Gotta love how either the one individual that disliked the video is either one that didn't want this info out or hates this man for giving info out. Keep moving forward Aki!
dude!! you saved me when you said that you'll never get those links to line up all the same again . i was thinking that they HAD to eventually go back to start position , so i cranked on that motor for a hour straight trying to get the gold links , arrows, dots etc all back in place . i was just about to pull the chain and start over when i watched this . thanks!
Man...your demeanor, personality & teaching style is what makes you my favorite teacher. (I always appreciate those torque specs btw...still learning😅) The part about really understanding what it is you're doing has been the most vital in learning how to work on my CRV. Thank you so very much for sharing your expertise & knowledge with us :) It's a pleasure to have access to such valuable resources nowadays.
Giving it that extra click at the end straight gem right there... did my chain and tensioner a few weeks ago and was getting chain noise after thought they sold me a bad tensioner... I’ve watched tons of videos and nobody showed that!!! Amazing video bro I appreciate you! 🔫🔫🔫
Always super helpful, would like to send a k24 out to you to get looked over that after changing water pump the oil still gets dirty really quick and has some metal shavings in it
josXslave i understand, i seen them but it would be nice to see it from a different youtuber, not even that he could probably change someone live aswell with a b series!
Keep it gunnin.. all this video made me ready to built my k series.. never thought it's this easy until u explain everything in detail n hand on.. bro keep more coming..
Man...in the middle of my a2 build my a3 crapped..im gonna try to save the engine for when my sons driving. That way he can just buy a k car with a blown engine and swap it himself...i tried to just change the tensioner..but the chains stretched..160k of abuse ..i cant complain.i spent 2 years bashing and red lining it.
I like how you keep the mistakes or blooper and don’t edit them out it shows the common mistakes we will all make before doing the job great bro love the video big help to us all #keepgunning 🔫🔫🔫🔫🚗🐐
When you pushed the guild back with the screw driver the 19mm spanner dropped a little , this happened to me and now my triangles don’t line up, cars is still poping and banging
Dude I never comment I just watch, looking at this video gave so much confident to do this to my K24A JDM great detailed info. Keep it up. Thanks again.
Saludos ¿On some builds I have seen you push in the left chain guide with different tools to help build tension? I have a k20a3 and replaced the exhaust cam. I set timing and noticed its almost on perfect time. BUT the chain is stretched its got 160,000 miles on it. This a3’s tolerances are within spec but I did not push on the guide and now its sealed up. I am going to set it down and see what is wrong with the other engine a k20a2 its got some internal noise behind the chain cover when fully warm and low compression in #2 and #3. The a3 was supposed to be my spare but I am concerned and dont want to damage it. Compression was low but within the allowed variance in #4, 150psi 13.8 variance. And it had about 30% cylinder leakage on the leak down test. A very little bit of air coming out the exhaust ports. It had been sitting in the living room since 2018.
Great and informative video, my only question is if the arrow on the front cam phaser/cam gear on the intake side. Does it need to align with the arrow on the 1st cam cap when TDC is set and all other marks line up?
Bar none the k series chain tensioner is VERY VERY crucial to keeping your K alive !!! A brand new aftermarket one that’s beefed up like Ktuned, Toda or Skunk2 In my personal opinion is the way to go! Especially w/ aftermarket cams. Keep Gunnin 🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫
If anyone comes in to watch these great vlogs that you are putting up and gives them a thumbs down is definitely not a Gunner. Just a hater cause they mad they can't do this kind of work on there own. Great video keep GUNNIN 🔫🔫
Bro I'm still on d and b series give me a couple years to catch up. Ha ha you the man for showing people how to do things yourself and you dont always need a shop to do it for you. #builtnotbought.
AKI T-Shirt idea - The word Gems or the emoji 💎 on a shirt. “Giving away Gems” lol idk something like that. Or the supreme logo with 💎 💎 💎 in it. Keep fucking GUNNIN!!!!
Man this video was awesome very informative ,when I watched this I had already watched several other videos, this was by far the most useful thanks brother and keep it coming
How likely you would recommend installing BGA or FAI chain kit to k20 engine? As where im from, genuine complete chain kit is around 1000€/usd. As where BGA/FAI is muchmuch cheaper, around 400€ with intake vtc and exhaust sprocket. Im kinda in troubling with this one.
I have a 2009 Honda Civic SI Coupe, Swapped the block (TSX 2004-2008) for K24, using K20 Z3 Head, but want to use the K20 (new) Oil Pump, because I'm not racing or going to the track, daily driver. After modifying the K20 Oil Pump, will this be okay? Thanks for all your knowledge, much appreciated. Almost forgot, did go ahead and plugged the oil hole, with 10 mm screw (Honda bond), was giving P2647 error code, changing everything could not figure out why the code until came across videos like yours.
Hey great videos thanks. I have a question about cutting the oil pump. I bought the pump precut by another person and they cut away the threaded boss instead of shaving it down. What’s bolts down to that boss and how important is it? I was thinking I could just weld on another boss if it’s critical. Thanks
Aki about this video, did you reuse the timing chain or they are new? I bought an used low mileage JDM k24A motor from Japan and been thinking if I should get a new set of timing chain while doing the type s oil pump. What is your recommendation? By the way, for the oil pump, by replacing the balance shaft style oil pump to type s. Will it cause the engine to vibrates more? What’s your commend on type s oil pump swap? Thx a lot
I have a 05 Honda element ex AWD and need my motor fully rebuilt it's still in the car as I still use it everyday. The exhaust blows blue smoke so it's burning oil. How much would you charge to rebuild it fully
Question brother, my VTC valve is stuck. Doing a k24 head swap and the valve is still stuck in the head I just removed today. I kept spinning it and won’t come out. And suggestions? Thanks.
Teaching the next generation
SP Tuning I agree
Gotta love how either the one individual that disliked the video is either one that didn't want this info out or hates this man for giving info out. Keep moving forward Aki!
I was always nervous about doing the oil pump and setting timing. This makes me feel way more confident. Thanks aki!!!
Not gonna lie gave me confidence to do my own timing and I just got it done
Dead ass feel the same way !
Amazing how u showing the comunity how to do what a lot of people won’t show. Deff support the movement. Keep gunnin Aki ty.

Does it run right?
You boosted my confidence more than anyone ever has

Great tip on holding the rear of the cams I knew I was off in timing and thank God I watched the video now all good 👍
Your videos are the only ones I've found done in such a way that its super easy to find the correct video and then the part numbers for what I need!
Always super helpful, would like to send a k24 out to you to get looked over that after changing water pump the oil still gets dirty really quick and has some metal shavings in it
That last extra click not too much tensions on the chain ?
Happy u doing this good role model
Step by step, very well explained! We need some b series videos! Keep Gunnin guys!
Honda street garage has tons of informative videos about b series
josXslave i understand, i seen them but it would be nice to see it from a different youtuber, not even that he could probably change someone live aswell with a b series!
Great video and content, followed you step by step for my K20A, appreciate you taking the time to make this fam
Keep it gunnin.. all this video made me ready to built my k series.. never thought it's this easy until u explain everything in detail n hand on.. bro keep more coming..
Keep gunnin my Aki arabi
When you released the tensioner it looked like your crank moved one tooth.. watch the wrench on the crank shaft. Wouldn't that make the timing off?
I think I just learned more than I ever did at school lol🤣
A Video I’ll need (saved) shortly. Thanks Aki
Keep 🔫🔫🔫🔫🔫.

Hey brother your videos have been a life saver for me wile I'm collecting parts for my k24a2 build for my 2002rsx
Man I love your videos especially dyi plz dont stop spreading knowledge
That oil pump chain was sob on mine but I got it. k20A2 with 5 speed trans dc2 Integra gone rip aki
Carlos Soria checking in
Just baught a ported type s from a cat upstate came off one of his personal cars Shawn k20 can’t wait to install mines
Why not pull the spark plugs so you’re not fighting compression?
Dont put to much tension on the chain you will wear of your chain guides much faster and loose tension over time mistake bu him...

I followed all your steps. The cams line up and crank as well & chain. When I rotate it 2 full turns everything lines up except for the chain marks.
Saved to watch later didn’t have time but only to come back and give you more views 🔫
