What’s up
Undertaker and mankind was one of my favourite feuds.
That was actually Vince McMahon who said that The Undertaker was alive at the end of that match just to clarify things a bit.
Where and how can I watch the full show ?
That part in Stepbrothers is hilarious "it's just like cold case files....it's just like cold case files..."
I love that the interviewer lets the wrestlers in these clips speak freely and without interruption.
I just wish he would laugh a bit at Micks jokes.
Not like Aubrey Edwards on AEW podcast lol
"ROLL TIDE"
Right😂😂
Yes
“Buried alive wouldn’t work in today’s PG era
*undertaker buries AJ alive*
They had a grave yard match didn’t they! That’s got to be far worse then just bearing a guy under some dirt at the arena!
so we just arent gonna talk about the match they literally had a month ago where the goal was to permanently cripple somebodys vision in probably the most painful experience imaginable
HHH has been doing it for years
Harder to do in front of a live audience. When its cinematic it's easy to do.
And immediately afterwards, Hornswaggle chases R-Truth into the boneyard and pins him clean to win the game 24-7 championship.
“But in my day we buried our opponents alive, and we l i k e d i t-“
Mick is an outstanding story teller.
Read his first two books if you haven't already! Incredible, hilarious and in some cases stomach churning stuff!
@@drsmainemusic thanks man! I'll have to pick them up. Lookin forward to it.
Mick is just awesome.
He really is! That ending had me laugbing so hard I couldnt catch my breath!
Its amazing how much of his mental faculties he still has after all those concussions. Mick is a national treasure and should be protected at all costs.
I could listen to Mick tell stories about his pro wrestling career for day's
That seems to be all he does these days! Beyond his spoken word tours, constant interviews like this do get old. I didn't think he would become one of those types.
@@musicfanhawk4523 so you’d rather him jumping off cages in his 50s?
Bearer is such an underrated manager, especially when he was a heel. I see a lot of lists, where he's absent & he was absolutely impeccable. From the voice, to the facial expressions, to that peacock strut he'd do... pure perfection.
I completely agree with you, alot of wrestlers will say that there was nobody more passionate and loved wrestling than him.
Mick rocking the Rhea Ripley shirt. Awesome.
As dan bryan said ur love for female talent is creepy
I really love that Mick Foley is such a great orator. It just gives him and all of his characters when I go back and watch his matches an extra layer.
He always finds a way to slip a AL SNOW joke in there lol
His first book was an absolute knockout of al snow 😆
@@slipknuts yeah I remember lol
@@slipknuts They even turned that into an angle.
Al Snow "found" a copy of Mick's book in a trash can. It was the copy that Mick had given to the Rock. That lead to a temporary breakup of the Rock and Sock Connection.
Later it was revealed that Al Snow had thrown the book away because of all the Al Snow jokes.
I seen this match live. I was 12 years old about to turn 13 and while I was a huge Undertaker fan, this match made him immortal in my eyes and also made me realize how great Mankind was. Greatest match I've seen live.
Lucky bastard. The only show I saw live was 1999 over the edge in KCMO. So all I remember, also as a 12 year old, was Owen hart. I legit can't remember anything else as an adult. Really just getting back into wrestling now.
I don't care if I've seen it a thousand times before, I'll always watch any video that features Taker and Foley.
I remember back in those days IYH PPV’s were like a Monday Night Raw episode on steroids
Pun intended ? 😂
I LOVED that Undertaker Mankind feud in 96. They had some amazing matches. As great as it was, The HIAC match was just the icing on the cake of an awesome 2 year rivalry.
Mick Foley is among the greatest professional wrestlers, and the Undertaker is right there with him. I vividly remember the Mankind vs Undertaker Buried Alive match. It really was an amazing thing to see happen.
There was nobody standing there when the “lightning bolt” struck and it was Vince screaming “HES ALIVE. THE UNDERTAKER LIVES!”
He is really a stuntman working as a wrestler. Legend.
He had better wrestling skills than he's given credit for. He was a decent amateur wrestler too.
He just knew that people didn't want to see him using hip tosses and arm drags. They wanted to see chairs, tables, and thumbtacks.
Just listen to Mick here. See how a good story raises the morale and willingness of everyone participating in it. If only today's WWE wrestlers had that.
Top storytellers in WWE history:
Mick Foley
Chris Jericho
Edge
Paul Heyman
Randy Orton
HHH
Sammy Italiano Austin, Scott Hall
Bret hart
Im remove orton and put in cm punk but thats just me 🙂
I was gonna argue edges place on your list cause I'm a huge edge head, but... you nailed the order perfectly
Jim Cornette
I always wondered how they pulled this off!!!! These inside stories are everything and it’s been amazing reliving my childhood and teenage years!
I had the honor of meeting Mick when I was 10. Such an incredible down-to-earth man and he was super friendly
Many of my favorite matches involve Mick Foley. One of my favorite moments is socko meeting the cobra. Legends colliding
Mick Foley has got to be one of the greatest story tellers of all time. I’m not just saying in wrestling either. Really as a person in general.
Foley, mankind, dude love is a LEGEND.
...Cactus Jack
Cactus Jack is more legendary than Dude love.
Mick is a great story teller. Very articulate and well spoken. Given how many head shots he’s taken, it’s a miracle he’s still coherent.
“After seventeen minutes of hard work AND being buried alive.”
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I started at 8am this morning.....watching some Jericho stuff from Inside The Ropes. Watched 4 or 5 videos. Now in on my 6th Foley video. It's 10.07am
Laziest Saturday morning ever. Love this. This guys are absolute legends 👏 🙌 💙 ❤️
I could listen to this man tell stories all day. What a damn treasure!
I could listen intently to Mrs. Foley' s baby boy read the classified ads in the Boca Raton Daily Gazette w rapt attention! The man has a way w words! Love ya Mick!
When someone has genuine passion and love about the subject they’re talking about it is impossible not to be enthralled and engaged when they speak. Such a beautiful story teller. Must have been amazing experience to be there.
I could sit and listen to Foley tell stories for hours.
I'm so glad he talked about the graveside small package. I've always wondered about that. Awesome story and awesome match
Mick's a legend man. I mean sure, there's a lot of wrestlers I'd like to meet, but Mick is one of 3 I'd actually like to hang out with for a day and get to know as a person, not just performer. He put himself through HELL and somehow is still humble. Like no Mick, there are people who are gifted careers in the WWE, then there's you, who ripped, tore, and bled his way to the top. You earned it, and you should wear that with pride. Bret Hart and Glen Jacobs being the other two (Kane, another man who you'd think wouldn't be humble but is, it's crazy lol)
I'd love to talk both wrestling and politics with Glenn Jacobs (Kane).
Hahahaha, just pretend you didn't see that! I was the warm up match for Al Snow
I was there in the crowd in Indianapolis. The Undertakers entrance was surreal!
It always was
I could literally listen to Mick Foley tell wrestling stories all day.
Man, the 90's had so many gifted storytellers, and WWE actually gave them the creative freedom to use those abilities. The results were long-term stories with fantastic payoffs. Now, every wrestler has to essentially read promos off scripts approved by Vince. Every now and then they give wrestlers some creative freedom and the results are way better than anything creative comes up with (see Bray Wyatt). The point is, fucking hands off Vince, let your talent do the work for you!
Yeah like bray and uncle howdy. That guy thinks he's more creative than what he really is. Now he's gone lol, with his puppets
I love his dress attire.
Just seeing Mick Foley makes me feel happy inside.
I was at that buried alive match in Indianapolis! A lightning bolt hit the "grave" after. Stone Cold had just started to becoming a fan favorite. He wrestled Triple H when he was still doing curtsies as Hunter Hearst Helmsley.
Wow!! I always thought that was the final match of the night🤣🤣🤣🤣
Mick stoping to say Hi to Vince will always be funny to me
Here just for the undertaker ❤️
Back when you had Smackdown vs Raw games and actually a Buried Alive Match in it. SvR 2006 I guess? Man those times as a kid were awesome. I want this time back so badly. But we all know that's not gonna happen. Thanks Mick for so many legendary moments.
Foley is the most wholesome wrestler of all time ironically
I loved Mankinds brown stitched up outfit. he had the perfect look to be The Undetaker's ultimate adversary. would have liked to have seen way more with Mankind, Goldust, and The Executioner. favorite matches back then were The Hollywood Backlot Brawl, The Boiler Room Brawl, and The Buried Alive match. still my favorite matches.
You guys keep doing the amazing job!!! Much love!! I love your videos
Loved the bushwackers, they were awesome and from my country as well 🔥🔥🔥
If Foley isn't God I demand a recount.
Mick has a lovely beard HAVE A NICE DAYYYY!
I love this channel, thank you
Glad you enjoy it!
i love that match. i love that whole feud. the buried alive match and the boiler room brawl were my favorites. i always used to rent summerslam 96 to watch the boiler room brawl! and when i was in grade 6 i drew a picture of the buried alive match on my portfolio at school lol.
I will always love Inside The Ropes for interviewing awesome wrestlers and being diverse as well
I love Mick so much such an amazing guy an amazing story teller 🔥🔥
I always felt Mike Foley would have been an amazing Hagrid from Harry potter
This guy has so much money and dresses like a homeless man 🤣 love it.
Hathor Bj ha ha that’s good man I agree
Saw him 2 years ago I swear the only thing he’s changed is his t shirt, nicest man you could ever meet
Cause Mick Foley is the Greatest of all time he doesn’t need million dollar clothes
he's wearing his original outfit, i think he does it for the fans
@@abdullahosmani13 a true legend
The Dale and Brenan referance on point
Legend of legends
9:57 I thought the video froze! Such a great story teller!
I appreciate what this man contributed to my childhood so much. When backyard matches broke out I never cared about being the winner all I cares about was that I was put through the most pain, the most brutality, and the most risk. (In appearance anyway) win or lose I never lost.
I loved watching your matches mick. You are a true legend
So that's why Al Snow ribs Mick so much.
Inside the Ropes is undoubtedly the best. Great Interviews
its crazy to imagine them doing matches like this more than once
Had to go rewatch this match after this video!
I LOVE that he referenced Step Brothers!
"Me, Johnny Hopkins, and Sloan-Kettering were blazing that shit up, everyday."
"He employs my son"
Vince: we're gonna have you cane Dewey
Mick is such a great story teller
...also, met Mick at an airport in 1997, extremely nice fella!
Love Mick foley what a guy
I have seen that tombstone in person. It was at WrestleMania Access before WM 27... It was the very first thing you seen when you walk in
Mick Foley (as Cactus Jack) beat Triple H in 1997 on Monday Night Raw in a Falls Count Anywhere Match. Undertaker lost a Casket Match to Yokozuna at the 1994 Royal Rumble and lost one to Goldust at In Your House: Beware of Dog a few months before the Buried Alive Match.
That's very good to know. Taker had specialty matches and the streak. And his survivor series performances.
Wasn't this match with Yokozuna where he was put in the casket by 4 or 5 guys?
@@madarafan2749 yes. There was like 10 guys that helped stuff him in the casket. Yokozuna, Bam Bam Bigelow, Diesel, Jeff Jarrett, Tenyru, Great Kabuki, The Headshrinkers, Crush, and Adam Bomb were the ones that stuffed him in the casket. He then returned at the 1994 Summerslam with the purple attire.
@@livewire4519 thanks. I only remembered Jeff jarrett
@@madarafan2749 No problem
mankind was one of my favorites growing up!!
Mick is the fucking best. Also, love that he's wearing a Rhea Ripley shirt!
Gotta love Mick! I wish I could spend a week with the gut, just jawing back and forth... over cover... beer... wine... whatever. He's got such a magnificent insight into professional wrestling; and such an excellent understanding of the business. Honestly, he'd make the perfect replacement for McMahon, when he decides to retire completely. HHH is just an egomaniac; and will destroy the WWE.
You know most people don't realize this but these matches are mostly appropriated to Roman gladiator matches where the underground portion left a lot of mystery as to what was actually going on.
I was 10 years old watching this live in the building. Couldn’t sleep for awhile, thought Taker was coming to get me in my sleep. Only to see him the next week. 😝
He did win a falls count anywhere match. In 1997 on raw against triple h.
I just was watching this last night
I would give anything to be able to sit down with him every Sunday for like a family dinner and just talk about the old days. What it was like to pin the rock for the world title in what was the biggest pop in history. His time in other promotions. Funny stories from backstage. Man that would be great
His first book is great and it's like he's there telling the story
I love Mick he's wearing walmart shoes, he's so humble
0:12 “beddied alive match”
Buried Alive Match in the PG Era is just any John Cena Match.
so boring
Well the PG era is thankfully over and John Cena barely wrestles anymore
2:07 "Back in my day, we buried our opponents alive, and we liked it!"
I never watched wrestling...RUclips randomly put this on after joe Rogan clip...WOW..it sparked my interest for first time...this guys a good storyteller.....just watched actual match for first time🤯
Watch Mankind V Undertaker King of the Ring 1998
I remember that match 🔥
My favorite thing about this video is the fact the mick Foley is wearing from what I believe are wal mart shoes. Super comfortable and affordable
The good ol days
Wooowwww!! And I watched that on ppv that night in like 1st grade😂😂. Who would've thought that the show continued after the "main event"
Honestly it should have been the main event with the last shot being Undertaker's hand sticking out of the dirt.
0:40 start off with thanks for the shout out Mick! Thankfully to have met you a couple years ago. Fun fact mick wont sign an empty beer can 😂
Goldust was also there to help bury the Undertaker. i really liked the Executioner and would have liked to see him more. I thought the Goldust Mankind pairing was very interesting/bizarre/deranged.
Actually it was Vince McMahon who made the call at Buried Alive. "He's Alive! The Undertaker is ALIVE! The Undertaker Lives! He will NOT REST IN PEACE!
I was in the locker room with the buschwhackers great guys some of the coolest wrestlers I was ever in the present of
I was at this ppv in Market Square Arena way back in October of 96 and I can say the New Rockers did not face the Bushwhackers after the buried alive match. It was The Godwins vs. New Rockers but after that WWE CHAMPION Shawn Michaels faced Goldust. In fact this was the first WWE PPV that did not have the WWE Champ compete on-air and the last time Taker wore his purple attire.
One of my favorite things in life was finding out that my favorite wrestler turned out to be one of the best humans alive today.
Mick foley is a wrestling treasure, a great character, story teller and seems like a genuinely nice guy
I came here right after watching the buried alive match he just mentioned lol
Damn I Thought It Was Just Me 🤣
I'm About To Watch The Boiler room brawl 😂
Just to hear Mankind and his hilarious verbal mannerisms 🤣
How can I listen to the full entire interview with Mick Foley and also all the other interviews with wrestlers like Shawn Michaels, ect?
