Nice video but if I may make a suggestion. When showing items of a dark color, it would be a good idea to wear light colored clothing and put down a light colored table cloth. It would really make whatever you are presenting pop. Just something I learned when watching QVC back in the day. Cool radio btw
I just pick one up on the weekend for my TRX 4 and Vanquish vrs 10 And I’ll get a few extra receiver for my bashers later on Great review Hope to see lots videos in 2019 and happy new year
Can’t make up my mind. I have about 20 vehicles, ,4 crawlers, 3 SC trucks, a few Monster trucks and a the rest are scalers and drifters. My DX3 still works flawlessly but I dread the day I have to swap out 20 DSM, DSM2 and DSMX receivers as the old spektrum SR3100s are getting hard to find. The rugged looks cool but I’ve never dropped a radio and I don’t plan on it anytime soon. I just don’t want a new radio with issues or battery problems. The scroll wheels do get a little figgidy but that backlight and avc would be nice for one of my avc 2wd losi trucks
Thid does have a lot of great options, im not sure if the rugged has this many features, I guess it depends on what type of RCing u do to decide on which is better for u, as always great review Greg
Great video.. love your channel. I was hoping you could help me.. I'm new to the rc world and know very little(nothing). I recently purchased a losi xl-e 2.0 and I love it!! I want to upgrade to a new radio.. I'm looking at the Spektrum dx 5 pro ..but I noticed the dx6r but I haven't seen any good review videos on it. Have you tried the dx6r ..if so would you recommend it? Or should I just get the dx5pro? Now I did purchased a sanwa mx6 (haven't used it yet) and a flysky noble nb4(haven't used it yet) reason why I haven't used those two yet is because I feel I should stick with the same Spektrum product as my buggy. Hope you don't mind the questions.
Hi. Any chance you could record a video with the the different Transmitters Telemetry capabilities? I'm in the market for a new transmitter and want to get Telemetry included. There doesn't seem to be any dedicated reviews out there just on the telemetry for Spektrum or Futaba. Thanks and keep up the great vid's!
Man it’s so big! I really want to try AVS so I’ve been considering the DX5 Rugged but it’s a bummer to see how large they are. After seeing this I’ll probably replace my firmware hacked FS-GT3c with a FS-GT5 and try Flysky’s built-in traction and stability control for now. At least I won’t have to change all my receivers. So thanks for the video dude. Just saved me like $500.
Hi can you help provide any information on the telemetry display setup?!? Can’t seem to get the live information to display on the main screen about my motor temperature with the sensor connected, using the SR6000 rx.. thanks love the channel 👍🏻
Hey i have a few questions. For a lipo battery what does the s in 2s or 3s mean, what does the c in 20c or 30c mean and whats the main difference between lipo and nimh batteries. I hope you can answer me
I'm no pro, but the higher c rating on the battery wrapping means the discharge, or amount of juice the battery is putting out. The "s" in 2s, 3s, etc, means the amount of cells. 2s means 2 cells. 3s means 3 cells. LiPo batteries have a higher voltage, HIGHER DISCHARGE rate (more punch when you floor it :)), and take specialty chargers. NiMH batteries have a lower voltage, but are much safer and take a specialty charger. When charging a LiPo battery, you NEED TO ALWAYS CHECK YOUR BATTERY!!!! Many videos explain this, but if youre starting out with a cheap car, Gens Ace LiPo batteries are reliable and cheap. Just make sure to watch videos on charging and talk to your local hobby shop, if you have one.
s = cell count. Each cell has a nominal voltage of 3.7 volts (3.7V). A 2s pack has two cells (7.4V). A 3s pack has 11.1V. etc. c = discharge rate: This is how fast a battery can be discharged safely. A high powered motor can damage or even burn up (fire) a battery with too low of a discharge rate. But buying a battery with a really high discharge rate would be a huge waste of money if your motor can’t use it. A LiPo pack is able to deliver its energy steadily until it completely drains whereas a NiMH pack decreases its delivery as it drains (keeps getting weaker and weaker). LiPo packs deliver more power. Also, NiMH packs should be allowed to cool after draining and after charging. NiMH packs should be completely drained prior to charging. A bit of a hassle. LiPo packs don't require these measures. When I switched from a 7 cell NiMH hump pack (8.4V) to a 2s (2 cell) LiPo of 7.4V, I was very impressed with the marked superiority of the LiPo in power, ease of use, and runtime. I switched to LiPo exclusively years ago. I will never go back. It is by far superior technology.
Hi , a question: Spektrum DX6C ( of maybe DX5C ) is compatible with my possible future Mini-z MR04 EVO2? I also do model flying, I have a lot of Spektrum Rx for my DX8, can I use them for the DX6C ? e.g. Vince
I might find someone in the dirt oval community and see how it works for open sc mod and stuff I’ve been using the dx4c since it came out and it’s been great but this seems like it offers more to help make a smoother faster lap
It's TERRIBLE!! I had mine for an entire 24 hours. sent that junk back right away. Nothing worked. the screen glitched constantly. The touch screen would not respond. If it did respond then it was 10 minutes later and would just glitch right back to the wrong screen. They used Android system for it and it probably was the oldest version or who even knows what those jokers were playing at. I could not even get mine to stay on the update screen long enough to get through the update! I think a tiny breeze was causing the touch screen to do as it pleased. And it was very top heavy! like stupidly top heavy! But hey, it looked really cool until I turned it on. I dont understand why Horizon even tried to sell the DX6R's. I mean, you know that their guys had to be like, "are you serious?" Even a total noob would be able to see that it was all wrong. The idea was awesome! But you can't make an awesome idea reality if you try to go as cheap as possible to make it and ergonomics are way more important than a cool looking touch screen that was garbage from the get go. I keep seeing this type of corner cutting from Horizon lately. They have put out some reputation scarring products a lot lately. from drones to even their 1/8 scale race kits now. I think they forgot about the, "if it aint broke dont fix it" rule. Ive always ran TLR but their prices and issues are scaring me away.
I have DX5R manual awful..too many buttons cant figure out what's what..had to recal my super baja rey dozen x's...seems to default to negative th..dont know if due to avc...drive mode dont see slick or anything..spektrum put out a tutorial!!!
its not a spare wheel its a smaller wheel if you have big hands. I liked the system alot what you can choose and setup. But the remote is far to big. Apart from the os I like the flysky noble much more. Even the screen is better there. Now they have to work on the system much more
To be honest. There is lots of options out there that are better than any brand of RTR transmitters. I use stock, midgrade and high end radios for various applications. What typically determines what radio you use is in the manner you use it. I still run the stock transmitters on many of my RCs, but ones I want more control of I use better quality products.

Great video Greg...nice that they give you a spare wheel in case you get a flat. ;)
LOL, You never know!
a tip : watch series at Kaldrostream. Been using it for watching loads of movies lately.
@Carter Nikolas yup, been using Kaldrostream for since november myself :)

Good looking radio, I think I would opt for the new Rugged Spektrum
Thid does have a lot of great options, im not sure if the rugged has this many features, I guess it depends on what type of RCing u do to decide on which is better for u, as always great review Greg
The rugged is much slower....
Nice radio and great review Greg. Thanks.
Thanks John! Vogel huh? Do you get a lot of people asking you if you know what your last name means in German? I do lol

I like the dx5c or the rugged. Especially if it's your first rc and you want a good radio.

With the telemetry can you see the batery voltage in your rig? :)
I’m still using a dx3r looks a cool transmitter
Excellent video and excellent radio system
Very nice run big thumbs up my friend XD
Cool video Greg!!
What does the back of the wheel look like. Like the pattern

Ok thanks to both of you
@@buchel1033 no problem i hope you have fun in the hobby
Very good explanations😉👍
How do you change full rip? How to switch to training mode? How to make it show how my volts you have left?
Can use on all stock receivers by arrma cars?

Wow! I’d love to have one, but my expertise is purely average at best.
This radio is purely for the expert racer. But, WOW!
Can the 4 or 5 options be used on trucks that arent already preloaded? Example..can i program this remote to use the trainer mode with my arma kraton?
Is the throttle response better on the pro I have the 5 smart
Typhon 3s!
Enjoyed that thank you!
Sounds like a good radio!
Do you think it’s better then the fly sky noble?
Sean’s RC’s Adventures yes its better But i got the flysky its a great buy for the $ 👌🏻
I might find someone in the dirt oval community and see how it works for open sc mod and stuff I’ve been using the dx4c since it came out and it’s been great but this seems like it offers more to help make a smoother faster lap
Greg, can you ever you a review of the DX6R
I have one. It's on my to-do list.
RCDriver_Online Ive been looking to get one, but theres not very many good reviews on youtube of it

RC Driver, what's the difference between the SPMR5010 and the SPM5010?
What if i have my remote set up already can i go to different modes and go back to exactly how i had it set up?
I have DX5R manual awful..too many buttons cant figure out what's what..had to recal my super baja rey dozen x's...seems to default to negative th..dont know if due to avc...drive mode dont see slick or anything..spektrum put out a tutorial!!!
Just picked up this radio but stuck on what is the knob and switch on the side of it manual don’t show anything about them
What's the big difference between radios?
What’s the range on this ??
This show speed? Like the $69 spektrum radio.
its not a spare wheel its a smaller wheel if you have big hands. I liked the system alot what you can choose and setup. But the remote is far to big. Apart from the os I like the flysky noble much more. Even the screen is better there. Now they have to work on the system much more
I got this radio system it's sweet a lot of bang for the buck LOL
How is that funny?
$250.00....where'd you get that smokin' price?? They're $329 on horizon website..
Does anyone know how good this would be with traxxas vehicles

I've had great luck w/Spektrum transmitters, but horrible luck with their servos.
Dont ya think that ~100$ for a receiver is a rip-off?
never needed all those modes, why do i need them now? dumb
That’s a third the price of a gaming computer.......
Maybe a shitty gaming computer. My gaming pc build was 4000 lol
I never understood these 250$ transmitters... they better fix my goddamn car for me at that price 😂
Sanwa looks better
