- In this Football Manager 2024 Experiment, we made the Perfect Manager and his career was absolutely insane. He moved from club to club, some big moves and some strange ones. Either way, it was a wild ride - come and join the fun.

I love the fact he would be with a club and then leave but the club he left was clearly set up really well and continued to win

By the way managers don't have values it's just what they've sold of players values like that john stones was 100 million sale so 352 million was his value and 100 million that is john stones

Would be interesting to see if they would have more success with a higher loyalty value so they actually "build" out a squad over several seasons instead of just jumping ship

Noticed you had Vince Doyle begin his Managerial Career at Age 40. Although "perfect", he had no background as a player. How much does that hurt a manager? Look at Mikel Arteta, who was a star player and began his managerial career at Arsenal at age 37.
Unai Emery started his managerial career at age 32.
Andoni Iraola started his managerial career at age 37.
Thomas Frank, who never played professional, worked his way up the coaching ranks before starting his managerial career at age 35.
Roberto De Zerbi started his managerial career at age 34.
Vincent Kompany started his managerial career at age 33.
Mauricio Pochettino started his managerial career at age 37.
Roy Hodgson started his managerial career at age 29.
Sean Dyche started his managerial career at age 40. Ok, but he played in lower leagues until he was 36, and his first Managerial jo was Watford, in Championship.
Marco Silva started his managerial career at age 34
Jurgen Klopp started his managerial career at age 34.
Rob Edwards started his managerial career at age 34.
Pep Guardiola started his managerial career at age 36.
Erik ten Hag started his managerial career at age 42 (But began coaching at age 32).
Eddie Howe started his managerial career at age 31.
Steve Cooper started his managerial career at age 35. (Short playing career, and immediately went into the coaching ranks, working his way up)
Chris Wilder started his managerial career at age 34.
Ange Postecoglou started his managerial career at age 31.
David Moyes started his managerial career at age 35.
Gary O'Neal started his managerial career at age 37.
Point is, these are the current Premier League managers, and most started their manager careers in their early-mid 30's AFTER having successful careers. All started at a higher level than your Vince Doyle.
Wonder what career Doyle would have had if you started him in a significantly higher league (at age 40), or gave him a "star" player career, or as you started him in Tier 5 - would it be better to have him start between ages 25-30?
Wow, what a thorough commment and bit of research. You've out done yourself here Bill lol. Yeah I did think that. In future tests he will start higher almost certainly. However, this was my attempt at him being as unemployed as possible, but he had to have a job in order for him to load into the database if that makes sense
Commenting whilst watching so it may be caught onto... But straight away I noticed the Gegenpress style but his Pressung is "Less often" 🤣. Would've loved to see how that would work out lol. Always enjoy your video's man keep it up! 👏

Nice concept! how long do you normally Sim your experiments like how many years normally
For players usually mid 2040s. For a squad with future transfers mid 2050s, then 100ish for tv deals and youth rating, although be more this year cos it sims so fast

Great video! Couple questions: 1) how do you edit manager loyalty? 2) how do you sim such that the manager actually racks up statistics (wins, losses, accolades, etc...). When I tried it, no statistics pop up because the assistant manager is managing all the games while the manager is on holiday? 3) Is this done via the pre-game editor?
So using the pre game and in game editor I made the manager then made his attributes all 20s then locked them. The manager is not me, as in an in game player. It's someone i created who is in the game just like Pep, Klopp etc. I shortlisted them as a staff member and followed their career

Yeah so that happened to me loads as well last year. I gave him a job and a decent reputation and luckily he got other jobs n once that started the momentum was with him
You say that you were a tit for mistaking the transfer value, I "knew" it was transfer sales but you convinced me that I must have been wrong haha

Lots of experiments have Spurs being very successful. Something within the game makes them great after a few seasons

@@jayhuahua 3-2-1-4 would seem interesting albeit a little suicidal or you could just try things out with a 3-6-1, very midfield oriented and been used in real life (not much for obvious reasons)
Really like your videos. If you do a manager sim would you consider maybe having 2-3 managers at the same time? Was thinking you could have a Postecogleu style all out attack manager (maybe play 3 up front or something and have all the manager traits as being attacking as possible), another ultra-defensive manager who parks the bus (obviously would have a 5 at the back and really defensive manager traits) and one in the middle who plays 4-3-3 and geggen pressing.
Also, can you change the manager traits in the editor so you can mess with their preferred transfer targets. Like with the defensive manager have them prefer to buy high profile older players like Mourinho/Conte and the attacking manager have them want to buy u-23 players etc.
Not sure how much impact that would have on the simulation and whether that would mean they'd buy better players. Could be interesting to see if the very different styles means different types of clubs target them to be managers too (like Barcelona go for the attacking coach and say Burnley go for the defensive coach).
Sorry for the long comment but would be interesting to see another manager experiment if you have the time
So manager videos are very unoredictable and getting thrm to not retire is tricky, so something as finessed as u suggest, while a fabtastic idea, might be very tough to pull off. I do have another manager video coming rhough, it's a perfect potential manager who starts quite average which I hope will be a lot of fun. Multiple managers may make things too long as I have a habit of going off track on tangents 🤣 i love every part of your idea though. absolutely loved this. im not really familiar with FM, but i love watching the simulations. does anyone know how to setup something like this?
You just make a manager or player then add them to a club. I've found it's key to add tbe manager to a clubso they appear in the database. Then it's the luck of the sim, as sometimes they just retire
@@jayhuahua oh okay thanks! also (this may be a dumb question), how do you do the time jumps? everytime i've played FM in the past i could never figure it out and only simulate day by day.
what reputation did you give him as that would play a part in what jobs he gets hired for
They started as a base 5000, right down the middle, but this obviously grew over time
The transfer value is the value of players sold 😂

whats ID in the top right?
All players have a unique ID, which pertains to facepacks. You can turn it on in preferences and the skin I use allows the ID button to be clicked so it pops up so I can copy and paste rather than typing it out for the faces I insert into the experiments

It's simply adding them as columns as u would anything else, however you need to have the in game editor enabled to do it

That's actually a pretty underwhelming career, all things considered. He spent most of his career with top teams (at least top teams in the save) and yet he took ages for that CL title and even underperformed in the leagues.
Yeah maybe more UCL trophies expected. He did win a lot of domestic leagues though

You ruined this experiment by only giving him one loyalty.
The pattern seemed to be he set up the club for success and then leaves not seeing the benefits of that set up, other managers reaped the rewards of all his set up.

@@jayhuahua I mean sure, but I think had his loyalty been sort of middle of the road, you'd have seen a better reflection of his abilities, instead of getting a club ready for success and not being there to see any of it. Just a thought 😁 the video was good regardless 👍🏻
