  • You’re not alone if your first response to the famous Black Square painting is “my child could have painted this”. First revealed by Russian artist in Kazimir Malevich in 1915, it caused outrage. Now it’s viewed as one of the world’s most important paintings. To explore why it’s such a big deal, ABC The Mix reporter Eloise Fuss speaks with Australian performance artist Mike Parr, contemporary artist William Kentridge, and filmmaker/artist Saskia Boddeke.
