thanks, concise and useful as usual ) I want to try my first highline this autumn and I have one more trouble to cope with it's the last centimeters before the end of the line, I'm quite comfortable now with my 30 m tubular not very tense line but the last centimeters... ))) any tips on that would be very much appreciated
Simply don't walk them... Because on highlines the first and last meters are not safe! Very strong highliners sometimes walk the highlines to the end, but even there I've seen some failing and hitting their head. I've seen someone sending a 800m highline and hitting the head on the rock on the last meter because he was to confident... So better simply don't walk that part. For the park: The last meter is very static. So similar to a short line with the dynamics. So you have to change your tactics. On this part you should rather be standing on one foot instead of both feet.
@@SlacktivityCh Dean was the man, it's seems like he never used a backup and he pulled his line super tight, he also walked all the way to the anchors.
Hey Samuel!! In this video you said to practice on a nylon line (I’m thinking of buying this material) but this guy (who’s mentoring me and getting me on a highline) told me not to buy nylon webbing because it’s impossible to set up at a park because of how much slack there is. Is that true?? Thank you :D Btw I really love all your videos, you’ve helped me out sooooo much and you’re my favorite slack liner XD Hope to get on a highline and keep progressing :)
Hi! Depending on the distance you want to set up your line you're definitely better off with polyester (for 30m or 40m+ lines). At the same time, nylon is already really playful on short distances. So for the park if you wanna have a nice, bouncy feeling up to 30m length, go for nylon. For longer lines in the park, go for polyester. For Highlines up to 50m go for nylon - also because falling on nylon is much softer! And yeah, nylon is definitely way harder to tension compared to polyester
Don't catch. Whip. Much better on your body if you go head first. I messed my elbows up after catching hundreds and hundreds of times. Plus whipping is fun! :)
Thanks for information
This is brilliant , your explaining things about this sport Ive never seen on other channels .
That was so helpful!!! :)
