If you use Flex Time for corrective timing edits, at some point you'll want to compare the before and after results. Are your quantizing and manual edits helping or hindering your audio? So you turn Flex off for your tracks and take a listen. But when you turn Flex back on, problems can arise. Do this instead.

Chris - I've been using and teaching Logic for over 30 years. Your videos are the ONLY ones I recommend.
i really can't believe ive spent so much time on logic without knowing about track alternatives! what a game changer. thanks so much for the gem 🙌
I was using Project Alternatives to separate a weekly podcast I edit by episode for the current month. After watching this, Track Alternatives is an even better way to do it!
Thanks, Chris, great vid!
Chris.- every now and then a video changes the whole way I work. I think this is one of them. Setting a high bar already for 2024!!!
THIS channel!! You're a gem!! PS - there is a missing zero on your subscribers!
Love track alternatives, thanks for all you do chris!
Awesome video Chris!
Great video! I've already shared this with a few friends new to Logic Pro!
great video! This will help my work flow. I always seem to get weird phasing or artifacts when flex editing multi mic drums. I have all the drums grouped, and quantize-locked and the kick and snare have the green "Q" button hilighted. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Thank you, wow I didn’t know I can rename track alternative.
Logic Pro Rules Rules. Thanks for the tip!
Great, I'm currently switching from Cubase to Logic. There are track versions in Cubase. I missed this in Logic. Now, thanks to your video, I know that this function also exists in Logic.
Idea for next time
Try logic pro on Vision Pro
Hey Chris. I've had an issue with the automatic quantization of the flex, specially with drums. Once you move any part of the track, it modifies the phase and sounds at tempo but the white parts or gray parts (flexed parts) now have phase issues. You know how fix that? I've seen this happen mostly with instruments with many mics of sources cause even if you have the group activated, each mic has different information and flexing them, it causes phase issues
Here’s one I can’t solve re flex editing. When I turn it on I’ll get loads of more solid transient markers in the regions that don’t shift about. And when you remove them they’ll jump to a different location. Proper pain in the arse! Any idea what these are and how I get rid of them?
If you enable Flex Pitch for one track alternative, does it resample the audio for all of the track alternatives in that track? I often want to compare a tuned vocal to the original, especially to see if the quality was reduced, and it would be nice to do it in the same track instead of having duplicates all over the project.
Your vids are great but you only need 5 minute to explain this
Let's see you make one then
What's the rush? ;-) Otherwise, there's always the manual, much faster than pulling up the video, but obviously minus the real world examples and process Chris gives us here.
