This is the best comment on RUclips!!!
Pause.
What People forget is Maven made it to Wrestlemania and won Hardcore Championship in the Era when Legends rolled as active Superstars like Undertaker, Booker T, Eddie Gurrerro, Rey Mysterio, Batista, John Cen, JBL etc. That place was stacked! For him to make it to Wrestlemania and Fight Goldust who is a Legend himself in that legendary Era, Massive Respect for him, He lived the Dream & thats Success! You cant compared that Roster with today's Roster
There really was an entire generation of young talent that had nowhere to go up the card because the card was so stacked at that time, and there wasn't another company that could seriously compete with WWE. I mean think of how loaded the roster was during that 2002 to 2012 era? You had top level talent feuding over the midcard titles, so where were those younger guys supposed to go? I mean of course you had Orton, Cena, Batista, and Lesnar who were groomed for success, but aside from them there was very little room for up and coming guys to get a slot. Maven was unfortunately in that group in my opinion but he certainly wasn't one of few. So many promising talents weren't allowed a spot in that era
@Captain_Insano_nomercy I imagine this is also the reason guys like AJ Styles avoided joining the WWE at that time. As good as they are, and AJ is one of the all time bests, they'd get lost in the midcard shuffle back then
@aninfinitemindofmusicandreams yeah the TNA guys had room to get themselves over, at least until it started to become WCW 2.0, but during that era TNA was a better place to be for a younger guy
This xxxxxxxxx

Never once been a wrestling fan, and honesty I’m still not a “fan” but one day Maven’s channel was in my RUclips suggestions and I’ll be damned if I haven’t watched every single video and subscribed to him. Hearing the ins and outs of that industry, paired with his passion and storytelling makes for crazy compelling content.

Maven is so good at telling stories
His content is so relatable to do many people even if they're not wrestling fans. His wisdom comes from living through so many hardships that I can't help but feel inspired. Keep it up maven. You reach so many

I'm pretty burnt out on wrestling podcasts and behind the scenes type wrestling content these days, but Maven and Taker are a breath of fresh air. This podcast was too short.

I also can’t help but feel like he was a missed opportunity in the WWE. He is so well beloved right now and I even know non wrestling fans who like him.
I really think the WWE should hire him as a commentator or bring him back as an interviewer at live events (or backstage segments). Seriously he’s a star and it’s such a wasted opportunity. When the Undertaker is literally praising him and saying his podcast was inspired by Maven - he is doing something right.

Not everyone can be the clean up hitter, or the Main Eventer, but you were there, dude, and I'm glad to see you embrace it.
Thank you guys for a great show! Both of your channels rock the content
Right. He got to work with legends like taker, hhh, hbk, orton etc
If you’re remembered fondly in wrestling by fans, you done your job
Maven comes across as someone who appreciates everything he had, and doesn't hold grudges or resentment or think he should have had more.
Everyone who hates on a wrestler is just jealous they'll never be a wrestler cause they're stuck in a 9to5 😂
Even in the context of RUclips, he's doing a great job! Someone like Undertaker has his subscribers because of who he is, Maven has his subscribers because he puts out genuinely higher quality RUclips content than other wrestlers.
One of the coolest things about Maven and his RUclips channel is it’s become more than his wrestling. Maven is a moment in the WWE history, here he’s a front runner in wrestler RUclips genre, no longer a moment, he a trendsetter and genre leader, thats a really cool thing to have when we’re talking to a wrestler who doesn’t wrestler anymore talking about wrestling
Maven needs to be in the 2025 Rumble. That’ll be a great pop man

Undertaker reading a Blue Chew ad is insane 😂😭
Am I the only one who is happy that Taker's podcast is not on the WWE Network or Peacock and is on RUclips because they are not restricted and they do, say and host whatever they want. Even Mark Callaway seems very comfortable. Also, the channel is growing rapidly.
This just confirms undertaker is tapped in 😭😭😭😭
RUclips unrestricted 😂
youtube is restricted and Undertaker said in an earlier podcast... that WWE listens in so Matt was picked for one reason because he understands what they could and couldn't talk about.
@@TheTimMalcolm It seems that you misunderstood me. What he meant was that WWE would have told Taker that you should host this and not host this as well. For example, when the undertaker rates his top wwe small guys of all time spoke on his channel and Chris Benoit said, “You think WWE would have allowed this?” Of course not. They will not allow him to mention his name. This is my point. I hope you understand, as I am terrible at explaining. 😭😭😭
They would want a percent of his profit.

Pro wrestling lore always hooks non-wrestling fans. I work with a couple guys that never watched wrestling but watch shoot interviews regularly.

The reason I love Maven’s RUclips content so much is because of his come up. He was just a fan like any of us, went on a reality show and ended up in the WWE. It kinda makes me feel like we’re all one step away if they brought back tough enough lol

By the way about that rumor that he strike Kanyon hard because he was a gay, and Taker said "someone put that rumor out", this "someone" is Kanyon himself. He was sure that Taker was supposed to bury him, and punish him for his sexuality. This topic was brought at Dark Side of the ring. It is sad that Kanyon was that bitter at that point of his life, to think that way.

Funny that someone would say that Maven "only spent 5 years in the business, he can't know shit," when that length of time truly is an eternity, as Taker aaid.
The Attitude Era was less than 5 years. The Rock's initial run from debut to first Hollywood departure in 01 was less than 5 years, with his overall full time career being less than 8 years.
You can get a shit tonne done in that time, and you can pick up a whole bunch about the business, or any stories. Maven giving his view on things is absolutely valid.
you gotta think, they on the road and doing shows multiple times a week almost every week of the year. That is like a 2021 car that has 200,000 miles, when you typically see that kind of mileage on cars nearing 10 years old and beyond
S**t, Brock’ first run was what, less than 3 years?? Correct me if I’m wrong haha, and I’m sure Lesnar did and learned a lot in his first run. People are ignorant to think Mave didn’t learn anything in his short run.
@@Zambineaux305 Lesnar's first main roster run was even less than that, just 4 days shy of 2 years. However, he did also spend ~2 years in OVW.

I remember most of the TV memories these 2 are talking about. The content is super interesting because that golden era that gave us so many memories is layered with so mnay differrent perspectives which helps people of my generation relive those moments.
Keep it coming @Maven and @Taker
The part about an hour in when Taker is talking about psychology is pure gold. I see a lot of wrestlers these days that doesn't get the concept of it at all. A guy will take spinning spiked piledrive from the top of a ladder though two or three tables, kick out of the pin at 2 and start locking up and doing highspots. It's melts my brain when I see that shit.
Yes it feels like that. It's like having a big platter of quesadillas. It's delicious but how can you enjoy that when you have to inhale it all up without tasting it properly and enjoy the efforts the cook made to make it delicious.
@@stalinsoulz7872 I look at it a bit more negatively than you do. It's like a big ol' platter of the nastiest shit anyone could ever eat. Ox assholes or something. I just want a bacon cheeseburger, man. There's no reason nor logic to half the shit that goes on in a wrestling ring these days. On a weekly basis I see dozens of things that make me think "Terry Funk is doing moonsaults in his grave right now." Nobody tries to convince anyone that anything is even remotely real anymore and it just makes the whole thing pointless. Any goof with athletic ability can learn how to do moves, but it takes actually talent to convince people of things. Now we need ‘Taker on MAVENS CHANNEL✅✅❄️
Love Maven and his RUclips stuff. Thanks for having him on.
This period in history is the most perfect embodiment of "it was the best of times, it was the worst of times" lol because the worlds on fire but we live in a time we get content like this to consume! I havent been big into wrestling in almost 15 years but mannn this type of content is reigniting that love for the sport all over again. Maven is such a great personality and a fantastic ambassador for the industry and taker is as legendary as they come and also is a great personality to watch. Some of the best content on youtube of any genre period, not just wrestling!
We are in a special time and era , The Undertaker is doing a podcast and that's awesome first of all but my childhood hero is giving an ad for Bluechew lmao 😂 this man is now has just hit another level of legendary. From Rest in Peace to chew it and do it

Talk about seeing two wholesome individuals dedicated to their craft... One for 30+ years and one for 5+ years. This is beautiful to watch... I Don't think I've listened to something over a few minutes long in years. Thank you Mark and Mave for what you did and continue doing. The amount of respect shown by each of you to one another... The world would be a better place with more men like you.
Such a great episode. So glad all involved listened to the audience. Maven is a hall-of-famer by default with having the respect of the man who was ontop for 30-years. Thank you so much for all the memories.
You listened to us and we love you for it! Thank you for a great fun episode 😍🙏👏👏
Easily one of the best podcasts out there! Hopefully we can get Maven again!
The podcast the wrestling world has been waiting for 🙌🏽
Thoroughly enjoyed that. Thanks Matt, Taker and Maven.
