The £280m in other is because when you reach just over £1bn the game "invests some for the future" to avoid an overflow on the balance float in the code. They would have been making crazy profit from the interest in the first couple months before the game adjusted it
I didn't think about the interest they'd be earning! I knew when they go over £1bn the game doesn't like it, so a behind the scenes secret, I actually only have the clubs £990m, but clearly that was still too much!
Tom you never show us the teams who get relegated from the national league in the first season and what happens to them in the national league north/south! :(
How about... 100 percent random. Take all the clubs in the top seven divisions, and put them in a random selection for each league. It'd be comical seeing Vauxhall taking the place of Arsenal.
I do feel with these experiments that because every team that’s received the money they will be going out and bidding/ approaching players to sign and competing with each other so that massively inflates player wages. Could be wrong but if I was one of the better players in that division and had 10 clubs after me I’d be trying to get the most amount of money possible.
Can you do a video where you give every league a £1,000,000,000 deal? It'd be cool to see how it effects the market. It'd obviously majorly effect the wages but it'd be cool to see if it also effects the fees clubs pay for players since every team would have the means to make massive bids for any player they want. It'd also be cool to see what happens to leagues like LaLiga which requires release clauses. They might get all their best players taken from them or maybe the release clauses would reach astronomical levels for every single player.
The problem with these experiments is the game just doesn’t do them fully like you put city in the bottom league and haaland ends up scoring twice in 37 games or you give a club a billion and ten years later they’ve only spent 40 mil on transfers.
Interesting to see Bury up there. Just to let you and anyone else know, Bury AFC (not afc Bury) merged with the entity that has always been Bury FC. So not a phoenix club as such, just one that took a few years out, dropped down 6 tiers and had a merger.
Nothing says 'small-time non league fan' like fist pumping when you see Tonbridge actually got promoted into the National League in 50 years. (Usually we stay in NLS or get relegated down to regional leagues in videos like this)
@TomFM Exciting! I haven't played Football Manager for years but love your channel, can't wait to see what you've done to the Angels. As long as we end up above Maidstone I'm happy...
How about giving some love to Vanarama North/South teams. Base FM goes to the 6th tier, yet seems like content creators ignore the 6th tier, only diving as deep as the 5th tier. One huge question is how well does FM's AI really handle coaching and finances. Based on my experience on previous versions of FM - you can fill ALL Man City staffing roles with staff members with a CA of 1, and Man City will still dominate.
Maybe hard to do, but it would be cool to swap squads, like City swap with a national team but money, rep etc remains and see how they manage the problem that comes with that :)
The way you phrased this at the start, it was like you were investing in this clubs to make them do better. What if you took that idea a little more seriously? Make it your goal to completely take over the Premier League with the current National League teams ASAP. Try to spend less than 24 billion doing it. My guess is you’d probably want to pick 2 teams per year to give the money to, in the hopes they both get promoted that season (the first NL teams to get relegated could probably get their money that year as well, and then they’d start their rise from the NL N/S). It would be cool to see how that might play out, and if you could in fact totally take over the prem, and in what timeframe/budget. (You may or may not choose to only invest in 20 teams, but if you want a season with all NL teams in the prem it might help to have given assistance to at least 21/22 clubs so you don’t get stuck in a situation where you have to try and ensure a there’s season where you have 17/20 in the prem, and the top 3 in the Championship. If one of your teams stumbles in the play off and two go up but that one doesn’t, you’ll find it very tricky to get only your 20 clubs to exactly all get into the prem for the same season.
I would like to see someone actually play as a club in this scenario. The initial strategy is actually quite a conundrum. You know you should be sensible, but with only two teams going up per season, if you don’t engage in even a bit of money splashing, it might take forever to go up, (and you might even risk going down). In some sense, you’re kind of giving bazookas to beggars. Maybe the smart thing is to accept that even relegation in the first season wouldn’t be a particularly bad thing if you’re mostly just sitting on the cash and improving your facilities. But would anyone have the patience to turtle for 5-10 seasons before making their actual run up the pyramid?
As a Brighton fan, I am very happy with this video. At least 2 premier leagues, at least 1 FA cup, who knows about champions leagues and Crystal Palace in National League South 😂❤
What if every team had a points deduction equal to their expected finishing spot? i.e Man City & Liverpool 50 points, & every other two places gets 5 points less, all the way to Luton & Sheffield with 0 points deducted
That’s pretty interesting. It’s basically a handicap race. Luton have a chance to win the league if they could just scrap out a few draws, and Man City could end up relegated if they’re even just a bit off the boil in one particular year
Every year, the same result. The AI is hopeless with large infusions of resources. I did an experiment with max training and youth facilities/coaching/recruitment (Malaga, Paris FC, St. Pauli, Venezia, and Grasshoppers) and the only thing it showed is that the AI is not programmed for sustainability. Rather than use the wonderkids they produced, they sold 'em all at the first opportunity. And after 10 years or so, they didn't NEED the money.
Turns out money isn't everything but then their staff would have massively let their clubs down. I wonder if they all were 20 in stats if they would have been more careful with the money.
Omg Cam Humphreys!!! Ipswich player. Up and coming brilliant youth player! He’s gone to them haha Oh and is this what the future has to hold for Ipswich, 8th in the prem 😊😊
Unless you are in charge the AI of the game hasn’t got an igloo what to do with the money 😂😂 what if you give one team the money perhaps it might go better (please do a rebuild of Gateshead to rival Newcastle as would be closer derby than Sunderland)
What if Polish and Ukrainian leagues fused together? After Russian Invasion, there was plans to add some top ukrainians teams to polish Ekstraklasa. Both leagues have quite good teams in Europe f. inst. Lech Poznań, Legia Warsaw and Shakthar Donieck
Bromley is my save every year! This year included, i chose them after a sim a few years ago that i watched as it ticked over for 300 years and they had won the champions league in like 2250 and wanted to emulate it. Last years game i got to the prem which took around 15 years to do so, was looking good to stay up in the first year in it, but lost 8 out of the last 9 games to be relegated by 1 point, and then back in the championship we had a bad few months and got the marching orders. Got hired by shaktar then tottenham after that and won bucketloads. This years game im one season in already won the vanny nash, which in contrast took me 3 years to get out of it in fm23, so things are looking good.

They typically dominate and come straight back up. I'll talk about it next time!
When is next time blud ☠️@@TomFM
How about... 100 percent random. Take all the clubs in the top seven divisions, and put them in a random selection for each league. It'd be comical seeing Vauxhall taking the place of Arsenal.
What about giving each 1 bill and flip the leagues too? Would be harder for the current pl teams to catch up
I do feel with these experiments that because every team that’s received the money they will be going out and bidding/ approaching players to sign and competing with each other so that massively inflates player wages. Release clauses are rarely ever met and players are sold for much cheaper.

If you're a Tonbridge fan, you're really going to like the video coming out in a few days time!
@TomFM Exciting! I haven't played Football Manager for years but love your channel, can't wait to see what you've done to the Angels. As long as we end up above Maidstone I'm happy...
I love how you got a video of the UWL indoor track facility being built. Just down the road from me in Wisconsin.
I spotted that, was wondering what they were building so thanks 😂

How about making the videos and putting them on your channel?
Fm24 just dropped and Tom's already dropping bangers
Maybe hard to do, but it would be cool to swap squads, like City swap with a national team but money, rep etc remains and see how they manage the problem that comes with that :)
What mostly happens with the money in the first seasons is that the team is hit with a tax bill.
of about 300million or less.
Crazy idea, give every European club 1 billion except the top 5 leagues,
The way you phrased this at the start, it was like you were investing in this clubs to make them do better.

a classic IGE experiment we love

The best part about this, Brighton winning all that silverware and watching Crystal Palace afll away to nothingness. It is glorious!!! Up The Albion!
Could you rebuild barnsley fc after the lost the play off final in the 120+3 min to there rivals shefdield ❤
As a Brighton fan, I am very happy with this video. At least 2 premier leagues, at least 1 FA cup, who knows about champions leagues and Crystal Palace in National League South 😂❤
Up The Albion!
Cameron Humphreys is a young player currently at Ipswich, he's normally only good enough to become a lower-mid prem player though
Yeah these games always stat players worse than what they are
Just like fifa, made Ipswich soooo bad
Where does FFP come into the max allowed weekly wages? I always assumed it was based on budget and split of transfer funds/wages...
What if every team had a points deduction equal to their expected finishing spot? i.e Man City & Liverpool 50 points, & every other two places gets 5 points less, all the way to Luton & Sheffield with 0 points deducted

Bury in the championship is impressive, did they ever get to the prem?
9:12 I think Bristol getting and staying in the prem is more impressive
Lolol love the b-roll of UW La Crosse over here in Wisconsin!
Norwich winning the league at 10:52 goes hard 🔰

OH MY GOODNESS!! THATS MY SCHOOL'S AMERICAN FOOTBALL STADIUM IN LA CROSSE, WISCONSIN, USA!!!! Beautiful city
No way! It's from a stock footage website!
Oldham embezzling lots of money doesnt surprise me at all sadly
Funny how Luton town without any money has done this faster then any of the other national league clubs
Turns out money isn't everything but then their staff would have massively let their clubs down. I wonder if they all were 20 in stats if they would have been more careful with the money.
Embessling? In Football? No Tom that has to be an FM bug ;)
Omg Cam Humphreys!!! Ipswich player. Up and coming brilliant youth player!
He’s gone to them haha
Oh and is this what the future has to hold for Ipswich, 8th in the prem 😊😊
Ayooo, Flyde the first premier league team completely disappeared in the end
Hi Tom can u tell me where afc bury finished in season 100
Try getting all the London teams in premier
What if you give a massive money and edit some of financial staff to be the best? Having good financial director helps spending money more wisely?
Norwich winning the PL and 2 FA Cups 👀👀
Love this creative content
Loved
This
Love your videos
They may have moved into a reserve account
What you should do Next video this video end with The Philippines winning the world cup
Give the Scottish prem a 200 bill TV broadcast deal
you gotta give them 5 billion
The limit is £1 billion sadly
You should give the National League the European places that the Premier League usually gets
The way you say Altrincham really upsets me but good video as per. Also its now just Bury FC

Unless you are in charge the AI of the game hasn’t got an igloo what to do with the money 😂😂 what if you give one team the money perhaps it might go better (please do a rebuild of Gateshead to rival Newcastle as would be closer derby than Sunderland)
