It could've been a decent PPV if at least some of the ECW originals won something , maybe even the ECW Championship one last time , but the whole show was centered around WWE wrestlers and most of the ECW legends lost to some jobbers and basically got buried like Great Khali slamming Tommy Dreamer right on to the entrance stage , the crowd was not happy at all.
Yeah well, it would've been better if someone scripted and developed some storylines. It was so wrong scripted than made MnM vs The Hardys to open (maybe the only good match) the PPV and they were not even in ECW 🤷♂️

I saw every original ECW PPV from Barely Legal to the final PPV Guilty As Charged and everyone of them was phenomenal. The 2 One Night Stands were good as well and when I bought the December To Dismember, what a waste of money.
We as an attitude era kid lets not hold nostaglia too close to our heart. My nephew and his friends are loving this new era of Dom the Bloodline and Cody Rhodes and hopefully Pentagon does debut. But the point for every era there will be a new generation that will grow up with and will become their nostalgia. So let them be cause tbh nothing will top attitude era, in OUR eyes.

What's sad is that the "good guys" were the ones upholding that Sports Entertainment aspect of wresting that many fans have grown tired of. Pro Wrestling died it's first death when the invasion angle ended.

It's the fact Vince overruled pretty much everything Heyman wanted to do, then had the audacity to blame him for the PPV being so horrific. No amount of tainted nostalgia will ever make WWECW good. It was shite. And this was the peak of it. Punk and RVD being the first 2 out of the Chamber match. Leaving it to Lashley who was still green, Hardcore Holly who had replaced Sabu, a guy on many people's Mount Rushmore of ECW, and who'd have been great in a Chamber match. Test who felt like the only one that remotely had a case to be in the match at that point, and Big Show who was in the worst shape of his career and needed a break (and he was also on board with going out first to help get Punk over as a major player.) This really was Vince at his absolute worst.
I legit hated Paul for so long... but... somewhere along the way I begin to respect and legit love his roles. The man is a stand up guy. He had some missteps along the way.. but I think ultimately he became exactly what he said in his hall of fame induction speech.
