Maaaan, your city is wonderful! I'm just starting on my Lego city journey and it looks like I'm going to have similar space limitations to you. This video was really inspiring. I bought a bunch of the new road plates and have been wondering how best to integrate them. It's definitely something along these lines, thank you!
You could put the lane markers in the middle of two road plates to make a really wide road. Then the curb on the edge won't be as much of a problem. There's not really enough space in your current city but it's an option for those who want a large road easy.
I have a few questions: 1) I'm assuming your city is on MILS plates? 2) I really like the look of the Light Bluish Gray for the sidewalks, would it be okay if I did that as well in my city?
I use a modified MILS technique. I’ll post a video demonstrating this soon. And of course, you can use light bluish gray sidewalks. I think it looks more natural.
@MrBookieboo the reason that they use dark bluish grey is because they use the same material as their roads in Billund, Denmark, and the designers who live there are just imitating what they know. In North america, we have lighter sidewalks, so we view it as more natural. Thanks for the permission to copy you, though! I'm still early enough in my building that I can definitely do that! My city is only 4.5 baseplates long at the moment, with 1.5 baseplates being a moc I made.
