now all we need is the ability to decapitate the zombies
I hope so tbh. If this happens blade and sorcery will become irrelevant.
dismemberment is never happening devs even said so
@@Amlik blade and sorcery will never become irrelevant, they are two different types of games
Gib update
No a shotgun
Brandon always stood out to me when he made videos back with Freddie I could never imagine he’d essentially become one of the biggest innovators for VR gaming, ever since I heard about Boneworks on Node I been itching for a VR setup to go crazy on this game
@@MichaelMusson-en7be
Is Freddie/RocketJump even still doing anything? They were doing short videos for a while, then tutorial stuff, then crappy podcast stuff, and now I haven't seen them in years.
First Last he makes Tik Toks
It's one of the big reasons I upgraded to an Index.
same
First Last Freddie’s trying to get some jobs and work in Hollywood. The problem is that the people in charge in Hollywood don’t give a shit about RUclips so Freddy had/has trouble.
This game just keeps on turning into nicer candy.
Launch without savepoints was sketchy but it took off running now.
tbh not having savepoints just forced me to get over the initial motion sickness. It was annoying when I ended up playing runoff like 3 times in the beginning but I'm able to enjoy playing hours on end now.
@@youdontneedtoknowthishandle This was my first game I played in vr at christmas. Really forced me to get over sickness XD
I never noticed that they didn’t have save point in the beginning, because I was just too good and never died 😎
@@BrutalCelt I was one of the few lucky ones. No motion sickness at all other then the part you launch through the air into the lobby of a building and have to fight like 7 null bodies. My first try on that. I fell over irl and once I saw the bull bodies legitimately shrieked and scampered to my feet. That was a mistake as I puked... glad that hasn't happened again.......
I was not even sick when I first played I just sweated for how many punches I gave to the zombies XD
this is how game development should be. I bet everyone there absolutely loves their job :)
Probably also one question do u shoot the patrol shooters or do u just bash them in the head with a rifle i do both
@@Stelaking757 excuse me what?
@@tbuck9008 i think they were talking about the omniprojectors
i think a shotgun added in the game will feel real good like a double barrel shotgun it will be good to reload it
Stop. Just wait and shut up
SpicyStuff1206 no, game boring without new weapons
@@ZOPPOLETTO hes literally suggesting an idea lol
I saw a shotgun in a trailer and was so hyped. Brandon said something on Reddit about how he is (or maybe just was idk) trying to implement shotguns. He also mentioned something about a crossbow, but I don't really see that coming any time soon.
i think it was in a trailer but they took it out cuz it didnt work with the physics or sumn
I've enjoyed boneworks so much, that I broke one of my VIVE controllers! Seriously, boneworks is my favorite VR game, like, ever.

I am extremely grateful to be alive at this moment and just to be able to play Boneworks. It is the absolute best game I've ever played and WILL ever play.
What about boneworks 2?
what about hl:a? or h3vr, or even project cars 2 vr if you're into that
@@-YELDAH hla is fantastic but theres its quite linear and controlled. If something is wonky or unreliable it was taken out. This is why we never got our crowbar. For this reason i love boneworks more because it screams sandbox freedom. You just kinda have to ignore the faults to enjoy the tons of things the game allows you to do.

Vr Cod zombies, sign me up
Stress level zero has the capability to make a story for a zombie story line, and constantly updating it, introducing a 4 player co op, the longevity of the will give it enough time for when people finally get into vr Bone works can be a must have for vr games.
You can actually play Der Rise in Pavlov :)
Pavlov Minecraft Zombies maps are the good shit.
@Jake Dante pavlov zombies was just atleast for me pretty janky and nothing really felt like i was impacting the zombies when they got shot.
@@treywilliams5163 Felt like I had an airsoft gun XD
@@treywilliams5163 so you're saying it's just like CoD zombies? 🤔
This will be the first game I buy when I get VR gear!
I highly recommend you play other games first to get used to VR, this game will make newcomers REALLY sick and hate VR lol. Its seriously meant for experienced players only. I don't usually get sick from anything at all, but if I stop playing VR for a while, coming back to boneworks can be very tiring.
@@TrendyWhistle good advice, thanks :)
@Alonso Reyes half life alyx would a better game to start with before boneworks
I recommend Windows Mixed Reality if budget is holding you back
Depends on your tolerance, I started with pavlov vr and swapped to beatsaber than boneworks, with alyx being my final (For now) one.
Never felt sick, Not even once. I did almost fall over though, So i got that going for me. lol
This games value has gone up exponentially since launch, and even at launch it was an incredible game
Every time he brings up a behind the scenes of a Boneworks implementation my mind is absolutely blown. What I wouldn't give to have Brandon be my math teacher.
I would play the HELL out of a well-made Go Go Gadget game! I loved that show as a kid, I used to have dreams about having his powers.
I'm loving the amount of love tha'ts going into this game, it's clear that you're making a game because you love pushing what games can do. That being said, if you continue to add to the game in the way that you riff about, I and i'm sure others would be happy to buy DLC to support you guys.
Keep up the good work guys
I don’t want dlc because i bought the game on the oculus store
GO GO GADGET VR
My man, get that IP license, you're really onto something here!
easy name: The MonoGlider™
(P.S Can you make an auto optimizer for the settings so I can run the game more smooth? if you can?"
Isaiah Angnakak That, or make a little hint about what the settings work on. For example: “warning, high CPU usage”
@@diceblock I'm pretty sure none of the graphics settings take any CPU resources
@@jonikril6493 well you can't just remove physics from boneworks...
i feel an outfit system would be fun, it could have outfit references to the earlier avatar for ford or the ford used in the steam comments art and it could be called the"MONO-DROBE" or something like that
Totally. They should take advantage of the fact that this is one of the few VR games where you can actually see your body.

What I love about Brandon and StressLevelZero is how they run things. It's clear throughout this video that Brandon had no idea Cameron was developing some of these new game elements, it shows that the developers at StressLevel aren't micromanaged and they are given the opportunity to be individually creative. I think it's fantastic and it results in some awesome updates that we wouldn't otherwise get if everyone was following a strict development program.
The mechanics of Boneworks continue to amaze me.
Really been wanting to play it lately, but one of my vive controllers stopped tracking completely. :(
Ordered index controllers to replace them, but they are backordered at least 8 weeks cuz of Covid.
At least I'll get the full feature set with the new controllers...
Mine stopped tracking a while ago but fixed it by swapping out the touch pad for a steam controller touch pad. If you have one it worth a try.
I just ordered the index as my first vr a couple days ago and it said 8 weeks as well :/
@@hwalnut7202 average actual wait time right now is 11 weeks
Conner LeMaster Glad I ordered when I did then
I am really glad to see these updates are coming out as free content. I would happily pay for DLC for more meatier features. Boneworks really shows off what VR is capable of.
I love that you guys are still working so hard on the game and releasing all this content even this many months after release. It's rare to see that kind of passion in the games industry. Keep it up :) ♥
I'll be a customer and a proud owner of Boneworks in less than an hour, and I wanted to take a second and tell you: It's amazing to see the updates coming along with these talks/interviews/insights. This one absolutely put me into the mood of getting the game asap!
Brandon. You’re the best. Wish you were still around the crew though.
4:34 aged like fine wine
YEP! lol
I dont even own a VR kit or Boneworks but love hearing about the updates and how passionate the whole team are about the game! I hope you guys continue to make games till you retire!
Boneworks is such a fantastic game and has so much potential. I'm really glad that you guys are continuing to expand upon the absolutely phenomenal foundation you've put together, because everything about that physics-based interaction is so god damn satisfying, from the gunplay, to the NPC reactions upon impact, to the climbing and things like ziplining. So fucking glad you guys are pressing forward and adding more to it all.
man i miss these kinds of updates, kinda wish there was more for bonelab, heck any other game
brandon, you are the coolest guy in town my dude
You guys really do some amazing work, I can't stop coming back to Boneworks when I'm in the mood to play some vr
Features that could make Boneworks even better: vehicles/transport, dismemberment, mind control, more ally npcs, npcs kick, desktop version, official multiplayer, new combat moves, shotguns (if you can do it with duck season then you can do it with boneworks), explosive weapons, flamethrower, npc reactions, and npcs that mimic and/or follow you in sandbox. Like the fords in dungeon and castle.
I don't think the desktop version is something they'd go for as they are VR Developers specifically (as in that's what they want to do), but I like everything else!
official multiplayer, dismemberment, desktop version, shotguns and explosive weapons are NEVER going too be added because its not there current focus or not possible to implement
I LOVE COD Zombies. This shit has me hyped. Boneworks pushed me to buy VR and it was freaking worth it. Keep up the good work.
PLEASE GOD GIVE ME INSPECTOR GADGET VR, BRANDON, I'M BEGGING YOU.
With voice control.
cant wait for BoneLab, looking back on these dev logs im loving the organization and pure love for the VR scape from SL0 keep it up guys!
I love your dev updates so much, Brandon.
As I am working on my own game, it's nice to hear similar experiences from someone who has already gone down the path.
Thank you for all that you do, and I hope that game development continues to fulfill your creative needs.
Can't wait to try it all out!
Sooooo......How's 1.6 coming along?
Never in my life would I expect to be added in an SLZ video.
Holy crap...
ya man
My valve index comes tomorrow and I’m so stoked for your game. Thanks for updating it!!!
YES!! I can't wait to play this new update. I absolutely love this game and can't wait for more amazing updates! You guys are doing an awesome job, thank you for blessing us with this game.
None of these guys got anything on freddie's typing skills
not even close
Boneworks is the only "full" VR game (not counting beat saber) that I really enjoy. I'd happily double dip on my payment for Boneworks if it could mean a great Boneworks 2.0 update with tons of new features!!
Try HL Alyx, its really worth the time and money!
You made my day, can't wait to play the update after work :D I also can't wait to show my friends who were big into COD zombies the new mode!
They way they talked about how the characters move and how it's all just physics based and not an actual animation is really fascinating. I would so love to see that kind of work be more refined and improved on in future titles. Not just from SLZ but from other developers. Really push the AI in video games.
Also I would LOVE to have an Inspector Gadget VR game with the voice commends. Being able to just say "Go Go Gadget Copter" and fly around would really make my day. Also saying "Go Go Gadget Legs" and see myself shoot straight up into the air with extendo-legs would really throw me into a loop.
`what does everyone think about adding multiplayer to the zombie mode ?
DIGITAL CHASER multiplayer would be really hard to implement for boneworks
@@josephi9219 **cough** **multiplayer mod** **cough** **cough**
@@poweringaccounttermination4026 that’s what I’m using as an example, if you watch a video of it you can see that it’s not that polished and only the host can interact with objects, hopefully soon the modders will create a polished one!
Hear me out, what if multiplayer was in Boneworks? I'm saying something like a Co-op mode for the story mode.
Well there actually is a very early co-op mod, it's crazy
Just wait
Alonso Reyes they’ll have mp in their next game so don’t expect too much from boneworks but the idea would be neat
@Alonso Reyes what part of "very early" do you not understand?
Nothing is more satisfying than ripping the wooden boards off the walls in the Sewer level. Either that or just straight up running into them and crashing through
This update is gonna be hella fun!!
i am no oracle, but I'm pretty sure VR lives and or dies by whatever Stress Level Zero continues to do, which is basically always be badass. Please never stop, SLZ.
BRANDON ARE SHOTGUNS COMING
Nein
HE SAID HE'LL GET THEM IN WHEN THEY PERFECT THE MECHANICS OF A SHOTGUN

Hopefully to the main story mode too

Boneworks - The never ending tech demo.
That jumping and grab point fix are VERY appreciated
Amazing! So glad that you guys are still working on this game.
Get the guy a microphone, sounds like he is in a fish bowl
i like their ideas, but they seriously need some better art direction it is waaaaaaay to messy
Ist not the art direction. The melee combat is the worst of any VR game. Compare it to Tale sof Glory or Blade & Socery its a joke.
@@kudosbudo i mean, the melee is much better than a lot of games.
in most games you have specific weapons you can use. In boneworks, you can break a shelf and use the rods from it to kill things.
you guys have a very bright future ahead of you, will give you my money as soon as I get my vr setup
I love watching these dev diaries. Seroulsy awesome work guys. Keep it up!
When I played Duck Season, I knew SLZ were geniuses for VR games and concept to product, equal parts clever and bar raising; but Boneworks both at launch, and continually earns them the towering throne of innovation and exemplary passion to product. The VR developer gold standard with I suspect a very promising future- they definitely are making one of the most compelling strides for VR first person tech-to-gameplay; to the point it would be hard to believe they don't get frequent offers to license their game as an SDK. These videos are fascinating as is the speed at which they continue to update and release content along with improvements, for what is certainly more than enough to last for years in Boneworks.
YES@!!!!! thanks so much. the jumping was a bit hard to figure out, and never worked that great. thanks for continuing to make this game better and better!
I can't believe how much free content you are putting out there! The game itself was already great, but the fact that you keep updating it and adding stuff all the time is just increible! Can't wait to see what else you've got in store for us.
well, vehicles are now in BoneLab, sick! (in the sneak peeks)
dont even have vr yet but still always gonna watch these videos
Great seeing the continued work on Boneworks! :D
Super excited to try this update. Also, just in case player input helps in the decision-making process, I'd absolutely love (more) vehicles in Boneworks, wheeled or flying. Hopefully some larger, more open maps alongside that.
I can't really run the campaign levels very well, but the Zombie Warehouse runs SO well.
like,
*whoa*
Just want to say thanks for continuously working on the game man! You guys rock!
In all seriousness, having a physics based body is what vr cars need. We need to be able to anchor our bodies to the steering wheel so that our view doesn’t shift around like crazy when we take a step in the real world. Not saying Boneworks needs cars, just saying it’s gotta happen from someone someday
It would be cool if there was secret unlock-able npc's of some of the mythos employees in sandbox mode. That would be so awesome.
i miss you on node buddy :( you were honestly the heart of the channel
I loved the ideas you guys talked about in this video, I'd love to see them in the game! Thanks for all your hard work!
New update is amazing! Love the freedom of movement that the warehouse gives compared to the arena, and seeing the zombies hop up to chase me is always fun. It's clear that you guys put a lot of soul into the game and it shows in the final product.
A funny/cool solution to gliders might be an umbrella since they can double as an ok weapon when closed so people would also value it that way over just a glider that would be harder to fight with- could be neon-y
Brandon you should do a video where you and the dev team react to a Boneworks speedrun! That would be pretty cool
Thank you for continuing to add to this wonderful game.
Three words : OH MY GOD ! I'm an extreme fan of COD Zombies and tried to find the closest thing in VR (Pavlov wasn't that great) and you're telling me you've done it in my favorite vr game, I almost cried. Please make some more maps ! I don't know how you do it but the best VR game just got better, amazing work, wish you all the best and stay safe :)
Pavlov has zombie maps on steam workshop and the game is modified to have slightly slower zombies wall buys and they have all the old maps like kino, nuketown zombies and every map ever made also they have perks but it plays identical to the real game they reskined the whole game and added all the sound effects if your looking for identical cod zombies not sure if you tryed that yet but it's really fun. Just look up how to use custom maps takes less than 5 minutes theres a hidden button that allows you too play any map on zombie mode.
@@hodor1373 Did you read my comment wtf. I'm pretty convinced you're a bot...
@@xelary5060 I know a lot of people think the only thing to offer in pavlov is just there crappy regular map I assumed you were referring to that I also just skimmed in general. But the only thing you said about pavlov is that it wasn't that great... my friend had pavlov for 2 weeks now he didnt know you could play other zombie maps so I was like maybe this guy needs to see cod zombies maps on pavlov maybe he didnt know they were there.
Incredible work guys! Boneworks has been my go to for friends who say they think they understand everything you can do with VR.
the part brandon said "animations are in the brain" and all that, that was insanely smart. like that makes the things move and behave much better
Dismemberment, Enemy ford with weapons in arena and more weapons would be great next. Thanks for the update!
I still can't get over how good the boneworks music is. my all time fav is still the shop theme
excellent work as always guys!!! having a blast with the update.
Now all we need is that bone works like game coming to the quest
You guys are doing incredible work! :)
This movement in VR would be amazing for version 1.0 of an Ready Player One like Oasis, since you can use both melee and projectile weapons.
I still want this game so bad.
I still can not afford to buy a VR kit. I owe my friend a lot for helping me, and unfortunately had a pet pass away. So much stuff piling up.
I really hope that I can get enough by January! This game looks so sick!
Aaahhh, one day! This game is so sick, and I can't wait to see more!
It's neat how it kind of made it seem like he was being interviewed instead of just talking to the camera/viewers.
that house zombie level would so good.. or even better give us a little neighbourhood that we can zip and zop between the houses =0
Go go gadget would be perfect in Vr when you think about it, because part of the charm was that the gadgets didn't always work right, or the voice control didn't work perfectly so he might say one thing and a different gadget popped out etc.
while I am not a player myself. It sounds like you are having fun and do great stuff.
I'd love to see more types of weapons - shotguns, bows, silenced/stealthy weapons etc. And perhaps eventually a system by which weapons can use attachments or alternative ammo types. Hell, if attachments aren't going to be a thing, having two variants of a shotgun that fired buckshot or slugs depending on the variant would be enough. You've got an incredible inverse kinematics/physics game with satisfying gunplay - to see more guns added to the mix for a real sandbox feel would be incredible.
That, or give people mod tools to publish their own levels, weapons and more via steam workshop. It'll take much of the burden off you folks while you work on your next titles, and allow the community to find ways to make new and exciting things happen with your tech that you can then implement into the game moving forward.
Working with a team like this must be a blast. They do not see it was a career but a craft and work is like play. Would love to work for someone like Brandon, sadly I am 7 years too late. No idea on how to find people/brothers like this.
Thanks for all you do, Brandon!
I REALLY hope this game, or a game like this will get a coop mode eventually. Boneworks is without a doubt my favourite VR game.
Boneworks is by far the best VR game I've ever played and top 5 best games ever, imo Half Life Alyx is no where near as enjoyable. Thanks for continuing to make it amazing!
I'm definitely gonna buy this once I get my Index. Thanks for all the hard work!
multiplayer coop in this mode will be sick!
i mean, the game is sick by itself but it would be sicker!
Can't wait to try it out!
i wish every game had boneworks physics it makes the game so much more consistent immersive and just more enjoyable in general
Boneworks is a great game on it's own, but we are very lucky to have a great studio like SL0 behind it. You can always tell they all feel very passionate about this game, and game development in general. The constant updates have been very nice, and it is amazing how well they have been working even through the pandemic.
pro tip
if both parts of a voip interview record locally
you can publish audio thats actually usable
The new jumping movement is nice
Thank you!!! I need more and more of this game
