I could turn wrenches with this guy all day lol. This is probably hands down the best build video I've watched. No over the top, super detail nonsense I don't need. Just to the point. Definitely subscribed
RUclips algorithm is on point. Just spent like 3k on K24 stuff for my MR2 and this is the video that was recommended. Probably will watch this 3x over the next few months.
Appreciate ur time damn I got my motor on the stand and I’m ready to do the same thing just waiting to get the parts to jump into. I definitely feel more comfortable to do it now thks bro
What good aki dope video as always just wanted to give you tip, pause, pause, pause!!! If you stand on both of the engine stand legs flywheel when loosening the head bolts or cam cap the stand won't move just a hint brother stay blessed
For anyone reading this, its now a better idea to use the FD2 civic Type R oil pump instead of the RSX type S oil pump. No need for cutting and grinding. Only when using the 8th gen oilpan, it also seats deeper into the oil pan, which help with oil starvation issues in cornering. You can even find it cheaper than the Type S oil pump as well.
Minute 22:30 or so is when you could see/hear that the bolt fell out. Good thing it was nothing too serious 😅👍🏽 great video Aki! Will be watching part 2 as well 🙌🏽 God bless 🙏🏼
information is the best motivation. all these little tricks do lots for lifetime. KG bumper vent i got is so sick and cut so well, his quality of info and parts he supplies is second to none.
Saw 5 seconds of this video and subscribed! Keep up the good work I'll be using your videos to build a k20 with my son. We have no mechanic experience but you make it look fun.
Mad respect to you for this video! I recently decided to go for a honda engine for my project build but wasnt sure if I wanted to have a learning experienceTaking the block apart with out knowing the whole process or taking it to a reputable shop in my area and seeing what you did and how it goes gave me some confidence. So with the help from my older cousin since he been in the honda game and your info I will definetly start sourcing parts and everything 👏🏽👏🏽💪🏽👏🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽Good looks on the info bro!
Thanks so much aki‼️‼️‼️‼️ I just got stuck on pulling the oil plug out n having 2 replace it with the 12mm screw. I hop on RUclips n look up ur video n got it out in 2 minutes ur way with that Screw helped so much‼️‼️‼️‼️ I was stuck trying 2 get this out.
This the first video I’ve ever watched of aki I remember watching this a couple years ago and save on my playlist now I’m watching KG Garage video lol..
👏🏼 great video. If you go back to 22:30 in the video you can see the bolt fall out when you flip the motor. It must have walked itself out over the years
Watching again today to make a list. Appreciate you. I’ve got a turbo H2b almost finished but the parts I need are thousands of dollars, all 800hp supporting mods, so now I’m building an all motor k eg like PD to keep me happy while I work for the racecar
~15mins into my first video. You've got a great energy, Aki. Thanks for putting out this knowledge. Looking forward to catching up on what you've been up to.
Bolt fell out at 22:30 was just hanging there But looks like it was backed out a little when you pulled the timing cover off Seems unlikely it wouldnt have ended up in the oil pan during use. Maybe cover was holding in place. I never impact these 6m, 8m bolts just run em out. Saves the hassle.
Brah, you absolutely threw sun real knowledge out here, best tutorial video on RUclips hands down.. enjoyed it very much and learned a ton, love how you explain everything and why, what if’s and what can one do to solve!! Bravo... keep them coming chief...
Whats up Top Gun! Thanks for the video man. Covid really sucks. Car was stolen a long time ago and now recently someone stole my bike from right outside my home. Haven't had the opportunity to get another vehicle as of yet. These videos really inspire me to get another vehicle and just have hope that anything can be done by myself. Truly an inspiration and not just for motors but for life. Thanks Top Gunna!
Get a set of impact sockets. They are slightly thicker and stronger to help remove tight bolts. You'll eventually crack your chrome sockets if you keep holding the trigger down like that, they not made for that kind of abuse.
So blessed that you made this video. I recently bought a turbo k swapped hatch and i ended up blowing it up. Bought a jdm motor and wanted to do the type s mod and didn’t know how. Thanks bro
So much info. I try to watch various videos. I bought my son a 2001 Prelude. He loves that body style. He wants to build up a motor for it. Thanks for all the detailed info.
Since your using impacts you need to pair them up with impact extensions or impact sockets.. Makes bigger difference than when you pair up hand tool extension or hand tool sockets
Good video. Super detailed. I give you respect man, I lost inspiration in working on my car. But seeing this really made me want to get back to it again. Thanks man for your time, effort, and patience to teach all of us !! 💪🏻🔥
Aki i also have the Same stubby. If you use the recirculate feature its 10ft lbs. once it reaches the torque it will stop there unless you keep hitting the trigger.
Anyone notice the oil pump still touching the block? It's tilting as he taps it down with the hammer, then again when he does the bolts up. The way oil pumps work, I wouldn't be happy with any extra stress on the pump casing. Also, reusing the oil pump tensioner is an interesting choice, considering if it fails, things can go wrong real quick.
I think you'd get better use out of your impact guns if you used sockets and extensions made for impact guns. They seem to transmit more of the force from the gun more effectively. Also, at higher torques there is a greater possibility of the non-impact rated sockets to just break apart. One point of improvement is that I think you should limit using metal prying tools to break apart joints. A couple of whacks with a rubber mallet will have the same effect, but will preserve the integrity of the sealing surfaces.
On that crank pulley bolt I use a 19mm with my Milwaukee 1/2 impact gun.that Impact gun is no joke and it'll brake loose them bolts even those 36mm that has over 300lbs torque but the gun has almost 2k of torque with the right battery
Great video man thank you! One suggestion I got is if you stand on the engine stands legs while you're torquing head studs it won't try to spin on you. Figured that out by accident one time lol
I just did I Tine-Sert on a broken tensioner pulley bolt and that shot heals up. 33ft. Ibs. I if you ever had another bad thread bro I recommend that 💯
This guy was really having conversations with us through the video 😂
I’ve found that the best youtubers do exactly that.

RUclips algorithm is on point. Just spent like 3k on K24 stuff for my MR2 and this is the video that was recommended. Probably will watch this 3x over the next few months.
This is the grass roots motoring/car building that got me into the car scene, it feels old school but with modern engineering
Appreciate ur time damn I got my motor on the stand and I’m ready to do the same thing just waiting to get the parts to jump into. I definitely feel more comfortable to do it now thks bro
Just found the channel. I feel like you’re my uncle teaching me how to work on cars. Love it
Thank you to everyone that sent some love to my CashApp! Much appreciated 🔫🌎❤️

Yep, put the speed to 0.25x and you can see it fall out of the right hand side, just after the fluid drops.
“This motors got some compression on it I feel it” *pause” this dude funny asf

Slap that like button for aki. Dude is a straight shooter & good people’s . Plus he’s a OG in the Honda world 🤙
Nice save on the strippy oil pump bolt without the magnaflux helicoil...who else was playing blues clues for the mallet on the floor?
The bolt fall down on 22:28 thank you for everything you do!

Thanks for having real struggles and for taking the time!!! Its a huge help
New Zealand watching
Just replaced 6 bent exhaust valves in FTO V6 2 litre so appreciate your skills.
2 years later and I still feel included in the video
Use bags and label them as you go too. Keeps the bolts organized for beginners. I still do this out of habit. Cheers 🥂
