning radius orrrr both ?
    To anyone that reads this, before you flame me, I'm still a student attending a transport training school. So I don't know anything.

    What would be an ideal location for the tandams when driving? I'm typically moving empties or very light loads so weight doesnt matter. Sometimes I get trailers with the tandams all the way back so I just guess. Very tight rail yards so hard to back with them to the rear

    • @MyTruckingSkills
      @MyTruckingSkills  4 года назад

      Personally I hate driving with my tandams all the way to the rear because it makes turning harder. I'll always driver with then all the way forward.

    • @michaelgreen5757
      @michaelgreen5757 4 года назад

      Thank you! Wasn't sure if they should be in the middle somewhere or all the way forward

    • @mattmurphy8288
      @mattmurphy8288 2 года назад

      Put your rear tandems as far forward as you can while remaining legal … easier to turn than having them further back…

    My truck doesn’t have the air dumps switch so what do you do in this case? Thanks

    • @MyTruckingSkills
      @MyTruckingSkills  4 года назад

      So the 5th wheel won't side easily if there is weight on it so there is Two options, find an empty trailer and slide it in that it crank your landing gear down so like 90% of the weight is on it and not on the 5th wheel.

    Why should I slide 5 th weel?

    • @MyTruckingSkills
      @MyTruckingSkills  4 года назад +1

      The main reason you would slide your 5th wheel is due to weight distribution. lets say the max weight on you steers is 12,000 lbs, and after you weigh you find that you are 12,300 lbs. you will need to take that weight off some how, you have options, kick your over weight passenger out of the cab, and a bunch of other stuff too, dump lots of fuel OR... slide your 5th wheel backwards one hole. One hole is around 450-500 lbs.
      Another reason is that if you haul smaller trailers. On a 28 foot trailer the landing gear closer to the front of the trailer and you mud flaps will probably get knocked off when you make a turn. it has happened to me. so slide your 5th wheel all the way back if you can.

    • @gf8848
      @gf8848 4 года назад

      @@MyTruckingSkills thank very much for information. Rule of thumb is 450 to 500 each hole . Any standard hole to set this up . I get my back axel to 6 or 7 hole when I have more 40.000.
