I would love to see college drumline competition prior to the Superbowl. Pick 8-12 teams to compete in the weeks leading up to the Superbowl. Eliminate two each week similar to American Idol. Let the people decide. Then the final two would compete during halftime and the drumline winner would win scholarship money for the school with a portion guaranteed for the college band.

I could watch these drum lines all day long!! I drove a school bus in Pennsylvania for Pennsbury School district and our Marching band was Long Orange Line and I had the absolute privilege of driving these phenomenal talented kids to all the competitions and football games and I had such a blast all the time!!❤❤
Drumlines have to be my favorite thing on earth!! The skill, precision and dedication to being this good ... commend all these young men!!! Its honestly thrilling music!!

I'll stick to the Super bowl halftime shows we've been getting for the last 3 or 4 years. I love drumlines 🥁 but only at college games. 😉 HBCUs are my favorites. Back to the OP subject, Super bowls made viewers suffer for years just because Janet Jackson's tata popped out.for years after that happened we had to suffer through H.T. shows with a bunch of Super old Rockstars from 60 years ago and mediocre young boring singers with no talent nor stage presence.

I'm from a smaller town on the outskirts of Baton Rouge, so we did everything with the larger schools on Baton Rouge. My family knows EVERYONE and EVERYONE knows my family. My dad was a paramedic and mom was a cop. We don't even have the same last names and I got pulled over in high school in Baton Rouge for an illegal U-Turn. I was 18 (so legally they should have) but the cop looked at me and said, "I don't even have to ask who your parents are, I'll call them both before we leave here." So, yes, I'd give anything to go back and do it one more time (all of it) 🤣😂🤣😂

@@lumensnn Actually it's not unusual for people to start with their right hand while drumming. If the music didn't have specific hands written in for each hit I would also start with my right hand.

My last year marching we started with tri-toms, finally got the quads that had been backordered for a month, and after relearning the entire show - SURPRISE! We received the quints that were ordered for us, that we didn't know about, two weeks before competition. Still got unanimous ones for the show. Kind of like growing an extra arm and leg before a gymnastics competition.
