Love these videos and your MU channel in general.
Just a suggestion, but it's REALLY hard to follow which monitor you're talking about considering the insane model numbers.
It would be super helpful to have them either on the screen the entire time you're talking about that specific model, or time-stamped in the timeline.
As the list on the bottom doesn't correspond with the order in which you speak about them, I've actually found these guides super hard to follow as a result.
Or, rather, just hard to keep track of what monitor[s] you're talking about as you move through them, especially if I'm multi-tasking [which, let's be honest, I always am].
    Anyway, big

When I bought G2724D (it was more expensive where I live, $320), it came with 5 dead pixels and the brightness was nowhere near 400 nits. Turns out Dell uses 3 different panels, I got one of the worse ones. Opening the factory menu, I found out the panel brightness limited was to 70% what it can output and increasing it caused the panel run hotter, so I just returned without trying to get a replacement.

    • @johnathanmcdoe
      @johnathanmcdoe 2 месяца назад +47

The G2724D recommendation really needs to come with a clear warning that you're gambling on getting the right panel, I've seen this happen to quite a few people already. Sure, it can be returned, but it's still annoying.

OLED monitors use one method of achieving "High Dynamic Range". Monitors like that AOC one use a different method.

Thanks for the update! These videos are always extremely helpful. Ive always wondered why more brightness is seen as such a great thing when having too much brightness can be bad for your eyes long term which is something you dont speak about. I tend to have my monitors at below 50% brightness, and sometimes even as low as 10% as otherwise my eyes hurt.

Thank you for writing the monitor's name every time you speak about them. It's tough to orient in their names when eng is your second language.

Hey, it would be great if you could review the Xiaomi G Pro 27i, it seems to be a solid rival for the AOC G27G3XMN.

@@grimlock8369 I think maybe 29 inch is still ok but anymore than that and the image starts to get blurry like 1080p

@vivekgarge5576 I'm running a curved 32" 1440p va panel @144hz. Detail is fine especially in well lit scenarios, the only thing that bugs me about it is the offensive black levels and light bleed.

Why do you always review the same brands??? Try and Review some unknown, unpopular brands like Xiaomi, KTC, REDMAGIC, etc..

I've thoroughly enjoyed the Gigabyte GS27QX based on your suggestion for about 8 months. I got it for $299 at the time, and it's $249 now!

My Samsung G7 just black screened and its just out of warranty, was looking at the AOC G27G3XMN or the Asus ROG Strix XG27ACS as a cheaper replacement for now, wondering if I will notice much of a difference. Monitor unboxed doing a blinding job as always! 👍

I just got a MSI MAG 321UP and I love it, it was an upgrade to my LG 32GN600-B. 165Hz is more than enough for my gaming needs, and 4K is a much appreciated bump over 1440p.

Please review the MSI MAG 271QPX QD-OLED E2. It recently hit $530 on sale, which is near the upper range the average gamer will spend on a monitor. It appears to be the best deal in OLED when at it's sale price of $530.

Swapped my HP X27q 27 inch IPS 165hz 1440p to a Xiaomi Mini LED G Pro 27i 180hz 1440p 1000 nits HDR for $320 in my country. The local dimming is a massive upgrade 😂 The IPS bleed on my old HP is annoying sometimes. I have a short vid of their side by side on my account here. Hope you give that xiaomi a look if it is available there in Australia.
