Randi Lacey magnificent creature. Sensible human beings for staying quiet and letting the Elephant do what he wanted - eat the fruit that he had managed to shake out of the trees (Winter Thorn, I think - like pop corn to an Elephant).
the entire time, it is ibvious that blue coat is a complete idiot. but i really made up my mind about that at 4 minutes. shortly after the bull bucks at them, she does move back a bit. but then at the 4 m mark, as the bull has gotten closer, she walks briskly over to the guy on the left. and the bull actually tracks her. unbelievable. she pretty much broke every "rule" in the book right there. Too close. Turned your back. Walked very fast directly in front of him... and on and on.
Not being as smart as an elephant, these people don't seem to realize he's asking for something to eat. Hunger finally forces him to the next picnic table.
@Tman D i think its more that they get too close for comfort, and all it takes is for a tourist (such as a young child) to get scared because they don’t understand what its doing, the elephant will start getting agitated because they might be freaking out and that could provoke an attack. Also god forbid if they approach the cars or campsites of poachers hoping for a free snack.

Cool, calm and collected. Quiet too. You read the Elephant’s mood absolutely correctly - chilled. Ignore the over excited chatter of others, who clearly have watched too much melodrama, on the Walt Disney Channel.
Elephants show their dominance by trying to push down trees to show their strength, aswell and the wetness coming from his temples which shows he was in musk and the fact that he mock charged them, shows that they are lucky. He was quite calm in that sense but I would of backed off a long time ago if I were those tourists
Many an animal has been killed by Park Rangers for attacking people as stupid as these people. What a waste of beautiful animals ....by people.....that do not leave them alone in the wild.
First comment that kept things in perspective: Vibes are everything. (Then again Timothy Treadwell thought he knew grizzlies inside and out and ended up - well, inside of one.)
You never have peanuts ready for these wonderful creatures, he would have loved some poured on the table for him . Then walk backward.. No peanuts no happy!
I fell asleep drinking wine on the sandy edge of the bay in Assateague Island. I snapped out of it to see a big brown animal with a big brown eye standing next to me staring down into my green eyes. I smiled and said "hiii". The steed of the band answered me and turned to follow the others that had gone without my noticing. Later he came back to dump my container of coffee on the ground.
These people have no clue. The fact that they all flinched when he shook his head shows that they thought they could run for cover if he turned nasty. Wouldn't have been pretty.
How do some people even make it into adult-hood being that stupid? That elephant was in musth , which can make them 6 times as aggressive as normal. You can tell from the fluid coming out of the sides of his head. He was probably in pain as well.
Gentleman elephant. He just came for his vegetation and humans were in his way. He still kept to himself and did not touch their stuff. We humans have a lot to learn. Those campers need to learn a thing or two about animal behavior. The lady did not see that spread ears meant he is not happy. Lucky, no one got hurt

Those people were as stupid as dirt. Walking around and so much movement completely changed the mood of the elephant. Except for the woman, AT FIRST, she stood still. Like the person said below; and people wonder why tourists get killed. It should be MANDATORY for people going on safaris to watch a "what to do when" scenarios come up film BEFORE they go on safari. Even those going in by vehicle. Or, at least as many they could dart and catch to make them watch.....it's as though they don't even have a basic understanding of animal behavior. My dog is smarter than these people.
There was one person with an ounce of common sense, who stopped staring and moved away when the elephant responded. The woman with the camera is lucky to be alive.
Exactly! They should have stayed perfectly still the whole time. What I would give to have that encounter on my trip, but I never would have moved around like that and at one point, you should put down the camera and enjoy the best experience of your life! There was obviously no guide here or if there was, he/she failed their job. I did have an ele sneak up behind me out of nowhere while I was squatting in the bush. I stood up and was 2 ft away from a bull passing through. I don't think I even breathed, I just froze. Saw the wiry hairs on his trunk. He eyed me for a minute but thankfully he was just headed to the water beyond the bush and I was lucky. If I'd moved around like these fools, no doubt I'd have startled him and would have been severely injured or dead.
Tutto vero , le persone devono studiare gli animali prima di avventurarsi in situazione simile, non si rendono conto di quando pericolo corrono, ignorano totalmente l'intelligenza degli animali e il loro territorio di cui tutelano...
Dark Cloud - An impassioned Comment and so judgemental. When was the Elephant’s mood change? He seemed perfectly chilled, cool calm and collected throughout. He came looking for snacks, found them, ate them and left. Out of curiosity - How many Safaris have you done, roughly ........ ?
That elephant was in musth. Those people are very lucky that was an old bull and not a young one, or that encounter would have been disastrous. Even so, they were still taking a huge gamble with their life.
You guys got guys, but did u know that bull is in musth and can become dangerous any moment, especially when you are in front of him. Moreover he seems a very good mannered guy.
NEVER DO THIS! The bull is picking up nuts. If people feed wild animals, then people will become targeted for food. If animals learn to get food from tourists, they stop foraging for their natural dietary fare and tourists become endangered when they don't offer food. Plus the animals can get really sick, 'Hey look he's eating the Doritos!' You know idiots would try giving them all kinds of stuff!
A person who has good patience can enjoy the beautiful environment. Similarly, seeing elephants becomes dangerous only if you see the suffering of the animals.
You can call them stupid but fact is, we live on the same planet as they do. I thought they showed a lot of respect to the elephant and vice versa. My opinion is, The elephants should fear humans enough to stay away from us. That being said, it is our job to protect them from poachers.
All those people became brazen after a while, especially the woman in the blue top and the man who fetched something off the table - acting like this is a normal every day situation! It can go from zero to drama in a split second! " dan sien die poppe dans!"
I don't know why these folks gawking at elephant don't have a few big juicy sweet watermelons with which they could leave on ground for ELEPHANT. These poor creatures are HUNGRY & THIRSTY!
Then ppl will become targets for food. Look at the 'Dont Feed the Bears' laws at Yellowstone National Park in the USA. Trying to push over trees wasn't enough hint for these tourists, but seeing that startled reaction should have clued them in. MAN!! I hope that they look back at their actions & realize that their idiocy could have gotten them killed; that the only reason they're still alive is because of blind luck! Cripes sake!

The gender markers of this elephant make her reality clear. It is not only bulls that secrete fluid from their temporal glands, females do too: this elephant is not in Musth. The bull was interested in the lady with the blonde hair and then when they're really tall gentleman in Black walked beside her that's when the bull made the warning display. The fire definetly detered him. ❤🐘
I don't get what the elephant is doing with its trunk. It looks as if it was picking up food or water, but I didn't see it actually going into its mouth. Maybe the action had a meaning, perhaps a warning.
Movements typical for a bull in musth. A clear sign is the fluid running from the sides of his head. They were incredibly lucky. They have no idea how dangerous the situation was. The reasonable thing would have been to get into the car. The running around with the camera was stupid and could have gottem them killed.
4:11 guy at right stoops to adjust or turn off calor gas cooker... could have caused bush fire if knocked over 😳. Do these people think they’re in a petting zoo? Then, woman feeds their campfire - does she think that will keep a bull elephant calm?
No issue with tourists. Issue is when human behaviour is utterly inconsiderate and disrespectful. Firstly respect the laws of the country you visit. Secondly respect the laws of the game parks and reserves you visit. Thirdly as a humans... respect the animals....give them their space. Should something happen...oh it becomes a tragedy and all media sensation is let loose. There were many lions and other animals put down...why? Because of humans. You say you love nature...really now ? Respect nature first !!!
@@boa9535 you see that a fluid is running out from his sides? This is a clear sign of musth. They were incredibly lucky. They have no idea. The reasonable thing would have been to get into the car.
No he wasn't. His penis wasn't even out and there was no dribbling from it. Elephants excrete fluid from their temporal lobes for lots of reasons, Musth is just one time but female elephants do it too. It can be a sign of excitement, emotion, or during heightened sexual periods. He could have just come from an encounter with another bull or a group of females. He was not aggressive at all and bulls in musth would not have been this calm and their penis would be nearly touching the ground and dribbling.
I can't believe that the rangers allow the tourists to do this. Yes elephants see tourists on a daily basis and can be very tolerant but they remain huge animals and can kick you out in a matter of seconds. How irresponsible from these tourists to come that close.
The elephant talks by gesticulating with its trunk. The elephant is simply asking people if they have something to eat like peanuts. Note that the elephant is not grabbing something on the groud to put in its mouth. The elephant is gesticualting the question.

I have read through all the comments before posting mine. Sadly no one has highlighted the cause for this confrontation. This I believe must be a designated camping site. People using such sites should thoroughly clear the place of any left over food and take back with them any garbage when the leave. Any leftover food (even spills) or garbage can attract animals. Elephants are good at memory and may return to the spot if they have once found food there. The conduct of one irresponsible camper can put the lives of subsequent campers in great danger. Imagine the state if repeated campers are irresponsible. I suspect that must be the case here for the elephant to visit the site. I have watched few more similar videos on RUclips and believe so is the case with some of you. Wildlife experts recommend watching these creatures from a safe distance (which seems natural) so that they don't loose the fear of humans. If they do, then they become more dangerous to humans and vulnerable to poachers. Those who want a closer look should visit a circus or a zoo (where the animals are restrained and are familiar with humans) and not a wildlife safari.
Your post started out really thoughtfully, encouraging people to take home their garbage and to think about the consequences of their actions on animals and the environment, I thought how respectful you were being and then you go and spoil it all by encouraging people to visit zoos and circuses #CaptivityKills
NO ZOOS or CIRCUSES!!!! IF u cannot respect Nature, the animals + THEIR habitat, watch RUclips! I personally do NOT endorse captivity for anything wild, except for bugs or such...Mammals are meant 2B FREE!!!

If this had been a bull, the tusk that remains visible (her right one) would have been much thicker. The gender markers of this elephant make her reality clear. (While bulls do secrete during Musth, females also secrete from their temporal glands.)
At 03:18, she unfurls her trunk to say "Leave!" but the people don't listen. That is one of their "Go away!" gestures.
Wow, just wow!! Obviously the elephant is in musth and unpredictable, these people were taking such a big chance...wonder if thrill-seeking mentality trumps all common sense.."nuts" as the speaker says...that fire in the end did the trick I guess
Max Po totally in musth bless him
You will notice the locals don't take such foolhardy risks.
Der Gorghast it is in must you can tell by the liquid coming from its skin
When that lady started throwing the wood and they lite the fire, my heart sank.
That Elephant is in musk. And could easily taken that as a challenge!
They could have been savaged by that dude on a whim if he wanted too.
IF he had been in MUSTH, he would have been even more aggressive. I think he was smelling + looking for food.

She was simply foraging, and wanted them to leave.
Magnificent creature; foolish humans.
Randi Lacey magnificent creature. Sensible human beings for staying quiet and letting the Elephant do what he wanted - eat the fruit that he had managed to shake out of the trees (Winter Thorn, I think - like pop corn to an Elephant).
If I ever go there, I'm taking extra knickers, cause that right there would cause a need for for a spare. Lol
If I'd been the elephant I would've booted that van just to let them know how pissed off I was at their stupidity!
They are plan crazy elephant's are wild and dangerous i live in America .
That lady with the big feet is really tempting fate, being so close with that camera. What a fool.
the entire time, it is ibvious that blue coat is a complete idiot. but i really made up my mind about that at 4 minutes. shortly after the bull bucks at them, she does move back a bit. but then at the 4 m mark, as the bull has gotten closer, she walks briskly over to the guy on the left. and the bull actually tracks her. unbelievable. she pretty much broke every "rule" in the book right there. Too close. Turned your back. Walked very fast directly in front of him... and on and on.
I would quietly get as far as I can behind a huge tree if possible. Those tourist's are nuts
He could have injured them by mistake, just swatting a fly!
Very handsome and intelligent elephant!
Not being as smart as an elephant, these people don't seem to realize he's asking for something to eat. Hunger finally forces him to the next picnic table.
Thankfully they realized it wouldn’t be a good idea to feed him.
This elephant was not asking for food: she (not a bull) was foraging, and simply wanted them to leave. Feeding wildlife teaches animals to look to man for food, which causes trouble. Never feed wildlife.
WOW!!! What a BEAUTIFUL 🐘 Those people were so 🍀 he didn’t charge them.
I am an South African and they were reckless !Elephants can be dangerous !
Wow... Can't believe something this big and beautiful is walking this earth. #🐘
Ppl see table and chairs as a barrier between ellie and them , ! ! !very funny ! ! !
These people would do the same thing around dinosaurs.. lets be real! Too much tv
The people did well in remaining calm, most courageous was that lady. Elephant just came along to meet the people, no need to panic.
Hello 👋 Anna
How are you doing today
This really puts into perspective how big elephants actually are. He's bigger than the van next to him.
Elegant and majestic.
Nice letting the car engine run and run and run as a sign of respect for the elephant and its home.
Seamos respetuosos de la vida, asi cómo este amable elefante
Gentleman elephant. He just came for his vegetation and humans were in his way. He still kept to himself and did not touch their stuff. We humans have a lot to learn. Those campers need to learn a thing or two about animal behavior. The lady did not see that spread ears meant he is not happy. Lucky, no one got hurt
Truly that lady was so courageous and stayed calm while the men backed off. Elephant sensed secure with her and then the men!!!!! Hats off to you ma'am for keeping everyone calm and controlled the situation....
I LOATHE THIS CELL PHONE GENERATION!
THE GO TO A PLACE LIKE THIS,GET OUT OF THEIR VEHICLE AND START RECORDING!
IT'S THE SAME AT ANY CONCERT OR EVENT AS WELL!
ALL OVER THE WORLD THERE HAVE BEEN REPORTS OF CHILDREN DYING BECAUSE THE ADULT WAS ON THEIR DAMN PHONE.NOT TO MENTION THE PEOPLE GETTING KILLED TRYING TO GET "SELFIES" IN RIDICULOUS SITUATIONS! AND THOSE THAT WALKED INTO TRAFFIC,I'LL REPEAT THAT PEOPLE HAVE WALKED INTO TRAFFIC BECAUSE THEY WERE PREOCCUPIED WITH AN OBSESSION!THIS WAS EVEN BEFORE THE POKEMON CRAZE!!
MAYBE I WAS BORN TOO LATE,MAYBE I M JUST TOO OLD.MAYBE A CELL PHONE SHOULD BE TREATED AS JUST THAT....A CELL PHONE...S.M.H.
@@giuseppetrita9880 Esatamente!
That's as close to seeing a dinosaur as you are going to get. Unless they clone some in future.
Oh such a majestic animal ❤
Hello 👋 lorrie
How are you doing today
Where was the dancing part?
Gentle Giant ! 💖
@Der Gorghast No. He is definitely in musth. You can see traces of urine on his hind legs and gland secretion from his head.!!!
Awesome majestic elegant creatures
Always be nice with elephant and give him some food and apples he will be happy.
Elephants are fascinated, curious, and friendly. .... I want to go there
look for the friendliness you a younger bull in musth with testosteron swollen guts.
Are you really that stupid?
The elephant was hungry
You don't feed wild animals it makes them to trusting of humans. That's how the get poached. Murdered slaughtered
Then ppl will become targets for food. Look at the 'Dont Feed the Bears' laws at Yellowstone National Park in the USA. If animals learn to get food from ppl they stop foraging for their natural dietary fare & ppl become endangered when they don't have enough or the right kind of snacks. Plus the animals can get really sick, 'Hey look he's eating the Doritos!' You know ppl would try giving them all kinds of stuff!
😂 WHAT A MAGNIFICENT BULL ELEPHANT!!! 🥰😍😘🦣🐘 TRULY THE MAJESTIC GENTLE GIANT!!!💜💜💜🤎🦣🦣🩶🐘🐘💚🌳💦⛰️🌊 HE'S JUST AS CURIOUS ABOUT YOU ALL AS YOU ARE ABOUT HIM!!! LOL!!!😁😃🙋🏾🔥🙏🏾👑✝️📖🔥
Seems to me that all concerned were quite chilled out.
No drama.
🌿Gosto muito dos elefantes..... São muito inteligente 😃
What a marvelous animal
Он ждал угощений, воды, бананов, арбуза. Неужели трудно это взять всё с собой, благородный слон и самолюбивые люди, только чтобы нервы себе пощекотать👎, эх вы👍🐘💕👍💕
He looks like he's in full musth!
QUE CRIATURA LINDA QUE O NOSSO SENHOR DEUS CRIOU !!!!
Amen. More common sense than the hoomans.
The trunk to mouth trunk to mouth thing looks like he is telling them to feed him.
no, he was picking up nuts from the ground after shaking them from the tree.
This is beyond awesome.
It's not their tree it's the elephants tree it's just allowed them to sit round it.
@ 3:18, It's plain to see that something one of those people did make the bull startle a bit, doesn't even matter how small a gesture it was. Trying to push over trees wasn't enough hint for these tourists, but seeing that startled reaction should have clued them in. MAN!! I hope that they look back at their actions & realize that their idiocy could have gotten them killed; that the only reason they're still alive is because of blind luck! Cripes sake!
The uploader was mistaken: this is a female elephant. Female elephants have a relatively wide sheath that covers the opening of the birth canal, that hangs down and protects it from mud, dirt and injury. That is what we see here. People that don't study elephants don't realize that is what it is. See her straight forehead that corners toward the top of her head? See her gently curved jawline? See her thinner, shallower chest (spine to sternum), her girth that increases at her abdomen? A bull's chest is much thicker, not shallow; a bull's tusks are significantly thicker too, and I don't think a bull would have been so tolerant in this scene. The gender markers of this elephant make her reality clear. It is not only bulls that secrete fluid from their temporal glands, females do too: this elephant is not in Musth.
These people should not have been walking around: to be still is daring enough, but to be moving as they did, conveyed to her that they were unpredictable, and all animals know that humans are not trustworthy, which is why she told them to leave.
At 03:18, she unfurls her trunk to say "Leave!" but the people don't listen. That is one of their "Go away!" gestures. No one "removed" her tusks, they broke off. If this had been a bull, the tusk that remains visible (her right one) would have been much thicker.
African elephants' ears are usually in good shape. She does have a small hole in her left ear. It is usually the Asian elephants that suffer ear damage due to the abuse of those that force them to work.
इससे अधिक कोई शांत और समझदार बुध्दि मान जीव नहीं है
Those people need their heads examen!!! They love pushing there luck. CRAZY!!!
The bull was interested in the lady with the blonde hair and then when they're really tall gentleman in Black walked beside her that's when the bull made the warning display. The fire definetly detered him. ❤🐘
That lady was smarter, she put firewood to make the fire a bit more and that was the signal bull got and moved away. Lovely video.
I think l remember reading that in my GIRL SCOUT BOOK. Put and extra log on the fire ....to stop an ELEPHANT ATTACK. 🤪
Wow! These people were very trusting of that gigantic wild animal.
@@karsten9895 but they think it's worth it so they can put it on Facebook and brag some people have just got more money than sense.
the bull is picking up the nuts from the ground. He had shaken the tree before to shake them off.
Taking such a risk is utter imprudent because this bull is in musth.
Bimal Rathnagoda: How can you tell?
Plays well with others ! 👍💪💖
I can't believe that the rangers allow the tourists to do this. Yes elephants see tourists on a daily basis and can be very tolerant but they remain huge animals and can kick you out in a matter of seconds. How irresponsible from these tourists to come that close.
This place was awesome I recommend going there for vacation
The elephant talks by gesticulating with its trunk. The elephant is simply asking people if they have something to eat like peanuts. Note that the elephant is not grabbing something on the groud to put in its mouth. The elephant is gesticualting the question.
The elephant quite many time was putting his trunk into his mouth that’s his hungry and knew humans would feed him but that did not happen.
His posing well for the lady 🤩have you got all of me into the picture. !?
I believe water given to drink would help.
Elephant are very beautiful, intelligent and majestic creatures. 😍🥰🥰🥰❤️
The vehicle should be shut down they don’t like noise it’s n unpleasant sound around them.🙏

Someone should play them some live music. Harp, cello, or violin and see how they react.
this ele is hurting, he has a tooth ache and is hungry, he keeps telling them feed me feed me but they are not listening

Beautiful bull... he seems to be saying with his trunk...where's the food?😋😋
That noble giant is telling them to respect its space.
Please do it.
It's not so bad dying, doing what you love
REALLY!!! GO VISIT A CIRCUS OR ZOO??? WHERE THEY R STRAPPED DOWN!! REALLY?? What kind of IGNORANT BARBARIC F*CKING A-HOLE are you!! Beating and chaining animals into submission is hideous! Do you even know HOW they get these elephants in zoos and circus??? OBVIOUSLY NOT IDIOT! Do your homework moron!
He’s telling them he’s hungry
I’d be five miles away with a long range camera !!!
Слон так просил еды, показывая хоботом! И никто не дал ничего! Пожалели банан!
He was asking for Food!!!!
no, he was not. He was picking up nuts from the ground.
These tourists have least respect for nature of the Lords of the jungle. True blue showbiz.
Sonia Kanara its just ignorance
Turn the engine off. Give the ele peace!
They all start to relax when the picnic table is between them and the elephant. After all the elephant can't jump over the table - can he?
