The Jdm k24a brings a different water pump housing along with alternator and auto tensioner. Before you purchase a Jdm k24a make sure you get the proper Usdm spec water pump housing assembly to make it compatible to the Usdm specs.

Great information! I bought a JDM K24A from an Accord Type S (basically an 04-05 TSX) and those come with the US spec bracket. The K24A that comes with the weird bracket is the one from the Odyssey Absolute. You can easily tell the Accord K24A engine apart from the Odyssey Absolute K24A because the Accord K24A has no power steering pump, it just has an idler pulley like the EP3. The Odyssey Absolute engine has a power steering pump instead. The Odyssey Absolute K24A also had a weird looking engine cover that doesn't look like anything we get in America. Hope this helps!

Great info. I just purchased a JDM k24A with the correct usdm accessories as well. After reading your comment I did some research. I found the JDM Accord Wagon is the model without the power steering pump. If it's the Accord sedan it has the power steering pump but the alternator appears to be bolted the usdm direction. Also, if you decide to purchase a JDM Accord Wagon motor there are two K24 versions. The K24T makes 197 HP, and k24E makes 160 HP. The motors are not stamped K24T and E this is just some information I found while researching. The CM2 is the Accord Wagon Type S variant. Luckily the motor I purchased was a Type S Wagon.

Picked up a K24A RBB4 (RBB3/4 has lightweight pistons and an additional ~5 hp) from a JDM engine importer. Spent about 2 hours at his shop looking at all the K24s available and this RBB4 I chose was the cleanest, oil was golden and full, oil filter was Honda OEM (well maintained) and included a PS pump and Alternator. Also the front crank pulley was undamaged unlike a few others I saw. Came without a compressor but don't plan on running AC anyways. Now starts the process of prep and parts acquisition prior to doing the pullout/swap.

This is a big help! Bought an Rsx with a k24a and it has KTuned ac&ps delete kit. And I want to put the ac back and I’m not to worry about the ps since I’ll be getting the KTuned ep3 pulley kit (which you did but which one did you get?). I ordered the dc5creation ac tuck line kit with condenser with built in dryer. I just changed my engine for the first time ever a few months ago. There wasn't to many parts to change.
      1. First i switched the passenger side motor mount. I just removed the one from my original motor, very easy to change. The jdm one is different.I believe it's because the k24a comes off a jdm Odyssey absolute but I'm not sure.
      2. The second thing you'll have to swap over from the original k24a2 is your accessory/serpentine belt bracket. It's also contains the water pump housing. You'll also have to switch over one of the upper studs from the A2 to the A so you can mount the bracket.
      3. You have to switch over your upper radiator hose fitting on the head... I'm not exactly sure what it's called.
      4. I switched my original intake manifold and throttle body. I think you might only have to change the throttle body but I switched them over together because I think it was easier for me.
      5. You'll be using your original engine wiring harness so don't cut it out.
      6. I almost forgot you'll also have to switch the front motor mount bracket.
      7. You'll have to switch over your a.c. compressor.
I think that's everything you'll have to change over but if you have the tsx you don't have to buy anything extra because it's all on the k24a2 already... Just switch parts.
Let me know if there's anything else I can help you with. Overall this is a pretty easy swap imo.
Good luck if you go ahead and try it.
Edit: I can go into more details if we could talk live... There's a couple of more things I could explain better.

I see some water housing marked prb and rbc. Whats the difference? Is it important to pick one for turbo k24a?

    • @Almostboosted
      @Almostboosted  2 года назад +1

From my understanding, the PRB is from the RSX type s k20a2 and k20z1 is has the oil cooler water pump. Which works great but... seen people have issues clearing bigger intake manifolds like the RBC of the usdm k20z3 and the jdm k20a accord type r. The RBC Waterpump housing has better clearance and is also oil cooling you would need to get the complete hose kit along with oil cooler for it to work. Is not needed for turbo but nice to have.

    • @Almostboosted

The oem oil cooler use coolant to cool down the circulating oil to cool it down. You could also add a aftermarket sandwich plate along with hose lines with a oil cooler mini condenser and have it air to oil cooled.
