I would like to get send that picture please as well the picture that I took with the Undertaker, which I received the printed version but I would like to get the digital if possible. Wrestlers like Mankind and Undertaker are rare gems. We wouldn't have another set like that, ever... if never. 1990s was truly hardcore decade in wrestling, The Renaissance. Now-a-days we would be lucky if any wrestler would jump off the robes, muchless jump off a cage/cell match of any kind like that. Mankind and Undertaker took their matches and performance to a whole other level like no other. To this day, when someone asks what is the most intense wrestling match ever... I pick Mankind vs Undertaker as my number one always. It left such an impression on me as a teenager. Thank you Mick Foley and Mark Calaway.

    • @ArchangelSteve

Wrong way round; his tooth goes through his nose after he takes the second fall through the cell, a chair he'd taken up there earlier falls through with him and hits him in the face when he lands. When he goes *off* the cell he crashes through the announcer's table and then lies on the floor until he's stretchered out, when he goes *through* the cell he manages to prop himself up against a turnbuckle and he's checking where his tooth's gone with his tongue, which JR thinks is him smiling.

Mick Foley is easily the most underrated wrestler that has ever lived. When you think of the great "elements" of a pro Wrestler he's basically an A+ for all of them. Ability to carry and live not one but THREE legitimate characters (that right now in the awful state of wrestling would all be top-5 gimmicks), was great behind the microphone and his in-ring ability is extremely underrated. I think it's because of the Mankind/Cactus angles which pertained to less mat focused matches, that we just didn't see his true ability and genius as much as we could have. I really think he sit's up there with Brett/Curt Hennig in terms of technical ability - that's how good he was. Put it this way I never remembered him botching moves and when I watch his matches now, 20 years on, I smile at how good they are in terms of technique and construction. Really, really appreciate how good he was, what a legend

Was only ever passingly aware of professional wrestling growing up. I never really got it. It was fake. What was the point?
Yet I was always fascinated by what people saw in it. It's only as I have got older that I realised it doesn't matter that it's fake, it's simply about the show, and the show is very real indeed. As is the wrestlers' total commitment to the show. The Mick on this stage and the Mick beneath the mask in that match are completely unrecognisable. What he puts himself through in that match is unthinkable to someone who doesn't understand wrestling but hearing him talk about it shows what a complete professional he is. His commitment to the show is staggering. What a brilliant storyteller.

I was at that Rumble in 98' Was in San Jose. Mick came out first as Cactus Jack, with Funk as Chainsaw Charlie second, and the Rumble started off as a hardcore match. lol Poor Tom Brandi came out @ #3 and Mick & Terry stopped beating the crap out of each other just long enough to dispose of Tom in mere seconds. 😆 Mankind came out mid-Match and Dude Love made it to the final 4 with Austin, The Rock and Farooq. Mick had some ring time that night!

Just think: Two of quite likely the most legendary wrestlers at the same time in the most legendary match of all time.

The most amazing thing I’ve seen while watching wrestling - hands down. I caught it at a friend’s house by chance, and I watched wrestling for a few years after. I became an immediate Mick Foley fan.

he's still the toughest wrestler I ever seen without doubt in all of wwf history, I'm not mentioning the wwe history lol. I mean this guy had part of his ear torn off during a match and still wrestled. And this match well I think we all remember how much shit he went through and he still finished the match. Your one of a kind Mick Foley thanks for the amazing wrestling memories

Blaze it up 420 I'd say Sabu and Terry Funk give Mick a run for his money in the toughness category (a lot of Sabu's injuries were his own fault though to be fair, lol.)

I love you Mick. You're an inspiration, and a role model. You're a prime example of what a badass man looks like. Thank you for all the years of pain, hard work, and dedication you gave to the whole world. I've never heard a single human being speak badly of you. Every... and I mean EVERYONE, loves you. You are one of the best to ever do it, and you will forever be a giant amongst the league of legendary American entertainers. I wish you nothing but the best my friend. I hope the remainder of your days are filled with happiness, comfort, love, and laughter.

Foley was very athletic in his younger years. Dusty Rhodes type. May not look like an “athlete” but could go. His style took so much out of him so early. When he went thru the cell, he was only 23 days removed from his 33rd birthday.
