This looks like a lot of fun, given how powerful it is for it's small size but I was expecting a smaller hotspot. I am excited for mine to arrive, too bad it came when it's starting to get cold though. You have an underrated channel. Keep on the good work!
@@LiquidRetro okay okay, makes sense. And something else, do these flashlights go bad after a little while? I read somewhere they degrade fast but I can’t research anything on that
I know the antman has been getting a lot of hate online. But after watching your review it seems like a great little light. What do people expect out of a light the size of an 18650 battery. Keep up the good reviews.
Totally pulling the trigger on the ant man. I’ve been waitin since the first white laser came out and it’s time, tech is where I want it to be. Hopefully it last for a long time
Gonna wait for 18650 LEP thrower with a pair or more of high CIR 3700K or lower floods on the side. Hopefully by then LEP tint will come down to the warmer side. 4000K LEP with 4000K floods would be fantastic as well. Until then, I got everything covered.
Thank you for the review and tbh Ant-man looks legitimate worthy edc light, say what are the specs? As in how long does it last with battery? How long to charge?
I’m sorry, I haven’t conducted any runtime tests. I will say however that the driver seems to be just a direct drive, and as voltage from the battery drops, so does lumens. So this light only hits top lumens (200lm in my case) for the first few minutes. I’ve definitely played with the light for 15-20 without killing the battery, but I doubt the light would last more than 30 minutes because the battery was below storage charge when I was done. (Below 50% SOC)
My favorite is the Astrolux WP2. It is a full sized LEP and very intense. Some models like Astrolux’s own WP3 throw a bit farther, but the reason I like the WP2 the most is it has the cleanest tint and best UI of all the LEPs I have. The rotary UI is fantastic.
Buy alternatives to lumintop. I bought a Thor 1 that had manufacturer defects on the tail cap. I contacted their customer service twice and included pictures and a video but they never responded. I then bought one of their lights from Amazon in part to be able to contact lumintop through a different channel. They responded but were no help and told me to fix it myself. Unfortunately with these Chinese companies, once they have your money, they will ignore you. They could have had a lifetime customer if they handled it appropriately, but I won't buy another one of their lights.
I've read once Flashaholic of RUclips mentioned about Lumintop quality being sub par.. After reviewing so many torches I would have no reason to doubt him. Even though the new Thor 3 looks the most tempting..
The Welltool W5 and other LEPs being released lately haven’t impressed me. Most of these lights I buy out of pocket, so I have to be choosy about what I pick up. I’m waiting for the next big thing in LEPs….
I like it. To me it’s just underwhelming though.. One mode.. short battery life. I have the skylumen mini. It is a very pocketable. 21700. Not much bigger than convoy s2. It throws about as far as the fenix tk30 and an incredible amount of run time. An option to consider if one is looking for an edc lep. I don’t know skylumen personally. I have many lep torches and the mini has got to be my most used.
Its a flashlight nerd thing, and I'm not against it. I doubt most of these guys use them for hunting. The money they have invested in their lights could buy them a night vision or thermal unit for that. I have all of those things.
@joshua I put a blue emitter in my GT Nano, because it was already a “meme flashlight” with poor performance and terrible battery life. So why not help it to scatter more, and make it look more like a lightsaber?
Unfortunately it varies a lot, so I didn’t want to quote anything in the video and have it immediately incorrect. www.nealsgadgets.com/products/lumintop-ant-man-lep-flashlight?_pos=1&_psq=ant&_ss=e&_v=1.0 has it for $129
because it can be dangerous as it is a laser and amazon usually doesnt want to be liable for it. also its not like other lights which are sold virtually everywhere since they are manufactured for many different companies
Your neighbors be like: _ah it's that flashlight dude again_
Fucking crying over here!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was thinking the same thing! :D
🤣
Awesome thanks. Love how you show the different lights together to compare.
What I want to know is: how are you shining that light into all those houses... and not getting your ass kicked🤣
Can't wait to have one, truly a beast for its size. The beam and hotspot is somehow usable for EDC, I must say, compare to usual LEPs.
I prefer the white light just in case I’m ever at the bottom of the abyss attempting to cut the colored wires of a nuclear bomb
Thanks for showing off the Ant Man! Ive got one coming in the mail. And nice collection of lights for the comparison.

Thank you for your kind words!
i just got mine two days ago. i have tons of olights but now im trying out other lights. this one seems perfect for edc
Do these tend to not work in the cold? Is that because of the how the light works? Or the battery being cold?
@@Nate-vh7et likely the battery

Don’t forget that green is better visible in the night for our eyes even if it was the same measured brightness.
Amazing output from only a 14500

You got lots of fancy lights
I must start a collection too! 😮😊
Yes you do
Hi, great review. Im just gettinginto LEP's whats your favorite?

So you modded the GT Nano and swapped out the emitter for a blue laser? That thing is cool.
This comes from the manufacturer like this. LEP is laser excited phosphor.
Could you use this Auntman for self defense? Woukd it flash blind an attacker in the daylight?
Really interesting question. I also would like to know the answer.
@@LawAbidingCitizen117 Sadly, we may never know...lol
I want to put a blue emitter in my gt nano
I know I would pay
I do emitter swaps if you want to contact me about it. I have some blue and green OSRAM emitters on hand.
Would it be possible to put a convoy metal clicky switch into the Ant-Man?
Not without major modifications.
Are you planning on doing more LEP videos?
The Welltool W5 and other LEPs being released lately haven’t impressed me. Most of these lights I buy out of pocket, so I have to be choosy about what I pick up. I’m waiting for the next big thing in LEPs….
@@cheule Awesome! This is exactly why I asked. I figure you have a better perspective on what's good and what's not.
Why would someone want a blue emitter? I genuinely don’t know? Is there a particular use case scenario or is it just for fun?
The beam shows the best in the air. Like a lightsaber!
certain types of people flee whenever they see blue lights
salut et belle vidéo , où je peux trouver la nano gt avec émetteur bleu ? merci
I swapped the emitter in it. It’s not very hard to do, check out my video on emitter swapping: ruclips.net/video/itW4m458A0g/видео.html
@@cheule Merci beaucoup , continuez comme ça c'est super vôtre chaîne :)
Is there anything that has decent CRI that is also an LEP or is that not really possible?
I don’t know if any high CRI LEPs. The way the phosphor surface is excited by a blue laser don’t seem to produce enough wavelengths yet.
😎👍🏽I gotta get one👍🏽🤩

which throws further the catapult mini or antman?
Honestly, I prefer the catapult mini!

No problem 👍

How did you mod the GT Nano to blue?
Why do people put colored emitters or filters in their lights?
hunting as some animals have a hard time seeing green or red

Yes
Why the guck this so hard to find on a trust worthy website why amazon not sell sick of this

comparing 18650 lights to 14500 lights arent comparable. you cannot test different battery sizes and output. not a fair comparison
Testing LEP to LED is already apples and oranges, so why not?
