I'll take the oil-filled hydro. Because when die and sink to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, I want my watch to keep working like a beast!...until the battery dies.
Seriously, Thank you Russ.A really comprehensive review. For 99% of people a Sinn watch is a once in a lifetime purchase, like an engagement ring for the wife. It is good to have a really in-depth look at watches that so many of your viewers might have to make serious sacrifices to attain.
What a great bunch of tough modern divers! Sinn are such a great brand who are very deserving of their place of affection in the hearts of watch enthusiasts everywhere. Love the discount for UK folks with Fancies and Gaye too. I’ve bought a couple of watches from them and they’ve always been an absolute pleasure to deal with. Awesome show MWC!
I have the GSG9 Hydro, which I purchased a few weeks ago. It has the ETA temperature compensated movement and is super accurate. I really like the lack of refraction on the dial. For 44mm it sits really well on my 17cm wrist. It's an ideal watch for beach holidays, scrambling up cliffs, swimming and generally being an outdoors person.
♥ On my wrist right now is the U50 SDR, and I also have the 104 in my collection. I love Sinn and come from Germany. Not cheap anymore, but still within reason! greetings from Germany
Very lovely watches! ❤ but sadly I have a very disappointing relationship with Sinn, owning 4 over the years: First a 256 Flyback. Extremely rare. It was brand new at the time but had so many issues and Sinn took it back after 2 years and endless tries to fix it. Got a 144 GMT ST afterwards. That ran great. Then got a new 857 UTC LH CARGO. Again loads of issues, had it at Sinn 5 times when I finally sold it due to annoyance. Got a used 403 HYDRO, fresh Sinn revision. Again many issues and sold it - together with my 144 as I was just too frustrated by this brand at this point. Sad story.
I bought my first Sinn a few months ago which is a U50 limited edition "scratch dial" model and am it's my favorite watch this year. It's an incredible strap monster being monochromatic. I plan on buying more Sinn's and it's refreshing to finally have a watch brand live up to actually delivering a "tool watch" while also using the accurate SW300-1 movement. Which currently running at +1 sec a day thanks to Sinn's quality assurance. Thank you THE MAD WATCH COLLECTOR as your original review(s) on the U50 helped me find my way! Amazing kit hands down.
Greetings from Gernany… the Watches of Sinn are all well made. I like the oil filled much, because the dial looks so great. Thanks for the review of these great watches. 😍👍🏻
Thanks so much for the review! One detail that is important to mention-on the U50 Hydro-is that the quartz movement is inferior to the UX. It is not a temperature compensated, high accuracy movement, and for that price…forget it!! Hopefully, Sinn will source a replacement for the UX’s excellent ETA movement, and when they do it will be hard for me to resist!
Great video Russ 👍🏻. Got 2x full Tegiment UX's in all black & all grey & think they're the ultimate tank tool watch 😜 + they're crazy accurate & ready to grab & go.
I have both the U50 (in black) and the T50 (greedy 😆). Both different from the ‘main’ brands but fantastic and highly recommended. For those who know, know. 😁👍
I have the U1, but I see the appeal of the U50. I do like the Hydro best. Besides learning about 3 models of U50s, you taught us a new word Russ. Despands.
Great reviews again! Whole lotta love me U50 (on a NDC original strap), on-wrist constant for over a month. Insatiable maybe, been eyeballing another German diver: Tutima M2 Seven Seas -07, orange dial, kevlar/rubber strap edition. At any rate, more videos please.
I have the regular U50 & love it. I also have the very rare Sinn 1746 Porcelain Frankfurt Adler (what piece of art!) & the 6068B Frankfurt Dual time zone which is a versatile watch indeed.
Amazing review as always! Since I heard about Sinn watches, they have been on my bucket list for a while. Amazing watches with tons of history and a decent price tag. For me, the Sinn 556 is my favorite and hope to get one when the time comes. 😍😍
Still super happy with my Sinn U50. It's been with me on every major trip across the world since I got it. And it looks like new. Even though I banged it pretty hard into an elevator door frame 😅 But not a scratch!
“Don’t tell me you rebought it…” 😆 These are definitely outside my price range, but still enjoyed the reviews. I’m there with you on titanium. I personally like to feel like I’m wearing a watch. Although I like my Casios so maybe I’m just an idiot…😅
I recently sold my U50 Teg and purchased a U1 SE. The U50, while nice, just felt too small on my 7.25" wrist. I also feel that the dial on the U50 was just simply shrunken down from the U1 therefore it feels cramped. While the U1 is bigger, thicker, and heavier, it looks so much better on my wrist and it feels indestructible.
Hello TMWC! I'm considering kicking off my Casio collection with a G-Shock DW5600E-1V and a Duro Pepsi with stainless steel bracelet . Open to suggestions if you think their are better watches, or better variations/colors of these watches, for the money. Thanks and keep up the epic content!
I like that Hydro, but changing the battery isn't going to be cheap or easy. A solar movement should be something that they might consider, to make it practically maintainence-free.
Just a note. I'm relatively sure all of the Sinn dive series have flat crystals, but there are Sinn models (like my 103) that have a slightly domed crystal. All good other than that.
The UX Hydro has been on my list for ages now. The oil-filled look is just so fascinating to me - I’m not the biggest fan of Sinn’s bezel aesthetics but that’s easy to get past.
I have the original U50 and I absolutely can't take my eyes off the dial. I have two straps (red and black) but it looks best with the bracelet. Also, this watch can't be scratched so wearing it while working on a car or in the yard is not a problem.
The deepest water activity I probably would be doing is exploring coral reefs. What is that 100 meters? But man l like the engineering of these Sinns. I was looking at that T50 but in bronze-gold I think there advertising it like that. I didn’t like the “Lego” hands before this video but when you compared the “sword” hands to be more suited for a pilots watch I’m beginning to reconsider. Watch collecting is one hell of an illness.
The original for me, but the oil filled is a very close second. Also love the titanium, but not the higher (even if justified) price. I need a Sinn. Great review(s). 👌 I do need to strongly disagree with your titanium hate 😂 The wife's comments are superlative 😍👍🙏
Russell absolutely great vid, I was aware of Sinn as a brand but never really looked into them until your vid. Visited their site and was very impressed they have great looking pieces accross all styles but the quality and tech in these is impressive indeed, kinda the watch enthusiasts watch, so very German really😊. Value wise they appear ahead of Tudor, Omega etc what are your thoughts on that? Also the Navitimer and Breitling tie up I was not aware of that. Sinn seems a real winner, more money damn you MWC.
Just for info : The U2 has a domed sapphire crystal too. Unfortunately the U50 is too small for me and I don't like the two-tone hands of the U1. Therefore I bought the U2. An incredibe monster of a watch.
I’ve been shopping around for a Sinn for a couple weeks now and somehow you come up with a discount code when normally discount codes are not valid for Sinn watches as there are not many dealers that stock them. Thanks mate
Big fan of the Hydro it's probably the best looking, but i wish theyd kept the high accuracy movement of the UX or found an equivalent. The website lists the OG U50 as 2 grams heavier than the Hydro but youre the second person ive heard say it feels heavier. Makes me wonder if they measured it dry. Wife is right about the titanium, they should have kept the red and black scheme, they sucked the life out of it! Looks far too plain for the asking. Original U50 wins on originally and uniqueness. SDR for me though 👌
I like the idea of the oil filled watches but I do wonder how well they last long term given all parts have oil around them. And any wear no matter how minor then would see the oil gaining a slight abrasive nature to it. But I guess even that makes no difference even long term eg 10 plus years.
I'd like to ask your advice. I have someone who is really important to me, and she has pocket watches that came from her grandfather, but they don't work. Do you know anywhere in England or NI that can fix them? Please help us
Original sinn all the way......im a bit iffy with titanium.i went through 2 titanium crowns when i had the chrono avenger in titaanium...the thread kept stripping away😢
You mention "the original" a few times, but no reference to the U1, U2 or UX models, that these are all based on (with the exception of the titanium model). For those with a larger wrist, those models are likely to be more suitable. Also, no mention of the hypnotic UX/Hydro second hand 'bounce' from the effect of the oil.
It’s a 17 minute show my friend. It was already long enough. Anyone interested in Sinn watches will find out about the U1 etc. im not a sinn Encyclopaedia?!?! I didn’t think the hypnotic bounce was that bouncy enough to mention it .
Their original is still my favorite, I forgot their made from Nazi steel. The 104 St Sa will be my first Sinn purchase but maybe my Doxa will let me have another diver. Sorry that the wife doesn't like it, hopefully you can re-buy it. Thanks!
As unpopular opinions go, I may have a few here: Sinn is not my kind of watch, I feel as though the high street pastiche watch shops have been trying too hard… regarding titanium watches, yes, I agree they are lighter, I have a Seiko kinetic, Grand Seiko springer and an Omega chrono and they are all substantial and well balanced but definitely lighter than their cast iron cousins, not as substantial as (for example) the ones with pointy crowns, but compared to a Mudmaster (super-insubstantial and weighty light) or even my Iron-man or M5610 (again: supery lightey weighty), titty-tanium has its place and works well if used correctly… not all watches are equal, some are more equal than others…
I'll take the oil-filled hydro. Because when die and sink to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, I want my watch to keep working like a beast!...until the battery dies.
Hahahahahahaha
incredible watches. Sinn is one of my favorite watch brands. They epitomize the term , over - engineer.
Then they see how much the battery costs to replace and toss it 😂
You need the watch to stop, so that it can roughly tell people when you die
Don't forget you will continue to read it until out of lume. Crazy underwater vis.
With these watches I would feel completely safe washing up in the water basin. Well done Sinn.

Awesome show MWC!
Thanks Gareth!!
LOVE Sinn. ❤ Proud owner of U50 Pro.
I own the U50. Amazing bit of kit. Not cheap, but worth every penny.
I’d love to have that watch

Just got my Sinn EZM 3F... another fantastic watch. I'm a big fan of this brand
U 50 Hydro is my pick of the lot - what a beauty 👍 - my second pick would be T 50.
♥ On my wrist right now is the U50 SDR, and I also have the 104 in my collection. I love Sinn and come from Germany. Not cheap anymore, but still within reason!

Three deadly Sinns! Their watches are so good looking. The U50 is my favorite.
Thanks so much for the review!

Looking at The Hydro didn’t make me feel dizzy. The prices did !
Had hoped to get the Quartz for 1,500 quid max - love the design! But for my budget a CWC is the choice. Thanks Russ and big cheers! 🧡
Great video Russ 👍🏻. Got 2x full Tegiment UX's in all black & all grey & think they're the ultimate tank tool watch 😜 + they're crazy accurate & ready to grab & go.
I absolutely love my Sinn U50-T DS! Best dive watch I have purchased in the last year!
I haven’t had a need or desire to buy another diver after receiving my U50
Think that says it all my friend!
Since I got my 556 I B I lost interest in other watches too 😂
Same here! 😂 It never let me down ever since. It can stand basically everything and won't even scratch 😅
That t50.is.something special...certainly a brand on my radar now...well done Sinn and well done mwc on another great show 😊
I have a 556 A RS and love it. If I had to have one of these - probably the titanium. Looks mean.
Got a Sinn UX which is awesome. Sinn are fabulous secondhand buys as they are sooo tough.
Fantastic my friend!!
I bought a used 656 and fell in love with it. They’re the GOAT.
Definitely on my must buy list - when my ship comes in. Thanks for the work you do.
I have both the U50 (in black) and the T50 (greedy 😆). Both different from the ‘main’ brands but fantastic and highly recommended. For those who know, know. 😁👍

I have a U200 with a domed crystal. It too has the copper sulfate capsule that changes color if there is humidity in the case. The gas is Argon.
Still super happy with my Sinn U50. It's been with me on every major trip across the world since I got it. And it looks like new. Even though I banged it pretty hard into an elevator door frame 😅 But not a scratch!

My U50 DS is my daily watch. Bulletproof, thin, under the radar but watch nerds love to see it. Only wish would be a longer power reserve.
You really need to try the retro style citizen ny00120. There’s a black, blue, yellow, orange and green. Textured dial and slightly domed crystal.
Hello TMWC! I'm considering kicking off my Casio collection with a G-Shock DW5600E-1V and a Duro Pepsi with stainless steel bracelet . Open to suggestions if you think their are better watches, or better variations/colors of these watches, for the money. Thanks and keep up the epic content!

Really like the hydro quartz . Be interesting to hear if the battery change is still the same with the dial being oil filled .
Agree with the wife, rebuy the U50, go head to head with the new SLA and keep both🔥👍🎾
I have the original U50 and I absolutely can't take my eyes off the dial. I have two straps (red and black) but it looks best with the bracelet. Also, this watch can't be scratched so wearing it while working on a car or in the yard is not a problem.
I will also go with the original because I like some colour on the dial and of course, love the Lego hands 😂
The hydro is such an insane thing. I love the sword hands instead of the other design.
Aweome get together of 3 great midsized Sinn divers! Well done 👏
I'd probably go U50 tbh..I still struggle with expensive Quartz watches...
More Sinn! Love my 104 and have wanted a UX for years.
Antonym of expand is contract but, as ever, thank you for the review.

Biff ,I love how dark the face is on the hydra.
"Lego" handset??
It's more like the "Tetris" handset.
Or the "Up Yours" signal!
That T50 is something special. The monochrome color scheme actually stands out in this bunch
I'll get a U50 one day, but for now my Helm 'Vanuatu" ( with silver bezel) will have to do.....
The original for me, but the oil filled is a very close second. Also love the titanium, but not the higher (even if justified) price. I need a Sinn. Great review(s). 👌

Great Sinn knowledge my friend!
Great Watches!
Great Company!
Great Review! 👍
That U50 is awesome. I wish the Ti version had the same styling as the original. Also kudos to your "the wife" for "LEGO" watch. Ha!
Oil filled watches are really cool.
the Hydro is the best of the lot for me
Looking at the U50, it seems clear where Jody got inspiration for the Erebus Origin watch.
Hahahahah well I think he made a Helm Vanuatu 2.0 but Helm might have looked at Sinn!
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR Fair shout. Even the Erebus logo looks similar.

Great deal that nearly £350 off the U50 Hydro
Any affiliate links?

Maybe as well as a battery change it gets an oil change too.
You should talk about phoibos from Hong Kong!!
Fully tegimented U50 on bracelet would be one of my grails personally.
I own two Sinn watches that I bought a few years ago and I can’t believe how expensive they are now.
I bought the 104 in 2019 for 900?? It’s 1400 now!
“Oh, great!!”
“Don’t tell me you re-bought it!”
“Hate it!!”
“Get it away!!”
…. All classic lines!!! 😂
U 50 Hydro looks like a winner by a narrow margin.
What about a Damasko video please Russell.
A Sinn U50 to go with your Zero West DB-2 Lancaster. War in the watch box.
I'd like to ask your advice. I have someone who is really important to me, and she has pocket watches that came from her grandfather, but they don't work. Do you know anywhere in England or NI that can fix them? Please help us
Any advise?
Hydro has my pick but barely. The U50 looks cool with the lego hands, if only they could put lego hands on the hydro!
Easy for me - always loved the Lego original and I don't like the hands (sub flieger hands?) on the upstarts
Titanium scratches like the Sugar Hill Gang. Tis light tho.

6 minutes 30s in, and I think Sinn need to calm down 😂 they're really going for it. I want the oily one
Hahahahahahah
T-50 for me !!👌🏼
U50 HYDRO Tegimented.....5000m water resistance..whats not to love and fall asleep dreaming about?
With the Hydro's all the other dive watches on the market get a participation trophy!
I wish I could. Been a proper Sinn fanboy for two decades at least. Unfortunately they offer nothing in 34, 35 or even 36mm 😔
I'm picturing the quite Dude in the Corner, Listening to the Suite MOUTH OFF about His rolex diver...! SMUG R WHAT
Their original is still my favorite, I forgot their made from Nazi steel. The 104 St Sa will be my first Sinn purchase but maybe my Doxa will let me have another diver. Sorry that the wife doesn't like it, hopefully you can re-buy it. Thanks!
Way out of my pay grade. They look like the second hands are about as smooth as the grand seiko spring drives. Pretty sweet setups!
Love the channel, keep up the good work mate.
Very nice, theyre a bit too pricey for me though
Hey, at the end of the video... I see you wearing an ana-digi watch... which one is it?
Momentum UDT
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR Oh wow, what a beauty! Can't wait to see your review of it. :)
Hydro fore, that is amazing!!! Let me...err...tell the wife 😂
Sinn are getting too expensive, but still within sane pricing. Citizen is killing it right now.
So the case back expands and despands ....what?maybe you meant contracts? Anyway lovely watches.
He's from London, thus linguistically handicapped.
Are they capable of surviving depth charges ??
Man I love Sinns designs, but I hate Selitta movements.
You must get the wife on here , to review her fave watches it would be so cool .
0:06 Oh mate missed opportunity “ Let’s get SINN to it” had to be an option 😂 0:06
Typical Sinn, over engineered great looking functional watches! Love them!! 🎉🎉🎉
