What are the real minimal nits of the monitor? There is 24G4 and 24G4X and here on the channel minimal nits are 44 when on TotallyDubbedHD he says it 93(with HDR 78). The hell happened here AOC is using different panels for europe/other countries or what?
My good old BenQ XL2411Z which is a 24" 1080p 144Hz TN monitor costed me around 250€ in 2015 and it can only be plugged with a DVI-D cable or else it will run at 60Hz with HDMI. It's really great to see how cheap 1080p monitors that run at 144Hz or higher have become especially since now they are using IPS or VA panels instead of TN panels.
I consider 180Hz a huge improvement over 165Hz, simply because when divided by 60 it produces integer result (3). This is important, because most video content (YT videos for example) is in 60 or 30Hz. On 165Hz or 144Hz monitors, if you don't specifically switch to 120 or 60Hz, you'll get uneven framepacing on videos and movies (resulting in some amount of jerkiness, which some people don't usually notice probably, but sadly I'm the one that does and hates it wholehearedly). With a 180Hz monitor you can forever forget about the annoyance of having to switch between refresh rates depending on what you're doing. Of course, 240Hz would be even better, because when divided by 24 it produces integer result - and most movies are in 24Hz. So you still have to switch to 120Hz to watch movies.
@@whatistruth_1 Does YT even support VRR for video playback? When I looked into it a couple of years ago, I couldn't find any evidence of such possibility, and neither of my VRR monitors do VRR with YT videos. Although VRR does indeed seem like an ideal solution, if it was implemented.
AOC 24G2 is still going strong. I hope you can review some of the 24" 1080p 100Hz monitors that started to appear recently, they seem like great option for gamers on very tight budget.
100hz is still not the smoothest refresh rate for gaming compared to standard 75hz, but still good enough to see a lot of smooth animations and movements on your daily tasks. Something like the new viewsonic va2432 (both black and white body), good response time and while it only covers sRGB color space it still gives a good color accuracy of ~6 on dE ITP or ~2 on dE 2000 But make sure you didn't pay above $100.
I got the 24G2 because of your review which I still use to this day. No regrets with the purchase. These days, I'm looking for an ultra-wide for better productivity.
AOC have been killing it in the monitor space for budget monitors. I had a 24G2 back when I didn't have enough money to get anything higher end, its sadly now dead but it got a ton of use and I recommended it to my friends who were all on budgets as well. Gave my brother a 165hz IPS AOC one as well ( can't remember the name exactly but it was great ) for like £180, and recently got my brother the AOC q27g3xmn for good budget HDR and I have been impressed with how good it is despite the low Zone count. For sure it helped, but it's still noticable. The pure 50,50,50 looks terribly redish. AOC overall having that purple and pinkish trait, but comapring both AOC 24G4X and G2SPU, on 24G4X the pinkish/redish trait looks a lot more noticable and it feels like it a bit bleeding with it. That pinkish/redish trait is on especially gray and blue things, but not only. AOC 24G2SPU has noticibly better colors and doesn't have that weird pink trait on gray or other type of colors. It's just on 24G2SPU the whole panel seems like having more into purple colors than deep blue. I really don't understand what AOC did there or why this panel is like that. I wish it looked like G2SPU or close to it with response time of 24G4. Bro this is the hell of budget monitors. There is always something that will make you uncomfortable with it and u need to accept that issue. I would love to see them buying 24G4X one and test it again. Maybe 24G4 has different panel or adjusted differently in sneaky way?
My 24G2SP started acting up after using it for just a year. I sent it to their service center for a warranty claim and they replaced it with this brand-new 24G4. AOC earnestly has one of the best warranty services out there!🙌
Would love to get a HU review of the Q24G2AE/BK 24inch 1440p 165hz or the Koorui GP01 which I think uses the same panel. They seem like a good way to get a taste of higher PPI+higher refresh gaming at an entry level price.
I find it hilarious that its harder to find a good 1080p monitor opposed to how easy it is to find a good 4k monitor. In my case 1080p is a choice, it gives a lot more life to my gpu since 1080p will be easier to carry into the future.
Same bro, actually 1440p monitors, there is tons of good ones and if u have money, u can just buy OLED 1440p one and don't give a fuck about anything. Some shops even give you option to get a guy who will calibarate it properly for you for extra 50$ or something. When u buy monitor like that then it's not that much. 1080p struggle of not having better manufactured options. I would even pay 250$+ for really good 1080p without exchanging one of 3 most important things like colors, contrast or response time as exchange.
How about the 1440p, 165Hz IPS 24" monitor AOC produced? AOC Q24G2A/BK. I bought it and it costs only about $200 in US. Little over 200 euros in Europe
Watching with my 24G4 monitor that just arrived today. This is a brand new one, but I didn't buy it. It was a replacement for my 2yr old 24G2SP, which had some LCD issues. This is why I love AOC because of their 3yr warranty. Imagine using it for 2 years and now getting an upgrade from 165Hz to 180Hz with better specs.
Guys I have this monitor now for 1 month, after 13 years I finally changed my 60hz one with this one. I was playing with 240hz monitor in internet cafe and this monitor can easily compete with it with 180hz medium/strong mode. 11/10 for this monitor and price rank!
It's hard deciding between a cheaper G2 vs newer more expensive G4. There should be a video on this as apparently the older model has better colors, viewing angles and brightness. I'm inclined to the G4 but only because it no longer has red accents that scream out !!GAMING MONITOR!! Besides the more professional look, the higher refresh rate is also a plus if you have the graphics card for it.
If this monitor has low framerate compensation (LFR), then you could try moving the bottom part of the VSync range using CRU from 48 Hz or whatever is the default to 89 or 90. So, if you have a game that you play below or around 90 FPS, you can leave the Overdrive mode at Medium, since panel will be running at over 120 Hz when your FPS is at 60. Make sure you monitor doesn't flicker when transitioning from above or below 90. If so, then you could limit the in-game FPS at ~88 to prevent monitor from switching to 90 Hz instead of staying 170+.
As far as I can tell this is the 1080p bang for buck especially with adjustable height stand (X version) in my country right now, well except for used monitors I guess, I don't have a VRR, higher then 60fps or wide gamut monitor so sounds good.
I tried a 32 inch AOC 1440p 165 hz monitor about 4 months ago. Maybe I had a defective unit but, the screen looked really bad and since nothing I did changed it , I returned it.
AOC seems to have a very nice 27 inch 1440P screen on the way, claming 100% DCI-P3 coverage. the only thing is it doesn't seem to have height adjustable stand.
7:13 > This is a difficult decision. The MBR looks better than native _(to me),_ but obviously that latent image messes it up. I wonder how it looks in motion. I feel like it would look _'clearer'_ just a guess though. I almost want to pick this up for my youngest and see how it looks. I might just do that if I can find it for $150. The key is, you'd have to lock it in to 180 FPS for it to look that clear on the UFO test though.
Great... In continues with AOC... Next is the AOC Q27G4XM the cousing of the Q27G3XMN without MiniLed but "in theory" also without the red tint. 1440P 180Hz For only 199 USD
There is an Acer Nitro KG251Q that’s 1080p 250 Hz with a retail price of $200 but frequently goes on sale for $150. Would be curious to see how it stacks up in this space.
I just can't choose between 24" 1080p for the great value, or a 27" 1440p to get a visual upgrade, or a 2560X1080p to take advantage of my main FFXIV gaming time... I guess everything would be an upgrade from a 75hz 1080p VA
please review acer vg272k v3... IPS , 160HZ , 4K 3840X2160P....the price is around 280USD in south east asian....same panel as xv272k v3...but the X series came with moveable stand
can you also test cheaper acer monitors? like the 100hz VA ones to see how bad they are exactly. they are often less than a 100 dollars so going up to 150 dollars for people in 3rd world countries can be a pretty big deal.
Try to look for asrock cl25ff. It's 100hz ips, so ghosting should be non issue. It often goes below 100 euros, very tempting price. One problem is the lack of displayport, so no g sync for Nvidia users.
Maybe you should try to get a affiliate link for B and H, the ONLY US retailer who has had this product since launch (i think), my cat damaged one of my C24G1 displays this week... and i like matching displays, i swapped my panels around to make it the secondary one, it only damaged a small area in the corner, but as of today i lost one horizontal row and 2 vertical columns (and it looks like i am about to loose 2 more columns) i rather replace a monitor than go to the vet...
hello, sorry if i'm late but i use the 24E3 and it's great for its price aside from the blue and magenta color inaccuracy (most likely deliberate sabotage by HKC to not lose customers as a supplier) but if you don't do productivity/gfx related stuffs it's still a no brainer pick imo
Hello, please could you do a review on the LG 27GR75Q? This monitor is everywhere with massive discounts but noones buying it because there’s no information about it!
Could you please review HKC MG24Q? 👀🙏 or maybe Koorui GP01? I heard that both are actually the same monitor, but not sure about the factory setting remain the same. Both are 24" 1440p display!!
still I dint understand if input lag is great or ok Input lag is great with 0.8ms of processing delay and due to a higher refresh rate there's also a bit less refresh lag than 144Hz monitors.
Thank your for this guide. I am looking for an 1440p (WQHD), 27 " monitor with g sync and maybe 165 hz. Playing mostly games like Rainbow Six Siege, Hogwarts Legacy and so. I am able to spend around 250 to 350 euros (Germany). Is there a big difference between LG 27GP850-B and the asus tuf gaming vg27aq1a in the panel? Like contrast, colour, less ghosting. I think the lg27gp850-b has less contrast?
Its a nice product for sure. But I feel like these days unless you are a competitive fps player that needs to pinch every penny at the same time, you should just get a cheap (even used) 1440p monitor. The resolution upgrade just makes so much difference.
1440p is nice but you need powerful pc to run at higher frame rates at those resolution depends on people budget still for competitive 1080p is the way to go

AOC earnestly has one of the best warranty services out there!🙌
How u feel with AOC 24G4?
Beautiful looking monitor. I went for the Benq EX2510 because its a premium monitor.... but this one looks very nice and the price is perfect
Can you tell me the calibration data that you have done to improve color accuracy? Thanks in advanced
Lol I bought the 24G2 at random 4 years ago and it's apparently one of the best budget ones.
How about the 1440p, 165Hz IPS 24" monitor AOC produced? AOC Q24G2A/BK. I bought it and it costs only about $200 in US. Little over 200 euros in Europe
I watch every monitor review, just because they're the best :)
Any chance we get AOC Q27G4X review? It's really cheap, even in my country. Would like to see how it compares to LG 27GP850.
Watching with my 24G4 monitor that just arrived today. This is a brand new one, but I didn't buy it. It was a replacement for my 2yr old 24G2SP, which had some LCD issues. This is why I love AOC because of their 3yr warranty. Imagine using it for 2 years and now getting an upgrade from 165Hz to 180Hz with better specs.
thank you for this amazing review Tim 🙂
Guys I have this monitor now for 1 month, after 13 years I finally changed my 60hz one with this one. I was playing with 240hz monitor in internet cafe and this monitor can easily compete with it with 180hz medium/strong mode. 11/10 for this monitor and price rank!
@@djsumke PC or console?
It's hard deciding between a cheaper G2 vs newer more expensive G4. There should be a video on this as apparently the older model has better colors, viewing angles and brightness. I'm inclined to the G4 but only because it no longer has red accents that scream out !!GAMING MONITOR!!
Besides the more professional look, the higher refresh rate is also a plus if you have the graphics card for it.
I have 2 AOC 24G2 right and left to my 34 Ultrawide and I use them for my Xbox/Switch really great value and I prefer 24 inches for gaming
Could you make a tutorial on how to calibrate different settings on monitors.
Apparently 24G4X/27G4X have MBR Sync unlike 24G4/27G4. Nice to see this feature on budget monitors. The X models have a redesigned OSD.
Isn't X just having better stand and different OSD? So X and normal version having same panel or not?
@@Berkelll Apparently not. I think its same panel.
Maybe I had a defective unit but, the screen looked really bad and since nothing I did changed it , I returned it.
the monitor is really good thanks for the video, gigabyte 24gf2 different offering but still good both are great choices
You should review one of the Koorui monitors. Good budget monitors they have.
What are your thoughts on the Q27G4, basically the 1440p version of this monitor, or the higher resolution panel could have some improvements?
have u got it ???
AOC seems to have a very nice 27 inch 1440P screen on the way, claming 100% DCI-P3 coverage. the only thing is it doesn't seem to have height adjustable stand.
Do you know what the model number is?
7:13 > This is a difficult decision. The MBR looks better than native _(to me),_ but obviously that latent image messes it up. I wonder how it looks in motion. I feel like it would look _'clearer'_ just a guess though.
I almost want to pick this up for my youngest and see how it looks. I might just do that if I can find it for $150. The key is, you'd have to lock it in to 180 FPS for it to look that clear on the UFO test though.
Is that better than viewsonic vx2428J ??
@@ShOookYx I'm not sure. Can't judge it by specs, gotta have a reviewer. No one really reviews Viewsonic that I come across. Maybe RTINGS?
Great... In continues with AOC... Next is the AOC Q27G4XM the cousing of the Q27G3XMN without MiniLed but "in theory" also without the red tint. 1440P 180Hz For only 199 USD
I think i would prefer the 24G2Sp for the extra brightness and better contrast for like a few % lower Rec 2020 coverage imo.
24g4x has better contrast. Or was reading wrong?
There is an Acer Nitro KG251Q that’s 1080p 250 Hz with a retail price of $200 but frequently goes on sale for $150. Would be curious to see how it stacks up in this space.
2725df review coming?
Would love your input.
thank you for the review!
I just can't choose between 24" 1080p for the great value, or a 27" 1440p to get a visual upgrade, or a 2560X1080p to take advantage of my main FFXIV gaming time... I guess everything would be an upgrade from a 75hz 1080p VA
27 inch 1440p ips imo
i got a lenovo g27 30 for $150, very happy with it
i can afford the latest and greatest. but this is such great value its predecessor is the one i actually bought.
I would love if u guys will test iiyama G-Master G2470HSU to compare over those budget monitors.
What do y think about AOC Q27G4X
I got a Msi 1440 p 165 hz ips from a costo sale for 220-50 (170$) from a holiday sale 2 months ago.
This is far, far out of my interest range on the market. But thumbs up for doing this. There are a lot of people gaming on budget everywhere.
Can you please review the Asus VG249Q3A? Specs seem to be similar to this monitor apart from the adjustable stand
please review acer vg272k v3... IPS , 160HZ , 4K 3840X2160P....the price is around 280USD in south east asian....same panel as xv272k v3...but the X series came with moveable stand
Anyone else not able to find this on Amazon or NewEgg???
apparently, the monitor has only released in Oceania, not yet in the US
@@jfelipemolina7 😥😥Do we know when the US release is or have they not said anything yet.
can you also test cheaper acer monitors? like the 100hz VA ones to see how bad they are exactly. they are often less than a 100 dollars so going up to 150 dollars for people in 3rd world countries can be a pretty big deal.
Try to look for asrock cl25ff. It's 100hz ips, so ghosting should be non issue. It often goes below 100 euros, very tempting price. One problem is the lack of displayport, so no g sync for Nvidia users.
Steve my guy is it possible for you to to start adding in portable monitors for those of us who travel a lot
Got a 24g2 and it has been going strong for 2 years until i recently got a green line going horizontaly across the screen.
Maybe you should try to get a affiliate link for B and H, the ONLY US retailer who has had this product since launch (i think), my cat damaged one of my C24G1 displays this week... and i like matching displays, i swapped my panels around to make it the secondary one, it only damaged a small area in the corner, but as of today i lost one horizontal row and 2 vertical columns (and it looks like i am about to loose 2 more columns)
i rather replace a monitor than go to the vet...
4k 32 OLED please Tim 👍
Can you review the Koori 24" 165hz fast ips? Other reviewers say it's the best budget 1080p monitor on the market
hello, sorry if i'm late but i use the 24E3 and it's great for its price aside from the blue and magenta color inaccuracy (most likely deliberate sabotage by HKC to not lose customers as a supplier) but if you don't do productivity/gfx related stuffs it's still a no brainer pick imo
but is it better than benq's ex240? like Why are there no reviews on the benqs' best budget monitor.
seems hard to find tbh
Hello, please could you do a review on the LG 27GR75Q? This monitor is everywhere with massive discounts but noones buying it because there’s no information about it!
I'm using G-Menu since 2019 on my AOC 24G2U/BK. Please start telling people about the monitors control software.
G-Menu! G-Menu! G-Menu!
Review the MSI MAG274QRF QD E2 (coming out in 2 days) please.. I'll likely buy one.
Can you include a section on eye strain? In search of a 4K gaming monitor that wont hurt my eyes.
Bro, you really think he got time to read your comment. He is no small RUclipsr to take requests from a viewer.
what about the Q27G4N VA panel?
Is the monitor already available because I can't find it online
apparently, the monitor has only released in Oceania, not yet in the US
No vesa mount?
Any plans to do a review of the MAG 274QRF QD E2? Just got one!
How's Pixio PX248 PRO?
Is this monitor still good? Considering buying it for 2nd monitor as i found it for 100usd new
Bump.
yep Its great hdr's impressive too
@@cosmicheretic8129 .
Can you review the CU34G2XP next please, AOC's new ultrawide refresh 180hz.
is it a bad monitor for 120hz gaming? are there better ones for 24 inch ? in terms of response time
Please review the new Viewsonic VX2428J. It really looks interesting. The biggest minus is not having wide gamut tho, but i wonder h
ow it is.
Could you please review HKC MG24Q? 👀🙏
or maybe Koorui GP01? I heard that both are actually the same monitor, but not sure about the factory setting remain the same.
Both are 24" 1440p display!!
Please review MSI g244f e2 monitor
hi can please do a review for aoc u27g3x thanks 🙏
still I dint understand if input lag is great or ok
Input lag is great with 0.8ms of processing delay and due to a higher refresh rate there's also a bit less refresh lag than 144Hz monitors.
I have a 24G2W. It's ok. Nothing to write home about. I hate the OSD.
where is the 2k version of this which is it???
still no mention what panel it uses and if is a native 180hz
can you make a list of glossy panel monitors?
Maybe I'll grab this since I'm still gaming on a 15 year old 60Hz monitor :P
Thank your for this guide. I am looking for an 1440p (WQHD), 27 " monitor with g sync and maybe 165 hz. Playing mostly games like Rainbow Six Siege, Hogwarts Legacy and so. There are several options like Dell g2724D, LG ultra gear 27GP850-B, asus tuf gaming VG27aq1a and aoc 27g4x. Any suggestions? There a lot of guides out there. So its not easy :D Thank you.
I am able to spend around 250 to 350 euros (Germany). Is there a big difference between LG 27GP850-B and the asus tuf gaming vg27aq1a in the panel? Like contrast, colour, less ghosting. I think the lg27gp850-b has less contrast?
What about the Q24G2??????
Its a nice product for sure. But I feel like these days unless you are a competitive fps player that needs to pinch every penny at the same time, you should just get a cheap (even used) 1440p monitor. The resolution upgrade just makes so much difference.
1440p monitor are way above their msrp in most countries unfortunately, that's why most people stick to 1080p
Above their us MSRP? Sure so are the 1080p ones. But for example in most of Europe you can get 1440p 144hz+ at good prices.
1440p is nice but you need powerful pc to run at higher frame rates at those resolution depends on people budget still for competitive 1080p is the way to go
Should I choose this over the XG2431? I have the 24G2 and currently want to upgrade; would 180Hz enough for FPS gaming?
