Heyyy Iris... Hope your doing well... I've watched this video 5 times now and it low-key keeps making more sense every single time 😭😭 One thing tho, where have you been???!? I'm eating my food alone! Come back and make more content please??? I actually had an idea of like maybe doing a talk/discussion video online with 3-5 of your subscribers? Obviously Software development related and planned... Just an idea I had in mind since not many creators gave it a go!

Thank you for sharing your life experience. I really appreciate what you are doing.
But honestly your life is fascinating and is scaring to as an introvert. I am also 26 and I started learning software engineering since last year. Now I see a lot of opportunities in tech work, life, career perso al time etc.
What I liked in all of your videos I actually witnessed you are living your life fully.
Once I've read "We see the world not as it is but as we are".
Please, could you make a video about 3 main things in your life that drives you to live your life fully. I do love philosophical questions, I hope you too.

Hi bro, i want to ask you a couple of doubts that I've got about the tech industry and coding. I read your comment and I realized that you dragged yourself into the tech industry by starting learning code on your own and honestly that's something that calls my attention. So, by way of comparison, do you think that the tech industry is head-squared by just hiring people who study a system engineering or can I get a job just by learning through a course coding and get a job in the industry? And if that's possible what do you recommend me to learn to get a job in the industry?
I'd really appreciate your answer, my best wishes to you.

I'm a graduand in Software Engineering and I thought about being a digital nomad when I finish my degree. The thing that really puts me off is that I don't see myself traveling alone. If I ended up in a relationship in which we both had the oportunity to work remotely & she agreed, I would totally go digital nomad, but I consider that this would be a stroke of luck.

Hi Ivan! 😊 Thank you for commenting! I know that a lot of people are hesitant for the same reason, they don't want to travel alone - which is super understandable.
Trust me when I say though that once you step outside your comfort zone and just start by yourself, you will meet so many amazing people on your way that you will most likely never be alone. It's very easy to make friends as a digital nomad because so many people are traveling alone, too :)
And with relationships it is the same deal, once you get to know people in the digital nomad community, there are so many awesome people out there who are looking for the same as you ☺️
If you are not traveling you're usually not surrounded by a lot of people who follow the digital nomad lifestyle that's why it's hard or not likely that you will randomly fall in love with someone who can travel for work too (though not impossible!) - My point is once you make the first move and start traveling you will meet an abundance of great people who have the same lifestyle!

Hi, that's great that you were brave enough and decided to become a digital nomad, it's awesome. I'm thinking about trying it out, but I'm not sure that I'll manage to work 9 to 5 and travel in the meantime. I'm wondering how many hours you work per week?

Not sure if It's acceptable and appropriate, but I am sending you one big virtual hug. I have experienced feelings of insufficiency and have marked myself as failure, as it is one of the struggles, that software developers need to overcome. There is too much of technologies and skills everyone needs to master, to be "enough" for the company and himself. Not sure though if your feelings were work related, if so my method for overcoming these times was to push through and wait for the feelings to go away. Have a great day Iris.

Great video! I agree totally that it depends on the person. I'm the kind of person that hates the logistics of travelling and wants to be settled in a place. For me starting working remote as software dev allowed me to stop living in a city I didn't want just for a job and to have more control on my time. I think the most important part all of this is about knowing yourself and designing your life accordingly. Btw best of luck for the mental breakdowns, it happens to all of us... I guess it's life :/

Excellent video, rich of valuable insights! I am a digital nomad myself and I can relate to what you said in many ways. From the many points one could address, I pick up the following. The digital nomad life is not for everyone, actually is only for few people. But for those few people, this is possibly the only life possible: a 9-5 regular job life would feel like a cage, and this is possibly what you were expressing in other terms at the start of this video. However, for a lot of people this necessity may be completely inexplicable. With time I noticed that I can relate much easier with people living as digital nomads since they have a personality much more alike to mine.
Second point: there will always be people ready to drag you down and downplay your life and achievements. Always. These are in general people who failed in fulfilling their own aspiration and so they try to bring you on the same ground as some sort of consolation. The solution is super-easy: ignore them, and use your precious time to relate with positive, supporting people. There is no need to waste time on negative people.
You are doing great, Iris, keep it going! 🙌

Nice video. I also experience that some people don't really believe I work a real job. I am a 19 year old, self-taught mobile Developer and I am currently working 20h for a remote company. Reason is mainly that I want to gain experience and travel.
Some people laugh at me when I say I work 20h whenever and wherever I want but I really enjoy the freedom it gives me. Also I still live with my parents so I don't really need the money 😅.
The video definitely shows some problems and downsides I already faced xD

Hi Andreas, thank you for sharing your experience! I totally get you, it can be annoying to deal with people who don't believe you have a "real" job. Don't ever let them discourage you 😊 I think you are doing amazing! Honestly, working 20h is GOALS because you work enough to gain experience but at the same time you have so much more freedom than other people who are working full time! All the best 💪🏼☺️

The dangers of moving too quickly section is way too real. People don't realize how physically and mentally taxing it is merely to change locations (hotel or AirBNB checkout, making sure you have all your stuff, dealing with the airport, flying, the train, whatever mode of transport you take, checking into a new place). There have been plenty of times being a part-time digital nomad where I've had to sit down to work after doing all that or in the midst of doing all that and had to work through the exhaustion that naturally comes with all that moving around.

Hi, iris i love your content and the transparency that you transmit through your videos. It's awesome. I wanted to ask you something. Do you think that for getting a job in the coding industry is obligated to study system engineering or is the industry open for those ones who decided to study it on their own?
Btw, i do really like your content and you've just got a new subscriber. A bear hug and the best wishes for you.

Hi there 😊 Thank you for commenting, I appreciate your kind words and I'm glad you enjoy my content!
Regarding your question: no, it is not obligatory to have a degree in order to be come a developer, I know a lot of people working in the industry who are self-taught! As long as you can prove that you have the same knowledge and can code it is possible to find a job. However, it is a lot of work to teach yourself and can take a long time. Hope that answers your question! :)

Hi David! Thank you for commenting :) Technically if you want to be a backend developer you only need to know backend languages, however, most programmers know at least the basics of HTML and CSS as it is considered "general knowledge" in the dev world and having different skillsets on your resume will increase your chances of getting hired. But you definitely don't need to be a pro in these. Hope that helps!
