Thank you for introducing me to Collard greens, I always passed them by at the market because I didn’t know what to do with them. I followed your instruction and I’m hooked on COLLARD GREENS. Thank you so much for taking the time in the making of this video. I felt as if I was standing next to you and you were giving me a private cooking lesson. Again THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I've never had good Kale or Collard greens in the Summer. No matter how long they cook, they never get tender. My Mom says that the frost has to hit them first in order for them to be tender and good. Greens to me are a Fall or Winter treat.

The cleaning 🧼 she would put just little dish washing, and wash the leaves 🍃 and then put salt and wash the leaves again. At least 5-6 times. I watch her all the time. Traditional old fashion cooking 🧑‍🍳. Thank you 🙏 sister, it is an Honored Tradition. These girls women today do not know how to cook, they need to watch you.

Hi Miss Gina, that looks so good. I have never made this but have always wanted to try it. This made my mouth water. My mother and grandmother used to talk about this meal but never made it. I will have to share with my Auntie when I do make this. Oh, BTW those pin bones are tendons and my mother-in-law would take those out before cooking the legs. It actually makes the meat more tender and easier to get off the bone. Get a brand new pair of plyers that will be used only for the kitchen, which is what she did. And you can find the tendons at the base of the leg by the knuckle. Just grab it and pull them out. Sometimes they are tough but keep at it until you get most of them out. Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful weekend.

My California cousins, grew up here eastcoast Virginia. Their mom never cooked collards. I took your greens to a family dinner. they were like "no way". I talked them into trying 1 fork full. I made a lot of greens. Guess what? I went home with an empty dish. They ate'em up. The girls wanted the recipe. I said, "no way". Then I emailed them the link to this video. Gotta share.
Dayg, now I have to cook more for me.

I do not throw away my stems. I slice them thin and cook them separate (in some of the pot liquor) for longer than the leaves. Once done, I add the tender shoots in with the leaves. They add great flavor and much-needed fiber to our diet. Also, love my greens with a soft fried egg on top. That yolk mixes so well with the marvelous greens!

I cook my Greens simular to yours but I started adding Turnip Greens and Mustard Greens to my pot once the Collards are almost finished. I don't enjoy Mustard or Turnip Greens on there own. But mixed with Collards I love them cooked together with some hot Cornbread on the side. I use Lawry Seasoning Salt along with McCormicks Garlic Pepper Seasoning, Black Pepper and I add a Green Bell Pepper. Everything else I pretty much do the same. Guess I'll cook some for Sunday Supper! Enjoyed your video!

Gina I made a large pot of greens for my son asked me to cook him some collard greens I was shocked. I forgot how how to make a large pot, so I turned your video and we made them together and that liquid is delicious my greens are tender the sugar makes everything blend together, usually the salt makes everything blend but the sugar made everything perfect he's going to be very very he and his family are going to be very happy tomorrow when I present him with his large pot of greens thank you Gina.
I also made you honey garlic chicken and that was scrumptious matter fact it was so good I made it twice in one week and I ate it all myself. I thought I was going to share it with my son's family but I couldn't I'm getting just like you Gina !....yum yum yum enjoying my own food again. Thanks to you six thumbs up
