    The best thing about Taker's podcast is that he corrects things that have been wrongly said about him. He did not appear in the media or in interviews to correct these matters. For example, there were rumors that Taker hated CM Punk which he denied. He even said he was proud of his match at WrestleMania 29.

    • @shaneomacdaddy
      @shaneomacdaddy 6 дней назад

      And also on the Stone Cold podcast years ago that the rumors of him starting his wrestling 🤼🏻‍♂️ career in 1984 and him being trained by Don Jardine were incorrect and that he began training in 1986 under Buzz Sawyer when he was asked if it was true 👍🏻 .

    I saw a clip the other day where Taker was saying that it’s his job to make this stuff look as real as possible, even if it isn’t, and safety is a primary concern, that he’d go backstage and have wrestlers ask him if he actually got injured. I presume that goes both ways.
    I think fans can really only comment up to a certain point. If it looks real, or brutal, chances are, the wrestlers are just doing their jobs well, and they know how to do them. What I’d worry about is if wrestlers came out and said, hey, this guy is unsafe. No idea what he’s doing. But nobody’s saying that about Taker. They’re saying they got taken care of, and it was a good experience for them.
    Add to that the pre-CTE knowledge era. Lots of judgement by people living in a different era, who’ve never done anything like this before and can’t know.

      Taker did the same to Lesnar at Unforgiven 2002, hit him so hard the chair bent. Same for JBL, Maven, Edge, etc. That's how they swung them back then, check out the Hardy Boyz hitting Lesnar and The Rock hitting Foley brutally like 9 times. He definitely laid them in but wasn't discriminating

    • @sparkywilson1405
      @sparkywilson1405 12 дней назад

      It's not lying to say you weren't targeting or discriminating against anyone when ALL your chair shots were stiff because EVERYBODY'S chair shots were stiff. That much is true. Taker doesn't even need to be in the room for a discussion on being unsafe. Well, I guess he can be if he wants to give a death glare to people who deserve it.. Rocky

    the middle of the chair is perfect shot, no edge or legs to dent your skull, makes a great sound that sounds painful as fuck, and really when your head is trained does not really hurt. and will not cause concussion if on the correct part of the skull ---- note: for a couple of shots only... not for 14 or whatever it was for the mankind rock match where mankind was handcuffed and had no chance to use the hands to protect the head.

    The issue with Kanyon wasn't so much that Taker had an issue with him being gay, if he didn't that's fine, it's that some of the boys in the back or someone with some pull knew or figured it out and singled him out to make an example of him. The angles the guy was placed in only make sense from the perspective of someone being sent out to be mocked for not fitting in to someone's ideal of "normal".

    Doubt the page /anyone from
    Six feet under YT will see this but if someone does. You should start putting video clips in
    These shorter videos. For example, show a 20 second clip of the maven chair shit while they’re talking about it, show the takers first tombstone as he’s talking about it etc. And just clip
    It over the video in post production. Just a thought/suggestion.
    Love the show ,
    I was a 90s kid, and love anything even somewhat attitude /ruthless era of wrestling!

    Taker had some of the best chair shots though.. they were clean and straight down the middle and they always looked hard af.. you could hear that smack from across the arena lol.. He would wind all the way back and bring it down hard..

    To put this in perspective, Yokozuna was well over five hundred pounds yet he never hurt anyone in his short career because he knew how to give and take. Taker did that for over thirty years and the opponents he faced were more unsafe than he ever would be and that's a testament to the quality of a performer he was and still occasionally is for spots.
