I used to watch this show with my parents when I was a little girl. I was 7 when this episode first aired. I'm flabbergasted to realize that I'm now older than Nancy Walker was when she appeared in this. Time melts away like a snowman in summer.

If you do the math it comes out that she was born in 1922 and according to Wikipedia that is her actual date of birth. Valerie Harper was born in 1939 (in real life according to wikipedia) and she would've been 17 if she had her in real life. So that makes sense to me. On the show Valerie says that she was born in 1941. So yeah, the writer's played around with the dates. But I think she Ida looks 70 and really bad too.

I don't think Ida is being honest to the doctor about her age. She probably cut off 5 or 6 years.

It's not unusual for ppl from that generation not to go to doctors. My grandma didn't. Unless something was super wrong

Seriously, this show does Brenda so dirty. Every episode, she's dying for a date and male attention, this episode she has it, and they make her a prude! SMH. They should have let that girl get it on, had herself a GOOD time!!

StrongnBeautiful, it’s that very neuroticism that drives so much of the comedy.
