The fact of the way they do these show's and the horrible, disgusting thing's portrayed, crime's against children literally worldwide that goe's against all moral's that man is supposed to possess and doe's not any longer, goe's to show where the world is going!!...this show and many other's like it are becoming totally irrelevant, since now these morally corrupt day's these pedo's and queen's are now supported and celebrated...for God's sake, they are allowing all these freak's and psycho's with major mental illness's entertain children in school's and parade's, and showing book's and literature that no children under the age of 18 should see....
It breaks my heart to see stories like this considering how much this happens in real life and how many victims feel like they can’t speak up about it, especially when the victims are male. There is such an awful stigma when it comes to male victims of SA or domestic abuse. They get judged and ignorant people somehow have the mindset that men cannot be victims because “they can just fight them off.” It doesn’t matter if the abuser is a male or a woman, MEN CAN BE VICTIMS TOO.
Honestly I experienced the same thing But not with stranger ,it was my uncle I was about ten years old. I told my mom and she said don't tell anyone so l kept my mouth shut
I was a victim of grooming by a female teacher, my case was never investigated. And still hasn't been despite over 50 students after me coming forward with allegations against the teacher.
I was molested by a neighbor. My parents' response was as bad, or worse than the thing itself. They decided it would be better to hush it up and pretend it never happened for my sake, because they believed the scandal would harm me, and probably if I'm being honest, themselves. So, they never reported it or did anything, really, except tell the guy to stay away, and they coached me to never talk about it. But in the process, they managed to fill me with so much guilt and shame, as if it was my fault. For years I felt dirty and wrong inside. They didn't understand as I grew older, why I was so rebellious and acted out a lot. Hell, I didn't understand it myself until years later, when I was finally able to process what had happened. I realize to this day, I still harbor a lot of resentment and bitterness towards my parents for how they handled the situation. I was 5 at the time.
same honestly I was molested to but my parents told me to stay away from him and my dad continued being friends with him never acknowledging the situation I was around 5 or 6 at the time
@@rithikaroyroy6307 I like to think I have. It was 5 decades ago, and I got some good therapy in my 20s. I think being able to talk it out did more for me than anything.
I personally have not watched any shows that have (or at least can’t think of any) nor have I heard the comment. But it is amazing that more people are discussing the issue!
@@basedblackgirl9920 That's the issue with some shows, you can have 4 shows all exactly alike, but the crowd will often flock to one...maybe two and it comes down to the actors. It's sad, because while many shows like this may not cover stories based on actual events, they do cover some pretty sensitive topics in pretty accurate depictions. But people don't want to watch shows for how accurate they are (at least most don't anyway), they watch shows for the entertainment, so better actors, better scripts, means more attention.
I'm sorry about hearing about this. I just wish that no one would have to deal with what you must have suffered. Filth like this man don't deserve to breathe the same air as good people do.
Unbelievable. This grown man molests two boys (that we know of) and pays an older boy to “keep Colin quiet” and he thinks he isn’t responsible when his meaning is misconstrued!? You secretly paid someone you had influence over to take care of a problem for you. They’re actions are tied to you, and you deserve to go to prison for a long time for it.

The kid he paid off would probably get a reduced sentence if he cooperates with the police, but that's assuming he didn't have any prior acts on his criminal record. Source: I have an Associates degree and a bachelor's degree in criminal justice, and I interned at a District Attorney's office in my college town.
This happened at a high school in my area. The gym teacher groomed and molested a boy on his basketball team, even befriending his parents (I know them personally). It went to trial. The coach was friends with the history teacher at the school and that teacher brought the entire basketball team to the trial to support the COACH and there was no disciplinary action taken by the school. I believe he got 8 years jail time, and the week he was released he showed up a the mother's work and stared at her. Fast forward 5 years another incident where a very young basketball coach at the same school is arrested for molesting a boy on the team. This young coach was on the team when the first molester was coaching him, so I had to wonder if it happened to him, too, and now he is molesting. The history teacher who supported the molester in court is still teaching there and the victim and his siblings were still attending the school. He used to go with the first molester coach on a trip with the team to Florida as a chaperone. Not for a basketball game, but fun in the sun type boy gathering at a Florida resort. I have no idea why more wasn't made of any of this.
I’m shocked that History teacher wasn’t investigated, not for supporting the coach (Although that is suspicious but not illegal or an indication of anything.) I am more thinking because of his repeated chaperoning. As someone close to the suspect you would at the very least question him, especially because of what could have happened at said trips.

You can write anything on a car, which means there are so many possibilities the writer can pick. So why would they choose pedophile unless there's something going on OR they know that kind of accusation is going to hurt that particular person more than something like murderer.

People get jail time for too many parking tickets, but people that ruin a minor’s, (or anyone for that matter), innocence, gets a plea deal of 30 days in jail with 15 days of house arrest, and a 15,000 dollar fine? I’m making that plea deal more realistic than they are in our corrupt system.
My family have felt the heartache caused by sexual predators, the family member was 10 years old. She wasn't the only one, he had a harem in his classroom. He got 2 years and she self harmed when she found out he was out of Jail! It took more than a decade to undo the trauma, she's finally free of the drugs and pursuing her career thank you Lord. I wonder how his other victims are doing?
Every victim is valid, male, female, whatever you identify as. If you are violated you shouldnt be scared to tell someone because of your gender. Men have feelings, everyone has feelings. Whoever sees this, take care you are loved❤️
Until I was like 17/18 I didn’t even know your abuser could be the same gender. I knew any gender could be a victim though. That was 2 or three years ago for me. Imagine. So I didn’t even know most of my abusers were actually abusers just cos we’re both females.

I told my mom what a school bus driver did to me when I was 6. Her response was to beat me with a belt claiming that I made it up just to get attention. Were parents THAT oblivious in the 70's!?
Whether it's a man, woman, neither, a child, anyone can be a victim. To those who have been through this kind of abuse, or any form of abuse in general, speak up to others and don't ever let these predators take away your power! Stay strong and know that someone will be there to support you. If you don't have anyone to talk to, you can talk to me if you wish to. I won't force anyone , I'm just here as an open door to those who can't go to someone. I haven't gone through this kind of experience, so please correct me if I were to say something that might be a trigger word to anyone. Although in a different circumstance, I know what it's like to feel afraid to speak up. I am sincerely sorry this kind of abuse happens to many of human beings. Know that you have power to help others, you never know if you'll end up saving another person's life without even realizing it ❤️ While these sick predators try to hide the truth like the cowards they are, YOU are the ones who can make a difference by speaking up!
@@lxbronx6 Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately there are situarions where it's a family member. Talk to someone you absolutely trust, call the police. If you can, talk to a professional therapist. Cut off and forever disown whoever does that kind of abuse and to others who allow it to happen. For some people that can be extremely hard, and I'm no therapist what so ever. It makes me sad when I hear stories of family members hurting their own flesh and blood in those sorts of ways. You have to do what is right for you.
@@horserider101ful To bad my Abuser is getting support while my family and I suffer along with my Mum who blames herself for what a fat cow did to me. I keep saying its not her fault.....she still blames herself.
@@horserider101ful I know right. Bail nor parole shouldn't be allowed but I think relooking into the case a few times is ok because some people are falsely incriminated but besides that, they should spend their whole life in jail
@@horserider101ful I agree. Abusers like this in real life are all too often given an extremely light prison sentence (or no prison time at all). Predators like this are vile and pathetic excuses of a human being.
And because of incidents like this, legitimate people who work with children must operate in a more distant, transparent manner to avoid the appearance of wrongdoing. Calling over a 3rd party is a common course of action.
Everyone, just so you all know, you should NEVER touch a victim of this kind of crime without permission. It could trigger a trauma response which could make things worse.
@Something125 I saw that too the detective putting his hand on the boys shoulder not once but twice. And I straight away thought he shouldn't be doing that. A woman maybe, but definitely not a man. Reminds me of Attorney Leslie Abramson putting her hands all over Eric Menendez on court tv. SA victim Eric would never have accepted a male doing that. But of course here they are only actors who wouldn't know the trauma it could cause

That’s disgusting. The poor boy didn’t wanna get the coach in trouble because he still had care for him even though what the couch did. How unfair. He was scared and just tried to move on and forgive and forget like it was a normal. It’s sad that we live in a world like this today that adults and especially kids must suffer because of this. I hope for the best for them to be strong and be able to move on because of this.
This was such a great episode. It was a little unrealistic with how fast the guy got arrested (we all wish they could be locked up that fast) but the acting by the boy and the members of PD was phenomenal. it’s so awful how stuff like this happens so often yet goes unheard.
I love the male representation. Men and boys are often told they liked it or wanted it just because of their gender. People really need to realize it happens to them as well and everyone can be at risk.
I always feel bad for lawyers who have to defend people like this, especially if they know the person is guilty. They aren't proud of it but it's their job to represent someone even if it's the wrong side.
Sadly you are wrong. There are plenty of pedo's who walk the streets now thanks to having very good lawyers that get them off due to some stupid technicality, some are rather brazen in their actions and talk about it openly in social media and sometimes in person. We just had one here in Vegas, guy got off thanks to his lawyer, bragged about it for three years before someone took a knife to him.
Yeah it’s sick how these people are. We had one living with us and didn’t know it until he started acting weird and bringing young people around. Then when he made a weird comment we pulled his name and stuff up and found out all about him. Found out that he spent time in prison for a very disgusting act against a very young child. I had to leave the house to not go off. Was all bad. Gone now tho.
I have 3 grown sons. When they was young and started going on band trips and staying at a friends home, I sat them down and told them of all the dangers. I told them if anyone try’s anything you better tell me. Do not be embarrassed because it’s never your fault. I told them if they were threatened in any way that it was just a threat to make them not tell. Don’t believe it. My boys came to me with personal subjects instead of their Dad. Why, don’t know. I guess because I was with them everyday while their Dad worked. We talked all the time !! I am so lucky they have grown up to be good men. -All parents need to sit and talk to their kids. Start at a young age and explain all this to them. They will trust you and come to you with problems. Don’t ignore them. 💙

I know it's a TV show, but the sentiment is no less true to real-life cases: it's one thing to hear adults talk about kids getting molested, but it's even sadder and more infuriating to hear it from the kid themself.
@celticbandit548 Actors playing teenagers are often slightly older than the character in real life. If the character is 14 or 15, the actor's age could range from 16 to 18. If they're playing a character who's 16 or older, they could even be in their early 20s. A lot of it is about actual teens being too young to perform something that would be inappropriate for a minor. The solution is a slightly older person who looks young for their age.
I was recently groomed and sa by my gym coach unfortunately when I tried to seek help the school brushed me off and told me to shut up because it will ruin his reputation and his marriage if I report him

Not quite true. As it is said "anything you say can and will be used against you." Just asking for a lawyer isn't enough you also have to stay quite until one shows up. Will it make procedure slightly more complicated probably but will not change the out come.
Not really; cops LOOOOVE getting confessions. Lotta times, even if you didn't do it; too many don't even care. They'll play head games, psych you out, lie to your face, play good-cop-bad-cop, and offer you a bottle of water just so they can collect DNA and fingerprints off you, but they adore confessions. Doesn't matter if you lawyered up; the prosecutor will still trot out your own words and use them against you. They'll twist those words, put words in your mouth, and confuse you, try to paint you to look even worse than the demonic lovechild of Ted Bundy, Robert Blake and Dr. Mengele...all because you confessed.
With a good lawyer, anything he says after he asks for a lawyer and before one gets there would most likely get tossed out of court. The second he says, “I want a lawyer” the police are to stop the interrogation. Cut, print, end of story.
@Bla Bla the confession would be thrown out. He asked for his lawyer. Everything after that the cops can’t use unless he specifically waved his rights. Everything he said before asking for a lawyer will still be used against him tho.
I know the cop is trying to help but they should have had a women cop in there. A grown man hurt him. I know not all men but this is raw for this kid. I think he would have felt safer with a woman. Like how they have women cops with female rape victims. Update:I have noticed this is getting comments about it needing to be the opposite gender to the abuser, I fully agree and I dont think my comment says I disagree with this I was addressing in this situation its a male victim of a male abuser and though the cop is meaning well especially putting his hand on him like that can make the situation worse. Trigger ptsd etc since he was abused by a man. I know women and girls coming forward is more common (though many still dont come forward) so they seem to know put female sexual abuse or even just normal abuse victims with female cops if their abuser (in most cases is) a man. This boy was abused by a man they sent in a man cop knowing there is a good chance the gym teacher abused him which doesnt make sense though he meant well it seems like they didnt take into account it could be triggering especially touching his shoulders like that. Normally that kinda touch is consoling but not to a victim of sexual abuse if that makes sense. I didnt clarify because I was kinda commenting on this specific situation. I brought up female victims of male abusers because I was referencing how they often know to give them a female cop and they didnt do that here.
Ok but the victim may have had been assaulted by a woman as well which kinda makes it tricky. Not everyone by default will feel more comfortable if it’s a woman especially when the victim is a male admitting assault
@@jasonlang9074 for sure men are better to deal with those cases I meant this being a case with a male abuser it may be triggering for the male cop to have his hand on him like that. I know hes trying to help.
@@Waffles705 yes but unfortunately when women assault people a lot less of the time they dont think to send male cops in to talk instead. More commonly men sexually abuse more than women (though it does happen and in more ways than one just like when men abuse) regardless of gender of victim. I just meant in this particular situation they suspected a male abuser so it would make more sense to send in a female cop. Im with you guys on that but I was just pointing out that it would be hard if assaulted by a man for a man to be putting their hands on you like that. Though he is trying to help it can cause ptsd reactions. In this case they already knew the coach was suspected to be hurting and the boy had already been talking about how the man had gotten to him. Before they sent the cop in however they knew it was a big possibility that the teacher had assaulted him too. I honestly wish more cops/social workers/ etc thought about these things. Yes the person could ask but sometimes its hard to ask and him being as young as he was still at an age where hes hit puberty but still young and being the killer I think that wasnt taken into consideration. The cop was being very sympathetic though doing his best of course I just think from the boys perspective that could be quite intimidating and triggering to put his hands on him like that.

As a survivor, it’s so important to see those in authority (the police) believing the survivor. More often than not we don’t think we will be believed so we say nothing - add to that our perpetrators threatened us into silence. We live with what was done to us all our lives. Every day.
@@UXWJ Yes. Very true. Currently a longtime friend is incarcerated for this very reason. I’ve known him 30-plus years and never had reason to doubt his innocence. All but one of the charges against him were dropped since no evidence was found that satisfied the court. One charge against him is what is keeping him there for years to come. Yes, you can never truly know someone since people will do something out of the blue that catches us all off guard.
Prayers for the actors who portray these difficult stories. But they are so much more then that, this happen everyday , every 60 seconds in this world.
This is a sickening act. It’s a shame a large segment of our society has chosen to politicize that charged term and use it against those they disagree with. What they don’t realize is that by doing that, they may be diluting its meaning.
What is more sickening is that you are defending the perpetrators of well documented incidents of what should be classified as sex crimes against children.
Many Republicans throw that term around very easily against any Democrat. To the point where it is very believable it could end up spray painted on an innocent person's vehicle. You're right about the meaning being diluted and it only emboldens those who use it to accuse people they have disagreements with even more. Especially under the cloak of anonymity.
@@joewhitehead3 yeah it got recommended, it would probably be a good plot twist as a stand alone movie, but obviously not as a series, it was a bit bizarre the way he was touching him and hovering over him after what happened though
I wouldn't even want to know what goes on in anyone's head to commit such a stomach churning crime against children or vulnerable people any age. I've had several friends in and out of the military who confided in me about there experiences. Nicest people you ever want to meet, to hear there heartbreaking real life events and to see how far they've gone, overcoming the pain and suffering, there strength and character, its incredible and I have the utmost respect. One of my friends tried to end his life but by gods grace I was able to get to him in time to calm him and get him the help he needed. That's why I could never have worked at a state prison facility, I didn't want to know how much restraint it would take me to not...... but I'd be perfectly fine to be occupied as inmates who have children got a good workout.
Yeah that’s the only part I don’t like. I figured the whole runtime would be about this one case but instead they spend so much more time on the other crimes.

I gotta say the interrogation scene here is shockingly accurate to real life, the interrogator so many common interrogation techniques to try and get the guy to talk, the guy was almost smart saying nothing but eventually caved and confessed it was interesting to see
Child predators are at the bottom of the pecking order in prison. Letting them into general populace will usually result in them getting assaulted or killed. Even criminals know you don’t touch kids.

Most child abuse happened within the family: a father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, or brother. They go largely unreported; next is a close acquaintance, teacher, coach, pastor, or neighbor, followed by the stranger.
The moment he says he wants to talk to his lawyer, anything said is inadmissible because it is under duress and without the presence of his attorney. This is how you lose cases in real life.
Child molestation is horrible but what I find crazy that if a women did this she would get very little jail and not treated like dirt. Men always are punished more than women when its the EXACT same crime its ridiculous.
Bullshit aside this happened at one of the schools I went it was the most scariest feeling in the world having the man as a teacher he left when he found out the one of the kids went to the principal and there parents came to the police

I wish police in real life were more like this. When I reported the man that abused me when I was a kid, they took my report and said they’d look into it and call me. That was months ago. I haven’t heard back anything.
Funny thing I think it would actually be illegal for the cop to pull that stunt, once a suspect says 'I want a lawyer' questioning has to cease immediately. This would have put the confession in jeopardy.
I dont understand why the interrogator would be sitting on the table talking down to the kid. Psychologically, that intimidates or sends the message of being the one in charge. He should be sitting level with the kid.
There’s lots of things you might need a lawyer for. Any legal stuff you can go to a lawyer for advice. Some people find it easier to just have a lawyer they go to and that becomes “their lawyer”.
As a training police officer, quite a few things are illegal here. I'm from London so perhaps British Law differs from American Law here... but regardless, when a 'victim' commits a crime such as criminal damage, it is illegal for a police officer to link a testimony of another person's guilt to the crime the victim just commit and say that they won't be prosecuted for criminal damage if they talk about the pedophile otherwise, it encourages biased testimonies for the criminal damage offendee to talk about the pedophile regardless of if its true or false. They may encourage the Criminal damage offendee to talk but they mustn't link them talking to a guaranteed reduce sentence because it isn't their place to say those things. Secondly, police officers are not allowed to threaten a person that if that person doesn't talk to them now, that it will reflect negatively on their court trial - the safest and most appropriate thing to do is always to talk to one's lawyer and that should never and will never be seen as an admission of guilt, it is just a person's right on arrest. The only time when a person's refusal to speak is damaging to them is in court.
American law is EXTREMELY different, we will even give already incarcerated criminals deals for talking about their cellmates, which has lead to many a false arrest but still isn't blanket illegal, I believe, and you can 100% trade not prosecuting for info on different crimes and they regularly use that sort of thing to get their Confedential Informants, even, who are basically double agents and notoriously unreliable And cops not only will tell you not talking looks bad on you, they are legally allowed to lie to you about the evidence and even lie about letting you go if you tell them XYZ. Even though every lawyer in America will tell you not to talk without a lawyer, over 80% of people interrogates waive that right anyway because cops are only required to tell you that you have the right to but are in no way required to acknowledge that it'd be better for you and actively dissuade and manipulate you out of it. Highly suggest John Oliver's recent piece on Interrogation to see just how unreliable even confessions are in America because of how manipulative our police are permitted to be and to watch something on our police CI's, our system is trash.
I’m pretty sure one thing here is that any evidence this guy reveals to them if they continue questioning after he has invoked his right to a lawyer can be inadmissible in court. So the cop telling him the other guy’s story will be “set in stone” as pressure for him to reveal more information after the accused asks to speak to his lawyer is unhelpful in actually getting a useable confession. Also, the cop walking in and saying “we know, ok, we’re well past that” could be him completely making up evidence they don’t have and means nothing. Interrogations in America are very manipulative.
The moment he said I want to talk to my lawyer the interview was over so the cop coming back to try to get him to break wouldn’t hold up in court it would be confession under duress
My student teacher for P.E. was arrested for sleeping with one of her female students (once she was hired elsewhere as a teacher). I mean we all guessed she was into girls, we didn’t think they’d be underage ones.
I am a victim of sa when I was 9-14. My family was so tight-lipped about this stuff. It was wrong to speak up. To tell someone. I told my grandmother and she literally told me to never speak of this again. I know this kind of pain but for real. I’m messed up because of it. I have no idea how I can get past it as an adult when my young life I was taught it was bad to talk. I was disowned by my family when I came out as gay. The real kicker… am I gay because of him or am I gay because that’s who I am. That question lingers in my head like a plague.
Please seek help. You don’t want to carry this with you into the rest of your life. I don’t speak from experience or anything. However, I don’t think anyone deserves to have to shoulder something that was inflicted on them by adults, people you were supposed to trust. Much strength to you. 💕
A staff member was caught grooming one of the students in my old hs, he got caught bc the kid's mom snooped around her kid's diary (she shouldn't have but that's another story), and the kid would write abt him. Made headlines, but schl pretends nothing ever happened. This is one story that got to light, many remain unreported.
Something similar happened in my school back in 2008 and this school is in Chicago! Our gym teacher was having a relationship with a 16 yr old and some of us who had class with her had to be questioned. It felt so weird not knowing what was going on and then finding out what was going on while everything seemed like a typical school day. We never saw that girl again and our teacher was fired, made a plea deal and now a registered sex offender. He was a new father and his wife as since divorced him because she didn't want her child around him unsupervised and not cheat her out of a childhood because of something her sick father did.

Once by a baptist sunday school assistant in Haysville, Kansas and once by a church camp counselor here in Kansas. I tell ya, that if anyone tries to mess with my little 2yr old Grandson, I'll gladly spend the rest of my years in prison....cause that person will be very dead.
I am thankful, my mother gave all she could to keep me and my brother safe from this kind of sickening cruelty. Even more thankful, I have a teachers that are fighting against this kind of abuse towards children to give them hope and justice they deserve. My teachers organisation is well known here in Australia and it has been very successful in changing the laws to give victims and survivors everything they deserve to get justice and rebuild thier lives. Including in changing the laws of taking everything away from the abusers and anyone who dares to try to protect the abusers. This organisation has fought against child abuse for ten years and still fighting strong to make a difference in hope to prevent future victims.
Never respond to any question unless you have a lawyer with you. Don’t believe police “claims”. They may or may not be true but your rights should be protected.
It is SO much more common than you think. It is so common. Most of the time, the perpetrator is someone they know. Someone close. They don't look dirty. They don't look sick. They blend in. They appear normal. Often handsome. Often married. Often generous. Often kind. Often charming. Often good with kids.

It breaks my heart to see stories like this considering how much this happens in real life and how many victims feel like they can’t speak up about it, especially when the victims are male. There is such an awful stigma when it comes to male victims of SA or domestic abuse. They get judged and ignorant people somehow have the mindset that men cannot be victims because “they can just fight them off.” It doesn’t matter if the abuser is a male or a woman, MEN CAN BE VICTIMS TOO.

I was about ten years old. I told my mom and she said don't tell anyone so l kept my mouth shut
I was a victim of grooming by a female teacher, my case was never investigated. And still hasn't been despite over 50 students after me coming forward with allegations against the teacher.
I was molested by a neighbor. My parents' response was as bad, or worse than the thing itself. They decided it would be better to hush it up and pretend it never happened for my sake, because they believed the scandal would harm me, and probably if I'm being honest, themselves. So, they never reported it or did anything, really, except tell the guy to stay away, and they coached me to never talk about it. But in the process, they managed to fill me with so much guilt and shame, as if it was my fault. For years I felt dirty and wrong inside. They didn't understand as I grew older, why I was so rebellious and acted out a lot. Hell, I didn't understand it myself until years later, when I was finally able to process what had happened. I realize to this day, I still harbor a lot of resentment and bitterness towards my parents for how they handled the situation. I was 5 at the time.

@@basedblackgirl9920 That's the issue with some shows, you can have 4 shows all exactly alike, but the crowd will often flock to one...maybe two and it comes down to the actors. It's sad, because while many shows like this may not cover stories based on actual events, they do cover some pretty sensitive topics in pretty accurate depictions. But people don't want to watch shows for how accurate they are (at least most don't anyway), they watch shows for the entertainment, so better actors, better scripts, means more attention.

This happened at a high school in my area. The gym teacher groomed and molested a boy on his basketball team, even befriending his parents (I know them personally). It went to trial. The coach was friends with the history teacher at the school and that teacher brought the entire basketball team to the trial to support the COACH and there was no disciplinary action taken by the school. I believe he got 8 years jail time, and the week he was released he showed up a the mother's work and stared at her. Fast forward 5 years another incident where a very young basketball coach at the same school is arrested for molesting a boy on the team. This young coach was on the team when the first molester was coaching him, so I had to wonder if it happened to him, too, and now he is molesting. The history teacher who supported the molester in court is still teaching there and the victim and his siblings were still attending the school. He used to go with the first molester coach on a trip with the team to Florida as a chaperone. Not for a basketball game, but fun in the sun type boy gathering at a Florida resort. I have no idea why more wasn't made of any of this.

I’m shocked that History teacher wasn’t investigated, not for supporting the coach (Although that is suspicious but not illegal or an indication of anything.) I am more thinking because of his repeated chaperoning. As someone close to the suspect you would at the very least question him, especially because of what could have happened at said trips.

My family have felt the heartache caused by sexual predators, the family member was 10 years old. She wasn't the only one, he had a harem in his classroom. He got 2 years and she self harmed when she found out he was out of Jail!
It took more than a decade to undo the trauma, she's finally free of the drugs and pursuing her career thank you Lord. I wonder how his other victims are doing?

Until I was like 17/18 I didn’t even know your abuser could be the same gender. I knew any gender could be a victim though. That was 2 or three years ago for me. Imagine. So I didn’t even know most of my abusers were actually abusers just cos we’re both females.

For some people that can be extremely hard, and I'm no therapist what so ever. It makes me sad when I hear stories of family members hurting their own flesh and blood in those sorts of ways. You have to do what is right for you.

That’s disgusting. The poor boy didn’t wanna get the coach in trouble because he still had care for him even though what the couch did. How unfair. He was scared and just tried to move on and forgive and forget like it was a normal. It’s sad that we live in a world like this today that adults and especially kids must suffer because of this. This was such a great episode. It was a little unrealistic with how fast the guy got arrested (we all wish they could be locked up that fast) but the acting by the boy and the members of PD was phenomenal. it’s so awful how stuff like this happens so often yet goes unheard.

I have 3 grown sons. When they was young and started going on band trips and staying at a friends home, I sat them down and told them of all the dangers. I told them if anyone try’s anything you better tell me. Do not be embarrassed because it’s never your fault. I told them if they were threatened in any way that it was just a threat to make them not tell. Don’t believe it. My boys came to me with personal subjects instead of their Dad. Why, don’t know. I guess because I was with them everyday while their Dad worked. We talked all the time !! I am so lucky they have grown up to be good men. -All parents need to sit and talk to their kids. Start at a young age and explain all this to them. They will trust you and come to you with problems. Don’t ignore them. 💙

@celticbandit548 Actors playing teenagers are often slightly older than the character in real life. If the character is 14 or 15, the actor's age could range from 16 to 18. If they're playing a character who's 16 or older, they could even be in their early 20s.
A lot of it is about actual teens being too young to perform something that would be inappropriate for a minor. The solution is a slightly older person who looks young for their age.

Not really; cops LOOOOVE getting confessions. Lotta times, even if you didn't do it; too many don't even care. They'll play head games, psych you out, lie to your face, play good-cop-bad-cop, and offer you a bottle of water just so they can collect DNA and fingerprints off you, but they adore confessions. Doesn't matter if you lawyered up; the prosecutor will still trot out your own words and use them against you. They'll twist those words, put words in your mouth, and confuse you, try to paint you to look even worse than the demonic lovechild of Ted Bundy, Robert Blake and Dr. Mengele...all because you confessed.
With a good lawyer, anything he says after he asks for a lawyer and before one gets there would most likely get tossed out of court. The second he says, “I want a lawyer” the police are to stop the interrogation. Cut, print, end of story.

I know the cop is trying to help but they should have had a women cop in there. A grown man hurt him. I know not all men but this is raw for this kid. I think he would have felt safer with a woman. Like how they have women cops with female rape victims.
Update:I have noticed this is getting comments about it needing to be the opposite gender to the abuser, I fully agree and I dont think my comment says I disagree with this I was addressing in this situation its a male victim of a male abuser and though the cop is meaning well especially putting his hand on him like that can make the situation worse. Trigger ptsd etc since he was abused by a man. I know women and girls coming forward is more common (though many still dont come forward) so they seem to know put female sexual abuse or even just normal abuse victims with female cops if their abuser (in most cases is) a man. This boy was abused by a man they sent in a man cop knowing there is a good chance the gym teacher abused him which doesnt make sense though he meant well it seems like they didnt take into account it could be triggering especially touching his shoulders like that. Normally that kinda touch is consoling but not to a victim of sexual abuse if that makes sense.
I didnt clarify because I was kinda commenting on this specific situation. I brought up female victims of male abusers because I was referencing how they often know to give them a female cop and they didnt do that here.

More commonly men sexually abuse more than women (though it does happen and in more ways than one just like when men abuse) regardless of gender of victim. I just meant in this particular situation they suspected a male abuser so it would make more sense to send in a female cop. Im with you guys on that but I was just pointing out that it would be hard if assaulted by a man for a man to be putting their hands on you like that. Though he is trying to help it can cause ptsd reactions. In this case they already knew the coach was suspected to be hurting and the boy had already been talking about how the man had gotten to him. Before they sent the cop in however they knew it was a big possibility that the teacher had assaulted him too.
I honestly wish more cops/social workers/ etc thought about these things. Yes the person could ask but sometimes its hard to ask and him being as young as he was still at an age where hes hit puberty but still young and being the killer I think that wasnt taken into consideration. The cop was being very sympathetic though doing his best of course I just think from the boys perspective that could be quite intimidating and triggering to put his hands on him like that.

As a survivor, it’s so important to see those in authority (the police) believing the survivor. More often than not we don’t think we will be believed so we say nothing - add to that our perpetrators threatened us into silence.
We live with what was done to us all our lives. Every day.

@@UXWJ Yes. Very true. Currently a longtime friend is incarcerated for this very reason. I’ve known him 30-plus years and never had reason to doubt his innocence. All but one of the charges against him were dropped since no evidence was found that satisfied the court. One charge against him is what is keeping him there for years to come.

I wouldn't even want to know what goes on in anyone's head to commit such a stomach churning crime against children or vulnerable people any age. I've had several friends in and out of the military who confided in me about there experiences. Nicest people you ever want to meet, to hear there heartbreaking real life events and to see how far they've gone, overcoming the pain and suffering, there strength and character, its incredible and I have the utmost respect. One of my friends tried to end his life but by gods grace I was able to get to him in time to calm him and get him the help he needed. That's why I could never have worked at a state prison facility, I didn't want to know how much restraint it would take me to not...... but I'd be perfectly fine to be occupied as inmates who have children got a good workout.

As horrible as this situation is, the kid actor is phenomenal in this.
The moment he says he wants to talk to his lawyer, anything said is inadmissible because it is under duress and without the presence of his attorney.
This is how you lose cases in real life.

There’s lots of things you might need a lawyer for. Any legal stuff you can go to a lawyer for advice. Some people find it easier to just have a lawyer they go to and that becomes “their lawyer”.

As a training police officer, quite a few things are illegal here. I'm from London so perhaps British Law differs from American Law here... but regardless, when a 'victim' commits a crime such as criminal damage, it is illegal for a police officer to link a testimony of another person's guilt to the crime the victim just commit and say that they won't be prosecuted for criminal damage if they talk about the pedophile otherwise, it encourages biased testimonies for the criminal damage offendee to talk about the pedophile regardless of if its true or false. They may encourage the Criminal damage offendee to talk but they mustn't link them talking to a guaranteed reduce sentence because it isn't their place to say those things.
Secondly, police officers are not allowed to threaten a person that if that person doesn't talk to them now, that it will reflect negatively on their court trial - the safest and most appropriate thing to do is always to talk to one's lawyer and that should never and will never be seen as an admission of guilt, it is just a person's right on arrest. The only time when a person's refusal to speak is damaging to them is in court.
British law is the same in this context.
American law is EXTREMELY different, we will even give already incarcerated criminals deals for talking about their cellmates, which has lead to many a false arrest but still isn't blanket illegal, I believe, and you can 100% trade not prosecuting for info on different crimes and they regularly use that sort of thing to get their Confedential Informants, even, who are basically double agents and notoriously unreliable
And cops not only will tell you not talking looks bad on you, they are legally allowed to lie to you about the evidence and even lie about letting you go if you tell them XYZ.
Even though every lawyer in America will tell you not to talk without a lawyer, over 80% of people interrogates waive that right anyway because cops are only required to tell you that you have the right to but are in no way required to acknowledge that it'd be better for you and actively dissuade and manipulate you out of it.
Highly suggest John Oliver's recent piece on Interrogation to see just how unreliable even confessions are in America because of how manipulative our police are permitted to be and to watch something on our police CI's, our system is trash.
I’m pretty sure one thing here is that any evidence this guy reveals to them if they continue questioning after he has invoked his right to a lawyer can be inadmissible in court. So the cop telling him the other guy’s story will be “set in stone” as pressure for him to reveal more information after the accused asks to speak to his lawyer is unhelpful in actually getting a useable confession.
Also, the cop walking in and saying “we know, ok, we’re well past that” could be him completely making up evidence they don’t have and means nothing. Interrogations in America are very manipulative.

I am a victim of sa when I was 9-14. My family was so tight-lipped about this stuff. It was wrong to speak up. To tell someone. I told my grandmother and she literally told me to never speak of this again. I know this kind of pain but for real. I’m messed up because of it. I have no idea how I can get past it as an adult when my young life I was taught it was bad to talk. I was disowned by my family when I came out as gay. The real kicker… am I gay because of him or am I gay because that’s who I am. That question lingers in my head like a plague.
Please seek help. You don’t want to carry this with you into the rest of your life. I don’t speak from experience or anything. However, I don’t think anyone deserves to have to shoulder something that was inflicted on them by adults, people you were supposed to trust. Much strength to you. 💕

Something similar happened in my school back in 2008 and this school is in Chicago! Our gym teacher was having a relationship with a 16 yr old and some of us who had class with her had to be questioned. It felt so weird not knowing what was going on and then finding out what was going on while everything seemed like a typical school day. We never saw that girl again and our teacher was fired, made a plea deal and now a registered sex offender. He was a new father and his wife as since divorced him because she didn't want her child around him unsupervised and not cheat her out of a childhood because of something her sick father did.

I am thankful, my mother gave all she could to keep me and my brother safe from this kind of sickening cruelty. Even more thankful, I have a teachers that are fighting against this kind of abuse towards children to give them hope and justice they deserve.
My teachers organisation is well known here in Australia and it has been very successful in changing the laws to give victims and survivors everything they deserve to get justice and rebuild thier lives. Including in changing the laws of taking everything away from the abusers and anyone who dares to try to protect the abusers.
This organisation has fought against child abuse for ten years and still fighting strong to make a difference in hope to prevent future victims.
