This wonderful show - thank God they did not update it for these current horrible times. It would be vulgar and violent. I like to watch these old shows and pretend to slip into the past.
I just loved how Lloyd Haines' character always cared for his students. He was always around when they needed someone to talk to. He was like a caring father, a counselor to his students. He was also very handsome from my point of view.
Room 222 was tremendously controversial in its day. As gentle as it seems today in the era of three networks, Vietnam, race and the so-called ‘counterculture’ paved the way for the growth of the most influential medium in history.
WoW,I`m back in my old time again watching this & i do declare that i truly do miss these old days,we were characters just as these students if not worse lol so now i must give you Gratitude for the memories of my teenage years i will treasure always, you have made my morning all the more grande, enjoy your day!
A time when although things were changing it didn't move as fast as the change of today. I met Ta-Tanisha (Pam) in this series, yesterday. She is a beautiful lady. Watching, I was instantly reminded of my childhood. A great show then & now. Thanks for posting!
I was in my first semester of college when this program aired in 1969. No wonder I barely remembered it. Television watching was not my major or minor!
I missed so much TV or any of the usual leisure time activities in my years at college. So much time was spent reading then writing papers. Barely able to carve out time for eating, sleeping or even a social life.
@A. Z. I come from a family of jazz musicians... I am the oddball (in more ways than one) because I chose athletics over music, but I have a love for music and a cultured ear. I think Quincy was experimenting with different percussive instruments in the mid to late 1960's and that's where I heard it first. But, of course, C.W. McCall's 1975-76 hit "Convoy" was my favorite Top40 song with that instrument.
I just finished watching Riche's story and the story was so amazing. The ONLY thing that I remembered was the opening and the bus doors closing when she was just standing there. WOW this is so wonderful!!!
That was Los Angeles High, which I think was around Pico and Fairfax. It was torn down in 72 after being declared structurally unsound after the 71 quake. There are lots of huge multi building campuses in Southern California, with no interior hallways.
@@junkboxxxxxx My brother went there in '69/70 met Hidy Ochai, Ed Parker, Angela Davis and some other visiting notables. I think I remember him telling me that Thomas Evans, younger brother of Mike "Lionel" Evans was a classmate, but I I'm not certain. Thomas made at least one famous film; "Trouble Comes To Town" with Lloyd Bridges and Timothy Bottoms. Remember that one?
It’s odd that skinny jeans worn by men back then once again became popular today. I myself don’t like or wear skinny jeans I refuse to wear jeans that are too skinny too tight and absolutely useless
I don't get those people ln charge at networks,A show like 90210 goes about 10yrs.And yet a show like Room222 gets axed stands up through the test of tyms, really a show about rich kids living ln Beverly Hills that sure is a pipedream!!!! Whereas Room222 dealt more reality, how highschool really was n not Gucci shoes or designer bags😮😢😂

Oh WOW! Teri Garr!! I had no idea she had been in Room 222!
And with a Y!
She was in a lot of rooms 😊
The 1969 fashions are swinging!
Far out.
Groovy, man!

Same here
@@debbiemeyer2146 Thank you for responding.
No obnoxious self entitled teens... No weird piercings or tattos either..I wish I had a time capsule.
amen to that! Let's hope noone gets any ideas!
But this was 1969 wasn’t this the radical counterculture where there was political and social turmoil in America
Watched this 11/15/2022 and realized how fortunate I was a child to watch this when it first broadcasted. Amazing writing. Timeless lesson.
I was 5 years old.
@@oliviajohnjohnolivia8142 yes, that's great that you remember it
@@oliviajohnjohnolivia8142I’m an Olivia too. There weren’t many of us in the 1960’s. Popular name now.

OMG, that's a young Teri Garr in the opening scene!
I love Lloyd Haines character. He was my favorite on the show.

He was great! He died way too young, only 52. Cancer sucks!

Room 222 lended credibility to education: Room 222 exhibited true honesty in the pros and cons of education.
I like in the first episode she says, "Do you prefer colored, negro or black?" He says, "Oh, I've always preferred Pete." So good.

Music reminds me of St. Elsewhere, another golden oldie.
You may be able to find that show on Solarmovie or something similar, if it is not banned or outlawed where you live.
Ohhhh….this brought back memories I long forgot from my childhood. I used to love watching this show with my family.
groovy, absolutely together!!
Thank you for uploading! Strange how so long ago things just played--no oddball digital interference as there is today.

Young Terry Garr as well.

Judy Strangis - what a cutie.
Her father was in TV and very likely used his influence to get her the role. Don't know her being on any other show other than this one.
@@msr1116 oh yes, she was on the 70s show Electra Woman and Dyna Girl and she did a whole bunch of voice over work!
@@sexymama1966 yep! the voice over work was mainly because she had a stalker! Man she was sure cute!
@@msr1116
I remember her being in a ABC Movie Of The Week "Congratulations, It's A Boy" with Bill Bixby
Room 222's version of the broadway Musical "Hair".
Too bad they couldn’t sing just a portion of a song from Hair. Apparently it was too expensive.
ahh Judy Strangis! For me she will always be Dyna-girl!
This show was right up there with Engine 51, Starsky and Hutch, Emergency, Columbo, Rockford Files....
Don't forget Jaws.
Macaroni and cheese in the school cafeteria was actually very good.
Really enjoying this ;D and the music score is perfect
Wonderful show 💯
Love the use of the Vibra-Slap in the opening theme.
This theme song along with Hawaii 5-0 must have made that instrument famous.
You must be a musician to recognise "the vibraslap" I use to have one🎶

I was wondering how they made that sound, the most memorable part of the song!
Loved this show
Helen is Dyna Girl from Electra Woman and Dyna Girl.
so much...warmer :)
The Magnetudes were totally groovy.
Oh, that Karen Valentine was so very damned cute. I'm pretty sure... in a perfect world... she'd have been mine.
Groovy!!
She talks like Sarah Palin.
Karen could rock her micro
Good catch on the comparison!@@flintknudsen2155
I remember watching this when I was a kid, but I DON'T remember it having a laugh track. (Memory is NOT what it was)
They removed the laugh track after the first few episodes

Judy strangis is my favorite student
After all that crappy paperwork you should have yourself a good IPA
Riker sounds like Star Trek
Surprised The Magnitudes didn’t make the big time!
Where is this Walt Whitman high school and why is it so big? It looks like Notre Dame.

What brought the Democrats back in??? Ballot harvesting??? 😂😂😂
This show much better without th laugh track

Terri Garr as Maryann
Terry Garr!
Where's the yellow footprints 👣 oops those two I mean as it were if you will.

Wow! I hadn’t even noticed
And here I am watching it on 2/22/22!😄
I'm late to the party but better late than never
Terri Garr!!
Don't drink and drive bad news
It’s odd that skinny jeans worn by men back then once again became popular today. I myself don’t like or wear skinny jeans I refuse to wear jeans that are too skinny too tight and absolutely useless
Everything always comes full circle.
Straight legs.skinny jeans are more extreme.
