Without protection Landlords and Homeowners are at risk of losing their homes because of tenants taking advantage of the system. The Eviction being shown here is not a person "losing their home" but rather they are losing their "rental, that they are making a home of, for as long as they continue paying the rent." There is no rent-free places. You have to work to pay rent nothing is free. You don't work that's fine but you don't pay rent you don't have nowhere to live. It's called responsibility.

Eviction is a tool for story writers to lead into another event. It doesn't work in real life. They would freeze to death in about 2 hours in winter. And where would they live if you tried this in reality?
