    I'm new to the Lego city-building community and somewhat confused about the MILS road plates. This really helped me a lot!

    This is perfect! Way better and less expensive than MILS

    Fantastic idea, that is a great alternative to the MILs system. I love how shiny your city is.

    I like your road concept very much. I’m going to try it myself.

      Thanks! It’s been working well for me. I just wish I had more space to expand in all directions.

    hmm love this system. Trying to figure out how to make a 4 way intersection to fit my current layout of the city

    Personally I just prefer using the old roadplates with the modulars. I don't like the shiny look of the new ones and they're also quite narrow. With the old road plates I can also have a wide sidewalk with trees going in the middle and I like that.

    Certainly works. Worth taking into consideration. However, as I’ve ye to start my city I’ll probably go the MILS route as I’ve figured out a way of doing the roads that includes the cycle paths as well. Great stuff though none the less. Kudos.

    Excellent idea, which is very pragmatic. It is also similar to what I was starting to develop for my city. I never liked mils for my city that’s just going to stay in my home.

    I have watched a lot of videos on MILS plates and I prefer the ones where the buildings are a little higher than the road and where they make the road wider.

    Trying configurations like this are fun to do. And give nice street sights. Especially from minifigure heights 👁👁👍

    Ok so I have started to implement this into my Lego Street on a shelf, it takes my street to a whole......nother.......Level 😱
    It looks so flipping good!

    If I understand it correctly, you just put those buildings with their baseplate on the bigger baseplate with a lot of 2x2 plates?

      Yes, that’s correct. 😊

    Great video. Good idea..but is MILS plate more stable than this when it comes to moving and lifting it up from the table set up? Just curious.. I’m also just starting to build my city.

    This is incredible.
    I have a question 🤔
    If you were to have these plates displayed on a 32 deep shelf with the roads over hanging the shelf, how is the structural integrity of the plate? Will it droop down or can it support its on weight plus a vehicle or two? Know what I mean? These plates would compliment my setup perfectly!

    • @thegreenbrick
      @thegreenbrick  Год назад +1

      Thanks! Well, I tried it and found there to be drooping, unfortunately, since the baseplate is so flexible. If you could manage it so that half of the road plate hangs off, then there’s no droop (even with cars on the road). If your shelf is 32 studs wide though, then that would make your Modular’s hang off by 8 studs in the back.
      I actually plan on having my city on shelves. That’s why I made guard rails on my road plates. 🙂

    • @8BitPasta
      @8BitPasta Год назад

      @@thegreenbrick That's good to hear, I actually have open back shelves so I can push them back a few studs so I get that extra support in the front. Your plate design is brilliant and I can't wait to implement it with my modulars. I'll post up some photos when it's done on my IG.
      Thank You TGB 🙏🙌🙌

    I just bought my first modular and yet to build it, but I’ve decided to build it on a MILS plate from the off so that I can move it about easily. I that a good idea?

    • @thegreenbrick
      @thegreenbrick  Год назад

      It will be parts intensive if you plan to MILS everything including roads. Aside from that, I have nothing against the system. I do agree with the ease of moving around.

  • @roymoseley4272
    @roymoseley4272 2 месяца назад

    Do the road sections fix to the 48 stud baseplate? I don't see any of the light grey baseplate at the front below the road plates. I'm obviously missing something.

    • @thegreenbrick
      @thegreenbrick  2 месяца назад

      Yes, the road pieces are attached to the large 48x48 baseplate. So 32 studs for the building and 16 studs for the roads. 🙂
