Major respect to the boater for not only staying at the scene, but attempting to rescue the swimmer. Then, on top of that, approaching the swimmer’s family!
Hope this young man recovers quickly and can get back to his love of catching lobsters, snorkelling, whatever else tickles his fancy. And I also want to send major kudos to the people in the boat that accidentally hit the young man. It takes really good people to stay behind and render all the help you possibly could. We all know others would have left “the scene”. I hope eventually, once the young man recovers, that you can all reunite and make the best out of this very unfortunate accident. Hang in there, buddy! We’re all rooting for you.
Not entirely sure it’s skull, but definitely missing some scalp and flesh from his right arm. You can make out parts of his muscle and what’s left of the muscle the upper arm at one point.

I was out there for lobster season and witness some guy run over my patch reef marker with 1 of my divers in the water 200ft away from boat , scary 😨, plus I seen a fella tear off his t top trying to squeeze under bridge 😮, Lotta chaos out there , I pray for this young man to have a speedy recovery 🙏
When is FWC gonna wake up and change the way they do Lobster mini season. It is total chaos with a lot of unseasoned boaters on the water with a high concentration of people in the water. They really need to do a quota for mini season.
Great job deputies and firefighters! I pray he is OK and has speedy recovery. Make sure to always have a dive flag and remember it's not a force field that will protect you. Make sure to constantly check for boats and jet skis.
Kudos to the first responder who clearly recognized the urgency with the head injury. I’m often surprised by how casually people treat them, only to lose someone to a brain bleed the next day.
That's because 65% or so of the people who live in Florida are invasive species and that number has probably grown since 2020 and that's a FACT!! Then add in all the tourists and you have nothing but a bunch of fools...
Prop guards on boats please. First of all, it saves wild life. Secondly it saves idiots swimming in places they shouldn't be. It could have been a skier or kayaker in the water. People have a hard enough time driving a car and watching for pedestrians. Boats have no brakes and any "pedestrian" will likely be mostly underwater.
Because that’s the point. If you get on a boat, go out and dive you’re in boat traffic. Where your boat can go others can AND will right behind you. There’s no such thing as a diver protected area, that’s why they have signal flags to let people know there’s divers in the water.
Because they are sick individuals. This is a friend of mine and people need to shut up when they do not know the facts. Please 🙏 for him and his family.

00:59 Dont ever say Your Sorry after an accident. The kid's lawyers will use this 3 second video to imply guilt. It will be played over and over in court. Say nothing to anyone and call a lawyer.
The kid didn’t have a dive flag. Common sense is still present in the court room. Jury would see that as a normal reasonable thing to say to the father of the victim. The boater is completely fine, it’s an unfortunate accident that is the divers fault. There isn’t going to be any criminal investigation
@@Sakaturo1Exactly, and there is no case in terms of suing for personal injuries or asking for any monetary compensation. It was entirely the kid's fault that he was diving near the boats. The boat captains had no idea he was underneath the water.
Youve never been in a courtroom. The boater will be sued for Contributory Negligence. Sure it may have been 95% the divers fault, but if the lawyer can latch onto one thing, a pic of the boater on soc. media with a beer can, he will lay the seed
Not an admission of guilt or vault, but rather consoling because of an accident, if you get rear ended by a dude and see he’s having a panic attack, and you say “sorry this happened man, but it’ll be okay” I guess the cops will find you automatically guilty, and at fault. See the flaws here?

Dive flag 300 foot radius. If he was out of zone

"What was he doing in the water where the boats belong?" - Boaters if they thought like car people.
I think he got scalped
Where's the actual body cam footage though. That's not connected with the news
NO DIVER FLAG TO WARN BOATERS. BAD MISTAKE !
Is it correct that there's no law's on boat licencing in America ? 🤔
Safety first people. Noone cares anymore, please dont risk your life for anything. Stay aware
USE DIVE FLAGS AND BE ALERT FOR DIVE FLAGS AND DIVERS !
We had an attorney killed here in Mississippi the same way.
I've seen so many snorkelers and divers with no innertube dive flags. No one would ever know they were there..
They need to ban snorkeling, it’s obviously to dangerous
Looks like Floridians are not just bad drivers, but bad boat drivers as well.
Leave the lobsters alone,nuff said.
Lobster isn’t worth potential death.
9.99$ lb at key largo fisheries, save yourself the risk of death.
Mini seasons suck. Everybody and their grandma out there. Recreational derby fishing mentality.
That was nasty!
Boaters suck. There is no formal licensure or training required. One can buy a 40 foot yacht and sail away with any experience.
If your in the water you should always have a flag out to let boaters know you're there. Weather your in a lake or ocean.
Was Janine doing a fashion shoot.
Why are you snorkeling in a boating lane? Let's have some common sense, now.
End mini season forever
Legend says the lobster hired the boat to run this guy over. Now the lobsters can live in peace. Lmao.
It looks he's lost his arm and scalp😭
I just buy my lobster at the store. Not worth it anymore.
Snorkeling under a bridge?
More people killed and injured by boats than sharks in Fl.
Awe... noo
Come on people are in the water, go slow and look, have a lookout. However easier to say than do.
Got to have the Dive Flag… up high.
Florida is teaming with boozers in boats and it shows.
not the boaters fault

Why would you snorkel in an area where boats would be so present. Not the boaters fault.
They are supposed to have diver flags up. Diving doesn't stop because a boat can "come through" it's a dangerous sport and is what it is
