The bass player is sick of hanging out with his friends because they always bring their instruments and keep breaking out in to jam sessions everywhere they go and whenever they hang they make him carry around that massive instrument just in case they need some backup and he just wants to go out to the pub

It's a Bristol to London train. It's not London public transport, it's a high speed national rail service, between 2 major cities 118 miles apart by train.

Were I on that train, being from Tennessee, I'd probably think I'd entered the twilight zone. Of course as a graduate of the University of Tennessee, the best rendition of Rocky Top I've ever heard was in the Village on a student trip to NYC. Neighborhood bar with about 9 regulars, the bartender, the piano guy played for Nipsey Russell when he was in town, and 3 UT students. When the locals asked where we were from they broke out a full rendition of Rocky Top and continued to entertain us thruout the evening.

hell yeah, tho maybe it makes more sense to be below it, you need to fufill the need of banjo before you can figure out yourself, but i guess it works just as well needing to actualise yourself to acheive the highest level of appreciating banjo

Man, if I could play the banjo that well I'd be playing it everywhere, on the , bus, on the train, doctors waiting room, funerals the lot....lol.
So pick one up and practice. The great thing about the banjo is a few simple finger rolls easily impress...lol.
The banjo’s actually an easy instrument to learn. It’s harder to get good at. So go for it! Takes about 3-4 months to get pretty decent

A great version of duelling banjos & brilliant playing by the banjo player & all concerned playing an instrument on this specific RUclips on this specific train journey 7 years ago according to you tube at the time ( March 2023) & duelling banjos is one of my favourite banjo & or accompanied by a mandolin or a guitar tunes of all time!

It's not that hard since it's tuned in open G and they tend to play with a lot of open strings and hammer ons and offs to make it sound harder than it actually is. I probably butchered the explanation but once you get one, you would understand it's pretty easy to pick up. Not to say there's not a lot of skill, there are some really amazing pickers out there.
