Wow..... that was so cool. I have been using the marquee but not nearly in it's full capacity. I will now. Thanks for this video, it's really informative.
I was wondering more about this tool.. & yes I am now sold! I have been wanting another tool slot for either shift or another key.. since Logic 5 (I have been using Logic since V4) I have always had the pointer & the scissors as the 2 clicks.. this will be my new default as I can now have the automation tool in place of the scissors!!! You Sir are a life saver!
I usually ignore the marquee because I find I'm accidentally cutting regions when I don't intend to (from not paying close enough attention for clicking in top vs bottom half of track). But tip #9 for repeats that *include* extra space is worth the price of admittance - that's something I'm always manually working around and now I have a fix. Thanks Chris!
I have created a workflow for myself to avoid this. 1) Right mouse button = Is Assignable to a Tool. 2) Disable Marquee tool click zones. 3) Assign Marquee tool to the right mouse click. I think this provides the best compromise there is.
Hi Chris! I love your channel! But I have a sidebar question: I’m looking to link two MacBook Pros together in order to use one for synths and drums and the other for vocal processing while on stage. I have (for my live setup) a MacBook Pro with the M1 Max that I want to use for synths and Maschine; and also another MacBook Pro with the M1 Pro that I want to use strictly for vocals and heavy FX processing. Do you happen to know if it’s possible to link/sync them??
I've actually started using Logic for audio editing instead of Protools since discovering the marque and fade tool click points. Apple should create a special 'smart' tool like exists in Protools and other DAWS allowing easy cutting, fades, gain change, clip separation etc using just one tool.
Any chance you have some insight into accessing a marquee tool in Logic Pro for iPad? I’m editing voiceover and need to trim a ton and can’t figure out how to do that on the iPad version.
Hey Chris, thanks for your videos as always. I wanted to ask you for help on this (that I see many people struggling on the logic blogs): I made a Logic session with an idea in 70 BPM, I started adding instruments but later on I decided to make the song at double of that tempo, 140 BPM (for the sake of rhythm feel). if I double the tempo to 140 BPM, the arrangement gets all messed up. I have a load of automation written and the arrangement works, so I want to keep this in place. So, what is the correct way to do that in Logic Pro? It happens to me here and then with new ideas, and it seems to be a simple thing but I cannot find an solution to the problem.
Thank you on behalf of the logic marquee tool, eventually recognized and honored.

Excellent video, as always. Logic Pro rules and so do you! :)
These tips are MANNA!! 🙂 Thank you, Chris!

Thanks for the help as always! You certainly made the switch from Pro Turds to Logic a breeze.
