Yellowfin, cut steaks one inch thick, real hot cast iron pan, plenty butter with a dash of olive oil, 1 minute each side, lemon, parsley, soy, rest for 1 minute, serious yummo.
    Go Az, awesome.

How I like my tuna is to roll it in toasted sesame seeds then on high heat with a little oil brown it 1min max per side and just before taking it off drizzle a small amount of soy sauce like 1-2 tea spoons and 4-5 drops of sesame oil then cut and serve

Red Tuna (yellowfin, bluefin etc) is great sashimi but equally good cooked - obviously seared and rare but with a traditional italian tomato, caper, garlic and basil sauce. The Italians have been eating it that way for centuries

With that first tuna you caught, it looked liked you use a gaff to pull it in. Then you let it go. Wouldn't using the gaff put a big hole in its side? And hurt the fish too much to survive?

Not a particularly uncommon occurrence in most parts of Australia during the warmer weather.
We used to camp on the Murray River quite regularly and saw about 5 Eastern browns on a couple of walks over a couple of days.
Had one try and get in the boat when we were fishing one day.
I've seen quite a few on a local bike track near the river and we get a few each year at home.
