- An I-Team investigation revealed renters being evicted while waiting on a slice of the $870 million allocated to the DCF’s Our Florida program to help pandemic-impacted tenants behind on their rent.
Over 800 million dollars received to help people, and only 24 million has been dispersed? You cannot tell me that that isn't robbery.
Trump and the cult lie how much they love people
Anything a white person is over you can bet your life they will take
Effing CORRECT!
The $800M was robbed from the American tax-payer and the program should have never been passed.

Because they are pocketing the money.
Guess they should’ve paid their rent with all the free money they got
There was almost no oversight during covid and most of that money was lost to fraud. In the coming years as investigations are conducted we'll find out who stole it but by then it will be too late.
These folks knew this was coming. If they did nothing g to prepare and get a job to pay their bills that is their own fault. They rode the free ride long enough.

A lawsuit can still be filed for back rent, which will also adversely affect your ability to rent a decent place...

I feel for this woman, praying does help,be patient.
I have a strong feeling that the states will keep a good portion of the money and use it on themselves. It enrages me that our tax dollars go to help the government afloat, but when we need to stay afloat they look the other way. They do a nice press conference making it look like they are doing the best they can and making it look like they are expediting the process, but the reality is that they are making you jump through hoops to get a payout that takes months to get. By that time you are like this individual out in the streets. It's cute how they publicly announce that they are here to help their constituents in a time of crisis, but behind the scenes they just drag ass and take their sweet time, and after all that they deny most of the claims. I don't know if yall have noticed, but at least in Florida, rent is just skyrocketing. A 2 bedroom apartment in South Florida now can easily go for almost 2k, when it used to be you can find one for about 1.2k. We will end up just like California and New York.
Well of course.
One hundred percent you are right.
Yes, well said!
And still, they'll continue to profit on the stories and point to other various symptoms, rather than the cause and lack of follow-through and zero honesty and transparency for the tax payers that need it way more than our overly compensated government does...!!!

This is the wrong prayer, that the Lord make money available to give to the investors and speculators. Praying 24/7 365 days a year doesn't stop investors that borrow cash at 0.001% interest paying very little tax if any to buy up entire communities rather than turn a shovel and dig. Demanding legislatures and the governor to do something to stop the investment confiscations and encourage investments of new construction might be a better plan. Taking $250 million of those dollars to build subsidized housing for local residents might go a lot further and just giving it all to investors to cover last month's rent.
@@zAlaska B.S. you now better, that money was stolen by these same investor's to build and ask for insane prices. Now they must give it and more back, or we all will take it to them.
@@toniesedrick691 I was looking into Federal reserve fractional reserve requirements. It used to be 10%, now it's 3%. Let's say you deposit $10,000 into a high yield so they call it, Goldman Sachs certificate of deposit paying according to their offer four times more than others offering 0.5 0% interest on your deposit. A 10% fraction reserve as it used to be that they could loan that 10,000 out 10 times. 3% reserve requirement allows them to loan out your $10,000 deposit 500 times creating $5 million dollars in potential credit. Credits cannot be created unless there is a demand. The loan the money to you and me at 5% for a house 500 times, or loan to me at 20% if it's on a credit card loan. If we don't want to borrow the money at those high prices, the search goes on for an industrial type investor, like Goldman Sachs investments next door. Somebody you can trust, your left arm, borrowing from the right, up to five million dollars based on your $10,000 deposit made as your effort to save to buy a house. But the $5 million dollars was a credit created by your $10,000 deposit, Goldman Sachs can buy the neighborhood you're applying to buy a house in paying cash sight unseen. An example is a million dollar home purchased in Florida and put back on the market the very next day for six and a half million dollars confident it will sell at the new price for a quick $5 million profit. The investors aren't buying vacant land hiring builders creating new neighborhoods. They're focused on existing stock driving up the prices that your tax bill goes off the roof and people are not able to keep on holding their homes. You can learn more about fractional reserve requirements and fractional reserve banking which is our banks in the documentary Zeitgeist addendum. I hope I cleared that up for better understanding of what I was talking about which I wasn't very clear.
Sad situation. But landlords can't keep their places going without their rent.

These government agencies hold on to all of that money for as long as they can, because they are collecting interest on it. They let that money sit in the banks, collecting interest, for as long as they can and even after tenants are evicted and homeless. The government is only concerned about collecting interest on that money. In addition, the hedge fund companies are buying a lot of these low-income area housing and apartments, and they are doubling and tripling the prices to rent. Smh

It’s the landlords fault they didn’t pay and they want them out? Place blame where it belongs. What happens when you don’t make your car payment? They take the car. Why is this any different? Always wanting handouts instead of helping yourself
My heart goes out to the landlords who also face losing their investments because of these deadbeat squatter's living and trashing their property.
Land lords are trash . They skim off the top while others support their lifestyle . You are trash too .
You can’t force landlords to just support people for over a year and half without any form of compensation. Money and jobs are available but the problem is most people don’t like the type of jobs that’s hiring because it’s mostly service sector jobs in retail. But when you’re desperate you have to set aside your embarrassment and dissatisfaction and just do it. Then start looking for a better job once your situation has stabilized. Also not all but many received unemployment benefits including extended federal benefits, stimulus checks, etc so there was money in people’s pockets.
A lot of the people struggling right now are the same people who always had money problems and face housing insecurity prior to COVID. The best way to solve this is to end the moratorium to incentivize those that can work to work. And the government to extend and fund the section 8 program for those with serious housing insecurity and give generous tax benefits to housing developers who build and maintain affordable housing. That would incentive more supply of housing which in turn will lower rents and home prices. Just extending the moratorium solves nothing and only incentives people to not work or pay what they owe.
So,you think the tax payers should pay even MORE? Nope. The rest of us work and pay and don’t need incentives.
Exactly! Well said! You should run for President!
871 million seems like a lot but when you compare how many people are actually in need plus back rent and the current market rates it doesn't even scratch the surface of the actual need.

Why would a landlord want a squatter in their property? What makes the landlords think she will pay in the future if she hasn’t paid for 2 years? She’s not owed free housing. Owning property isn’t charity, it’s a business. Why is the landlord required to keep her if she doesn’t pay? If she doesn’t make that car payment what happens? The bank repossesses it right? What’s the difference?

I had tenants I tried to work with for 6 months with getting rental assistance. It was a fiasco. Not being able to talk to anyone and never getting a call back. I was asked to provide all of my financial information as well as a current lease, the tenant was asked to do the same ... every month for 6 long months ... and each month that passed, they couldn't find the documents or couldn't link the documents between landlord and tenant. I eventually had to evict, not because I wanted to, but because the monthly costs associated with maintaining and paying taxes on a property don't stop. Had it been a couple of more months, not only would the tenant be without a home, I would also have been without a home.

Being lazy is intentional.
@@Sephious_VII lazy is a concept and social structure not an actual thing in most cases. “Being lazy” could be depression and anxiety or even trauma response.
@@bubbles7398
The only way to fight depression is to force yourself into small tasks. Then work your way up to bigger ones until you can change your environment into one you are proud of. Be that keeping things clean and tidy, going to a park for walks every now and then. Actually cooking meals rather than buying easy foods.
I beat depression by changing my routines and habits gradually. Making sure that the changes were productive.
A lot of people can't self treat depression. Especially if they are surrounded by other miserable people.
Misery does love company. And that company always ends up stuck in misery.
@@Sephious_VII depression sometimes needs meds or you can’t do anything at all and that’s not lazy there’s a chemical imbalance in the brain that causes that. Chemical imbalances aren’t “being lazy” or something just changing the environment to something “you’re proud of” or even who your around can fix. Trauma responses can also do that. If cleaning was a punishment or never good enough when someone was a kid they aren’t gonna want to clean because what their parents always said to them they will say to themselves as that becomes their inner voice. Anxiety can even do it as say it gets bad and even when you go to do something get overwhelmed. Damn even ADHD can cause it as a lot with ADHD can find things in clutter but when everything is clean can’t find a thing. Trauma can also cause it as it changes how your brain processes information to an extent. A lot of mental health issues can cause someone’s house to be messy. None of that is “lazy”. Being lazy is literally a social concept mainly. Normally there’s always a reason behind it even if the person won’t tell you what it is and you never know. Most likely if you “beat” depression it wasn’t a big chemical imbalance nor had a family history or not a big one. Me on the other hand have a lot of people in my family that have depression and actually NEED medicine as no matter how clean something is or who I’m around doesn’t help more than maybe a few days but even the better days it’s still there. Then, invite some families to move in and not pay a dime while you pay everything, taxes, insurance, mortgage, repairs and around here, snow removal, landscaping. See how you like it. That’s because vagrancy was illegal.
Thay let it get b hind then want someone to pay there way guess what not going to happen
Ok so they paid 1500 to her landlord but she had to stay in a shelter. So basically the landlord got some of the relief he was seeking but it's a day late and a dollar short since she's out of her apt. The amounts that your eligible for in delaware aren't helpful. I applied in May of 2020 to help me with just part of Mays and all of June since we weren't going to be able cover it. Never heard anything despite emailing as instructed (No phone calls accepted) they finally sent my landlord a chk in August. By then I was behind again.
The moratoriums should have never been in place off the backs of the landlords. She stayed there for two years rent free but the landlord took a hit. The government should have granted help to those who’ve lost their jobs during the pandemic. This just created a whole world of problems out of our control. My heart goes out to her and I pray she gets through these tough times.
You do know that landlords were able to receive help as well and some were getting money and still trying to charge the tenant as well. Which is against the law.
And it's easy for you to talk because obviously you was able to pay your bills every month is people like you that gets on my last nerve
@@catherinebell3347 very little did double dipping. A lot of people abused the no eviction moratorium. The state doesn't pay out because they can use it as funding for something else. California used it to buy hotels motels. A lot of government schemes and holding on to Covid 19 pandemic relief
Yep. Landlords got screwed by the poor people. And now those same poor people are crying like babies because their homeless now.
@@catherinebell3347 refusing to honor a contract you signed is also illegal. The CDC attempting to nullify a legally binding agreement is illegal. The agreement was signed and approved. It’s a done deal. And the CDC is not a legislative body, which means they have no authority to make laws. Only Congress has that authority. That’s why any order given by the CDC is not legally binding.
Peace be with y'all
Sorry for her daughter but how did Florida fail her. Jobs are everywhere. She said if they give more. Why are people setting around waiting for someone to give you somethings?
Nice car.
12 dollar an hour???
Judging her because her skin and single mother smh. You can’t make a man stay married or not. Times will get better for her ❤️ don’t speak on situations you never lived
Tables can easily turn
Please lord help all these strong independant single mothers who dont need a man who lack accountability...
The application is designed to discourage! They want more info when if that's all you have you get shuffled & forgotten. The quality of the people answering the our Florida calls speak broken English or have terrible connection. More stall tactics. This state has no compassion for low income people
I’m sorry… I just do not get it .. I have never stopped working .. and I was offered the opportunity. There are jobs.. not the best jobs .. but there are jobs .
💯I’ve never had a problem finding a job I don’t get how these folks kind find any.
Whatever "jobs" there are just put me further in the hole when it turns out to be a half day, cancelled, or only 3 days a week. I should have used my time ONLY to apply and interview at the best jobs, but sadly my unemployment ran out months ago. No time or money now to act. My woman just filed disability. I need to file it also...
It’s the rental market here. It’s getting beyond what many skilled, educated people are getting paid here in FL.
WHAT A WONDERFUL WORLD❤💯
THIS WOULD BE, IF WE WOULD❤💯

Is it at all possible to begin an Outreach Program where people can receive help filling out different forms? Living in Canada, I worked in a Native Outreach Centre where we also helped those who were unemployed. Our office was situated where we could be accessible to everyone. Some forms can be difficult for all of us. And then there's the fine print. Wishing everyone the best.
Pray baby hard praying hard helps.
Can’t pay don’t stay
Move to New york they will give you someones house for free while the landlord goes bankrupt
Are you for real help me out with some info bro
Please help me understand HOW you cannot pay rent, when you got 600 (HUNDRED) dollars EXTRA, PER WEEK, on top of regular unemployment, for MONTHS? How is rent not being paid? Unless, of course, people are just NOT PAYING because of the moratorium! If i can't pay ONE month, how the hell am i going to pay 6-12 months? Landlords need their money, too. 2400 (HUNDRED) EXTRA DOLLARS per MONTH, PLUS regular unemployment benefits, and you don't pay rent.....NO SYMPATHY here. Those that got this EXTRA money, was getting MORE than i take home per month after WORKING 40 hours per week.
Plus stimulus money.
Yup and crying now they have nowhere to go Oh well
These are FACTS!!!!
My parents own many units they rent out and they have turned down MANY assistance vouchers from tenants. I didn't fully understand til my dad explained. What happens when the assistance runs out? The owners are stuck once again footing the bill. I get it! I'm 50/50 on this situation
It’s hard sleeping in a dam car
So what goto work like I did sometimes I worked upto 3-4 jobs at a time
How did you do it? I commend you.
You can pay to get your hair breaded and nails done, come on people PRIORITIES!!!!!
God is in control
I don't believe it everywhere is hiring and Florida never shut down.
If you are able to work and refuse to help yourself you pay the price.
The state should find her a place to stay. Its not landlords place to house people.Who is going to pay the landlords property taxes and bills on the rentals.
The state pays for stuff like that with taxes that you pay. Why should anyone have to pay for the bad choices and misfortunes of others? Charity is voluntary. Whatever welfare you idiots voted for all of us to pay is not charity.
Let's see you had 15 months while the landlord had to eat thousands
They said $1500 rent to the landlord. That can’t be 15 months.
James Thank You! These people need to get jobs and stop having kids they can't afford. That hair weave and style cost money. Landlord got nothing
@@Iamboston81 so if it was a young white girl with extensions and her nails done..you wouldn't say shit✋️
What happened to the$600 weekly extra pay and the extended benefits from unemployment. ???
Gregory that been expired !!! Where you been????
@@lilliansanders5470 the point is that she should not be behind in her rent to the point of being kicked out if she has been getting unemployment and stimulus. It would make sense if people start to fall behind on rent now that stimulus is going away. But that is not the case. It is very confusing to me why people fell behind on rent while unemployment and stimulus was flowing. Were there people who did not get unemployment and stimulus money somehow?
@@dquan731 600 dollars for rent isn’t enough in Florida, one of the most expensive housing states in the us
@@dquan731 I agree. The unemployment had to be utilized to meet their contractual agreement for housing until those benefits were decimated.
Seems like the Sam's in Oregon. OEAD said they mailed a check to our landlord but it's been a month now and the landlord says they never got it. OEAD also said they can't give us the check number.
How many refused to pay rent when they got a stimulus check check?
Everyone that was supposed to get stimulus got it. It's plenty of people who still haven't received unemployment or tax returns from last year.
They worried about people getting the ppp loans they need to investigate where the money for housing is going
Sounds like this money is going elsewhere and needs to be deeply investigated! There is a story in Connecticut about the girl who stole 40 MILLION from Yale... Anything is possible these days!!!!
How can you not pay rent with the $ you was receiving?
Because they expected someone else to foot the bill and saw the pandemic as a way to con the system. I was a single mom and worked 52 years before I retired, at age 68. I don't rent, because I bought and paid for my house, by going to work, which is a 4 letter word to most of these evicted people the media is going to trot out, thinking that people will feel sorry for them. I do not. Back in the lean times, I worked a fulltime job, a part time job and I donated plasma, in order to pay bills and have gas for my car, (I also worked on my car myself). Raised my son with a strong work ethic. He's been working for 35 years, over 25 years with the same company. When the company had to let some people go, he was kept, because he is a versatile, dependable, hard worker. He owns his home also. She's taught her child to leach off the hind teat of society and whine about it. The apple won't fall far from the tree.
@@kibblenbits damn right! The sense of entitlement in this country is out of control. No accountability and victim mentality. You don’t pay, too. Ad. The rest of us pay or the bank takes it.
If the government is paying the rent for people what have they been doing with the extra money🤔
$800 doesn’t go that far
@@ina1815 It does when its getting payed by someone else.
Everyone is not getting that money for back rent so please stop counting what’s in other people pocket especially if you have never struggled before

They were spending that money on shoes cloths eating out drugs alcohol.these people are just losers that thought they could take advantage of the system forever.but. But now it’s all over and there hurt there free ride is over
A lot of the home owners. Lost theirs rental income so to all the tenants taking advantage of the system. That money was to pay rent. Not to throw party’s and go in vacation. I am so mad.
Good .
Bad tenants desverve it .
Kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
Ouuuuuut ! Out ! Bye !
What happened to all the money people received for unemployment, the extra six hundred a WEEK for it and then the two extensions to it? Not trying to be mean here, at all, but it's NOT like she didn't have anything coming in IF she was indeed put out of her job due to this "pandemic" and therefore would have been getting assistance. In fact, she very well could have had MORE coming in than when she was working. Am I wrong?
some people got out of the debt they were already in. the people who needed this funding didnt just become poor over night! sorry you more elite folks cant relate. its just that simple huh? your talkig about people who live in crime infested neighborhoods where cars, shoes, money, gets stolen everyday. the people just have to replace. no extra money for renters insurance/nor knowlwedge of renters insurance sometimes. get off your freakin high horse cuz it could be you next!
There is no free meal. You can't stay for free and there are tons of "Now Hiring" signs. Let's get off our butts and get back to work. Pay your bills people.
Why work if democrats are willing to give us free money ?
Exactly
The ones in charge embezzled the money!!!!!!!!
is it taking long because the thieves in charge are investing it for their own benefit?
Their system is faulty. Online it says waiting for landlord. But when you call it says waiting for tenant, but then my case worker emailed me once after weeks to tell me there was nothing needed from me or my landlord. Please once the landlord applies once, the system doesn't even let them add more tenants, so it is very frustrating for them as well, but of course rules are rules and they have to follow procedures. These case workers are probably up to their neck as well.
Idk, i guess some people can't hack it! I personally could and have worked my way out of a shelter! Then i tightened my belt and bought stocks and took the 401K ect. Good choices will have you set up for success! But people don't want the formula, they want the hand out!
Such an insensitive way to think.
@@robynm.7950 We live in land of opportunity in the age of information.

Called again today! I got cancelled for no reason. I'm questioning this program. Nobody knows what there doing. Again
No, you failed your teenager. You do not have the right to live rent free!
They still doing it...I had to move a gentleman out who suffered a stroke..his application was approved verified by his landlord and she didn't receive payment...😡
The problem is the government gave money and stimulus checks. Most of the renters didn't even talk to the landlords and work with them, at least you could have given the landlord something. The reality is not all but Most would be seen at the theme parks on social media.. So you don't have some rent money but yet your out enjoying yourselves at the theme parks. Again I don't mean everyone of them but alot did.
Its not right. Landlords has bills also but is expected to house people for free.
I have been sent a “paid” notification but my landlord says they will send it to me … I haven’t received it and now they seem to have locked me out of my portal …
Yoo I swear I had that same problem. They locked me out once I mentioned it to them I mysteriously was logged back in! Hmmmm this is worse then I thought now I know I’m fucked!
