- The latest animated outing of the hit multimedia franchise, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, while short-lived and somewhat divisive, is a bonafide cult-classic and is easily one of the all-time great nicktoons. To be fair, fans of each iteration have been critical of the subsequent version(s) before giving them a chance. I think the biggest problem with 'Rise' is that it rebooted the series immediately after the 2012 adaptation ended. Had they let a few years pass before rebooting the series, I think it would of found more of an audience.

I discovered Rise after watching that Mikayla Orchard review last year and it was pretty much a well needed reprieve from the news outside.
If this was released either last or this year, things would be so much different.

Not to mention there were a lot of other reboots coming out at the time that were really bad. So a lot of people probably assumed rise was another loud disrespectful reboot and didn’t give it a chance.
Fun and irritating fact! There were promised a third season originally! Nick cancelled it and the second half of season 2 with no warning. The script writer was incredible and wrote a script for the finale overnight! Normally, that length of time for the finale would be months of work

I think everyone can agree that the animation is great. Very fluid, smooth and fast paced during the fight scenes.
I will admit at first I didn't like the show but honestly I was too quick to judge. It was different and that's a good thing.
Same here, in particular I really didn't like Ben Schwartz as Leo. Nothing against Ben, just didn't think he was a good fit for the role, would've preferred him as Mikey.
However after giving the show a second chance I feel like I got what they were going for with Leo. Schwartz is playing a far less mature version of him, but one that still had quite the ego. He's a Leo who isn't leader material but is on his way to becoming it by the end of season 2. He captures Leo's usual struggle with pride and self confidence but as a version of him who's still coming into his own
Same here, i didn't like the designs at the start. But i couldn't deny that the animation quality is superb. Later i grew to like the idea of each of them transformed from different type of turtles. And the recent movie was well done.

A great thing is that since the fight scenes are so full and intense there are small little breaks in the longer ones of characters being shown just talking and preparing to attack again.
No matter what anyone says, this April is by far my favorite one. I could not STAND April in the 2013 ninja turtles. She felt basic, bland, damsel in distress, no motivations outside season one, and overall felt like she had no chemistry with any of the turtles. Even when she learned how to fight she was only tolerable at best. Oh and a love interest. I at least like the Casey variation still but not my favorite.
If anything, rottmnt is more like the original Teen Titans show. It deserves so much better!! The comedy is snappy, the story is well paced despite everything, and there is so much hugging. I love the dynamic between the characters and their growth throughout the series! The sibling banter between the turtles was top notch! There wasn’t a single episode where I had not laughed at least once. And Donnie is best turtle. I really hope we get a third season of this show.
I think a lot of people got thrown initially by the goofy, silly facade of the 11 minute mini episode structure and bailed on it before the show had a chance to establish that it was setting things up and there was an actual overarching story happening. Like once you start getting to things that carry on over multiple episodes instead of one of adventures with a goofy villain, the show really sines. For example the whole plot of splinter or how they were slowly showing and setting up Leo to become the leader. It's a shame what happened to it.
I think what ultimately killed the show was the change in leadership at Nick

Overall I think the main reason why I love this vers of the turtles the most is because of how each suport/care for each other even when one is in the wrong.
Like there's only so much one can take the whole angsty leave the group or such moments :/
Tbh every character in this show feel like their own person who has interest/lives out of each other, which I think really sells it to me
I love Rise, it's just so much fun to watch. As an avid fan of turtles I would say it is the funnest iteration. I love what they did with the characters. I don't believe for a minute that people think they are carbon copies of Mikey. In fact there is an episode where Donnie makes his brothers more intelligent that shows just how different the four are from each other and in the end celebrates it. I particularly love what they did with Donnie, in every iteration Donnie is usually this passive quiet genius who never really makes any waves despite easily being the most dangerous of the turtles. This Donnie knows where his power lies, while he does often seek validation, it is nice to see beats where his technology is the very thing that is under threat. Usually the tech gets broken or damaged as a side note, but there is a good couple of episodes where the purple dragons see Donnie for what he is and specifically target him because of that. None of the other series does that.
With Raph, it is an interesting take. He still gets angry but he's really just a big softie and isn't afraid to show it. He is still loyal and will do anything for his brothers and even know as the leader he has a lot more responsibility he doesn't always handle it well or listen to him.
With Leo, it's refreshing to see a version of Leo who doesn't have all this pressure on him to be a leader. He wants to be a hero and I think despite this enjoys not having to step up to the plate, this time around he has Raph to fall back on if any of his plans, which are usually make a portal and hope it works, happen to fail. The fact that he isn't the leader I think makes him more interesting. He isn't as serious or intense as he usually is and this makes him a better brother and character.
Mikey is still just Mikey. He is the baby of the family but more than just the comic relief. I think his tendency to make up characters like Dr Delicate Touch is just hilarious and all those negative points about him can probably just be put up to his age rather than any actual character flaw. He really is a bit more mature in this version of the show and I like that about him.
I think you're so right when you said that old TMNT fans forget that these characters are supposed to be TEENAGERS. It's no fun to see characters meant to be teens be so serious and stoic.
The Rise turtles feel and act like teens
It’s a small nitpick but so glad you called Rise’s April “bold” opposed to “sassy”. They’re synonymous yet that small detail makes a world of a difference when describing any black female character.
Kinda looking forward to the Rise of the TMNT movie. Gotta support whatever passionate animated projects Netflix haven't mercilessly squashed!

Honestly at first I wasnt a fan of rottmnt's before since tmnt 2012 ended right when it started and I was still attached with that version so for a while I didnt even try to watch it. Then I got curious about it and looked it up and saw so many mixed reviews saying it was either " absolute garbage and shouldnt exist" to " this is a fun show and that those that dont like it and havent even watched it should at least watch the first 3 episodes". Thats exactly what I did and I ended up going from " why is raph the leader" to being use to it and falling inlove with all of it! Im so glad I gave it a chance and I really hope it gets more love! I even watched the movie yesterday and I absolutely loved it too!
To be honest I will forever love the 2012 version since I grew up off of it but I absolutely love rottmnt's! They made April so much cooler! Im so glad they gave diversity! Even for a white person I was getting tired of the never ending white people in the 2012 version so this was an awesome change!

i like all the turtle seasons, but rotmnt definitely has the fights scenes i don't forget. who the heck beats up their rogue's gallery using fish and ladders?! that's insane! reminds of jackie chan's choreography.

It's not exactly like the older versions so people don't even give it a chance or it's because the characters are different from the older versions it's called originality and being different

@@jammyjammy2912 Amazing animation, great character designs, good comedy, well-written story, donnie's a badass, the action is fucking amazing , the backgrounds are amazing, April is awesome, so far none of the characters are annoying(for me personally) and basically everything. Though I'd understand if you'd want something more like the other tmnts, and if so, the rottmnt movie is definitely recommended. In conclusion, don't knock it till you try it unless you just really want the old series back. I don't blame you some what 💀

I will say Rise April is more of the little sister of the group instead of a friend to the turtles
So when I first saw the first episode, I thought it was alright but not for me. Then I found out about Foot Recruit. I loved her character so much I saw Turning Red when I found out there was a character there similar to her. As I saw more clips, I wanted to see Rise more and more so finally this week I totally did. While I don't think its the best series, its definitely worthy of a movie and being called Teenage Mutant Ninjas Turtles.
As for Casey Jones, they actually did allude to them being Casey Jones. During their last episode before the Shredder's return, the initials of their operation front is CJ. AKA Casey Jones.

As a movie on its own, I think its excellent. But as a series finale, I kind of wish there was more. So I am hoping Rise returns with the movie being successful.
I watched the show for the first time a month ago because of the announcement for the movie peaking my interest; I slept on it for TOO long! I had never been into TMNT and this show had me hooked from beginning to end! I hope more comes from this iteration of the franchise if the movie does well!
Same here! I had never watched anything TMNT related, but I was so intrigued by the animation. I only started watching it recently, but man I was hooked from the first episode! I'm so hyped for the movie now!

2012’s Donatello has got to be my favorite adaptation of the character, but DANG Rise Donatello is a gem.

ROTTMNT is the perfect mix of new, but still iconic enough so you know who is who and you remember them. The only problem I hav is how Raphael like completely changed his character, but it’s Rise for a reason. Also great video, I loved watching through it

@@cosmicspacething3474 i always thought that was kind of a deliberate thing with rise tbh. like plenty of their usual core traits are there! leo is great at strategy and has an ego/dorky side, raph is more of a brawler than a planner and has a temper. just switching up which one is 'oldest' (not to mention a master splinter who was a lot less strict/formal) made a huge impact on how they turned out. raph has a better handle on his anger bc he channeled a lot into the sense of responsibility of being a big brother but the stress of it weighs on him and he can be overprotective, leo had more room to breathe and show other personality traits/be goofier but seems to feel directionless and unneeded in-universe and takes risks trying to stand out.
idk i felt like the differences in personality made sense. but i also can't speak to whether the creators actually intended that or if i've just been making an imaginary conspiracy board about it LOL

one of the reason i love the show is the animation, you have no idea how good animation can be so expensive, the fight scenes or action scenes are amazing whoever dislikes the series its on them but i really would say to give it a chance.
There was a Tweet from one of the writers of Rise Ron Corcillo stating that if the Netflix movie does well there's a chance the show could continue.

I love rise so much, but it gets so much hate because idiots try to criticize it but do not watch it and most of the criticism boils up to "leo is not the leader" or "april is black" but leo not being the leader is actually a good thing because it gets explore his character and the movie looks so good 👍 and the animation is too good for its own good
Leo not being the leader is probably my favorite part. It lets him shine a lot more without putting him on a pedestal above his brother's. Rise Leo still had the usual issues with pride and self confidence and does become the leader by the end, growing into the role from the lazy slacker he started Rise as.
As for Raph being the leader, that works to show why he shouldn't be and why Leo is the real leader by the end. Rather than have them at each other's throats we got to have their conflicting dynamics clash and highlight the strengths and weaknesses of both. We don't need to see Raph and Leo fight over the role, we got two seasons of Raph having good intentions but being a pretty sloppy leader, Leo gradually becoming more proactive and taking things more seriously.
As for black April, really don't get why anyone cares when Baxter Stockman has been race swapped before. Sometimes he's white, sometimes he's black, never heard anyone make a big deal of it, despite the fact he was originally black in the 84 comic and turned into a white guy for the 87 cartoon. Not sure why black April's a problem when white Baxter wasn't

It's ridiculous, even the 2012 show got some hate at the start when it was announced and when finally given a chance, it's gotten so much love. When the 2012 show as announced, I was already loving the style and the first episode when it aired. So it did suck when it ended, but to be honest, it did kind of start falling off a bit at the end and it was a good thing for the show to end. When Rise was announced and when I saw the art style, I was immediately hyped, and when I learned that Leo wasn't gonna be the leader and was also going to be the funny one and not the older brother, I was even more hyped. Leo is my favorite turtle and always will be, and as a Leonardo fan, I loved the change that was brought to him in this show because each other show, movies always followed the same pattern and I was getting tired of it. ROTTMNT was like a breath of fresh air and I was getting tired of the hate it was always getting. The teaser hasn't dropped and people were already giving it so much hate. The teaser trailer has a 6.9K dislike and like ratio which is ridiculous. The show has comedy, awesome fights, decent story writing and amazing characters and it's a shame that this show wasn't given the chance that is has deserved. I'm glad to see that the movie is already winning lots of fans over and some people are willing to give the show a try, but it sucks that we won't be getting a third season. So far, ROTTMNT Movie is my favorite TMNT movie as well as the show will always be my favorite.

Maybe (hopefully) with enough popularity, feedback, and demand, the rest of season two of Rise could be released as ‘the lost episodes’? They can rewrite the episodes to be one offs, taking place before the Battle Nexus episode leading into the finale, with maybe something foreshadowing. It could also be an opportunity to tie up those loose ends (like revealing Venus, doing something with Mayhem, showing more of the turtles’ origin as kids).
Gosh this series had so much potential.
I stopped on Nick completely after what they did to Harvey Beaks, Glitch Techs, and Rise (great shows that ended too soon just because they wouldn’t advertise them enough and it didn’t bring in the ratings they wanted).

The previous versions of April were ok but this on is my favorite.
Everyone! If you absolutely love Rise (for every part of it or/and) because of the animation, then I'm begging you to watch Lego Monkie Kid. It is also made by Flying Bark and has the same style in shading, animation and everything. It is amazing as it is wild.
Despite your predictions that the movie will be the end, I really hope fans can pull together and get SOMEONE to pick this beautiful series back up so it can get the respect it deserves. It had so much more story to tell.

I have zero TMNT attachment- this is the first time I’ve really interacted with them but after looking at the other shows, it’s hard to say I will ever again. The distinct style, the different species of turtle, I love them! The only nitpick is I personally find Mikey very irritating- maybe it’s just me, but he feels so out of touch and just grinds my gears. Other than that, I love this show
This is one of the best shows Iv ever watched, it’s so perfect I can’t find anything wrong with it, I love the characters and especially the animation and story
I forgot about the set up plot threads that had no pay off. But you're absolutely right. Aside from just more episodes of possible but unlikely filler (which would be welcome no questions anyway), this show obviously had so much planning. And given what they were able to accomplish in the finale with all the obstacles in their way, I have no doubt that if this show had been given more room and just a CHANCE it would go down in history.

Binged the show over the last week. I have nothing negative to say about this show. Pure delight.
Honestly-- love them or hate them-- the ROTTMNT version of the turtles were the most true-to-life versions, when it came to personality and design. None of the turtles had to be the same breed. They all had distinct looks and personalities that were both loveable but not without flaws. The quick-witted banter between them felt authentic and something we'd honestly probably hear coming from four teenage NYC brothers, who've spent their whole lives isolated from the world in the sewers.
I love the other incarnations, too! Do NOT get me wrong! They all have their charms and loveable personalities. But there was something fun about the dynamic of the ROTTMNT cast when playing these characters. The jokes felt fresh. The animation was crafted with so much attention to detail and love.
This show did NOT deserve the BS treatment it got. What a missed opportunity. :( I hope the movie encourages Netflix or Nick to start this show back up in a PROPER time slot & PROPER marketing.

Whatever they started in the 80s they already fine tuned in 2012 . They actually took rise in a smart and careful direction . SUCH A SHAME it's misunderstood and probably cancelled .

I feel a lot of fans thought it looked like TMNT with the Teen Titans Go makeover. And most remember how everyone was divided on that. The same thing got Thundercats Roar canceled before it even aired.

I'm mostly working and training so I don't really have time to watch TV as much but I always loved the Ninja Turtles. I found this show better than the CGI one. The CGI one I found attrocious.
this is one of the most goofiest and best version of the tmnt so far, with each turtle being just as as equally autistic as the last, but Each based
on a different species and not conventionally heros from the beginning. Then April is a queen and easily my favorite iteration of the character, she's the same age as the previous april, but nowhere near as irritating or uncomfortable like she was in the past. She proves herself to be capable of fighting with the boys on numerous occasions.
Rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles is a great show and it makes up for it by being super funny, gorgeously animated and having some damn fine character work

I also loved the 2012 but you just cannot do stuff like this in 3D. my heart stopped for an unrealistic amount of time in the movie, I love that they were able to partner with netflix, to get this show one more chance, but jesus I would love active to release this in theaters.

Like for real when this show came out I was in the camp of "There's doing another one already" and passing it off. I'm so glad I gave this show a shot.
I’m actually pissed at myself for not giving this show a chance until a while ago. Like pissed. I completely missed this gem and honestly it’s rose to be my favorite iteration of the tmnt even though I literally GREW UP on the 2012 series and IDOLIZED it.

I think an issue for "rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles" was a lot of people assumed it was going to be in the same vein as "Teen Titans Go" not a terrible show but just kinda dumb time wasting 7year old joke humor. No really story That is eh when there so much else out there to consume.
When it is very much not that it's closer to a show like Danny Phantom dumb and goofy in a lot of ways but has some good plot line and story. Once into it. An rise has some amazing animation fight scenes.
It's better then teen titans go. At least they fight crimes and have character growth.
I think the point of TTG is that they're terrible people and supers. Also it's mostly epsodic. It'd be like saying Homer Simpson is not a very good person most of the time and that at the end of each episode he forgets he loves Marge and treats her horribly until the end of the episode where he remembers and then forgets the next episode.

@Kian I tried watching a few episodes but it was just so horrible. Hate everything about it. I’d rather watch the next mutation that’s how bad it is🤣. To each their own but I can’t understand how any old school tmnt fans could tolerate rise. I’m a mirage OG fan so I wish they’d make a series that’s for the fans Of mirage finally. There’s enough goofy turtles for kids that’s been done over and over. Give us the real gritty shit finally you know? Stick to the source material and stop changing crap and watering it down.

Rise of the TMNT was only goofy because of network medaling, it was originally going to be action instead of action comedy; also you should finish the 2012 TMNT show because it is also pretty good.
I hope that after the movie, we will get a 3rd season consisting off much of the cut content, AND maybe more stuff! Like, imagine their take on the Triceraton. If Shredder is nightmare fuel and Kraang look freaky, then the Triceraton would be MONSTERS!

When i first watched it, i thought it was just ok, but i was SO wrong! Now that i am older i know how such an underated banger this show is!

I actually didn’t like the rotmnt, but I saw a clip of splinters back story and I watched the show and loved it. I actually thought tmnt not was for me after 2012 because I really hated that show and thought it will be much like it but I was wrong and end up loving rotmnt
eh though honestly I can see why people did not trust the show at first, a lot of fans of teen titan got burned after teen titans go came and basically left the original off on cliff hanger and then replacing it with something of less quality, and I mean a lot less ,people were probably feared that it would be a similar outcome,
though this is a lesson I and a lot of people have to learn about and that is all summed up by a old couple of words. "Don't judge a book by its cover."
ROTTMNT is literally a mix of the 2003 TMNT tournament mixed with characters from 2012 TMNT

I was getting my axe ready for the series because of how soon it came out after the 2012 series ended and the trailer did give me a "Teen Titans Go!" Vibe. But I gave it a chance, unfortunately after season 2 ended.
Great video! I've considered making a similar video myself as I believe this show is criminally underrated! As of right now this is my favirote tmnt (mostly because of the style and animation), so seeing this in my recommendations is very refreshing. Super exited for the movie!

I watched it and it was so refreshing. They werent acting like mature adults this time and they actually acted like teenagers like how theyre supposed to be.
I enjoyed every other show for its drama and darkness but this kind of stuff is always good in my opinion.
They made the turtles wholesome and i didnt realize that's what i craved for out of them. Raph was completely different from how other shows portrayed him as.

I'm kinda like you in the sense that my first TMNT show was the 2003 show (and I actually think it is better than the 1987 version) and at first, I didn't think too much of Rise but as I started watching more, I started liking it and didn't mind the changes. I remember watching Mr. Enter's Nick-O-Rama of this show and let's just say that it was shit.

The show is geniunely incredible. They take characters that barely have any depth and develop them into what could very easily be perceived as real people. Their conflicts and insecurities and desires are done in such a way that people want more about it.
I also love the fact that they are all a different species and can be differentiated from each other. The creators put so much hard work into researching different turtle species and even made weapons that make sense for the characters and backstories to little details. Like Donnies missing tooth, it was mentioned in the episode Portal Jacked (I think that's what it's called) that Leonardo pulled put the wrong tooth. And the creators confirmed the origin of the Battle Shell to be an inspiration from Raphael unintentionally hurting Donatello and so he made the battle shell to protect his own, natural one.

Rise ended up being my first TMNT series, I am in my 30's so if anything, 2003 should of been my first but I wasn't open to watching the series when I was 12. Took a long time for me to decide to watch one & originally, I was just going to stick to Rise but my friends convinced me to watch other series. Only seen 3 seasons of 2012 because that's all Paramount+ has & Netflix only has 2 seasons so I'm stuck at the moment when it comes to that series & moved onto 2003 which definitely reminds me of the shows I watched as a kid, early 2000's shows just have a certain feel to them, you know?
Since Rise was my first, I thought maybe it being my favorite is because it was my first but I have been going over things in my head, I like the way the story gets laid out & that you have to work your way through & earn it, watching 2003, I was surprised how much they smacked into the beginning, it's like overwhelming almost. I know what a lot of that stuff is thanks to watching 2012 so I wasn't lost at all but I acknowledged if I tried watching 2003 as a 12 year old with zero turtle knowledge, I definitely would of been chased off. Rise was a good build & while I can see how prior turtles fans can get a ton out of 2012, its pacing was good enough to where I felt like I was being slowly brought in, rather than being chucked into the deep end of the pool in 2003.
With the personalities, since I knew Rise first, the 2012 turtles were a bit of a surprise to me, I had no idea that Mikey was supposed to be dumb, I just expected surfer dude energy from the base knowledge I had before going in but when in, I actually really disliked dumb Mikey at first. He was the bottom, my least favorite, he ended up becoming my favorite of 2012. Donnie has my favorites slots in Rise & 2003 but Mikey is something else in 2012 & probably the best way I've seen him done. I adore Rise Mikey, he's so sweet & precious but 2012 Mikey? He's probably one of the more dynamic & powerful of the four. I can't believe I'm saying that, the guy is actually smart, those Mikey being a genius joke goes deeper, he really is smart, he's definitely not innocent (he has a collection of human underwear & named something the Grass Kicker, need I say more?), can adapt under pressure (being stuck in Dimension X without his brothers for an easy example), & is nimble. The dude sneaked up on Leo in the episode they needed to get a brain worm in. What's holding him back? He can't control his ADHD.
I'm not a professional so take that assumption with a grain of salt but the guy gives off massive ADHD energy to me, reason why he says silly, dumb things a lot is because he's plucking at the thoughts that best interest him, not the ones that can help in a situation but if his shell is against the wall, he can focus on the right thing, just takes pressure. This also explains why he was somewhat immune to that extractor thingy the Triceratons were using, I can't remember what they called it. They were only able to get the thought of pizza out of him because his mind is just too much of a mess to gather anything useful, suppose it's a valid way of securing useful information.
Sorry I went off on 2012 Mikey, just he is so interesting, I studied him hard when I picked up on there being more to him than meets the eye, I'll admit it's when he straight up made a very adult joke that peaked my interest & caused me to analyze him. I just needed to point out that he's a unique case, if anyone dares call him dumb, I'll be there to defend him. He's just very unassuming.
When it does come to it, the Rise turtles (except for Mikey) are my favorite versions of all the turtles, I have a Rise Donnie keychain on my bag because he is best turtle, I haven't watched enough to determine ever given I've barely scratched the surface of the franchise but I feel like no matter what else I watch, no other turtle can possibly even hope to top ROTTMNT Donatello. Not even 2012 Mikey, even though I went on defending him, he's just not as good as 2018 Donnie.
Such a shame ROTTMNT was cut short, I do plan on watching it again, I convinced my friend to watch it with me so we're planning on doing that but I don't want to just revisit the same stuff, I want more stuff, give me more reasons to like the sweet little green bean Mikey because I want to like him more so bad, I want a few more Mikey focused episodes. I also want to see more regarding Mayhem, it's revealed that he was an agent & then nothing. He's supposed to retrieve Baron Draxum & Mikey is trying to reform him like this could be some interesting stuff but no, that fell by the wayside, thanks Nickelodeon for being evil & cutting season 2 in half! I have been ticked at Nickelodeon ever since 2006 when I saw the news that season 3 of Danny Phantom was going to be the last, I knew to not trust them after that but dang, they got worse! I didn't think they'd stoop as low as they did!
In terms of advertising, there was a full on ROTTMNT splatfest in Splatoon 2, this was when the series was new. It's how I found out about it. I was Team Leo the first one which was Raph Vs. Leo, Leo lost. Team Donnie for the second, it was Donnie Vs. Mikey & even though purple is my favorite color, if I only knew the 2012 series going into this, I would of picked Mikey in that match up but since I didn't know much about the turtles at the time, I went for Donnie because purple & he did end up being my favorite so it worked out. Donnie won & went against Raph, I was team Donnie again & we won again. Wish there could of been a losers battle of Leo Vs. Mikey, that would of been neat. I adore Mikey & if the series wasn't new like if I knew everything I know now, I would of picked Leo in that scenario but if I only knew a small handful of episodes like going off of what would of been possible to see back then, I think I would of gone Mikey. These thoughts have been bouncing around in my head a lot lately. Seriously, Splatoon 2 was the only advertisement I saw for the series back then, the reviews of the show were what else I saw & they were the ones bashing the series but the fan backlash had me curious & put this one on a list of potential shows to try out at some point & I'm so happy I watched it.
The most refreshing reimaging of a long running franchise since Transformers: Animated. And even though the crew pulled a small miracle with the 4 part finale, I'd kinda rather see them retcon it so they can properly flesh out season 2 and allow all the plot threads to develop at their own pace. #RiseOfTheTMNT #SaveRotTMNT #RotTMNTMovie #RiseRestored
I watched Rise immediately after re-watching the 2012 version, which I grew up with and is my favorite, This show is SO underrated. I loved it, even after rewatching my favorite version immediately prior. Also, this has the best animation style of all 4, good luck forming an argument otherwise. This show and Monkie Kid are two of the best western animated shows in recent memory (I bring up Monkie Kid because same animation studio)

I remember being very critical about ROTTMNT when I saw the promotional art and the first few episodes. I had a little intrigue but I mostly didn't mind. I think the last ep I saw was the hotel ep and back then that was the only good ep I liked.
Then after the show just finished I decided to give it another shot. I binged watched it from start to finish and IT WAS AMAZING!!!

This just make me hate Thunder Cat Roar and TT Go even more, due them we've created a stigma on new colorful shows - ROTMNT could've been groundbreaking. Hope the animation house got enough revenue to continue their projects.
NO other show was done as dirty as this one. How quickly Nickelodeon chickened out instead of waiting and giving fans the time they would have needed to get used to it, instead of also letting new fans discover and start enjoying it. Rise truly is a wonder and it deserves to come back and have it's full seasons. They were going to do SEVEN! We didn't even get two complete ones. Man I wish fans would get together and continuously, but in a non toxic way, bully nickelodeon into making more Rise. If they can have THREE versions of SpongeBob airing at the same time, if Marvel can have multiple versions of its shows at the same time, I don't see why we can't have two TMNTs at the same time. not done w the video yet but HUGE AGREE W APRIL!!!! i watched the 2012 series as one of my first introductions to tmnt before i even considered giving 2018 a chance, and while 2012 will forever have a special place in my heart... i could never find myself enjoying april. i mean sure, she wasn't irritating to the point of ruining the show for me, but i personally always rolled my eyes whenever she was on screen. i found her personality to be bland and her story didn't interest me.
RISE APRIL HOWEVER. omigosh literally the moment she appeared on screen i knew i loved her. bitch is literally oozing charisma and charm in every scene and i find her to be an incredibly entertaining addition to any episode!
also, i never got why ppl were upset about her race being changed? it never bothered me at all and i actually found the new take on her design to be refreshing and more than welcomed.
