She was in deep trouble, he was abusing her for years, and she was protecting him. I saw the police video a few weeks before this happened. You can see she was on something but she told police nothing was happening and she was ok.

He probably threatened to kill her if she told the police anything or if she left him so maybe she was terrified to say something. Maybe her friends really didn't know what was going, maybe she didn't tell anyone and maybe her bruises were in places no one could see. It's easy to say what she should've done and what you will do in a certain situation but once you're actually in that situation things may not go as planned.

The police came after she was screaming at the complex they lived when the police knocked on the door over and over and they didn’t respond, but then came out the garage below. And there was a lot of people that called the police. They gave her every opportunity to explain what was going on. She insisted that nothing was happening. This was a clear opportunity without penalty, and she chose not to say what was going on. The police separated them to give her a free space to talk. These police stayed for so long and asked questions over and over and over and over. It’s unfortunate, but she had the ability to walk away very very very easily and didn’t and God knows why she chose not to.
