Best description of my injury to date. I got mine bowling and I'm sure it was from badly fitted shoes. I had the leg checked out and that was the only damage. The first night when that muscle cramped and woke me with severe pain was the worst. You described the foot slap exactly so now I know the cause. Believe me, those two exercises become my routine before bowling, along with far better shoes that have more give.
Mines acting up when I put a sock on, shoe and get into bed using my left leg. Which may be aggravated by my ford ranger clutch and possibly emergency brake as well or it could be the brake and not the clutch. It feels like it's too short and wants to tear pretty sure it is that muscle or tendon. I have a bicycle knee injury on that same leg too from 20 years ago.
Nobody is talking about how tight the gastrocs get and if there's weakness on front of ankle it throws off posture.. the muscles do not work alone they have 360 degrees of other muscles also reacting to what is happening

I don't run and ended up with this. I have trouble sleeping at night cause I tend to sleep in a curled position which seems to make it worse.
How do you do heel walks if I can't lift my foot up off the ground?
